Jay's fast food in Angus

Very much enjoy the food at Jay's Fast Food. I particularly like the Chicken Wrap & the Mixed Kebab. The Owner & staff, particularly Rizwan are always very friendly & kind to me. Delivery drivers are also hardworking & nice too.

Always lovely food and quick delivery

40 minutes late and cold I don’t know why it was so late maybe delivery driver got lost but it was cold kebab and a cold 12” pizza

Stayed at a hotel locally and had our food from here . Excellent , freshly cooked and really tasty each night . The guy was really friendly and helpful . Extremely clean and the food was tasty and excellent value for money

Food was awful. Reheated and the curry was just like a farmfoods ready meal. Fried chicken was inedible. Total waste of money.

Quick service though needs improvement as the staff behind the counter pulled their nose when i asked what sauces they do, having not liked the flavours they tried to upsell. Food wait was okay considering they put it together as per order and not precooked. Food quality however I question (yes I know it's fast food). Ordered some kebabs but they were dry and other than spice, tasteless. Furthermore this was the only takeaway we had all day that we weren't responsible cooking and had stomach issues due to possible food poisoning afterwards overnight. Two stars given due to relatively okay service for fast food chain and for customers area looking clean and tidy.

Great online ordering service, that is almost always spot on with the readiness of your order. Wonderful new additions to the menu. Very friendly staff.

I have ordered a few times from Jays the amount of food included in their snack boxes is amazing and fantastic value for money. Customer service is top notch and they are always happy to help.

Ordered food online and it was sitting waiting on me when I walked into collect. I was even greeted by name. Always fantastic food, tasty and plenty of it. Decent prices as well. It's now our go-to place for pizza and kebabs. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Absolutely shocking service. Ordered online& was told 60 mins for delivery. 2 hours passed& still waiting. Contacted Jays to be told,we were going to cancel the order as we are so busy! So rude Will think twice about re ordering from here again

Missing item, not normal for them to make a mistake in our experience. Missed out a chicken pakora starter. Replaced or misplaced with a portion of chips. Rest of the food was good.

Love the fried chicken! So crispy and well seasoned! I love it. But the 16” stuffed crust pizzas….. absolute treat when we get one of these with the yummy dips. Never had a bad meal here and delivery is always piping hot and on time which is great when you don’t live in the town. Brilliant

Did an online order last month through the app took the money no problem, didn’t receive my delivery so phoned up to be told that the system was down and to reorder over the phone. No problem but they wanted me to pay again which I did, I was told I’d get a refund within 2/3 hours when I phoned back after said hours then I was told 3/5 days and still nothing. Bad customer service.

The best takeaway burgers 🍔 no soggy bun! Amazing fresh salad I've literally never had a bad order!

Best pizzas in town hands down.. really annoying you have to spend minimum £15 to get delivery! End up buying more than what I need just to get delivered. Have young child so can't always go out to collect.

Disgusting AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

What a farce. Ordered food at 1622 hours and it did not arrive until 1838 hours. So more than two hours later. The food was freezing. I had to call shop twice and not once did I receive an apology. Delivery driver blamed shop and shop blamed driver. Food never tastes good reheated, plus I did not pay £50.50 for reheated food. I cannot recommend this establishment at all. A phonecall from them, an apology, an admission that they had buggered up, or refund would have went a long way but all we received was sarcasm and the worst customer service ever. Absolutely shocking, so much so that we are sending an email to Trading Standards which could have been avoided if situation dealt with correctly.

Love your food have been getting takeaways from you guys for years.only bad point is I dont like how you have to order at least £15 worth before getting it delivered.i can only get a takeaway if me and my wife gets food.

We normally order Pizzas ,but tonight I ordered a curry and a calzone Curry was fantastic , way better than a restaurant and Calzone was huge and really tasty Jays are by far the best takeaway in Montrose The delivery is always on time with friendly drivers We always buy from here now Thanks Everyone

Put a order in and it never got delivered

Lovely meal...great kebab..not sure what is different the past few orders but the meat was so juicy and fresh and the salad and sauce was lovely...and nice pizza.

Good food however I had ordered for a set time and it was quite a bit early. Since I ordered when I was at work there was no guarantee I’d be home in time for when it actually arrived

Been several times and everytime I'm told the card machine doesn't work and it hasn't work for months. They either don't care or can't be bothered. Helpful is the person doesn't have cash or a card

Nothing from here was good. I had a döner kebab and a cheese burger. Most blaned food ive tasted in my life. Fries without salt. The kebab had zero flavour. The meat was horrible. It was a lot of food that tastes like Nothing. The place was full of smoke from cooking oil and grease. It was literally filled with somoke as i was waiting for my food.

Curry would have been perfect if I’d ordered a korma. I ordered a tikka masala though. Very sweet, no spice, and disappointing. Edit: I called the number given in the reply, explained, and was abruptly told I must have the wrong number. The polite reply on here from the restaurant is a token gesture to make them look customer concerned. Their review’s just gone from 3 star to 2 now. Avoid this place!

I always used to love the bhuna from here. Lately, it has been too spicy - a new chef perhaps. I had a previous time asked for it to be mild to medium, but it was just the same. So my latest order, last Saturday, I asked for the bhuna sauce to be mild. It was very creamy but still spicy - as if lots of cream was just added to an already prepared sauce. I could not eat it and messaged on chat to say how disappointed I was. I received an acknowledgement by someone claiming that they managed FB remotely and that they had informed the takeaway management team who would get back to me asap. Well nearly a week later and I have had no contact from anyone. Customer service has been as disappointing as the food. Having given them almost a week to respond, I feel I now have no choice but to leave a negative review. This is a shame, having been a customer for years.

Do not order their donner kebabs, the meat is like chewing an old leather belt, their pizzas are tasteless with way to much greasey cheese. Delivery, OK if you like your food warm

I was impressed with your " Red Elephant On Parade" meal. Had mine with Chicken. So rich in flavour and spices, it was similar to Vindaloo but with the added sweetness . It is a curry I would want to eat more of due to the authentic flavours. Delicious giving you 5 stars

Rather disappointed when your meal deal orders arrive with half the components missing but when I phoned to query this was told the drivers were too busy to come back with the rest of my order! Will get free next time!! What next time?

Awful food. I ordered a korma sauce and rice dish... when it came I could drag a fork through it and it still didn't move. The sauce had the consistency of angel delight pudding and smelled awful. Not fragrant at all and had a very strange colour. I couldn't even bring myself to eat one bite of it, I threw it straight in the bin after warning everyone I know in montrose not to order from here. I also had a naan bread which was soaked in cheap oil and tasted undercooked and far too doughy. 2 bites and that was in the bin as well. I tried to feed my dog a small peice of the naan and she actually pushed it away from her which is very unusual. I am very disappointed in this takeaway, I shall be ordering from somewhere better next time.

First night in Montrose didn't know where to get something to eat from so we went went to Jay's and I had a chicken tikka hoggie and my girlfriend had a chicken pakora hoggie they were excellent and well worth the money

Called in by chance on our way home - it was a lucky choice. We had two Indian takeaway meals which were excellent. The lamb was really tender and the sauces tasty. It is a shame we live 40 miles away otherwise we would be regulars there! We will certainly call in next time we are passing.

Ordered a takeaway from Jays tonight found out new owners food was fantastic had Jays special starter, chicken tikka kadie, tandoori mixed garlic chilli masala, garlic and green chilli naan bread, madras sauce, got 4 free poppadoms as well, Best Indian takeaway we have ever had.

My wife and I ordered a take away during the lock down, she had Chicken Jalfrezi and I had Chicken Madras. Whilst the taste of the curry sauces was reasonable the chicken in both dishes was tough. Shame as was convenient and service was good

Not sure what Lianne H is talking about below but I've been coming to this takeaway for years! owners have always been very nice to me and do try and go above and beyond. I recommend the Ch Korma. The curry are great :)

Customer service skills are non existant and surprised he still has a business. Threatened me with police over a order that had been paid by card but instead of investigating this properly due to an issue online, tried to intimidate me and threaten me!! Customer value has no play, owner doesnt care. Disgusting way to run a business. Stay clear of this place!!

I have been a regular customer for a long time and i normally pay by card online, just recently i made an order and paid online like normal but it was not showing on their receipt that it had been paid. I showed my statement to prove this had been paid, also showed on the app it had been paid but this wasnt enough. I got a call the next day to say i was a liar and the payment had not been made, i had 24 hours or he would get the police. I was quite happy for the police to come to show them the payment had been paid on my end and it must have been a technical issue with the online system. Then received news that the payment had been successful which i already knew and the guy couldnt apologise to me himself after treating me like a criminal!! Customer service is disgusting and you cant just go around accusing customers of stealing before investigating this properly. Never going back to this joke of a business which is a shame as one of my fave places, pity about the way customers are treated!! Require a course in customer service skills and also a proper apology from the nasty piece of work trying to threaten a woman also! Said nothing to my man funny enough. U should be offering a free meal of something as a proper apology but nothing!!

Ordered online and specified a time for collection - order wasn’t ready on arrival we had to wait a further twenty minutes past collection time. On arrival not many staff, and what staff there was all seemed disorganised. Eventually got order and was hoping for it to be correct having driven 10 miles to get there and it being wrong on previous occasions. All was ok on arrival home, the food was good but the wait and the disorganisation makes me unsure if I will return any time soon!

Had takeaway from jays last night, it was very good. We ordered different meals. I had chicken cajun wrap which was not on the menu but they made for me on my request which was very good and well made, while rest of the family had cheese burger pizza which was amazing. Children had chicken tikka meals with fruit shoots. We will definitely be back again for yummy food.😋😋

Ordered 2 hoagie wraps for my partner and myself tonight. Hoagie wraps arrived cold, with ingredients I asked them to leave out due to allergies and no donner meat in either hoagie!! Phoned back to ask for replacements or money back so we could order elsewhere. I was told they would send the delivery driver back with money in exchange for the messed up order. After waiting ridiculously 3 hours I phoned back to ask how long the driver would be and was given nothing but attitude and abuse down the phone. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the woman on the phone. Received no money back and no replacement of food after waiting 4 hours.

We all had takeaway from here and it was lovely food cook to perfection. The best chicken tikka massala I have in a long time with fresh coriander nan. Yummy. We will definitely be ordering food again.

Back off holiday and couldn’t be bothered cooking. Ordered a chicken rogan josh and a mixed biryani. Also mixed pakora and a garlic paratha. Dreadful biriyani. No discernible spice profile. Chewy overcooked meat. No unctuous prawns. Rogan josh was tasteless. Pakora was doughy and tasteless. Paratha should come with a health warning. Oil slick is an understatement !! Greasy , dry , disgusting. £30 ???? Really??? Never ever again. Gross. Do not go here I beg you. Drive to Laurencekirk and go to the Alma. I wish I’d taken my own advice. I cannot convey how appalling this is

Brilliant takeaway Indian menu for the grown ups but also good for pizzas, burgers and fried chicken for the kids. Have used Jay's on numerous occasions and have rarely been disappointed.

We have been travelling around all UK for 3 weeks trying lots of fast food places and this ended up without competition as to serve the best sweet chili kebabs ever:) So quit your job and drive over here right now - the staff is for sure one of the greatest! Best Niklas and Paulina

Phoned in order. Received phone call 30 mins after placed order. Realised part of order wasn't there. Driver phoned complained and husband order would arrive shortly. It did but my order wasn't in the first order. I had chosen and garlic sauce. Totally gutted and shocked as been getting food delivered for 5 years and never had a complaint. Please rectify and really enjoy my food from you guys

My son and myself got a takeaway from here on the 3/4/18, consisting of two 12 inch pizzas (Hawaiian and meat feast) and one portion of chips, came to the conclusion that the pizza base was not fresh dough cooked with the toppings but a bought base from some supermarket! Chips were poor according to my son, service was quite slow, only saving grace was price that was fair, maybe increase your prices slightly and improve your produce! Won’t be back!

We use to use them every week until recently when the driver they have ( the red haired horrible looking women from johnshaven ) was rather rude to my mother on the phone then again when she came to the door . Its ashame business's employ people like this that have no people skills what so ever . Wont be going back until this horrible person is sacked

Just had meal for 2 £16.95 no poppadoms bad start nan was totally disgusting chicken pakora greasy and chicken in currys was solid unedible should have put my money straigh in the bin with my meal WONT be back ever .

Jays never get our order right...they either mess up what we want on our kebabs or they miss out items completely, tonight they missed out three extra sauces we'd ordered. I dont really know why I was surprised. The kebab was dry and hard, theyd clearly given us the dregs that had been drying up at the bottom...must be too lazy to get us some fresh!!!! I would've phoned to complain but it's clear they just don't care about quality at all...I don't know how they've stayed open so long...they've clearly stopped caring about the dog food they send out! I will never use them again!

Got a carry out from here tonight,we got two Hogies(poor) And a garlic pizza which was tastless,a supposedly meatfeast pizza which was VERY POOR Infact the pizzas in farmfoods are better than Jays!!

Food was cold when it arrived. Ordered a 2litre bottle of coke they forgot to put it in driver had to go back and pick it up. When he arrived back it was a 1.5 litre bottle he had couldnt be annoyed telling the guy. Won't use again.

After a night out my girlfriend and I went in and we ordered our food and were rudely told to move with a hand signal before we even had the chance to move to the seating area. I confronted the owner asking for some respect but he rolled his eyes. To make matters worse our order was completely wrong which I think was intent. Awful service, how hard is it to get a kebab order correct? Embarrassing

So I am visiting my friends in Montrose and on the way home from the pub we decided to stop at Jays to get a couple of pizzas. I had the Shvarma (no idea how that is spelled) and I must tell you that it was amazing. I was actually munching on it so hard that I bit my tongue so bad that it bled. Still I kept on eating. My friends had the Meat Feast, which was supposedly just as good and the Special Kebab - which was so huge that could feed 3 people. Next time I am in Montrose, I am definetly grabbing some late night munch from Jays again.

We recently got a menu for Jay's through our door and with living in a fairly rural area, we were quite chuffed that someone was finally offering home delivery to us.. for a price.

Tried to rip me off, way to much bbq sauce on my pizza and uncooked pizza dough. The owner was rude and grumpy, won't be going back as this is not my first problem I have had with them.

Ordered online for ease and was told 35mins but 1.5 hours later i called and was convieintly told that my food was Just leaving the shop now

Overall a disappointing experience. Order mixed up, poor quality food and seemed expensive for what it was. Won't be back.

Placed order to pick up and car had broke down on route so called up to explain and had a very rude response back from ment to be "professional" member of staff.

I was very enthusiastic to try chicken kebab from the pole, which was shown on the new Jay's menu. First time the meat was old and full of oil(served from a pot). After this I tried twice to order the chicken kebab with instruction to Jay's staff to cut fresh meat from the pole, unfortunately personnel was very aggressive and refuse to cut fresh meat. I am very disappointed, please be carefully when you plan to order food from Jay's(maybe this is new standard to serve old food)

Food is excellent, and fresh. Staff is very friendly. Reasonable prices. I will definitely go back there again.
