Jerk & Serve in Kingston upon Thames

I’ve just noticed the shop has closed down and I’m not surprised. Personally I thought the food was overpriced and had multiple bad experiences at this place.

Do you guys still do Apple Crumble? If not why? I loved it, just like I love everything else

Good tasting food but portions are very small for the price. A £12 "large meal" contained four bits of chicken, about half of which was bone. The rest was rice.

Great food, great staff and great location (for me) would recommend one of everything

Ordered takeaway from here and am highly impressed! Food was beautifully cooked with large portions and extremely tasty even had my extremely fussy 11 year old clearing their plate! Will moat definitely be ordering again.

Lovely food, however my suspicions regarding it being fresh were always questioned given the appearance on collection. I don’t think they cook it in the shop, and I believe another review confirmed this stating that hey witnessed a lady transporting food trays from a car into the shop. This is really dangerous, and gives room for bacteria to grow given the temperature conditions in the car etc. My boyfriend had Jerk Chicken with rice, and ended up *suffering* from food poisoning. This has left a very bad taste in our mouth and probabaly won’t be visiting again, it’s a shame as the food is very tasty. However given the measures and safety protocols when storing food safely, God only knows how seriously this is taken. Would happily drive further into south London for fresher Caribbean Food.

Food tastes incredible, jerk chicken with rice and pea is perfect spice, char and seasoning! Asked for a bit of curry sauce on the side for the rice but was turned down - a lot of jerk places tend to allow it for the rice to soak up some of that flavour. Portion sizes are poor to be fair - I had a large jerk chicken and rice for 12 pound and it came in the same size a curry would at an Indian takeaway or a Chinese takeaway jammed in. Bit stingy and could've had two servings which would be 24 pound for one person, probably not value for money. Annoyed because value for money is bad, service was a bit meh couldn't put some curry sauce in a pot on the side or just spoon a bit on but the chicken and rice is actually great flavour.

Ordered for the first time and it was great. Ordered the large jerk chicken with jollof rice and plantain, a decent portion and is the best I’ve eaten in the area. 10/10

Delicious oxtail meal, speedy and friendly service, nice atmosphere, great music!

Arrived there early at 12.45 as was hungry and keen to try this place id heard about .While waiting in car i watched a young lady and 2 infants unload several bags of food trays from the boot of a beat up old car. The open sign was on so i went and ordered a Goat Curry and The oxtail dish.Whilst waiting i could hear the microwave door opening and shutting while they were cooking out of sight. After getting my food i decided to eat in car ,the oxtail and rice was tasty with lots of bone and very little meat.The Goat curry meat was also tasty but wasnt much actual meat as was atatched to large pieces of bone too,is this a Jamaican thing? I was expecting some nice chunks of boneless goat when i ordered a Goat Curry ,not having to nibble small pieces of meat off goat bones. The online menu has the dishes at £2 cheaper than they charge you in the shop and the Lady serving who said she was the owner looked like she had just woken up . Obviously will not be going back to be served by a Jerk.

Goat curry tasted good but if that was a large I'd hate to see the small.. More bone than meat and more rice than meat and sauce, piss poor, so looking forward to new restaurant opening In hook

Impressive! - TBH I wasn't expecting too much, service was direct and no nonsense. I had a large portion of Jerk chicken with rice&peas. The portion was definitely large and it was proper chicken on the bone. Spicy, hot and very tasty. It very much reminded me of the caribbean BBQ's of my childhood. Well done.

My dad goes here a lot, thought I'd give it a try. Fantastic. Best curry goat I ever had, better than mums own. Did a big order (family dinner) food was ready when we went to pick it up. Great service

Usually great but portions were very disappointing today and lots of attitude for the service. £5 mac and cheese and less than half a pot. Oxtail meal was lovely.

Ordered here for the first time, really tasty and authentic food. Customer service was great. Food tasted clean and fresh. Will definitely return.

Had a large Jerk meal and pattie via Uber eats. There was more bone than meat and everything was mixed in a plastic container. The pattie looked like it had been microwaved. When calling to see if I had the right order I was told to complain to Uber Eats.

First time ordering from here. In the most uncrude way possible I nearly bssd a nut because their apple crumble and custard was insanity. Crumble to apple ratio was 7:3, just perfect. Custard was hot. Felt like a hot warm hug. Jerk was delicious and flavourful.

Rang the restaurant repeatedly as there were items missing, the restaurant hung up on me. I paid the total amount clearly there is some sort of scam going on. Won't order from here again.

1st time there and I have to say the food was delicious, sensibly priced definitely be back .

We ordered food for a work event . It was wonderful everyone really enjoyed it . It was very tasty and a big portion. We will definitely be using them again.

Very disappointed with food and service, arrived at the shop and looked at the menu then was charged incorrectly and when I tried to ask why i had been charged the amount they said prices had increased and presented a menu with all the prices rubbed out and was very rude. Seemed very shady and Will not be going back. Don’t trust these people. Food was below average.

Disgusting never will eat or recommend here, they gave me food poisoning. And when I called up to complain they said that's my own. Dirty manners and dirty food.

Our goto once a month, reminds me of my mum!! Friendly service. Food is amazing and lots of flavours. Takeaway only but food is fresh and hot so no issues with getting it home and having to heat it up.

I was served by the lovely Joanna who provided really good customer service, very friendly and quick. We ordered peppered steak, white rice and jollof rice, it was really yummy and bursting with flavour! Cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are well worth the money. I would really recommend to anyone wishing to try real authentic Caribbean food. I will definitely be returning!

Tried to call and was shouted at. Poor service and such a shame as previously I have really enjoyed the food from here. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Wasn't the best and wasn't the worst...wouldn't hurry back, food wasn't particularly warm for a collection order and the goat curry was very tasty but too many shards of bone to be worth going back for. The jerk chicken wings were good value for the price but nothing to write home about...all in all not for me but don't be discouraged..staff were lovely and friendly

Food isn't cooked onsite, clearly. It's taken round to the microwaves and nuked within an inch of its life. Also, £4 for a portion of rice that half fills a small takeaway container really is a joke.

I’ve tried a lot of Caribbean food over the years and I must say this is up there with some of the best. Food is fresh and perfectly seasoned. Mac N Cheese is flavoursome and the speed of delivery was amazing. Big up Jerk and Serve. Thanks for the food🤙

Great customer service at this train station Caribbean restaurant. The patties and the fried dumplings were great; the curry mutton was tasty but the sauce/gravy that it was cooked in was too thin - it needed to be cooked down some more. Overall, it is a place I would visit again, if I am in that area.

I adore jerk chicken so was very glad to see this is in the area, however it’s not fresh, I’ve had it twice now and chicken is mainly over cooked if not burnt and I know it’s called a small portion but to have one piece of chicken halved on a bed of rice for £7 it’s a bit of a piss take!!!! Sadly won’t be a returning customer

The best jerk chicken I ever eaten hands down

Friendly staff, carried to check they were open on Good Friday and pleasant friendly greeting. Popped in some good tunes playing and a youngish girl was friendly and very helpful as I was enquiring about vegetarian options for my fiancee and was informed they change daily and that we can always call to find out what the vegan/veg option for the day was which is nice to see a rotating option. Anyway though I have cut down a lot I'm a meat eater and had a craving for curry goat, rice and peas which is specifically why I sought out a Caribbean restaurant close-ish. Went for the large portion and it was good, maybe not the best one had but certainly decent with a nice flavour, thick rich sauce and well cooked meat. Reasonably mild spice wise and I might have liked a bit more hear but I do tend to eat a lot of spicy foods so others may find it spot on. Good size portion in the large as well. I also had a portion of mac and cheese as a side, not bad but not as good as mine in my opinion 😊 On top of that I had for Jerk wings, these I found a little dry near wise and the sauce not enough of a Jerk punch for my liking. Overall pretty happy and will definitely be back for the curry goat, rice and peas

Recommendations - 1) hire staff who do not hang up the phone on customers 2) hire chefs who have half an idea of what Caribbean food tastes like 3) use a delivery service who do not turn up 45 mins late Just wish there was a zero star option.

I was delivered the wrong item and was refused a refund. The food quality wasn't great either. I won't be eating their food ever again.

Best jerk chicken I've had and you can not beat the dumplins! Customer service is 10/10 but the flavour of the food always changes, I've had it not really spicy and very sweet to then so spicy I'm nearly sweating however it always taste amazing!

Apparently this place have been there for about a year but its the first time I spotted it. We ordered a goat curry and jerk chicken and it was great, we will definitely be going again, totally recommended.

Ordered from this place for the first time using Uber eats but I had to come on here and give them a five star rating. Such beautiful tasty food that came piping hot considering it was a delivery. Also ordered the jerk wings which are beautiful and really cheap for the portion size (4 for £2.50) and some banana cake which was in a packet but still so tasty. Definitely will order again.

Ordered food via deliveroo, the food turned up and it was disgusting, everything had been microwaved, the 2 portions of mac&cheese had a thick skin around the entire portion from the microwave, once getting to the tiny edible bit in the centre it tasted like mustard. All 3 portions of rice had been microwaved within a inch of its life, clumps and dry, supposed to be a restaurant and cant even cook rice. I have never seen plantain cooked like they did, it was burnt soggy and disgusting. I was really disappointed and will never order again from here.

First time i went was the week it opened i couldnt speak highly enough about it. 2nd time i went young girl behind the counter was rude, chicken wings were saturated in sauce and the chicken was dry.

I'm a curry goat, Ox tail, rice and peas conniessuer I have traveled far a wide in different Jamaican food shops and this by far has to be my favourite the seasonings are spot on for both dishes. The macoroni pie was great too. I'm yet to hit the rest of the menu but will definitely be their regular. Best in London I say.

First time i came i want to try and taste Their food , they don’t take card ,very inconvenient, second time , they didn’t have anything vegetarian... now again I went , no vegetarian, and last veggie patty sold at 7pm ? People starting to eat dinner at this time and they had nothing there . I’m sorry very disappointed. And customer service really not good , they look miserable there , not smiling , and attitude, I dine in many Caribbean restaurants and this one is a first that I’ve never had a chance to buy anything nor I will be in the future

Finally we have a Carribbean touch in Chessington. Delicious peppered beef and jerk chicken. Not the cheapest meal you will get but surely worth the price!

Me and friends just found this takeaway and decided to give it a try I am Jamaican and fussy, we ordered curry goat and rice and peas and jerk chicken and rice and peas and some fried dumplings. The food was absolutely gorgeous tasty fresh and well cooked so glad to have found them. Nice clean shop and staff very friendly on phone and face to face give it a try u won't be disappointed thanks jerk and serve see u again soon looking forward to trying some other dishes

Terrible customer service women on the phone was rude and impolite did not try compromise with me as a customer. the curry goat did not taste nice and too much sauce on jerk chicken

Amazing food!!! Been hoping for an authentic Caribbean takeaway in this area for ages and this is exactly like my auntie and grandmothers food. The curried goat was perfect, and I loved the Jerk chicken and Mac and Cheese! Please get on Deliveroo asap I've been craving the food from here for two weeks!! Well impressed x

Terrible food. Fry chicken was like boil chicken. Hard rice and tasteless mac and cheese. This is not a Caribbean food shop! Really poor service. Will never eat from here again!!!
