Me and my partner came here after exploring the market, bumped across this place we got mutton, rice and salad looked okay when served but there was a lack of flavour and most of the mutton had huge chunks of bone with very little meat given for the price, disappointing meal when I know how well it can be done, won’t be returning

First visit to Leeds and my first visit to Kirkgate market. It was a Saturday and it was very busy and this stall had a short line. I ordered a jerk chicken salad box. It was okay. I was looking for something light. I refused the rice that usually comes with the meal but they did not alter the price. Staff were friendly and I didn't have to wait long for my meal.

My favourite place in Leeds City Market, the jerk chicken is the best jerk chicken in Leeds. The jerk chicken is so tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned with a tantalising blend of spices that'll have your taste buds dancing with delight. And let's not forget about the sides – rice and peas cooked to perfection, and plantains that add a delightful sweetness to the meal. But what truly sets Jenny's apart is the friendly service and cozy atmosphere. well done guys, keep up the good work. I'll be back to try more food on your menu.

Wrong food served, incomplete order with several things missing and the food tasted horrendous, really never tasted chicken like that before

The food was spot on, and the fried dumplings were just amazing. I could have 10 of those. Avoid their hot chilli sauce if you are not a fan of spicy food.

Lovely food and a team working in their market café. To avoid the queue, especially at lunchtime, you can also pre-order online.

I ordered the goat curry with rice and a side of fried plantains. The dish was flavorful. The side of plantains was very large, easily sharable! Good value. Price for quality and quantity was fair.

Ordered curry goat & saltfish fritters. It was a bit of a wait for the saltfish fritters & as prices have gone up by £1 a dish, the goat curry was £8 & fritters were £3. Portion of the goat curry was small for the price & though the salad was fresh & the rice & peas were hot, the curry, while tasty, was lukewarm. The saltfish fritters were super disappointing! There was hardly any saltfish in them & they were sweet rather than savoury. Overall, pretty disappointing. Our money would have been better spent at other stalls!

Jerk boneless meal with rice and peas was delicious. There was a large queue and understandably why when I had my first bite. Delicious and succulent chicken.

My partner and I shared a jerk chicken salad box. It was superb and plenty for lunch for two people.

I love the boneless meal. Always take it home. Never have the mayo or any other sauce. Always have tomatoes and cucumber salad. But a smile from the chef would make it much better. Very tasty meal.

Jerk chicken is my absolute favourite food in the world. When travelling around I always try to find the best jerk in the area. I thought I would ignore the bad reviews of this place, and at least give them the benefit of the doubt. HUGE mistake. Awful, boneless kebab style poor quality chicken, served from a pile on a hotplate... no jerk sauce in sight - served with some nasty lukewarm gravy. Refried dumplings. Nasty, warm salad cream labelled as mayo. Made me really ill for 24 hours. Complete waste of money. You can tell a good jerk place by how friendly the staff are and how proud they are of their product. I didn't get that vibe from here at all. Not particularly friendly. I don't usually bother to leave reviews on places, but this place made so unwell that I felt it my duty to warn others. Don't ignore the bad reviews. Proper Jerk chicken is made with love and makes you feel good inside. This is the opposite. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Please.

Not authentic Caribbean cuisines. The jerk chicken was horrific. Not cooked with fire, not marinated with authentic seasoning. Honestly ruined my day!

I have been eating Caribbean food for 30 years and usually frequent Chapeltown Road area but was in town and saw this place so thought id try it. I wanted jerk chicken with rice and peas and salad and was asked if i wanted standard for £6 or boneless for £7. I opted for boneless expecting it to be breast meat. I was a little taken aback when i saw some meat scooped from a takeaway box on the side and thrown on a griddle hotplate. What i was served could only be likened to turkish style chicken kebab meat but so dry and nasty almost at decomposition. It certainly didn't taste anything like jerk chicken and rice, certainly nothing like any Caribbean food I've eaten before. The photo of what remains in the box is now in the bin as I just couldn't stomach it at all and hoping I don't end up ill from what I was given. The only good thing was the eco friendly packaging and pleasant server . 🙄

Slow cooked meat, slightly spiced and did not feel oily or salty, tasty rice and peas too. Bring an appetite! Served with a GRIN

This is a Pop up stall in the food hall within Kirkgate market, everything is cooked fresh. I recommend the Jerk Chicken with rice, plenty of meat and well cooked rice, very flavoursome and priced fairly. Thumbs up to Jenny.
