Amazing food with an equally amazing view. £50 for a family of 4 including drinks, definitely value for money. Will definitely go back.

Was looking for a fish and chip restraunt to sit and enjoy them in, looked on the menu outside and found that they did a small fish and chips (4-6 oz), this seemed to be the only place that did this. I went in and they took me over to sit in the window overlooking the harbour and a friendly waitress came and took my order. The fish and chips were freshly cooked, they came in about 15 mins. The fish was lovely skinned and boned and white and very tasty, there was a nice amount of chips as well - the meal was not greasy - would highly recommend and not expensive.

Called in today for lunch with my wife, we both had the steak pie, which was fantastic, big chunks of meat and gravy, just as advertised. Would highly recommend it to anyone...

Well over priced for for what we got £40.50 for fish chips twice and two kids meals. A long wait for the food when you have kids waiting no colouring crayons like advertised. A little greasy not a great deal of food. Kids meals not to bad

Fab place to eat as a family, steak pie is really good. Good value for money. Nice and clean, service is friendly. We always pay a visit when we are in the area.

Food was good once we received it!!!! The staff got our order wrong. We ordered for two. We received two drinks, two lots of bread and butter. One fish and chips. We highlighted this oversight and the young lady who delivered our short order told us the second fish and chips was imminent. We watched multiple people being served their meals, but no sign of our order. I approached the staff and asked politely where the second meal was? We were told it was on it's way. By this time the first plate of food is getting cold... I requested the waitress to take this plate of food away so that we could eat together as would be normal. When we did receive the second meal and the original first meal back. I asked why was one meal hot and the original only warm. I now asked for the first meal and the second meal to be taken away so that we could actually have two meals served together... That were hot.... There was no real apology for this poor service. Eventually after an hour of waiting we received two meals together... Not a lot to ask for??? The fish and chips were good. The service was abismal.... When I went to pay, I was offered no apology or discount for the errors and poor service. I asked for a discount and eventually after being made to wait for approximately 10 minutes. Permission for a discount had to be received from the owner/manager. We received 10%. This was not a good experience. We shall not be using this establishment again.... Food good.... Service abismal.... Think twice about having a sit down ordeal in this fish and chip café.

What can I say, convenient for the town centre. Value for money but that's maybe because they are not Yorkshire size fish portions. Very much basic cafe but ok.

We were looking for a place to eat, and this caught my grandads eye because of their skinless & boneless fish and chips. I’m glad we ate here because the food was all fresh & cooked properly, plus it all tasted amazing. Prices were fairly reasonable too considering it’s near the sea front.

Not much you can say other than it’s just a decent honest seaside restaurant selling good honest food at a decent price. Can’t go wrong with the good old Fish and Chips at this place. 3 of our party had F&C and they said they were good. I know they have been critical in the past. Although I didn’t have it , the curry sauce was very good as well. I had the homemade Steak pie, which came with chips and garden peas , should have asked for mushy peas. The pie was decent with large chunks of steak.

We called into Bridlington for some food after visiting the fantastic Bridlington Animal Park. We happened to park outside JCs and popped in. The staff were polite and quickly got us seated. We asked to move nearer the windows looking over the harbour and they happily reseated us. Our order was taken and the staff were friendly and professional. Our food arrived and the kids meals were well sized and fairly priced. I had a large fish well cooked and fresh tasting. Chips were fluffy and tasty. Mushy peas were good. It would have been better with a slice of lemon given we were sat inside but would happily eat here again. Clean, comfortable and tasty food.

Had a day in Bridlington. Fancied Fish & Chips but inside not out as cold. Seemed to remember I had been to JC's before. Shown to table by friendly staff, left to study menu (not Rushed). Chose small Fish & Chips, Garden Peas, and a pot of tea for one. Only waited a matter of 10 minutes at most and given lovely tasting freshly prepared Fish and crispy Chips. Also Pot of tea which made just over 2 cups. I believe it was YORKSHIRE TEA (brilliant!). Best Fish, Chips and Peas I have had since I cannot remember. Just £10. Maybe dearer in summer season but if same Quality I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND . Imagine you would struggle to get in in high season, But try. Ignore Victor& Victoria Meldrew type reviews. Give this place a ry.

Looking for a light fish and chip meal and a hot cup of tea to eat in as it was cold out. Came across JC’s thought we’d give it a try. Though my Husband walked past the sign saying wait to be seated and sat down at a table with a sea view they were still polite and attentive 😂. We ordered our fish and chips and tea and didn’t have to wait long. It was great chips crisp outside an fluffy inside, beautiful flaky white fish and crispy batter. The young waitress was attentive but not pushy and very helpful. Customer toilets were clean and serviceable in fact the whole place was clean and airy with great views. Thanks JC’s I will certainly be visiting you again for lunch when I’m next in Bridlington.

This wasn’t a great chippy experience. My scampi was nothing better than the frozen stuff you can cook at home, and the chips lacked both colour and taste. Undercooked, I’d say. My friend didn’t seem enamoured by his fish and chip meal, either. I wish we’d just got takeaway somewhere else.

We recently visited JC’s for lunch and it did not disappoint! Fantastic food, gorgeous fish and the chips were cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive, welcoming and smiley. Spotlessly clean. Could not fault it. Will defo be back.

Warm and friendly welcome. Attentive staff. Attractive prices. Pleasant and clean room with sea view. But if you're looking for crispy battered fish with tasty chips we were extremely disappointed. Food was so poor couldn’t stomach it. Greasy, flavourless and mushy. The staff were kids and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. We didn’t com here expecting French Cuisine but we’re looking for seaside fish and chips. Di’dnt cut it for me disappointed

Came the other day as we was staying in Scarborough for the week with family and fancied a day in Bridlington. This was the first cafe we came across that looked reasonably priced. Wish we didn’t bother, much better places in Scarborough. Food was mediocre. Staff was unpleasant. Me and the wife have a sweet tooth and was wanting to order a dessert. Called over the young small girl and she huffed at me, she made it clear customers wanting serving is an inconvenience for her. Won’t be returning to this establishment.

Went at 5.45 but you could tell staff didn't want us there must be nearly closing time no smile or friendly atmosphere just plonked food down on table and left. Food OK but nothing special wont be going BACK again .

Lovely warm welcome into a clean establishment, the toilets were immaculate The young ladies serving were fast, efficient and friendly. Food came out quickly, it was hot and tasted lovely. Prices were very cheap for a sit down and eat place. There are fish and chip shops near me that charge nearly as much for takeaway. Well worth a visit.

Out for a family fish and chips, food was good but service sadly was lacking. Waitress, despite the restaurant not being busy on a Wednesday afternoon, looked like she didn't want to be there. She noticeably sighed when we arrived and we felt uncomfortable ordering or asking for service.

We have been to JC's a few times with it being my daughters choice for birthday meals. This wasnt her birthday choice but a family choice for our first holiday after lockdown. We are so glad we went!I was a little apprehensive with still having the fear or covid looming over us, however when walking in to the restaurant, you could immediatly tell that the safety of staff and customers was a priority, the place was spotless and everyone was quick to clean anything and everything! this helped me relax quickly and was really able to enjoy our first family meal out!The food was gorgeous as usual and my picky eaters cleared their plates (pudding too, obviously)The staff where welcoming and although they were on the ball with cleaning, it didn't make you feel awkward or in the way at any point. We will be returning soon!!

Visited today for the first time and it most certainly won't be the last. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the premises and smartness of the staff. We were served by Emily, a very pleasant and efficient waitress, a credit to the Diner. Fish chips and mushy peas which came with lemon wedge and sachets of salt Vinegar and tartar sauce. The portions were huge, I couldn't eat all mine which was a shame because they were so tasty. A teapot for one and a good sized black coffee added to the enjoyment. Thank you for a really good meal in pleasant surroundings.

Called in here for fish and chips, looked great but few things made me realise that bot all is ok..firstly the glasses were not clean, i was given a beer in a dirty glass, and the replacement glass was equally dirty, secindky the fish and chips were grim, greasy batter and fish was not good, the oil smelled like it needed replacing, cheap but not cheerful,

We ate here for lunch one day this week. It was quiet, bearing in mind it is November.Nice clean place inside. Good size portions of fish and chips. The steak pie was very tasty, and packed with quality meat and gravy. I'm not sure how many fish and chip shops actually cook fresh fish nowadays or is it all frozen? Anyway, the fish here was lightly battered and a very white, good size fillet.Would recommend.

This place is great for fish and chips. My wife had the pensioners portion including bread and a cup of tea. A smaller portion but great value for money. I had the haddock which was perfectly cooked. A large portion and so tasty.We will be back next time we are in Bridlington.

Been here a couple of times the trouble is parking nearby sometimes you have to be miles away and have to walk. The food is good and I enjoy the large haddock but it is a bit too big for me to eat the chips as well. I have been in when it it is heaving and also when eaters are a bit sparse but the service and food does not change. It is a pity that it seems to close for the winter and closes early in the weeks before. All in all though a good experience

We will always try to visit here if we're in Bridlington. Visited today with a two year old toddler, restaurant lovely and clean and good changing facilities. The food is gorgeous, we had steak pies and a child's carvery. The quality and quantity of the steak in the pie was amazing! Plenty of choice of vegetables and meat for the carvery, it was nice to find a place where the veg has a little bit of softness to it and isn't rock hard. The staff were all lovely and friendly, we will 100% be going back when we come to Bridlington again next year :)

Daily special, haddock and chips £5.95, dearer than next door but so much worth it! Never seen batter so tasty without being heavy, husband normally so picky with chips but not 1 was left! Will visit again

this is the second reveiw because the first was deleted ,I ate with my family had eaten here before,I found to my shock and horror to find a stone from the fish in my mouth,I called the waitress and dropped it in her hand, to cut a long story short of she said I said I was offered another meal which she brought quickly no apologies just that the chef was more bothered about the costs to them with the suppliers,I did not ask nor was offered a reduced bill, by the way 60 quid,but the fact to me which is a major concern is my kids and grandchild could have choked on the stone 20mm x 20 mm but because of my wife I did not kick off this is how you treat your customers? shame on you

This little gem of a place has a super variety of food from carvery to traditional fish and chips and lots more in between. I would recommend the lasagne for those who like something other than traditional sea side food.. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly, smiling and efficient. The place is spotlessly clean and the prices are great value for money. It's definitely my go to place to eat whenever I'm in Bridlington.

Great restaurant if you like large portions of good quality fish and chips. If you like really large portions then the large 32oz fish and chip dinner will certainly fill you. Great location too being only just off the harbour front. Good quality sesting and very pleasant atmosphere. Didn't have to wait too long to be served and very reasonably priced especially given the portion sizes.

Waited 20 mins for our order to be taken, staff were rude and need a lesson in manners, not one please or Thank you. After another 45 mins and 2 very hungry children getting fractious I had to enquire where our food was. When it arrived the food was good and hot the only saving grace!!

We chose to eat here as they had seating outside and we had our dog with us. The table was very wobbley which made us feel uncomfortable. I went in and ordered fish and chips. After 20 minutes of waiting I went in to see if they had forgotten us, a young girl told me that we hadn't been forgotten it was because there was so many people had ordered before us. As I looked around the restaurant there was only about 7 tables with people eating. I went and sat back outside. Meanwhile another family had been eating at the other table outside but had been gone a good 10 minutes when 2 girls came out to empty the table. One of the staff knocked a glass over and the remains of the pop fell over the table and onto one of the chairs, they didn't bother to wipe it up. Another 10 minutes went by, I went in to ask for my money back as we was running out of time, the girl told me that they was just plating our food up. When it came it wasn't even fresh, the fish was dried out on the ends and wasn't even hot. I probably wouldn't have minded the wait or the price tag had it have been fresh but it wasn't. It was very disappointing, I won't be going again nor would I recommend it.

Went at lunchtime midweek and this place advertised over 60s special fish and chips, so in we went and were greeted by a very cheerful young waitress who showed us to a table. We went here for the carvery, because it looked really nice in the window, but we were put off immediately upon entering, by the extremely rude and unpleasant young waitress. She was, abrupt, spoke to us as if we were a complete inconvenience and said very curtly there were no tables available, although we could see four empty! She didn't even offer us an alternative, for eg, try later, or take a seat and wait a while. Needles to say, we left. Staff need manners and training in people skills. Dire.

Popped in as the food looked great through the window, was glad we did. It was very busy but worth it, the carvery was really good, the meat was tender and a good choice of 3 different meats, plenty of different veg. You don't have to have the carvery as there is a menu with a good selection of other dishes. Reasonably priced for a good sized portion. Staff where really nice and polite, we had a really nice time.

Me and son went for a tea time meal. Quite busy maybe seem a little understaffed think there was one table waiting to order desserts. Food was very nice hot and haddock was lovely. Had one beer which usual price. Overall very good experience

Visited once before and had the carvery which was nice. Today it was awful. Hubby had pie and chips which he said was just ok. I had carvery. The meat was over cooked and dry - I had beef and pork - but the vegetables were absolutely disgusting. Cauliflower cheese which was just a soggy over cooked mess with very little taste of cheese, Savoy cabbage which I almost gipped on it was disgusting. Again very overcooked. Lumpy gravy. Potatoes were ok as was the Yorkshire pudding. The apple sauce was more like the puréed baby food in a jar cheap nasty stuff never seen an apple. The average age of the staff was about 16 although couldn’t fault them. They just need to learn to cook. Needless to say we won’t be back

Well been coming to Bridlington for quite a few years and always enjoyed food here at jc's its a pity about the young staff member who was on the till today her attitude from entering the restaurant from start to finish was poor, I think a few lessons in please & thank you's wouldn't go a miss, food was OK but was spoiled by the staff member!!
