Great curry house in Castle Donnington. Found the Chicken tikka a bit too sweet, but overall great food. Friendly servers and nice atmosphere.

One of the nicest curry houses we’ve visited! Lovely friendly service, and some of the best Indian food we’ve ever had! Buzzing and very busy on a Tuesday night for good reason. Would highly recommend.

Lovely curry, 1st time here fancied a change as we always go to one down the road, wasn't disappointed very tasty plenty served. Staff friendly atmosphere not so, music in the background would of changed the mood. Worth a visit.

The Atmosphere was very noisy.Service was shocking.We had a table booked for 7.30.Our mains arrived at 9.50. I asked for the bill 3 times.On the fourth I had to go to the bar when someone finally brought over the bill.In busy periods they should concentrate on restaurant bookings instead of takeaways.

Most recent visit was not positive at all compared to prior occasions. Normally I would average it out but as it's been about 2 years since I last went I have to give my most recent experience as the overall quality. To be honest the last time I went some of my curry was burnt to the bottom of the dish which may have played a part in leaving it so long between visits. Warm welcome received and drinks order taken. Waiter seemed confident to remember these without writing them down but we got a full fat coke instead of a diet coke and a single instead of a double measure that we asked for. When I asked he said he'd only done a single and took it back, then poured so much rum in it, that it was like attempted murder. We were seated directly under the stairs and were frequently disturbed by stomping as other customers and staff went up and down. Now on to the food. Poppadoms and dips were lovely. But most of this is pre made stuff so can't really use to bolster the score too much. Starters TINY. They seem to be going more fine dining with these- which is ok to not fill you up too much- but the flavour did not measure up. Tandoori paneer was bright red and tasted plain. Came on top of a pile of salad that was clearly from a bag. Tandoori salmon my partner tells me was incredibly dry- a shame, because he hadn't had salmon in a while and was looking forward to it. Mains- paneer jalfrezi really lacked depth of flavour. The only good thing about it would have been the spice level as it packed a punch, but without the flavour base to back it up it was just like being assaulted by heat. The naans were oddly dry and thin, not really bready enough, and the requested fillings were scarce. Faint whiff of cheese in the cheese ones for example. Partner said the meat in his curry was very dry and overcooked, and he sampled another person's meat curry which had a different type of meat but this was also dry and overcooked. Nothing was offensive but I was disappointed. Would wait a good while before returning. They also need to do something to the floor near the bathroom because it shouldn't be bouncy.

Came here with the family for my mum's 75th birthday. A great time was had by all. Staff really friendly and accommodating with birthday celebrations. Food was excellent!

Lovely meal, fair drinks menu, though cider option could be better. I have a mild lamb rogan Josh with veg rice and a garlic naan. All fantastic. Nice staff.

This place is really good. There's alot of competition nearby but I find this place the best!! Ali is a brilliant host and the food is absolutely stunning!! Once or twice the young waiters can be a bit cocky & over confident.... but I can live with that, for a brilliant meal. Just ask 4 Ali 😊

6 of us booked a curry on a busy Saturday night after a day at Donington for British Superbikes. Although very busy we got a table for 19.00 hrs . The service, choice on menu and quality of food absolutely excellent. We will be back next time we’re there. Highly recommended.

Brilliant meal, we come here when we get some free time away from the kids, and we’re never disappointed! The Tandoori starters are to die for!! succulent and malnourished with beautiful favours, as for the main i usually have my Malayan Chicken, but this time I thought i’d be brave and get a Bubba chicken which was abit spicy but it was absolutely delicious, and as for the service it cannot be faulted we had a young lad serving us with light eyes, and fair skinned he was very bubbly and spoke with us and made us feel welcome throughout the whole night, hats off to him he really does know how to deal with customer service, if you’re new to this village C2N is the place to be at!!

Came here about a month ago with some friends, got recommended by a local at the pub and wasn’t disappointed one bit, was absolutely brilliant, starters we had a mix kebab which was perfection, and for the mains i had a Railway chicken for the first time which was nothing short of stunning, one of the waiters with glasses who recommended what to get was brilliant, hats off to him he did his job brilliantly, will definitely be visiting again when i’m back in the village!

I dined at this restaurant with a friend and we were both so impressed. The food and service was second to none - tamarind on the pickle tray is an absolute winner too! For my main I went for the Noorani chicken which just melted in your mouth! We both said it was the best curry we had eaten in a long time and shall be back again soon!

Collected our takeaway yesterday evening. The naans were missing. I called the restaurant and within only a few minutes a knock at the door and our naans were with us. Really quick and excellent service. Thank you.

Poppadoms seemed to be cooked and then put under the grill giving a really strange burnt taste. Curry was colourful, but not very flavourful, however there was plenty of chicken in the dish. Not the best but not the worse.

I order regularly, love their food, but their time keeping for the delivery is abysmal. Just tell the truth. "1 hour" becomes 2 hours. No apology at the door, several times in a row now, I think I need a new curry house!

Just after 9pm I called again to be told it was leaving in a couple of minutes. The guy on the phone was very polite but only after I reminded him it was now over 2 hours did he say he would knock £5 off the £36 order. When the food finally did arrive it was less than average. A “pickle tray” consisted of mango chutney and mint yogurt only. The lamb on the mixed grill was so chewy, we threw it away. The curries themselves were lukewarm. The chips were soggy and cold. At 9:30pm we considered calling to complain but were too tired. Have been to the restaurant many times and had a much better experience. I will not be ordering a delivery again.

A family owned large restaurant on the main road of Donington. Great staff and atmosphere. Food is OK but not as good as when it first opened.

Apparently this is the place the locals recommend - so we thought we’d try it to see why. However, unless we just were unlucky, it’s a far cry from the level of service we were expecting. We arrived for the time the table was booked and didn’t mind having to wait a few minutes, though it’s quite cold in the waiting area and one of the staff members was using the table to work out a bill, so we couldn’t all wait together. On being led to the table we were given food menus. After probably 10-15 minutes we managed to attract attention to get a drinks menu - then ordered our drinks and poppadoms, as we were hungry and still hadn’t had our food order taken. When the wine was brought to the table it was simply placed in its cooler with the glasses. No checking it was the right one, offering to pour etc. Whilst not pouring isn’t that bad, not checking it was the right one is. Food order placed in the end - that was a good experience as one of the guests wasn’t sure which dish to go for and the waiter was good with advice and suggestions. The food itself was okay - naan bread is small though so be aware if ordering to share. The tikka masala sauce is almost dayglo red - tasted fine but just quite shocking in colour. It took a long while for our empty plates to be cleared and no-one asked if we wanted more drinks, food or the bill. Ended up having to ask for it on our way out. All in all - despite the food being okay, I can’t see why it’s a ‘go to’ for locals. I think I was expecting top quality food and service but it was pretty mediocre and not somewhere I would return to, or recommend myself.

Best curry in the midlands by far. Food is better than anything else locally, cheaper and also the service is amazing. Wouldn't go anywhere else even if it does mean I have to drive 20 mins to get here.

We reserved a table for 2 at the last minute and was pleased to get in, especially as when we arrived it was the last free table. Great atmosphere, and having eaten here before we knew the food would be good. However, it was clear from the off that we were filling that table whilst a larger, later booking was awaited. The whole experience was very rushed - an hour from arriving to leaving. We weren't even given the chance to finish starters before the mains arrived. Then, no sooner had we finished the mains, the plates were immediately cleared away, and the hot towels, chocolates and bill (which I hadn't even asked for) all appeared within 5 minutes. A planned night out (you usually get 1.5 to 2 hours to eat, or are at least warned of short turnarounds) all condensed into 1 hour and with added indigestion. Disappointed and won't be in a hurry to return.

Ordered a take out to be delivered. Just under an hour on a Friday night which i thought was good. I asked for them to be quiet due to my baby being asleep and the delivery guy did just that and was really friendly. Food was amazing as usual! Highly recommend!

Food has not let us down so suggest you have a take away rather than eat in house! Booked a specific table to celebrate a very special occasion to be told on arrival they’d given it to a first come first serve basis! It’s clear they will say anything to confirm a booking and ultimately more money, rather than have the moral obligation to honour an agreement!! Taking money is clearly the priority rather than have a moral standing! Fortunately we were accommodated brilliantly by Orissa down the road! So use it as a take away, but be prepared to move anywhere if you book a table! Poor management ethics and customer experience!

Don’t believe the person that said it was bland, utter rubbish very tasty food I had the Kerelan lamb absolutely delicious, I have 2 to 3 curries a month around the UK so I o ow what I’m talking about!

Ordered takeaway whilst staying in area as reviews positive. Overall, food was below average and bland. The saag paneer was extremely sweet like a dessert, which was bizarre and unpleasant. The food had extremely high levels of grease and several dishes unnaturally bright colours. The Goan fish was rated as tasty by my dad, so we had one satisfied customer out of 5. Would not order again.

I have been working at kp in ashby del la zouche for the last few months and i am staying in the bondgate hotel castle donnington . My wife tracey brown travelled to see me on Friday the 10th of march and we booked to go to curry 2 nite for the first time. The experience was exquisite Tracy had the jeera chicken, and i had raj chrinsri excuse my spelling if its not quite right. The food was exceptional and we can both say it was the best indian resteraunt we have been too. The service was also exemplary ,from the warm welcome as we walked through the door to the waiter service from Ali which was impeccable. What a fantastic advert to encourage people to dine out absolutely first class, definitely revisiting this establishment ,and would reccomend to anyone. Absolutely reminded me of food from India. We ordered a variety of food from their menu, tandoori roti, Rogan Ghosh lamb curry, chicken biryani, paneer tandoori and chicken tikka biryani. The curry was my favourite which was flavoured well and so tasty and wasn’t overflowing with oil. The rotis were soft and really yummy with good portion size. The pricing is perfect for the portion size and would definitely order again from here while.

After eating a Tandoori mixed grill I became seriously ill and Campylobacter was confirmed after testing. This is from uncooked meat. I contacted the restaurant since I was perfectly healthy. They questioned what I had eaten before I had their Indian meal and the manager stated that they had never had any incidence of food poisoning. I had not eaten anything during the day which could have caused these awful symptoms. In a second phone call to the owner of the restaurant he took this more seriously and apologised and said he would get all his chefs together and give them a very good talking to. That was when I explained it was my duty to report this to the environmental health department. Not sure this was to appease me. After 8 days of not managing to eat or drink anything and extremely painful symptoms besides nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, I wasn’t sure I wanted to carry on living. Not a great way to enter the Christmas season of festivities. I have since heard similar stories of this restaurant which I don’t ever intend to visit again. I obviously was reading all the wrong reviews before I visited this restaurant

I moved to Donington earlier in 2022, I’d been impressed with Curry tonight before as I was pretty local previously so had been a couple of times. Since moving to Donington my love for this place has grown immensely, I’ve had both Takeaways and dined in a few times and every time has been fantastic. The staff are so polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the food is amazing and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great in my opinion. For me this is the best Indian in the village. I like my food with a bit of heat but don’t like my head blown off and the Chicken Pathia at Curry Tonight is the best curry i’ve had. I 100% recommend!!

Heard quite a bit about the food quality being great for this place. Called to make an order as Google showing it was open. Rang several times but no answer. The restaurant should update opening times on those days their not open. Very disappointed.

Went last night for the first time, was not that impressed

Nice food, but really slow service. Our table was booked for 7.30 and, although we had starters, we weren't eating our mains til 9.20! They were very busy, but that's no excuse. It was also very loud there because of this. Good job we had good company!
