Take away so cannot comment on the restaurant. I do prefer to dine in. Food was not good at all. Sorry as I usually rave about this place but this is the 2nd time that I've had awful food delivered now.

We’ve driven past here many a time being fairly local but took the opportunity to dine here by chance one recent Saturday evening. The restaurant is housed in a former public house in the centre of the village with easy free parking nearby. When we entered, the staff were friendly and the food which came within normal wait times, absolutely delicious. Overall the meal was reasonably priced and we shall be using it again. A nice little find.

First time here and it won't be the last. Excellent food and service and good value for money. Great atmosphere.

A friendly welcome from courteous and knowledgeable staff , but , the food speaks for itself ... I asked the waiter for a recommendation and was not disappointed, the food was really exceptional.... I have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this one has to be on the podium. Very happy , can't fault it. 😁

Business hasn’t taken me Kegworth way for far too long until this week and I never need an excuse to go here. I haven’t been for over three years amazingly and although I still enjoyed it - I’d recommend the Prawn Puri starter and Chicken Dansak - I did have a saag aloo that seemed to have a bit too much turmeric so was bitter and under cooked potatoes. To be fair to them they removed this item from my bill as soon as I mentioned it. Otherwise service good, staff smart, polite and friendly. I’d still recommend this place - that Dansak really is banging - and will return next time I’m near Keggy without hesitation. Instead of 9.5 as before I’d go 8 out of 10 this time though being totally honest.

Jee Ja Jees – Kegworth On Saturday 10th December we were on a weekend break in Long Whetton nr Loughborough. We decided to order (#611796059) a takeaway for two from Jee ja jees Kegworth . We placed the order a 6.30pm with estimated delivery time of 8.00pm (90mins). By 8.15pm we were starting to get hungry however there was no sign of our delivery so we called the restaurant to chase the order. The restaurant assured us they would deliver with in 10mins or less? By 8.40pm still nothing had arrived so we were told a blatant lie by the restaurant. Finally at 8.45pm we received our food - two and a quarter hours after our online order. Terrible service. The food was average nothing special at all and by the time it arrived with all the hassle and chasing we didn't enjoy the meal at all. To add insult to injury they charged £2.50 for delivery.

Good but not exceptional is my opinion. The ordering process was quick but no recommendations were offered. The starters were ok but nothing to make you think Wow this is really good. The onion bhajies were very poor not crispy or particularly tasty looking tired and flat and unappealing. We ordered chicken tikka which was fine but nothing special. With wine it was fairly expensive and not a good enough meal to make me want to rush back. On the plus side car parking is close at hand and free.

This restaurant looked after me for a week on a recent trip to Kegworth. Food was to a very high standard and could be trusted to be Gluten free. Staff were very helpful in every way. Have put a little weight on as portions are very big, but a big thanks to you all.

Excellent restaurant friendly staff and great choice of well cooked food. Visited on a Monday on my own and it was quiet but I would definitely return.

We, living locally, have regular takeaway meals and have eaten in the restaurant with visiting friends. The service, atmosphere and (particularly) the food cannot be faulted. Highly recommended.

Arrived as a walk in and was quickly looked after. Food was lovely, had the mixed platter and a lamb dish which was absolutely gorgeous. And the biggest glass of wine ever! Great find and they were very busy with take aways so the locals know their stuff!

My husband and I visited on a Monday evening so we weren't surprised that there were only two more tables occupied. The service was very good. They were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious if not slightly more spicy than I thought. The main courses were kept warm on a brass food warmer which was in keeping with the surroundings which I hadn't seen before. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to others.

Used this place a few times now for takeaway food and each time the service and food is excellent.Tonight I think was the best ever Indian takeaway I've ever had.Everything was perfect and plenty of it.Can't rate the guys here high enough. Try it you won't regret it

Tried the delivery service and were told 45 minutes. I phoned and they seem to have forgotten, they said 10 minutes, overall I waited 1hr 50 minutes.Spoiled what should have been a good experience. The food was nothing special but ample and nice.Becarfull of on line orders, they state 10% discount, BUT the prices are upto 3 pounds dearer than the leaflet prices. I did the comparison cheeky I thought.Better to phone the order through.

Had a delivery takeaway from here for the first time a week ago. Over the years have had many local Indian takeaways, mostly of reasonable quality. The food here was very good ,delivered on time and hot ( which isn't always the case with deliveries). I mentioned in passing when ordering it was for my wife s 70th birthday and when the food arrived there was a nice Hallmark birthday card as well. It s the personal touches you remember about things. We will definitely be ordering here again and would thoroughly recommend them.

Stopped here with a couple of work colleagues. The food portions were very good and the quality was excellent. The prices are also very good and staff were efficient.

Every time I eat here the food is great, menu is maybe a little to big (which shouldn't really be a fault). There specialist dishes are just that little bit more special.

We really enjoyed our food at Jee Ja Jees in Kegworth although the service did seem a little haphazard to start with.The main draw was, of course, the food and the meals were very good and reasonably priced as well.One word of note is the low ceilings in some parts of the restaurant - mind your head!

The party had a table for 11 booked for 8-00pm.we arrived at 7-55pm.we were showed to our table .lt was busy it was New Years Eve.A lot of takeaways were being taken out ,it seemed to me that these took preference over seated patrons.It took nearly 1 hour for the drinks order to be taken-not enough staff for a busy evening.It must have been another 25 min.for the food order to be taken.My mixed kebab seemed to have been microwaved as it was steaming not a normal thing,a little salad and a lump of carrot, no real presentation.The main was o.k.not very hot temperature wise.I cannot talk for my friends but I myself, I do not think I will be returningOverall experience for myself was very poor.Not good anytime let alone New Years Eve.

We had a table booked for 8pm. We arrived on time and were duly showed to our table. Unfortunately the waiter didn’t take our drinks for nearly an hour. And when they did they did not bring all the drinks at the same time and we had to wait further for the remaining drinks to be delivered.Although it was busy and the restaurant was full ordered takeaways seemed to take preference over seated customers. A further wait of around 30 minutes before they took our food order. There did not seem to be enough staff working on the evening.Our starters seemed as if the side salad had just been thrown on without any thought given. Again a long wait for our main meals which to be fair we were reasonable but nothing special.We all agreed that we wouldn’t return again due to the extremely poor service and experience

I'm a little shocked by the good reviews as we had a terrible meal and a rushed experience.We were staying in Kegworth a night before flying from East Midlands. It was a Friday night and we did go in the restaurant at 10.30pm. It shuts at 11pm so we asked if we were OK to come in. They said yes no problem. We were give menus and we're immediately told the chef was leaving in 10 minutes so needed to decide Now. We only ordered starters, rice and naan as they said we needed to be out by 11pm or just after. The starters. The onion bargees were OK. So we're the pickle tray and poppadoms. The chicken tikka pieces were not great, neither were the garlic chicken pieces It's as though they were microwaved and some were cold in the centre. The mixed meat kebab starter was chewy and horrible and we couldn't eat it. Rice and naan bread fine. We didn't have time for a main as we were rushed out. When the bill was brought, we were not given the chance to really look at it before being asked if we were paying by cash or card. We did query the bill and told them our thoughts on how we were rushed and the food feedback and I admit they were very good at knocking money off as we were not happy. We did give them a bit of a hard time about it but they shouldn't have let us come into eat if they were going to rush us. I'm sure they all wanted to go home, and if they had just said this at first, that would have been better.

We visited this restaurant for the first time and enjoyed the experience.The restaurant itself is a little stark and could do with more colour but the service and food was good.It was quite busy for a Friday evening but we didn't have long to wait. We particularly liked the lamb dish which was aromatic and tender and the starter of tandoori chicken. Price of lager was reasonable as well. If we are in the area again we would revisit.

What can I say - we were starving after a day at the Superbikes in Donington, so we decided on a curry once we got back to Kegworth and glad we did as well.Food was beautiful and the waiters were very helpful when explaining the various dishes. Could barely finish what we ordered but kept at it as it was so nice. Wobbled out the door after paying the reasonable bill. Cobra beer on draft was a bit iffy as mentioned by another reviewer, but all in all could fault the place!

Asked for selection of dishes. Wasnt disappointed. But not enough rice to go round. Surely should serve a plate of rice per dish or at least 2 dishes.

On a trip with my friend to kegworth me and my friend finished last night off with a curry all staff realky friendly and welcoming. Food was lovery nan bread very nice starters fresh and tasty curry very good thank you

5* all round Excellent food, curry served with rice and a smile. Chefs recommendations were excellent and were happy to adapt a little for my personal tastes. On a par with Paddys Marten Inn (and that's saying something...!)

My son and I visited on a Friday night and got a table with no issues. Excellent food, with a great selection of dishes and Chefs specials. Very good value for money, and we will definitely be back.

Invited by work colleagues to dinner during a visit to East Midlands. Ordered and enjoyed some very yummy curries with the usual side orders. If you love curries and in the area, worth a visit. Only negative, it was very busy and had to ask 3 times for drinks order, the rest of the service was fine.

Best Indian around. We come here at least once a month and the food is always great, delicious curries and they will adjust the spicyness to your personal preference, if you ask them. Don't miss out on the pickle tray for starter! Service is also very warm and welcoming, the don't push on you but will be around whenever you need them. You'll definetely get value for money.

Really enjoyable meal with a group of seven colleagues. My choice of lamb karahi had a lovely taste - the meat was not at all tough, but could have been a little more tender. No problem for my teeth though, so it was happily consumed! A side of aloo gobi was delicious, and the naan breads were freshly cooked and excellent. I tried a couple of other dishes - prawn rogan josh was also great.

When you have to join to warn other people of the poor food you ate, you get an idea of what it is like.

I was working locally so stayed in Kegworth, I visited this restaurant after waiting to get seated at an Indian just down road, I couldn’t attract anyone attention so I ended up Jee Jees. I had a great meal, not rushed at all and the staff were excellent. The restaurant was fairly busy for mid week at 630pm but that’s reassuring. I will return here for sure!

We ate here on Friday 5 January and had a good quality meal. The service was excellent. Although we hadn’t booked we were sble to get a table almost immediately.

We came here with friends on a Friday evening. Slightly under whelmed with the confidence of the waiter who seemed rather unsure of a lot of things. The food was very mediocre with one of our chicken dishes being especially dry and served with a very sorry limp looking salad. We did have an enjoyable time but that wasn’t because of the food more the friends we went with. Wouldn’t bother returning as there are far better Indian restaurants in the local area.

Been here quite a few times. It has a good reputation and deservedly so. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food has never disappointed yet. If you are visiting the area or a regular local you will not be disappointed.

This is the second time I have visited the restaurant just to confirm my opinion, I wasn't disappointed. The food and service are of the highest standard with the restaurant decor very comfortable. I had popadom and pickles, Lamb Tikka Masalla, Mushroom Pilau Rice, Garlic Nan, two pints of Cobra and a coffee all for £28. Excellent value. I would highly recommend a visit.

My naans were mixed up and peshwari naan had cherry in it! Not sure how it did. Paneer Makhani had cheese in it instead of butter illustrating the quality of food and knowledge of cuisines. Undercooked chicken and bland korma curry

Whether you eat in or order takeaway the food here is of the highest standard. When you visit it always feels like an occasion- the service is friendly and efficient. The choice of food is really varied -the biggest problem is deciding what to have!

The food here is consistently superb. Everything I’ve ever had is fantastic. Would give them 5 but the take out service was very poor the only time I used it (the food was still good though). Definitely worth a meal if you’re in the area

Lovely food and great service, I very much enjoy the vegetarian options when I eat here I had the paneer balti it was very nice I also tried the mixed vegetable bajee which was also very nice.

The service was great but we were in there quite early in the evening. The food was very filling but the onion Bhajis very very hot and spicy. The chicken tikka masala looked like dish water and had very little flavour.

Ok so about 3 years ago we called in here with some friends for a meal it was great, now we’ve ended up moving to kegworth we thought we’d get a takeaway from there to see if it was as good. Well I can honestly say they haven’t changed a bit. Nice fresh food and lucky us it’s on our doorstep.

I went here with a friend and haven’t visited a Jee Ja Jee’s for a number of years, and found it fabulous in past. I had a Balti and side dish, roti and poppodums and my friend similar (no starter, no pud). I found the food tasty and fresh, but heavy as everything was cooked in ghee. The leftovers I took home and my son said he enjoyed it. The cost was £25 per head which I thought little excessive when compared to other similar restaurants and the amount we ordered. I would have said 4 star if the price was a little more reasonable. Choice is yours :)

We went to THE OTTER and left after the food did not arrive within an hour.

We visited last night and had a lovely meal. There's a wide choice on the menu so everyone can find something to suit their taste level - I'm very much at the mild end of the spectrum but my dish was so tasty and full of flavour. Excellent value for money. Service was good & prompt, without being overbearing. We'll definitely return.

Husband visited tonight and he said it was the best curry he had had in a long time and I thought the cobra was spot on!

We had heard a lot of reports of JJJ but from students we were not sure what we would really get. We like Currys full stop and this was right up there. Very tasty, well presented and truly generous helpings served by really friendly and unobtrusive attentive staff. The value for money is impressive!! The Tandoori chicken is huge and very good. For something a little different try the Kabuki chicken. Wish we lived nearer frankly.Thank you to all the staff for a memorable

Can't really fault thus restaurant. Service very prompt and attentive and food was good quality very tasty and at a reasonable price. What's not to like? Will definitely return here the next time I am in the area.

Booked a meal for 5 friends on a friday night at 8pm. We were seated fairly quickly but it took 30mins for them to take our order and they were slow taking drinks orders through our meal as well. However, once we had managed to order the food it arrived quickly and was enjoyed by all of us. Poppadoms, a main course and 2 drinks each came to £25 each.

I ate on my own as I was away from home on business. The staff were really friendly and didn't make me feel awkward. The food was excellent and I had a great meal- very tasty.

When trying to find a restaurant open in Kegworth on a Sunday evening in March, the choice is very limited. Fortunately Jee Ja Jee's was open and we decided to give it a try. We were seated away from the music, which was playing in the main reception area where a number of people were awaiting their take away orders, so that was somewhat of a relief. The dining room is bright and clean with little in the way of decoration, but the tables are well spaced apart. The staff were very accommodating and most helpful when it came to choosing what we would order to eat. They were able to give informative advice about dishes that would suit our taste and were able to ensure that we could order a milder sauce if preferred. The food, when it arrived was plentiful and very enjoyable.I would certainly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Indian cuisine and are prepared to try something a little different, such as the special dishes recommended by the Chef.

Take away or sit in - food is always great. Naan breads are particularly good! Sunday dinner buffet is good value with a nice selection of curries.

Dropped in here one evening with my colleagues, we were going to a pub but decided to go here instead.Although they were quiet when we arrived, the service was nice and quick, the menu has some really interesting different dishes on it along with lots of different styles of rice.The beer is very good as well.The food was tasty but could have been a bit warmer.They also aloud us to chop and change the menu.Would certainly go back if I was in the area.

We are regular visitors to Jee Ja Jee's & we find the food very tasty, the staff very friendly & welcoming. The Sunday Evening Buffet is always good value for money with a concise selection but everything is so very fresh.We made the mistake last Sunday of going to another Indian Restaurant only to be very disappointed & make us realise how nice Jee Jaa Jee's really is.

Good premises and service. Food is not as good as it used to be. Possibly saving money on ingredients, rather than poor cooking I suspect.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we'd definitely return. The tandoori chicken starter was beautiful and also very generous in quantity and both of our main courses were of similar quality. Tasty and very enjoyable which together with the efficient and friendly service made for a very enjoyable evening.

We had booked a table for 4 last Saturday organised by friends, when we arrived the table was not ready, which in itself is not a problem, but the waiter who greeted us was unsure if we had booked and then had to ask. Several other guests arrived and they were also kept waiting. When we were shown to our table, the restaurant had several empty tables, so not clear what the delay was. The food ordered was good except one meal which was the king prawns pathia my husband ordered, he found this tasteless and stated this to the waiter. He was very apologetic and in fairness the meal was taken off the final bill.

I've been in the Jee ja jee's numerous times whilst Woking at Ratcliffe along with numerous other working parties. The restaurant is always busy which is always a good sign. All Indian restaurants tend to be very similar and although the food is good it is not exceptional. It's probably the fact that many blokes are working away from home and going for a ruby is just something to do. It's time the decor could do with a touch up but on the whole a very pleasant experience.

I have booked here for between 25 and 30 members of the British Carp Study Group each year for the past few years and at the end of the night I am being asked to add them again for the following year and many of these are travelling quite a distance to get there. Excellent food and excellent service. Looking forward to our return in a couple of weeks.

Tasty curry. I had the chicken tikka which was not too dry. The house wine was nice (red) and the service could not be faulted. Not that easy to park if you go during a busy period. Will definitely be back.

I drive through Kegworth most days on my way to work and decided to book in for something different. Caught the skylink bus so we could all have a drink, which drops off just outside the restaurant. Food was good, service was reasonable and just a little more attention would have made it good. The restaurant decor could have had a little more thought, but atmosphere was lively and the restaurant was pretty busy. Overall a good visit, but would it be enough to tempt me again......not sure.

We (family of four) popped in early yesterday (Sunday) evening without a reservation and they squeezed us in. Service was friendly and helpful, yet discrete. They offered us the Sunday buffet at £10.95 a head or the normal menu. We opted for the buffet, such a bargain. Drinks were very reasonable too. We ate more poppadoms than you can shake a stick at, loved the vegetable and chicken starters, thoroughly enjoyed the four curries (vegetarian option included) with rice and naan. Everything was delicious and I'm ashamed to admit that you could have rolled us out of there, we ate so much! Sadly we don't live locally and were just passing through, otherwise we would be returning for sure.

Some elements of this meal I enjoyed. The chicken was nice. But the lamb was unappealing.When I go to memsaab in Nottingham I have the most beautiful, tender, succulent lamb. It looks like lamb. It tastes like lamb. It is amazing.This did not look or taste like any lamb I have ever eaten. I would like to know more about the lamb. i.e where it came from/how it was cooked etc. Perhaps it was something about the cooking process I didn't understand. In which case I would like to know more.The service was cold and unfriendly. Hardly a warm word was uttered from beginning to end. Therefore, in future our custom will go a few yards down the road.
