Pull Up in Manchester

Went there last week and the food was amazing. Compliments to the chef honestly. It wasn't only the food that had blown me away but also the staff they kept checking to make sure everything was okay and the service was extremely fast. I was impressed by the music they had playing it set the mood whilst me and my friends were enjoying our delicious meal. Will be back for sure 🩷. I highly recommend this place.

Should have paid attention to the lack of custom on a Saturday to realise this place isn't as good as the reviews state. The place was basically empty yet it took staff a long time to approach our table and serve us. Ordered moretti and what we received was NOT that, tasted like house lager just in a moretti glass, very frustrating and dissapointing when paying premium prices. Already not off to a great start, the food was mediocre at best. Ordered the jerk chicken with extra gravy and rice. The extra gravy tasted just like your make at home granuals with chicken bits in it. The chicken was extremely dry but the jerk sauce made it edible. Wouldn't eat here again and certainly wouldn't reccomend.

Brilliant went for a meal with my girlfriend good food so nice and friendly warm and welcoming will be definitely coming back well done keep up the good work nice ambiance and vibe

Came here last night. Service was really slow to begin with, one of the girls serving was quite rude/unfriendly. Ordered the hench box, peppered steak was extremely chewy, jerk chicken is just some chicken on the bone with some sauce poured over it. The food is good but it’s definitely not authentic Caribbean. Staff drinking at the bar not taking any notice of customers.

Catching up with my bro before a gig around the corner …we couldn’t decide what we wanted so just shared two mains and a bunch of sides …the jerk chicken was spot on and the curry goat was amazing ! The house special rum was pretty special too, but beware of the scotch bonnet …lovely flavour but super strength - I had to ask for a glass of milk …ha ha ! Superb value for money too …definitely be going again and recommend to friends !

This was honestly the worst food I have had from a Caribbean restaurant ever. I am not one to leave a bad review. If the food is just ok I will happily not say anything. I ordered via deliveroo and NOTHING was anywhere close to authentic or even based on good ingredients. The most disappointing food I have had in 20 years. I had to throw what was left away.

Absolutely amazing if you don't know about pull up go and get to know for yourself it's more than just a bar it's the atmosphere, the food the music and the staff and the events and topics, all genders, race no matter who you are just Pull up!!!!!!!!!

Best lambchops I’ve ever had! Everybody should go and try them! Amazing sauce! Good ambience, good music and super friendly staff. We ended up here tonight because our plane was cancelled, this restaurant made our day!

Service was poor, two female servers looked unapproachable as they didn't smile or make eye contact, one was walking around eating and the other took too long to take our order. Food order came out wrong despite being charged for the correct order and food portions weren't particularly matched to price. But food was good.

The jerk chicken had never seen marinade. Just a basic small piece of roast chicken with flabby skin and some basic jerk sauce poured over the top. It’s a shame because the family that run the truck in levenshume are the same family that run pull up. The truck is fantastic but the food in Pull up is so far away from authentic Jamaican food. Never again ….

First time last week. Food was decent, albeit smaller portion size than I imagined. Atmosphere was ok given we went in an awkward time at 4pm but it was the service that really let it down for me. Our server was cold and she was the only one working. I was with my friends, we all realised pretty quickly she was very cold, barely smiled, it’s like she didn’t want to be here. When she did smile, it was obviously fake where she smiled and then stopped immediately. Just no warmth or joy. Felt fake. No one asked how our food was. I usually tip but didn’t. Would not return based on the poor and awkward service.

This is a fantastic hidden gem. If you can handle some heat you will like most of the menu. The cocktails are great as well. They are not measured and you get generous amounts of spirit. I have rarely dined at a place that has a high quality of food and drink. The icing on the cake was the owner Sharon. She is lovely : - )

The food though presented really well lacked that authentic Caribbean flavour or any flavour at all. It was quite bland! I'll assume that was just on the day (It happens!) The environ was beautiful and transporting (I didn't feel as if I was in Manchester), very nice. A lot of thought and work went into creating that I'm sure.

My partner and I popped in here on a Friday night for a spontaneous cocktail. They were so good we decided to eat here too and are so glad that we did! Everything is packed full of flavour where the heat is balanced without being overpowering. Mouthwatering jerk chicken perfectly complimented by coconut rice. A shout out for the halloumi side with a delicious chip shop style batter, spicy sauce all of which is topped off with peppers and mango. The cocktails were some of the best we’ve ever tasted with the amaretto cherry lime sour a highlight. These are strong drinks where you get your monies worth! But the real jewel in the crown are the staff themselves. Sharon the manager came over to chat with us and made us feel really at home. We mentioned the lovely chap who was making the cocktails which turned out to be her son. You can tell this is a family business and there is real pride which shines through the food and drink. The atmosphere is like being on holiday - reggae tunes the perfect accompanying background music and not too loud so you can still have a conversation. We cannot wait to come back and join this party again :-)

The portions look normal size, but it’s actually really filling and I couldn’t finish my plate today. Definitely recommend the goat meat :) atmosphere was nice, music a bit too loud and service okay.

The Pull-up bar in Manchester's Ancoats neighborhood is a great choice if you are craving Caribbean/Jamaican cuisine. Try the Big Plates. The food was full of flavour, and their cocktails were fantastic. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a great spot for a night out. I would highly recommend it if you find yourself in Ancoats wanting some Caribbean fare and drinks in a vibrant setting.

Great vibe! Attended the spoken word night on Monday and absolutely loved it. Dani Wright's art work is incredible- so talented. The poets words were beautiful. Overall a great night!

The face you only got jerk chicken for over £9 is Criminal in my opinion as an Jamaican the sauce is definitely not jerk at all wouldn’t recommend the chicken or their so called ‘chips’ which was basically just potato squares however their curry goat tasted very authentic and was delicious however there needs to be bigger portions of coleslaw and less rice

This place is FANTASTIC!!! Their should be a Pull Up Bar Cafe in every city in England. The food is fantastic with hench portions! I can't recommend this place enough. A brilliant night out with friends

We popped in to Pull Up for a quick bite to eat before a good at Band on the Wall opposite. I wish we'd had time to stay longer. I had Saltfish with beans and rice, and my son had chicken wings - both absolutely delicious. The saltfish was the best thing I've eaten for quite some time. A really friendly, laid back place to eat with truly wonderful food.

First time visit. pleased to find it was authentic carribean food. Varied menu, vegan and veggie options. I had the vegan box whilst my partner had the fish box. They also do jerk chicken / halloumi, ackee and salt fish and curried goat. Lots of lovely cocktails too. We will be back!

I don't think that's Jamaican food The curry goat was in this heavy sauce I a boul like soup Jamaican would never searve like that .I didn't enjoy it rice was cold definitely not the taste of JA people need to stop using JA names I would not recommend .that thick sauce make u want to feel sick like you want to throw up

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The service from the staff was good. The owner herself came over and welcomed us and spoke with us for a while when we were leaving. The ambience and atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. The service from the chef and staff was great. They made sure everything was okay with the food and service, all the way through. We highly recommend the Pull Up Bar and will come again.

Amazing place in between Nq and ancoats , food was super tasty we had the Sunday roast and it had everything! The owner and workers are so warm and friendly can’t recommend enough !

From the minute we walked in we we felt at home in this intimate bar/restaurant. The staff were super attentive and very welcoming. We started with some cocktails which were out of this world but even they had to take a back seat to the incredible food. A MA ZING. Afterwards we were approached by the owner who asked if there was anything we’d change. Not one single thing. This was a 5 star experience. Oh and very good value too for a place that’s in the super trendy Northern Quarter.

Bit of a funny one. I had a carribean roast dinner, which in hindsight might not have been the best move. The chicken was cooked absolutely beautifully, but the assortment of things on the plate was kind of weird. I wish I'd just ordered from the main menu, so I could try what they usually serve. I like the environment, it's casual and inviting and was a fairly nice place to chill. We went on a silly hot day so it was dead, yet the service seemed kind of scattered and a little confused (though that may have been because of the heat). I enjoyed it but won't be rushing back for a roast. Though I will like to return to try their normal menu, as I suspect it will reflect the chef's skill better.

ordered chicken and halloumi and both were amazing! the seasoning for the chicken was great and the halloumi although was a bit spicy, was perfect. The environment super was super friendly and food came by very quickly. really recommend!

Had an amazing time here, food was great, however, the rum punch was a little bit watery and less sweet than usual and the portion sizes were running on the smaller side if we compared it to The Drop in Chorlton. Overall it was a nice one.

Ordered the jerk chicken and rice. It tasted very westernised. It was really bad and not worth 13 pounds.

My favourite place to be at the moment the flavours of food is great music is good from start to finish and the drinks are nice too. It's that good I brought my parents and said it was 10/10 well done guys it's hard for find quality and quantity for a reasonable price.

Disappointed, ordered pepper steak and it was under seasoned, no flavour, with poor quality meat. A very small bowl of rice and peas cost £4.00, again no flavour, very little pea in it, and a small amount of coconut sprinkled on top. The wedges are overpriced, tiny portion and dry! And the jerk chicken is overpriced and doesn’t taste like jerk. Will not be eating here again, it is not authentic Jamaican food. (Turtle Bay would be of similar quality but cheaper) Great service and friendly staff but didn’t leave a tip because the food was so overpriced and underwhelming. Terrible loud RnB music playing

The food got a five star cause it struck the balance between quality and quantity. Come in here with an empty stomach and you'll leave full and satisfied. If you love Caribbean food, I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is nice and the staff very friendly too. It's perfect for a date night too.

Amazing food and service at pull up. I went for my birthday and we had a table of 10. Pre- ordered food which made it easy for us when we all arrived as they brought it out at the same time. Cocktails were also amazing and really well presented. The vibe was very social and music was rnb / reggae which our group loved. The staff were also so helpful with other requests that we had so will definitely recommend and come here again.

Best Jerk Chicken I had in the UK! Lovely atmosphere!

I was taken here as a surprise meal for my birthday on 18/02/23 what an experience, from the moment we walked in we were greeted by a staff member with a beaming smile and taken to our table. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing and everyone had a great time what an atmosphere this restaurant has. I would like to thank the owner and the staff for looking after us, the owner even led everyone in singing me happy birthday what a lovely woman. If you get the opportunity definitely go here

My husband and I visited Pull Up for a meal and drinks last night. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and were straight away impressed by the decor and the atmosphere. The service was fantastic, our food and drinks came quickly and were absolutely delicious. Great portions too. The music was on point and really got us in the mood for the rest of our evening. Would 100% recommend, we will definitely be back!

2nd time visiting this establishment and wow what a difference the food was from previous could not taste it at all all u did taste was pepper had to have a drink with every mouthful had curried goat was dreadfull partner been of Jamaican heritage was not happy pepper killed it meat was tough didn’t fall off the bone as should struggle to cut it with the nife and I defiantly wasn’t using my fingers didn’t complain inside as was valentines nite and didn’t want to cause a scene definitely won’t be returning sorry guys but we are still in shock had better from the local takeaway

Had the Reggae Roast on a Sunday afternoon. Pull Up has such a nice, cozy vibe about it. Comfortable cushions seats and plenty of light whilst the music plays on in the background. The Roast was absolutely delicious, would recommend coming here to eat! The venue itself was clean with good bathroom facilities. The service was warm, albeit a bit slow (could put this down to it being Sunday).

Just had my first experience in this place for my 30th birthday for a quite meal the food was amazing thr staff are really friendly and accommodating, if your looking for a place to blow your taste buds out the park this is the spot for you.

An authentic Caribbean restaurant that has a warm feeling within. The place is clean and tidy, not too big and has a varied selection of music playing in the background. Pull Up Bar is great to experience by yourself, with a group of friends, family or if you're on a date. The food is presented artistically with exceptional flavours to match.

I had the time of my life here and loved the food, drink and the wonderful exercise.

Food was great, however, there was one woman behind the bar who was so rude. We were so friendly (as we always are) but she was incredibly blunt and stand offish and when we asked to split the bill she rolled her eyes and walked off. She just made us feel really uncomfortable. Luckily there was a guy who took over (it was obviously too hard for her to come back with a split bill) and he was so so lovely, she ruined the evening in there for us to be honest

Got to the grand old age of 45 without ever having been to a carribean restaurant. Phenomenal place, stumbled upon it and the food was fantastic, as were the staff always a smile on their face and more than helpful. Thoroughly recommend and next time I have my yearly visit to the MCR, I'll be popping back in

Excellent food, brilliant service! My boyfriend and I stopped in here on Saturday evening. We were only going to have a drink but after looking at the menu we decided to stay for dinner. Everything was ace! The food was so delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Went as a family for my daughters birthday, all the meals we had were delicious. I had the pepper steak box, the meat was really tender and the rice was lovely. The staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend We will definitely visit again.

We ate here before going to a gig at Band on the Wall. They went to great lengths to fit us in even though they were booked up. I had the chicken wings with jerk sauce and my partner had the goat curry. The food was pipng hot, fresh and really tasty and the pricing was fair.

We arrived in Manchester, hungry and to be honest didn't know what the restaurant served. What I can say was the food was wholesome, home cooked, fresh, filling and tasty and next time we would stay longer (we had to race off). But Very nice.

We both got the dish with everything i cant remember the name! It was flavoursome but didnt taste exactly the same as other curry goats i have had in the past. The jerk chicken was nice but was more like oven roasted than jerk The dumplings, rice and plantains were delicious and we both enjoyed our meal 😃 The pitcher was so lovely!! The vibe was nice, great tunes playing and clean would recommend!

Lovely cafe hidden away on swan street Manchester selling authentic carribbean food. The staff are friendly and helpful the beer was good. Always best to reserve seats. I had the chicken & chop box which has jersey chicken, lamb chops, plantain, dumplings, slaw and coconut rice n peas.

Great home made authentic Caribbean Food ! Very warm welcoming service, Goods Vibes! The Goat curry , rice and peas was unreal ! fresh, tasty with a little kick to it ! High recomend this little Gem
