Jerk Shack NQ in Manchester

The food here is so good! Loads of different meat and veggie options too. I had a chickpea curry which was delicious. Such good value for the absolute stack of food you get too. Would recommend to anyone visiting Manchester and would go back.

I was drawn in to the Jerk Shack by the fantastic smell while walking past, and was so glad I did after trying their chicken wings. They are fab - Smokey and spicy chicken wings. Really tasty!!!

The best chicken I’ve ever eaten! Absolutely delicious chicken, extremely tasty and tangible to the tastebuds! Delicious, delectable and delightful! Favourite, flavoursome and fruity! I’d recommend to anyone who wants to eat a good meal, with really good customer service. The staff were helpful, I felt welcomed and warm and I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you so much for the meal and I will be back soon to munch some more chicken. I’ll be sending as many people to Jerk Shack as I can, it’s an experience that you simply can’t miss out on! JERK SHACK!

Sadly they've have been closed during some of the latter waves of Covid (check Instagram for up to date openings), but one of my favourite lunch spots in Manc. They do a massive selection of varying vegan curries, served with rice and peas and creamy vegan coleslaw. Really big portions, esp for the price and always really tasty. I've had the Jackfruit split too which was also great. Can't wait for them to reopen again

I took my family into Manchester for the afternoon and one of my sons spotted Jerk Shack. It was the best food in England the entire week. I hint of heat but tolerable to our American tongues. If you don't know what you want, they will make a mixed plate for you. This is a "whole in the wall" and that is what I look for. They tend to be the best and this plaxe proves the rule.

Spent a few days shopping with the family, we visited the shack every day! The food was great, very affordable and a good atmosphere! Will definitely call in again next time we’re visiting Manchester. The chef gave me some gravy to take home!!! A must if you like Caribbean food...

On way home from work . No breakfast or lunch . Saw this place for the first time . Reminded me of overseas places where you get good cheap food and nothing fancy . I left feeling really satisfied . Good spicy chicken and rice for £6.50 ! Manchester is changed . It's all subway ,Mac d etc . This is real food and plenty of it . Good chilli sauce .

I don't often leave such bad reviews, but I am doing this because I feel so strongly about what I experienced. I am from a Caribbean background and was shocked at these people's interpretation of Caribbean food. Do they use scotch bonnet peppers? Do they use authentic Caribbean spices? Who puts tomatoes in curried mutton? The meat should also be soft to a point where it's falling off the bone. Whatever I ate at this place (I won't call it jerk chicken or curry mutton) was just disgusting. The meat from the curry even tasted like it was gone off. Avoid, especially if you know what good Caribbean food tastes like.

One of the best cheap eats in Manchester. £5 will sort you out! The chicken split is bloody brilliant, nice atmosphere and some good music as well. Genuinely couldn’t recommend it enough. Well priced, completely home cooked jerk food. Is there anything not to love?

Just had lunch at the Jerk Shack. Really good food at a reasonable price. Had barbecued chicken, salad and rice. Great staff especially Jonney. Would highly recommend.

Visited on a Monday around half 12 and we ordered the mutton curry. Was not disappointed for £7.50 we got a big portion with lots of tasty slow cooked mutton, rice and peas, fresh leafy salad and red cabbage coleslaw. We also ordered some tried plantain on the side (, delicious)if your looking for an authentic Jamaican lunch for an affordable price then this is the place to go better quality and tastier than the well known Caribbean chain! Just arrive early during lunch rush if you want to eat in as it gets very busy! Will be returning when next in Manchester x
