Jimmy Spice's in Birmingham

Spent my partners 27th birthday at Jimmy Spices, whilst the food was decent the service was appalling. Staff seemed like they did not want to engage or answer queries/questions. I had told them to bring out the birthday cake that we had brought around 1 hour before they close, and despite numerous chasing they brought it out 5 minutes before closing and we wasn’t even able to eat the cake. As they brought it out they had started lighting the candles directly in-front of my partner and ruined the whole Surprise, what preparation took 55 minutes when the candles were not placed or even lit. They did not bring any cutlery or plates of any kind. Shortly after that we were told we needed to leave as they were closing.

We went there after a very long time, thought there must be something different after a long time but we were very disappointed there was not many vegetarian options and on the desserts side there was a verities but all of them were awful. so overall we did not have a nice evening. so probably we won't be going again in near future.

I had a bad experience today and the staff was rude as well. My family eats slowly and staff came and said that you are allowed to sit only for 2 hours and asked us to vacate immediately. It is not mentioned anywhere or they didn't inform us about this 2 hour restriction when we asked for table. The lady didn't even greet us when we were coming in. I asked about something at the dessert section and the staff member was not even helpful and he was very rude. Similar experience at naan section as well. The chef has burnt the naan when we asked for one.

The food was too good. Plenty of options to choose from. Perfect for family and friends get togethers. Nydile was too sweet and made us comfortable all the time.

Date of visit…21/02/25 What can I say? The food was cold unless it was cooked in front of you. Everything I chose was lacking in flavour. The chefs were really miserable, not one greeted me courteously, so when I took my plate, I didn’t thank them because that’s how they made me feel. The waiters were fine, they were friendly enough. The gents toilets were minging and nose dirt on the walls. Definitely was not value for money. Would I go back……NO! Would I recommend…..NO! Gave one star overall as the lift was working so I could make a hasty retreat. How anyone could state they had a great experience is beyond me! And my expectations are not high!!

Giving a 1 start not because of the service or the food. I hope this review will flag up - went for a dinner here on the 15th feb evening- a lady who seemed to be the manager was treating her staff member terribly and I believe at one point even told one of the servers to shut up and go away very publicly -as I heard it - to the lady treat your staff better they are employees and not there to be treated rudely -these servers do work so hard and in my experience are doing a great job under such a fast paced environment - management to take note

Went here today for lunch with mate. The food was ok service was good . But we felt very rushed . The staff was very attentive in collecting empty plates. Which is not the issue . The place was busy but not full . We had 2 plates food and 1 pudding . We had only being there under 1 hour. Soon as we took our last bite food . They did not give us chance . They was over asking if we ready pay bill . Found this rather rude and pushing us to leave . The bill came to £36.95 drinks seem on the high side for pepsi Will we return again no due to feeling rushed out

Worst sweet and sour chicken ever tried in my life, it's not even sweet chicken taste bad theres missing pineapple and that gravy is just so bad I'm sorry but I'm so disappointed first & last time buying from here thank you

The staff are friendly and efficient. The drinks are overpriced, and the food was pretty bad apart from the avocado over in the taco section, and the onion rings. Those onion rings are absolutely outstanding 👌 the ice cream and cake section was really very nice as well.

Went today for a family birthday meal options available are limited for what is advertised and the options available are not the best so I had veg spring roll chicken tikka salad was expecting much more variety and range with more thought and effort with love in the cooking I've been once I won't return I've had better buffets wich are worth the food being served price high also and the staff was OK I wouldn't requmend much better food quality and choices else where value for money else where

Waiter who’s in charge of the desserts was rude shouting at us for opening a new tub of ice cream because the current one was finished and had chocolate ice cream mixed which I’m allergic to, then he starts speaking his language to another waiter i understood everything he said, will not visit again, I been to many restaurants met many waiters but not someone with this sort of attitude, Jimmy spices you need to sort your staff out

Went at lunch time. Been to many buffets before and the food, not a great selection, some of it was not good at all. The cooking stations lacked flavour and all of it: fish, steak and stir fry had birn oil taste. Curries were alright and chilli. I noticed that there qas a seating plan going on: We were with a small child, waiter sat us by the wall where it was dark, and the nice window seats with a nice decor saw that adults only sat there. Its like, children dont deserve to be sat in nice places.

Awful experience at this place, ordered a mocktail from the waiter and they serve me a cocktail bearing in mind I’m Muslim and do not drink. Despite repeatedly telling the staff there is alcohol in the drink they were still denying the fact. And the waiter was still lying saying it’s a non alcoholic drink. Absolutely shambles of a place any Muslim please be careful when ordering from this place as the staff wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between salt and sugar never mind a beverage.

I was amazed by the varieties of food, and the taste was worth the price. Atmosphere and vibe of the place is nice as well. Great service, and worth mentioning a few people who I felt are doing great work - Ms Kimia, Ms Dia and Ms Atiya. They were helpful, kind and always ready for the service. Thank you for that.

Had a wonderful time at Jimmy Spice’s! The food selection was huge, with something for everyone. I especially enjoyed the freshly made dishes at the live cooking stations. Some items were better than others, but overall, the quality was good for a buffet. What really made the experience special was our server, Kimia. She was so polite and welcoming, always checking in with a smile. It’s rare to find such great service at a busy buffet, but she made sure we were well taken care of. Would definitely recommend this place good food, lively atmosphere, and top-notch service from Kimia!

Our main waiter Sauchal was very good and provided quick service. The food was excellent. However, the atmosphere on Saturday evenings is very loud, and may disturb some.

Visited yesterday, and I must say the food was extremely disappointing standards have dropped drastically. The lamb chops were questionable; they didn’t even taste like lamb, were incredibly chewy, and completely tasteless. The beef steak was no better flavourless. While the stir fry was decent, the ice cream was a letdown compared to my last visit; the chocolate sauce was no longer creamy as it used to be. Overall, the experience was a waste of £24. I won’t be visiting Jimmy Spices again.

Food wasn't the greatest. A lot of it was cold. Was not much choice of different currys. Chicken wings cold. Chips was cold, Pizza was like rubber. Looked like most of it had been out all day Had voucher which they refused to except. Very disappointed for the price.

Jimmy spices once a very popular buffet spots in Birmingham is now a huge disappointment. Most of the dishes were either bland or overly salty. Definitely not the fresh, variety-packed experience I was expecting. The meat (in particular the steak and lamb chops) was difficult to chew and tasteless. I will not be visiting again.
