Excellent double decaff macchiato and coffe & walnut cake. Expensive at over 8 GBP, 8.05 to be exact. Enough comfy chairs, reasonably comfy, that I felt I could stay as long as I liked. Would return.

Second visit and unfortunately still not impressed. There’s only 2 staff and between them they can’t seem to figure out how to process an order, I had to go up and remind them of my drink and then they finally made it nearly 15 minutes after. Staff don’t have a pleasant attitude and I didn’t feel welcome. As nice as the drinks are I won’t be returning as they seem to have a very big lack of passion here. (Colmore Row branch)

lovely place and staff, always go there to do work, they have good work area downstairs. Also a good place to go to with friends for coffee or tea.

This is a review of the coffee only, as it was a take away at the Birmingham Christmas Market. Great coffee, pleasant flavour, a particular smoky aftertaste ( not bitter ). Good medium size.

Excellent Coffe & food very polite & efficient staff & good selection of muzak playing in the background. Nice walk around Blythe Valley nature reserve on the door step.

Coffee great. Toast seemed to be the cheapest bread available. The worst thing about my visit was that there were a number of guys coming into the cafe without masks and with a belligerent attitude towards the staff. This had happened on several occasions. Puts me off going there.

Allowed my daughter and sister entry but refused to serve them for not wearing a mask because of medical reasons. Absolutely disgusting and inconsiderate!

I absolutely love the concept java has done, i went to study for a few hours there with my laptop and felt so comfortable. I ordered a hazelnut latte which they made the way i wanted it, loved it!! Im there every week for my study time. I look forward to spending time in this cute cafe😊

As the title says, lovely staff, very nice coffee/hot chocolate. The cafe has had a really nice renovation and is open till fairly late and worth a visit!

I'm guessing this is because they don't want small children in there? Can the management verify this? I've been a customer since it was a tiny internet cafe on King Edwards Road and hold many nice memories of the place. The staff were lovely, polite and professional. I was disappointed they don't do those lovely fresh hot wraps that they used to do in the old Java lounge. I was told you only get to choose from the prepacked stuff in the fridge now. The place feels very corporate and a bit cold. I won't be back.

Have been a fan and regular visitor at this coffee since it opened in King Edward road. Still go regularly because the coffee is great and the staff are absolutely fantastic. So polite, friendly and efficient. Was massively disappointed however to see that it opened Christmas Day. Owner was generous enough to let the staff close at 7 instead of 9. Is this really necessary? I know, from talking to an ex staff member that last year they got together and had Christmas lunch together. A lovely thing to do for people away from their families. This has coloured my view of this business. Sad

It was the first time visiting since the refurbishment and I was always a fan of the previous Java Lounge due to the cosy nature but this did not disappoint. The fresh new design is so modernistic and so much attention to detail has been made. The service is always friendly and the staff go out of their way to converse with you. The drinks menu is exciting and updated regularly. Yet to try the food.

Amazing coffee! A really modern cafe, polite staff and excellent services. Ideal place for remote working also as they have free Wi-Fi.

Good coffee but not good enough to oversee the issue with unfaithful, dishonest and impolite staff. I recommend going elsewhere.

Having been refurbished and extended recently, I was eager to see what the new JAVA Roastery looked like. First impressions were extremely favourable. Gone is the dowdy orangey/gold facade and environment and this has given way to a much larger, brighter, lighter, modern and impressive interior and exterior. There's even a new space downstairs and one upstair, so essentially seating available on 3 floors. The decor, furniture and fittings are awe-inspiring, with high-quality materials used throughout. Both my wife and children had a great time in the ambient and relaxed surroundings. We all enjoyed our drinks especially my wife and daughter who emphatically claimed that their Espresso and Hot Chocolate were the most delicious best they had tasted in Moseley. We'll definitely be visiting more frequently in the future as we live in the local vicinity and were were very impressed with the Baristas service, friendliness.welcome and the high quality of our beverages.

Agradable acogedor café independiente en Moseley. Un montón de asientos con vistas al pueblo. Buena selección de bebidas y comida en el menú.Espero que los propietarios abran un café de estilo similar en Stirchley, creo que les iría muy bien en ese lugar. Es lo que necesita la zona.

Lovely coffee with a special range of cakes and delight. Great calm seating and atmosphere. I come out feeling refreshed and relaxed after enjoying a proper coffee.

Always a pleasure at Java, always full but staff always polite, friendly and helpful. Coffee is lovely, im always tempted by the delicious cakes and treats they have on display. Can recommend the kofta wraps too-really lovely and surprisingly light snack.

This was my second time visiting java lounge and it was delicious! We ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate which came with a generous amount of whipped cream and also a latte. Both were really good. The service was quick and the barista was very friendly, and the decoration inside the shop was simplistic and rustic looking but also stylish! Definitely will be coming here again.

A nice independent coffee shop in Moseley. Close to several other coffee shops including Lewis, Costa and Damascena.

I usually come here three times a week. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have opened a dessert bar just a few yards away. Will definitely check that out.

I went there almost every morning and this very nice Italian guy was there who knows how to make real espresso. Great place!

No hay suficiente espacio para sentarse y descansar todo estaba un poco estrecho y fuerte. Más arriba mesas significaba tocar estás codos con la persona de al lado, si eso es lo suyo, entonces por supuesto. Sin tomar café en el ir, pero eso es todo para mí.

This coffee is beyond... some of my American friends were coming here all the time and they told me that it was the best coffee they've had in Birmingham, so there you go..

Ridiculously over priced. The mason jar in which the frappo was served was dirty. Thus I did not even taste it. Thankfully the dirty animal (my friend) I went with tried it. Said it was ok.

Been here lots of times. Its ok. Not the best and not the worst. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating is a huge plus. Coffee is ok as is the service.

Luke warm cappuccino. Charged £1.75 for a toasted teacake which was done in a cafe style pannini grill resulting in two very flat and hard 'frisbee' looking pieces. There was additional charges of 15p for each butter pack and 15p for a small pack of jam.

We had visited the Java in Birmingham before so we knew that we would enjoy. As expected the coffee was superb! The macchiato was served perfectly with chilled water and tasted perfect. The vanilla latte was excellent! It is just reassuring to visit a cafe that serves coffee know what they are doing! The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. There was a steady stream of customers but this is testament to the quality of the products served! Lovely friendly service with a smile. What more could you ask for?

I go to java lounge when there is nothing else open. Its nice enough to have a coffee and I've been here quit a few times. They do gluten free and vegan cake (yay) and they do soy milk. However, it's quite pricey, there isn't as much choice and there is nothing which makes it stand out from the others. Perhaps jazz this place up a bit and create more of an atmosphere with some creativity.

Lovely warm intimate atmosphere.seating inside outside and on ground floor.my friend had a nice panini.i had a lovely hot chocolate and they added the peppermint sauce that I asked for.Worth a visit.

Whilst I can't speak for any of the food, the Coffee is excellent and the staff are always pleasant!

I love independent coffee houses and Java Lounge is one of the best I have visited. Staff are friendly and there is plenty of seating. Coffee is quality and is far superior to the other coffee chains.

This is a fabulous place for a coffee (and cake) in Moseley. The location is lovely, venue nicely decorated, the staff are v pleasant and the atmosphere is very relaxing.Plenty of choice of drinks, fresh coffees, cakes and food.I would really recommend visiting it's a brilliant coffee house.

Used to use this place. Staff are ok but the 2 brothers who own the business are very rude and arrogant. I think they believe they are the new Costa Coffee.

We first visited Java Lounge in Moseley with my sister, my husband and i and it was lovely. My husband had a mint hot chocolate, i had americano and my sister had a latte. We shared a piece of cake. It came to about £11. Next time we visited, my husband and i went back again for exactly the same drinks. The cafe is decorated tastefully and there is a big map of the world on one of the walls with the coffee story, really interesting. Plenty of seats, a nice place to go after work or to chill out, or meet friends. We will be returning!

Superb Coffee , friendly and helpful staff but do they really need to have the music so loud……….It's the perfect environment to relax and read a Book and meet with friends.

Decided to pop into Java Lounge in Moseley to try their Pumpkin spice range with my family. I went for the Pumpkin spice mocha and I was not disappointed - was so delicious I ordered another to take out. My family enjoyed their coffee too and their friendly service and cosy environment have given me more reason to come back

Java provides its customers with a friendly welcome, a relaxed atmosphere, space and comfortable seating indoors and out. As for the drinks and food there is a wide variety all of good quality and reasonably priced. The perfect spot to relax and take in the rest of Moseley Village.

This was my first visit to the newest coffee house in town...and it doesn't disappoint. The decor is lovely, nice and spacious (unlike a lot of places) and the menu and drinks options tend to have a little twist on the traditional...we tried ginger flapjack which was superb, alongside a very good (slightly bitter - which we like) Americano. We'll be going again for sure...

Popped along after reading a Positive review in a local paper, I must say, I was not disappointed, gorgeous grade 2 listed building, lovely layout, very, very good range of drink shakes (make with ice-cream) Yays...Oh, Lovely & Polite Staff, Super Well Done to All :) x

This was my first visit to the new iteration of Moseley's popular and successful Java Lounge which has opened on Colmore Row in Birmingham. Easily missed from the outside, once you step in the sense there is of space and calm. A well-stocked cake selection is always going to make me warm to a coffee shop and I was not disappointed (falling for the temptations of a slice of moist, sweet zucchini and lime cake). The coffee was honest and strong and very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and very welcoming without any cloying false bonhomie and added to the relaxed atmosphere. There are more painfully cool locations and there are more artisanal coffee experiences but if you want a relaxed, friendly, non-chain pause in your day I would very happily recommend Java Lounge.

They just open a branch of this Mosley coffee house in Birmingham City Centre and I was looking forward to trying it out. The atmosphere is nice enough, in the old Hudson's Coffee House place. Not much of a tea selection but I didn't expect much given it is a coffee house. It was a Monday afternoon late and we were to the only ones in. Again not too surprised given how new it is and time we were there. The service was friendly. We initially asked for a chai latte but they were out of it. So I went for the cardamon tea and the others got ice lattes. The cakes looked nice but I we wanted something more substantial so I went with the lamb kebab wrap and the others went with chicken kebab wrap and lamb salad. We all agreed the wraps and salad had a nice flavour with the wraps being very spicy. The drinks were fine.I think this place has potential and I would really like to see it succeed. Given a little time it should hopefully find its footing and be a nice alternative to the Starbucks across the street and the other chain coffee houses.I look forward to returning before long.

I would go back for the drinks and the atmosphere; I can sit there for hours and wouldn't feel like I've been caught up in some pretentious hipster charade.+ Wide range of choice for food and hot/cold drinks+ Great drinks (and I believe that's what they're known for)+ Nice atmosphere and decor upstairs+ Great, friendly staff+ Free wifi- Pricey for what you get. I bought a milkshake and the whole boho-glass-jar thing doesn't elevate my opinon of the drink; frankly, it was annoying how quickly it disappeared!- The cakes could be better... unless I just had a bad brownie- The downstairs is a fusion of neglected waiting room/ tacky restaurant/ grandmother's dining room

Gorgeous mugs of lovely, strong tea. Always a good thing. I think the service and atmosphere are great too but the wraps could be accompanied with more salad and perhaps the falafel wrap could have some houmous or something else in it, rather than just plain falafel and bread. It was a bit dry and disappointing.

I have made several trips to Java Lounge, each time taking somebody new with me, I and my guests have both enjoyed the pleasant environment and service offered. I will be going back again!

Love the ambience and selection of speciality flavours. There is plenty to choose from hot drinks wise to cater for different tastes. Can't comment on food as haven't tried but decent selection of cakes to accompany your drink.

Comfortable surroundings, amazing tea selection and good location. You can also buy personalised mugs which are a good item. Recommend a visit.

Went into Java Lounge on Friday for the first time to use their free wifi service. From amongst the huge range of drinks they serve, I ordered an Americano and was pleasantly surprised. The drink was perfect, I even ordered another to take out as I was leaving. The place itself had a great atmosphere and the staff were really friendly too. I'd definitely be revisiting soon.

Popped in for a coffee this lunchtime as the restaurant we were going to (next door) hadn't yet opened. I wish we had gone to the other coffee shop down the road, and this is why:There was no atmosphere. It wasn't busy even though it was Saturday lunchtime. Even so, I still felt we were a little rushed in having to make our order, and then the service was slow. Also, the coffee was not good today. The latte came out cold, and the cappucino and Americano were not great. Not the best, but I'm inclined to think our experience today was the exception and not the rule as the place has had so many positive reviews! Sorry guys, I really didn't enjoy my coffee, and I really wanted to!

Met a friend for coffee and cake and got very comfortable on the leather settee. Great coffee and lots of different types. Staff dressed very nicely and carrot cake was very nice :) Coffee and cake £5.00 so not cheap, but it's a great place to catch up. Loved the background music too. It looks small at first but they also have downstairs seating.Would go back again.

My friend & I went to Java for a light lunch. The wraps we ordered looked very unappetising but didn't taste to bad. My friend was served hers quite a few minutes before mine ! And we had to chase up the drinks we ordered. The place did have a nice atmosphere in the place. Would only recommend it for coffee & cake but not a wrap meal.

I'm a regular here at Java, they do the best coffee and always give excellent customer service. It's not just a coffee shop, you can tell the owner and staff care and are happy to tell you facts and share their wisdom. Cake is lush too!

Friendly staff,nice setting and great coffee and cakes. A great place to spend a few hours reading a book or having a chat. Highly recommended.

i am a barista by trade so its awesome to have people make a damn good coffee on my day off.... and they do every time... like ive never had a bad coffee ever!! amazing!! and the latte art is good too!ive never tried the cakes but they look awesome ...... if your in Moseley and need a caffeine hit avoid places that "look trendy" pay less and go here! the staff are cooland they play some latin vibes to keep ya perky! like 9 stars if T/A had that many.

I visited today for the first time after a recommendation from a friend and really enjoyed my visit it's like walking In to a continental coffee house. I had a few drink the coffee was excellent they made it exactly how I wanted it. The staff were very nice and helpful as it took me long to choose as they have a big selection. They value was average And the waiting time was ok considering it was busy. Will defiantly recommend

I've been to many coffee house's around the uk as a coffee lover, what has always struck me is that a lot of coffee shops look the part and talk the part but fail to deliver a cup of coffee. On my visit to java lounge if finally found my complete experience. What was intriguing was the owners came from Yemen (birth place of coffee) , and the passion they had about coffee really came through the coffee itself. The service was brilliant and so was the decour, but for me it's all about the coffee and personally this is where I think they stand alone above all others.
