I have chicken chow mein and it is fab.

Jimmy Wans, where do I even get started? So disgusted, ordered my food and it came out MOULDY. Normally so good as well, got the wrong order. Come here if you want I suggest u don’t.

Ordered from Jimmy Wan's East Kilbride on Wednesday September 27th 2023. I've not tried Jimmy Wan's for a few years far less review it. I ordered a Breast Of Chicken Curry, Large Fried Rice, Curry Sauce, Chips & Prawn Crackers. With delivery this came to £21.60 + £2 tip for delivery driver who was very polite. What can I say, WOW, I was absolutely stunned by the portion sizes. Breast Of Chicken Curry was absolutely brimming with succulent soft sliced Chicken Breast. Chips were cooked to perfect & again the portion was plentiful for the price charged. The portion of Curry Sauce & the big carrier bag full of Prawn Crackers put other Chinese takeaways to shame (Mata Hari I'm talking to you. Eight Prawn Crackers in a bag for £2.50 & a portion of Curry Sauce which contained about 50ml for £2.70) Well Jimmy Wan's has beaten you all ends up. Reasonable sized extra portion of Curry Sauce & the Prawn Crackers were the old school kind like we used to get in the 1980's (My absolute favourite). Large Fried Rice more than filled two people going half with the entire meal. Curry was nice without being overly spicy but again Jimmy Wan's does offer Hot & Extra Hot Curry for a small extra charge. Overall compared with the letdown that is now Mata Hari across the street from Jimmy Wan's, the quality & quantity is miles better at Jimmy Wan's. I'll not wait as long to place another order that's for sure. Thanks again to all the staff at Jimmy Wan's for an excellent meal. There's only 'Wan' Jimmy Wan 5* this time from me.

Disgusting service - waited 2 hours for delivery and each time I called to check was told it was on its way - 3rd call to be told driver delivered it 45 mins ago - clearly to the wrong address absolute no ownership or apologies from restaurant

Discussed with my take away tonight bit in to a chicken ball and pulled out a big hair and all I got was just bring it back,won't be going back here again

Lovely sauce and fresh onions and tomato let down by using that rubbery pre cooked chicken that is more like tofu in texture. Prawn crackers very good though

Went here to get a good peppery chicken noodle soup and a small meal for me and my partner. The soup was sweet watered down and insipid. Bought 2, ate half of one. Ordered mini spring rolls recieved pancake rolls. Chicken fried rice was poor. Cheap chicken. Bank Machine didnt work and I had to contact my bank to cancel the payment and had to pay by cash eventually. The chicken sweetcorn soup was good. 1 out of 5 isnt bad. Never going back.

Normally first class food until last night, my wife ordered the platter and I had Singapore fried rice and hot & sour soup. My food was good as usual but my wife’s order was very over cooked and very dry . Disappointed as food from Jimmy’s is usually spot on. I’ll put this down to a one off and hope it won’t be repeated.

We’ve lived in East Kilbrude for five years - tried lots of different takeaways. We’ll definitely go back to this one - it was quite delicious. Takeaway is an occasional treat - looking forward to our next one. I had the chicken satay, my husband had lemon chicken 😊

A friend recommended this place to me as I'd never heard of it, I live in high blantyre and it's a bit away from me, I called and asked if they'd deliver and they didn't so off I drove and boy am I glad I did because the whole thing was delicious, I'll definit be going back , 10 out of 10 5stars!

Since Toby ( formerly of Namms) joined Jimmys the food has been 5 star restaurant material! Faultless. Try the vietnamese chicken curry guys.

Very decent though the Chicken curry was mega spicy.

Salt and chilli chicken balls are amazing, rice is always fresh and beef curry tasty. Although my absolute favourite is the honey and chilli chicken done in a light batter! You need to try it, its amazing. I have since moved house and they no longer deliver to me which is a shame as I am actually closer to the restaurant than my last house. But if you are within the delivery range I would recommend.

Food was d'lish! Waited slightly longer than we thought but well worth it. Beef was so tender, beef to veg ratio was perfect. ( sometimes places pack it full of veg to make it look bigger) spring rolls didn't fall apart at the first bite and the Ribs were so meaty. Look forward to my next Jimmy Wans!

Ordered from this restaurant for the last time- the female taking the telephone orders- goes by the name of Caroline- must be losing this business a lot of customers. Her customer service skills are zero, she was extremely rude and condescending and even proceeded to tell me I don't know my own post code....her ignorance is almost laughable. This employee obviously doesn't want to be there- definitely not an asset to the business. Incidentally the food unfortunately doesn't compensate for this female's downright ignorance. Best ordering from the curry house- at least the staff are pleasant and competent and the food is lovely.

I have used this Takeaway a few times : it was okay the meals were delivered on time -hot - this time the chicken was dreadful it must have been re-heated several times. It was solid the boiled rice was very dry. I was sadly disappointed in the last two deliveries I ordered I don't think I will use it again.

Enjoyed my first meal from Jimmy Wans in a long time and was delighted by the quality and the quantity of the dishes, I would definitely recommend their breast of Chicken satay and their salt and chilli chips.

Best Chinese takeaway in East Kilbride in my opinion. Fantastic value for money with great flavour too. Always generous portions.

Decent delivery times but dont appreciate your scrimping on the containers as when it used to come in 2 containers, one for sauce and my meal and the second for the rice I had plenty of sauce. With this new cram it all in one container to save a few pence its far too dry and has next to no sauce at all. Thanks but no thanks. Don't think we'll be ordering again.

Over last 12 months has got poorer and prices up - getting really hard these days to find decent Chinese food with decent quality meat used unless dinning in!

this was a phone in delevery you can pay by card over the phone thought this convenent food didnt take too long to arrive and was hot and well packed standard of food good for take away I would recommend this as good value for money too

My partner and I had breast of chicken curry and fried rice. Food was amazing, large slices of chicken breast which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Our usual go-to when ordering Chinese food in East Kilbride. Decent grub, and it's always delivered well before the 45 minute "limit" (I've actually had 2 meals at my door 15 minutes after ordering!)I have heard the odd story about staff being cheeky to both customers, as well as their own staff - but I haven't had any personal experience of that.

I used to love Jimmy Wans when I first moved to EK a few years ago, but due to being away for work a lot and not eating out as much I hadn't been in a while.I had a night to myself while my fiance was out and thought i'd treat myself to a takeaway. I went in and asked for a large portion of fried rice, large portion of extra hot curry sauce and some salt & chili chips. The person taking the order looked at me like I was an idiot, and said "that's all? just sauce?". I could see that she had written three things down on her pad so it's not as if she thought that I literally only wanted a tub of sauce..The reason I asked for it all separate instead of just getting a chicken curry is because I didn't want chicken (nor beef), and as Jimmy Wans do not offer tofu or other non-meat substitutes for curry, I was going to take it home and add my own tofu to make a tofu curry. I would expect that someone who is working in customer service would be fluent in customer service and being polite, but this obviously isn't the case. Added on to the fact that she was old enough to be my mother therefore should be mature enough to be polite to others baffles me.

Normally order from here at least once a week, last night ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, side portion of satay sauce. chilli salt chicken and chips, with a side of garlic and chilli sauce.chicken balls were ok to be fair, chips were the best bit, chilli salt chicken was ok, chilli sauce was very thin and did not taste of much .Satay sauce my god was horrendous was watered down so no flavour. the egg fried rice was burnt round the sides of the foil container, rice tasted bland and texture of tinned rice pudding, so over cooked. (what happened to freshly cooked food ) To be given fried rice thats been kept warm in a oven for ages just is not good enough .Come on jimmy, i have praised you in the pastI hope to get a reply to this because i was a regular customer and would like to know why it was so bad.Delivery driver is a nice guy, he always gets a tip, jimmy a tip for you , get back to producing quality food or people will go else where

Had a salt n chilli munchy box - £6.50 with chips, chicken balls, chicken wings, spring rolls and sauce - very tasty at decent price.

Always great food, to be fair I do always get chilli salt chicken or prawn , the garlic chilli salt is amazing

watch your food being cooked not a great idea water around pans is how they clean there woks its just dirty water

Had our 2nd meal from here tonight and I have to say one of the best takeaways we have had in a while. I think I will be going here from now on.

Found this takeaway when our normal one was shut. Very quick delivery food was piping hot. I had breast of chicken curry very tasty and spicy. The spicy noodles are fab. This is our new favourite curry house.

We had a take away from here as it was highly recommended. The food was really good but what marks it down for me was that my chicken fried rice had quite a bit of the jelly stuff still on the chicken.

Great choice and a very varied menu. When you ask for chicken breast you certainly get it. Nice flavours and plent of it.

The food is good and we have never ha a wrong order. I use this when my favourite place isn't open so don't have a vast knowledge of the menu. However wouldn't go to any other Chinese take away in East Kibirde!

they do the best munchie box, everything always tastes fresh and is always delivered hot and fast..even in the shop the staff r really friendly..highly recommend..

Jimmy wan's is a great takeaway. Lots of dishes to choose from. Not overpriced Made aware of waiting time but arrived earlier than stated and was still warm as if it had just been made

When we come home to visit East Kilbride we always have Chinese takeaway as in Sydney it just isn't the same. We hadn't tried Jimmy Wan's before but we enjoyed it so much we are now telling all our family that they should give it a try too.

Used this Chinese on various occasions not because of the quality of food but for convenience purposes only as the food is very basic and some dishes extremely bland compared to other local Chinese take away. The reason i will not be back is that i believe i was a victim of credit/debit card scamming in these premises on Wednesday night 11/11/15. Handed my card over to a Chinese woman to make payment, she proceeded to take my card from me and take it under her counter where i believe she swiped it through another machine (skimming device) as i saw her actions on the one way privacy mirror located to her left hand side as she stood in front of me from behind the counter. After this happening she knew i had suspicions as she was watching me looking at my card, she then received a phone call and was speaking in Chinese while still watching my reactions. I had to cancel my debit card in the bank to stop a copy of my card being made and was advised from the bank to do this as its actually a very common practice. Have used my card various times at this location and never before has my card been taking below the counter out of site or swiped through another machine before having to enter my pin code. Fortunately i covered up my pin number while reluctantly putting it in. I will never again use this takeaway and stick to the usual one. This will be reported to the police as they may be able to link it up with other victims of debit card fraud and again i took this advice from my bank.

Went in just for the munchie box since it has been very popular lately. It was the best thing ever! I have tried this type of salt and chillie boxes in east kilbride recently but i tried the jimmy wans one last night and i was speechless. Fantastic jimmy!! The munchie boxes from other takeaways use a flat pizza box.. jimmy uses a big massive deep container, food was filled to the top... simply amazing. I shared it with my friend, couldn't finish this, there was still so much in the box. I will be coming back for more soon, thanks!

average takeaway not bad priced but prepare to wait as can take over 1hour easily and the curry isn't bad but nothing great

could not be bothered to cook tonight so decided on a takeaway. we have used this place before and enjoyed the meal but that was over a year ago so decided to try tonight again.the shop is spanking clean, a very pleasant young girl on the counter , and the food was fantastic.. we only had 3 dishes for the two of us but there was enough to fed 4.quick , clean , and delisious will go back again

The food at Jimmy Wan's is really good. The only complaint is unless I ask for fat noodles for the spicy noodles they give you the thin ones that get too dry.

I'm not a takeaway person, I like to make my meals.However I had a friend over and this was the only menu I had.Well. It was delicious, I ate a whole meal myself, greedy of me, but well worth it My friend thoroughly enjoyed hers too and took the menu home with her as she eats a lot of takeaways.

Needed a quick fix for food tonight. Everyone in my house is on a diet and moan loudly if I so much as make toast! So, I went to Jimmy Wans. I found there was a great offer on Monday to Thursday, a main meal for one person £5.20. I got Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice. The food was good and the portion was a good size. All in all good value for money!

This is just an average take away, it would maybe change my thoughts if they were a restaurant. The delivery is fast. Ordered pick ups a few times too and the food was still hot when I got home. Food is fresh. Some of the staff are lovely to talk to. They are flexible with the order which is what I like about here. Yes, sometimes they can make mistakes, but I've realised that it was probably me who wasn't clear on the phone when ordering, they do however deliver the meal back to me extremely quickly which I am pleased about. Lets be honest, they are very busy which is why they make a lot of mistakes, the food is good what do you expect. Everyone wants their meal at the exact same time, obviously they are going to have some mistakes, it's not always their fault. However, I would prefer if they deliver at lunch times, when I am at work we always have to drive there to order.

Ive never had any problems with Jimmy Wans EK. In fact id go as far as to say its the best chinese food in town! The food is great and cheap too. Id never go anywhere else!

went out in the rain on a horrible night to collect our order and when we can home it was completely wrong!!!Vegetable chow mein....NO NOODLES???! Horrible- just a box of sauce and mushrooms.Order a curry and rice and it came with NO RICE Fabulous. Chips were cold. Complete disappointment. If they had forgot to put the rice in I might have forgiven it but sending chow mein out WITHOUT NOODLES I still can't believe it. That's not forgetting something that's just completely making a dish wrong. Pathetic, definitely won't be returning here, I live right near this place but we won't be using it again and we will be sure to make sure our friends and family know about our terrible experience. This might be the closest Chinese to me but there are plenty more Chinese restaurants in East Kilbride to choose from.

went here for takeaway at lunchtime and ordered of the lunchtime special only to be told it was school children only and member of staff put another board up and told me to choose from this.....the exact same dishes but more expensive needless to say i pointed this out and also the fact it did not state anywhere the cheaper dishes were for schoolchildren only , didnt buy anything and left

Love Jimmy wan's always get delivereys so fast. Never had to reheat the food. We call him Jimmy wan minuete. Great service.

Try the Singapore chow mein, no prawns and with udon noodles. All the food is very fresh and the service is rapid.

Always enjoyed everything I have ordered from here. Clean takeaway unlike some in the area. So you have to wait? That's because it's good so it's busy. How friendly do you need staff to be? I've always found them to be Ok but then I'm there to collect food not make a lifetime friend.

Food was only "just so" and service quite slow. Admittedly it was busy - and a Saturday night, but drove down to pick up an order that had been phoned in, "20 minutes" I was told, so 20 minutes later I turned up - had to wait another 25 minutes! NOT good!

Food was very good, portions were amazing. Order from here often and i was never disappointed. I order a pick up and the girl on the phone was lovely. I actually forgot to order a chicken curry so i phoned back and the same girl answered and she was more than happy to correct the order for me. I recommend the special chow mein, i order that every time.

The shredded chilli chicken in peking sauce is wonderful :) and i also like their curry sauce also along with chicken fried rice

In my opinion this is the best take away in east kilbride. Ordered from here a few days ago and was certainly very pleased with the meal. The price is similar to other take aways but it is very good for the money, they give very big portions.

Got a take away from here on Sunday it was the worst tasteless dinner ever, with extra's a chicken foot with the skin and hair on it we all felt sick, to be fair we did throw out more than we ate. Thank god as I think we would have been ill.Firstly we ordered a meal deal for one, chicken and sweetcorn soup, chicken curry and prawn crackers, a portion of BBQ ribs and chicken noodle soup, it was obviously to hard for the girl to take the order as she forgot the chicken noodle soup, although we were not charged for it, she did however offer to get it sent out but it was to late by that time.The chicken noodle-soup was very tasted like kettle water with some noodles and chicken had been put in a plastic container, it needed loads of salt and pepper even then it was horrible.Where do I start with the curry it had no taste either and to my disgust it had a chicken foot in it, which put me and my family right off eating it.I can't comment on the BBQ ribs as after that we put it in the bin, I felt I'll the next day.We will not be going back totally disgusting.The prawn crackers were nice but how could you get them wrong.If I could give it a minus I would, save your money and your health and don't go.
