Jarrolds in Norwich

It's a fantastic place especially the chilli stuff and fresh produce The only problem is you end up spending a fortune there 😂

Good range of stuff in the deli, and their selection of cards is the best around. I hope it stays on Exchange Street for ever

Seems like one of the last nice department stores. Downstairs has a great restaurant set up, with an extensive selection of food and drink. The upper floors have a few hours worth of men's and women's clothing to browse. Jarrolds has been a Norwich cornerstone for many years. Always make sure to visit when I'm in town.

Great service from a local business. There is a restaurant on every floor, I prefer The Pantry on the 3rd (Top) floor. There are escalators that take you up, but you'll need to take stairs or one of the 3 lifts to get back downstairs.

Again great shopping every time I go it seams to get better and better every time always something new

Love this shop. Enjoyed looking at the Easter displays, bought artisan pasta and had a coffee in one of their cafes. So much to walk round and admire.

Fantastic book department, helpful and knowledgeable staff, with a decent focus on local authors and their work.

Love this place only discovered it recently but I love the way its set out an the dinning areas all the food looks delicious an I like the way you can go from one deli counter to another all the little shop areas are great too we took home some sausage rolls an cheese scones they were absolutely delicious and the cheese went through all the scone nit just on top both were huge

Only one til taking cash, so it took an age to pay had to wait to long just to pay

Love the bottom level cosy cafe and friendly staff. Excellent coffee and Egyptian mint tea. Highly recommend. 👍

Benji's, the place to go for coffee and scones, as well as other great food.

Had difficulty on other sites obtaining Derwent Artists coloured pencils in all the colours I wanted which were in addition to my standard 72 box I'd had a few years. I ordered 44 further colours and received them all, and in 4 days. Packaged well too. Absolutely brilliant.

Beautiful tomato soup with pesto and a side sandwich. Kiln fired pizza at Jarrold basement cafe. Excellent food and friendly service

admittedly on line, but two orders both placed, and then advised no stock despite customer services assuring me that there was. Best shopping in person I imagine , but explains difficulties for high street retailers

So far a very disappointing experience at the Cheese Bar. Had to walk and get my own coffee. Even worse, it's only available in a takeaway cup, even worse Cash not accepted at coffee place. I hope it's gets better when I order lunch.

A rare example of a remaining family run department store. So many have gone, but Jarrolds still survives, and long may it continue. It is a Norwich institution and long may it keep going. Floors and floors of lovely things. Always a pleasure to shop here and have always found the staff so helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed a charcuterie board and some delicious wine for lunch today, fantastic service and atmosphere. We even left with a bottle of the dressing, which we can enjoy at home. Thank you!

Very poor experience. Listed items on the website multiple times that were not in stock.

Ordered online: goods were well priced, properly packed, communication was faultless and delviery timely. Could not have had a better experience.

Not visited before, impressed, nice shop, only looked in the ladies clothes section. Lots of choice. The only thing that spoilt it was the customers, and I know one shouldn't judge by appearances but I waited by the lift with my walking stick for over ten minutes, everytime that lift stopped it was full of teenagers who wouldn't let me in.

I came here on 30 Dec. for a nice outfit, and Tim in the men’s department was kind enough to help me find my size in trousers, especially since my usual size in the US is different from the UK/EU sizes. Thank you Tim! Also, the staff in the food hall and in the kitchenware department were great! I’m excited to come back soon :)

Gone downhill since reducing staff

I went in to Jarrolds Lingerie department a couple of times just before Christmas as I needed some new underwear. The ladies who were working there were all really helpful, pointing out nice pieces that I had missed when quickly looking round. If the style meant I needed a different size they were always quick to bring the new bra into the changing room for me. They were all lovely and friendly and made the experience a very nice one. I certainly will be shopping here again for lingerie, and would whole heartedly recommend it.

We do enjoy a look around Jarrolds, lost a star due to being served by an extremely miserable lady!!

A friend of mine sent £135 hamper to me as a gift. Not sure I've ever seen something so poor. The two bags of giant cookies were so hard you could break your teeth on them, not even the birds in the garden could eat them (I'm serious). Some smoky flavour bruschetta. Some vegan chocolates. A chocolate coin, some nuts that actually tasted old, and some other completely forgettable and "non-special" items. My partner took the whole hamper in to work for colleagues to pick at. Absolutely nothing was touched, I'm not kidding, completely unheard of as they'll eat pretty much anything. If that is the Pride of Norfolk then things are in dire straits. Seriously, pick yourself a basket from M&S or Tesco, you'd get much better quality and fresher items, at much lower cost. Such a let down and waste of money, seriously don't bother

I’ve just had an OPI Gel file and polish at Jarrold. I have to say it was expensive, very uncomfortable and not a pleasurable experience. The pedicure chair was already in use so I had to have my toe nails done propped up on a bed, which was really uncomfortable, I got cramp and I was relieved when the process was over. I was expecting a proper pedicure but I was informed that wasn’t possible with ‘gels’’, so I wasn’t expecting £28 for a file and polish, which took 35 minutes. The beautician was clearly having a bad day and moaned about the management, then told me she would be taking a photo of her work and didn’t tell me why or what she was going to do with the photo. I’m presuming it’s going to be posted somewhere but I didn’t give her my permission. Sorry Jarrold’s, I love what you have done to the store but I won’t be going back I will go to a local salon where I can have a proper, relaxing pedicure with ‘gels’ at the end of it.

Amazing store. Have been shopping here since the mid seventies and it just keeps getting better. Glad deli is back love the frittata and cakes are to die for. Upstairs restaurant has the best scones in the world and I have tried a lot over the years! Staff are incredible nothing too much trouble. The family who own it have done well to keep it going through all the bad times and that shows that it has huge numbers of loyal customers. I shop here for everything I can so that they can remain on the high street where they belong .

Jarrolds in Norwich has been an important department store for as long as I remember! With changing shopping habits Jarrolds has adapted by adding restaurants, bars etc to keep people coming through the door. There are two wine bars in the basement, we ate at the Cheese & Chatcuterie Bar. The food is nice and a good selection of wine, which can also be purchased in store. I haven't eaten in any of the other bars but intend to. On top of all that they have a great book department. So check it out the next time you are in Norwich.

This shop is has lot of stuff you will find.Variety of Porsche brand.Product like Sunglasses, Bag, Shoes, Cosmetics, Clothes , Watches, Craft item, Perfume Grocery item as well.People are gentle here friendly.But one thigs is noticeable that some of the products are quite expensive which is not value for money so they need focus on that.Thr last things they has food corner in upstairs. Always pop into Jarrolds especially at Christmas time

LGF restaurant is superb! Staff are first class. Coffee is excellent. Meals also. Likewise the coffee shop on the LGF. Lovely cakes and coffee, and really attentive and friendly staff. Clever arrangement of deep comfortable chairs surrounding a high central table with stools. In fact all the departments in Jarrolds are a fine example of how a really great store should be staffed and stocked.

Good selection, only a bit rubbish as the fish restaurant and toilets leave the top floor smelling like a plague pit.

Always a lot to offer, from clothing to makeup and perfume to food hall and home decor

Wow , how I wish there were more department stores like this . Everything under one roof, from bueaty , fashion , furniture to an amazing toy department, and so much more . Added bonus there is a cafe on each floor level. It's definitely a must if you're visiting Norwich

Love this independent department store, great variety of products, friendly staff, always a pleasure to visit.

Shocking experience today in the cafe on the 3rd floor. We waited an hour for a carvery. There was only one staff member running the whole thing. Credit to Emily who worked so bloomin hard today. The rest of the staff just standing around not supporting. At one point 5 staff members all standing around the tills whilst Emily worked! Disgusting and clearly no team spirit during a busy period. My husband spoke to the Manager who said "we'll its like this on Sundays". We then suggested 3 staff helped Emily. One on soup, two doing vegetables and the vegetarian dishes to speed up. It was only until we made this suggestion did anything happen 45 minutes waiting in the que. Of course this then sped everything up. It's a shame the Manager couldn't have put this in place at the start and kept an eye on the floor rather than being no where in the facility. Bad management. The staff need to support the hard working staff rather than standing around chatting to one another. Very disappointing. Not something you would expect from Jarrolds.

Pricy but well worth it with quality.

Love this shop, the variety, quality and choice is good. Down side is I always find the staff quite rude. If you don’t fit the usual clientele of being over sixty then they’re happy to ignore you and talk down to you. For this reason, I only buy from here if they’re the only store with what I need.

Some of the ladies in fashion and beauty are stuffy. Whenever I try to get help with Penhaligons scents always directed to a screen that doesn’t work… why not help me in person? Buying that at F&M instead now

I think Jarrolds had surpassed John Lewis as the best department store in Norwich. Lovely choice of places to eat inside. The Bay seafood restaurant is really nice.

The bay restaurant, place for seafood foodies. Staff lovely and accommodating. We had the salmon taster board with pickled Cucumber and the Veggie platter. Only suggestion for the veggie would be to add salmon for additional cost, then perfect. Highly recommend and will be back.

A traditional department store and there's nothing wrong with that. Restaurant is good and the food, essentially a Christmas dinner, was great. Tasty, well cooked, good value.
