Had to give one star for Food, as I didn’t get my promised ‘brekkie in the bag’ when I stayed here. I came down to reception (at around 9:30am), asked for my breakfast, only to be told that the person dealing with ‘breakfast in the bag’ has left early. Was there a cut off time I may have missed?

We booked Ducie street for a special Birthday meal and it was honestly the worst dining experience I have ever had in Manchester. There appeared to be several other events on at the same time including a wedding and the restaurant was closed which we were not informed of when booking. This resulted us being seated in the cafe area basically by the door. The venue was freezing cold and we had to keep our coats on the whole time. The table wasn't set for enough people despite the booking so we had to get extra chairs ourselves and we had to ask to be given menus. After ordering food we were then told that several items were unavailable. After 45 minutes of waiting for food one of the party asked the waitress how much longer the food would be, they then returned a considerable amount of time later and we and we were told it would be another 15-20 minutes. The staff were the rudest I have ever experienced in a restaurant and the waitress stormed off multiple times during the conversation. The food then arrived and was stone cold and inedible so we left and ate elsewhere. Not once was an apology offered by the staff, we were met with rude responses.

Third time I’ve been today and although I’ve had problems with service there before being too slow and unorganised - thought I’d give it another chance. I wish I hadn’t bothered. Went for a Sunday roast which said on the menu “all Sunday roasts come with potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, greens and glazed carrots”… When they came out it was a thin fatty slice of meat and a Yorkshire on a plate with the tiniest drizzle of gravy. Then 5 minutes later a bowl of anaemic looking potato’s and kale come out. (This was between 3 people for context). After asking the waiter if there was anything missing or if we were still waiting on anything he look at me and said “no this is everything”, turned and went to walked away. I asked up if I could see a menu again as I knew I was sure I read about extra veg. He huffed went to get a menu came back, threw it down on the table and continued to walk away mid conversation. After re-reading the menu to clarify I was correct I stood up and went over to the front of the restaurant where he and other members of staff were having a loverly little chat. I asked about the carrots or if there was any other veg and he told me no there wasn’t. I showed him the menu where it said extra veg and he pulled a face and just shrugged and turned his back on me once again. Not only was this man clearly untrained with the skills it takes to be a waiter he was very much rude and has a severe attitude problem. I asked to see the manager to try and resolve the situation. I explained what had happened and she replied with, “okay let me sort this”. We also asked for extra gravy at this point to try and enjoy what food we had been given. 10 minutes later the gravy still hasn’t come out. I flag her down again and ask her where is was for her to tell me she’s forgotten all about it. There was extra veg on the way though - at the end of the meal when everything had already been eaten. But this had only just been communicated to us and was quite frankly too late. £20 per person for a roast dinner and all you get is bowl of potatoes and kale to share… taking the Micky if you ask me. In the end we paid for the drinks and the food was taken off the bill because I think even she knew how much of a royal f* up that the meal had been. Bless her though she actually seemed like a nice person - a little bit like a rabbit in headlights but a nice person nonetheless. It’s such a shame as the actual venue itself is gorgeous and it has got so much potential. But with lazy and rude staff and an unqualified manager who lacks the leadership skills to run a restaurant or control a team it seems that the spot it’s currently an overpriced shhh*t show. Do not waste your money - there are hundreds of better places to eat a Sunday roast in Manchester.

Very very poor experience. Visited on a Sunday for a roast as seen online and over socials that this looked lovely. All I will say is the overall experience was very disappointing. Service was extremely limited. After ordering our food this came out on time. Very underwhelming as the only veg that was came with this was roast potatoes and kale, definitely not worth the money when its meat yorkshire pudding potatoes and kale. When the question was raised that this should infact come with carrots and seasonal veg, we were told it didn't, the waiter then walked off, brought a menu over and threw this on the table and walked off. After speaking with the manageress and her apologising, we asked for more gravy. After a considerable amount of time and finishing our dinner, the gravy then arrived. The manageress did resolve all of the above issues for us on our visit, but unfortunately, it was a little too late. The food I cannot fault as this was lovely so compliments to the chefs, just annoying the service was so poor.

This is a stunning location let down by appalling staff. I have frequently over the last couple of years since it re-launch and, though the redesign inside is stunning, the service has gone steadily downhill. When you order food or drink, they'll tell you "don't worry, we'll bring it to your table," but it's 50-50 as to whether it'll ever turn up. Staff appear as clueless as they are unapologetic when you chase them up about it. Essentially, there's no leadership and nobody seems to care.

Despite living around the corner, and being in the demographic that this business is trying to attract, I have not been to Ducie Street Warehouse for nearly a year. The last time I went, the food was passable, service was non-existant, and when asked how my visit was I shared this... to be told by the Duty Manager to look at instagram and Tripadvisor, becuase most people love the place. But I needed somewhere to work from this week, and fancied a bite to eat too. So I thought I would give DSW another chance. Sadly, the scourge of "hipster hospitality" still rules here and it felt that they were intentionally understaffed. My server was Indie. She was GREAT! But she was left to look after almost the entire groundfloor, whilst "managers" worked on their laptops behind the bar. What is "hipster hospitality" you may ask? It is the trap many trendy operators fall into... as long as the space looks cool & hip, the staff look trendy & edgy, and the guests are fashionable with a MacBook... then actual caring and genuinely attentive service can go out of the window to save on costs. DSW is the epitome of this for me. Fool me once, fool me twice.... but not thrice.

Never actually written a review before but feel it’s needed..Waited 20 mins for the drinks menu (had to remind the staff) then after ordering our server dissapeared…30 mins waiting for a starter and after an hour our food arrived (only after complaining to staff)…asked for the bill and then waited for another 15 mins to pay…there was no staff in sight so went up to the kitchen and still had to wait again there to pay. We did get offered some wine on the house but the experience was so bad it still definitely wasn’t worth what we had to pay.

The food here is amazing, the schnitzel and the burger are to die for and the Frankie mustard sauce it heavenly. We had one specific waitress called Kayla who went above and beyond to make us accommodated. There was 50% of that night so very busy and unfortunately quite a wait for food and drink but Kayla was extremely apologetic and gave us free drinks for how long the wait was, she didn’t have to do this and we were more than happy to pay but she did it out of the kindness of her heart. That girl deserves a pay rise asap! Overall amazing atmosphere and food just was busy and quite slow but could depend on the night

Service was incredible only reason I'm giving a 3 star review not 2. A chap by the name of Jamie served us, he was lovely and has avoided the more savage side of my reviewing for you. Okay, the sourdough and coloured butter at £6 ..burnt sourdough and warm oil . Sent straight back. Houmous ... The houmous was nice but just throwing chunky veg on top and no warm breads with it at £7.50 ... No .. the receipt even said houmous and flatbread we didn't get any? The chicken schnitzel my partner says was lovely, the burnt / charred lettuce on top not so much. I went for the burger, extra bacon. Lots of flavour around the burger but the party itself was a vapid, fatty, flavourless mass. One which I can feel unpleasantly heavy in my stomach 4 hours later. Fries were ok House white at £25 per bottle was actually nice. It was 50 percent off the food in January but the burger still needed to go in the bin. Loved the service and atmos.

Stayed here this weekend in a Premium Studio. Cost over £300 (with £50 damage deposit) for a 2 night stay and I am convinced the room was not checked and cleaned properly before our stay. This was booked for my partners birthday and we left very disappointed. First of all the room and place is mis-advertised resulting in mis-selling. The room is advertised with a streaming service on TV (like netflix). All we had was free-view. It's advertised as City-View. We were overlooking the car park enterance. Its advertised as a coffee shop on site, there is no coffee shop. Its advertised as a mini-market on site, its more like a tuck shop. The towels on offer were dirty (had food on them) so clearly hadn't been washed. We asked at reception for a replacement, while this was replaced by housekeeping, the dirty towel wasn't taken away. So all weekend we've had a used/dirty towel in the bathroom. There was supposed to be a hairdryer in the room, we found an empty hairdryer bag. Clearly the booking before us have taken it (hence the suspicion of room not been correctly checked before our stay. Finally, we had to ask twice before our milk was topped up and this was only done because we took it up to our room. There is a premier Inn across the road, we'll stay there in future. Very disappointed in the stay!

Brought here by a friend. Pre booked a table Thursday 7pm Politely seated and welcomed with menus by a lovely server. We asked for a bottle of white wine, two small plates, (beef sliders and a chicken one,) a pinsa to share, fries and fresh vegetables. To be honest I'm a country bumpkin and much of the menu was "Greek to me, my friend is far more educated and sorted the food. All the meal was perfectly cooked, delicious and beautifully presented. Whilst we hadn't met up for a while and therefore in no hurry I didn't notice any undue delay in being served with our freshly prepared order. Whilst in from the sticks for the evening. I do eat in Manchester occasionally this meal was by far the most original and surprising I've had for a while. My thanks to the staff for a lovely evening and meal. The bill for £84 included the service charge, all the food and a £28 bottle of wine. Amazing value!!!

The second occasion we had gone on a works do, we had pre ordered food, which they had run out of? It took us a 1 hour and a half to get any food. Again no drinks were brought to us, charged us for food they had forgotten to give us. This time the food was not great, chicken wings were poor and over sauced. Really poor service and even when asked again multiple times for our drinks they didn’t arrive. We weren’t even brought basic things like fresh knifes and forks? We wouldn't be returning at all now. Lastly, they didn’t ask any questions about allergies at the table, which is normal procedure at other restaurants on both occasions.

Unfortunately the indie films at the mini cinema were absolutely dire! There is SO MUCH amazing art house cinema out there to choose from, and this was the selection? It was such a bad bunch, we were in stitches. The last ‘feature length’ film was so full of cliches. What a shame. The bar area is cool and we really, really wanted the films to be good, but it was not to be. Also the advertised times suggest there will be two hours of films, but actually it’s only an hour. The other hour accommodates a very late start, lots of small talk, some excuses about the technology not working, a looong interval (after only 30 mins) and a pointless voting charade. We just wanted good films, none of that stuff.

The place was beautiful and lively with singer in the lobby. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, from the hotel receptionist, to the restaurant host, to our server Freddie, to the team member who directed me to the toilet. How the food is anther matter. Our starters were tasty and enjoyable, but definitely could have been hotter. The mains however.....the worst burgers we have ever had! They were terrible! They were so bad, that after a couple of bites, we asked Freddie over to make sure we didn't have the veggie bugers by accident. We were assured that they were beef and then I asked if he had ever had one of their burgers and he said he had and he liked them. We then tried again, but the ultra processed beef was more akin to liver than hamburger, with a sheen to the edge when you cut them. Each bite tasted like rubber. We couldn't even eat half of them. They were cleared and again we commented on how disappointing they were. We were told one would be taken off the bill but unfortunately it was not. We paid the bill and left not wanting to make even more of a fuss. It's too bad as we were really enjoying our time up until then.

The atmosphere of this place is great. We came on a Saturday night and the food was out of this world! The service from the waitresses and waiters was second to none, however, the issue is with the amount of time it takes to get a drink from the bar or the food from the kitchen! You can see into the kitchen and it’s clear that no one is in any rush or under any stress to get anything out. We sat down and ordered drinks and it took half an hour to have the drinks prepared by the bar. We were warned that there was an event elsewhere in the building so there was a delay on the food and that was fine but it did take a very long time for anything to get produced by the kitchen including a side that just about made it out before we finished the main. Dessert also took half an hour to come out despite it surely being prepared in advance? I think the kitchen and bar staff need a rocket up their backside to make it really a 5 star venue.

Consistently terrible food and service if it wasn't due to work putting me up here when I'm travelling I'd be avoiding, something I'd advise.

Took ages for coffee to arrive so had to rush it. The person I met ordered a Danish that arrived about an hour after she ordered it as they "hadn't come in yet". On the plus side there's loads of space and you're not so close to other people that you could hear their conversations.

Hello Ducie Street W. It’s a Wednesday and arrived by train so 3 mins from Mcr Piccadilly Stn was perfect. Found it via Google and what a great space. Big, really nicely done (I believe there’s a hotel above it) - couldn’t tell where the bar ended and restaurant started - which I liked. We shared a mix of small and medium plates. The ‘fondue for one’ was delicious as were the calamari, lamb koftas and butternut squash salad. Servers were friendly and happy to discuss the dishes. Shout out to Lucinda for looking after us! We will be back after we finish these Martinis…

I went on a Thursday night, I think (on this night), it was lively, energetic, and a great place for catch ups/ chill nights. This night was not for couples/ romantic dining but food was incredible and fun... all my faves as tapas style! Decent enough wine... fab service

I had the pleasure of dining at Ducie Street for Sunday dinner, and it was truly a delightful experience. The food was scrumptious, and the venue had a charming atmosphere. My only minor complaint is that I wished the portion size was a bit larger. However, that won't deter me from returning with friends in the future. Can't wait to be back!

We stayed at Native for 4 nights with 2 young children. There was absolutely no form of service, arrogant and rude people at the frontdesk and in the restaurant mostly worried about themselves, overpriced medium food. Fun for a night out but that’s it.

The young woman on the bar was rude, we had to wait ages to get served, I asked her very politely if they had more staff, she just blanked me. It was an average venue.

A stunningly converted warehouse in the heart of Manchester. The space is vast and airy, with soaring ceilings and plenty of natural light. The atmosphere is relaxed and stylish, with a mix of exposed brickwork and modern furnishings. It's a great place to go for a meal, drinks, or a night out. I would highly recommend it!

Went for a coffee around mid day . I thought the service was very poor . The two serving were more concerned with chatting to each other . Only one person in front of me but finally gave up and left .

Love this place, went to see a stand-up comedian here, Jacob Hawley, and had a beer and a half. Very trendy young hip place got a lot going for it. If I'm in the area, I will try the food next time.
