So much on offer here and such a beautiful building, they never disappoint us each year with their Christmas displays this year wrapping the whole building in a giant red gift bow which looks amazing. I very much like how they support local small creators and businesses I was blown away to see so many lovely local stalls on the 2nd floor for their Christmas market ,this was lovely to see so many handmade local gifts. Huge floors filled to the brim with such a varied selection of goods. Something for everyone here and they have a bar and restaurant inside too just brilliant. Always enjoy my visits ,friendly helpful staff too✨

Yesterday when I was shopping in Jarrold's attempting to look for an alternative dairy free chocolate for my sister aside from booja booja chocolate which is well known to manage allergies as my sister has an extreme intolerance to dairy and it is important especially at Christmas that she is able to enjoy some chocolate without having a reaction. The level of asking for help from staff was beyond appalling. No staff were around to help or ask advice and the only time there was just one member of staff about he was far too busy chatting away to someone he knew for more than 15 minutes when I was standing close by at my wits end and tired from looking around for something I couldn't find, in the end I gave up and went to the till to pay for what I did find and asked the woman on the till about weather she knew of any other alternatives to dairy free chocolate, she was extremely rude and interrupted me when I was speaking to speak up. I was absolutely shocked at such low standards and lack of manners. As it goes none of the staff seem to have had a clue about anything in the department. Jarrold's is a very popular place and usually sells a great deal of good quality items it was rather upsetting that the standards seemed to have dropped recently, I really hope I do not experience that quality of service again.

Jarrolds I love your shop my family and I have been coming to your shop most of my life , the food is great too. But your toilet situation is not, multiple times I've found that your toilets are not very well stocked and it's a little embarrassing to find either not enough toilets available or tissue dispensers restocked or toilets blocked I'd be happy to remove this Review if I saw some progress but it's never been the case why such a large shop but only 3 male cubicles, 2 on second floor and 1 in the basement I know your a great company I just feel like someone should say something. I had £223.20 taken from my account by Jarrolds and it took days before getting it back. I did not make a purchase for this amount ever! I bought something for £145.80 but they charged me £223.20 & even though it shouldn't have been a refund they began a refund process which meant I was 48 hours being down in my bank account £77.20. I had emails ignored, and was left wondering for a lot of this time but they did send me a gift of shortbread and two of the items they were giving away free with the purchase I'd made anyway, alongside a body cream and some perfume samples - I needed my money, but the manager dealing with the case never replied and was too busy to talk to me when I called on 3 different occasions. When the money eventually came back to me 48 hours later, they also managed to process another £223.20, taking that amount from my account for a second time. The money went to pending, which meant the funds were been taken from my available balance to sit within their banking platform. My bank said they would have been able to either cancel it then the money would be reversed to me, claim it (in which case they would commit fraud), or sit on it until eventually it dropped off the system & at that point be returned to me days later. Jarrolds chose the latter option. Their MD John Adams told me I had to wait. I don't think he fully understood what had happened, and disbelieved it despite the bank assuring me my account had been wiped and it was all their end. I was hung up on and told they'd only speak to me on email because they didn't want their calls recorded (I'd told them I needed to record because they kept saying this problem was nothing to do with them and I needed record of that because I knew that wasn't true). So they wouldn't talk, majority of my emails went unresponded to and MD John Adams, when he did reply, didn't answer my questions. I explained that £223.20 is a lot for any family to not have when it belongs to them, that I didn't have any other money at this point in the month & that the bank had told me it was ONLY them who could do anything. He ignored that. Eventually, Thursday afternoon John Adams said he'd refund me the £145.80 (which makes no sense as sure I'd have that back but I'd still be down £223.20 meaning the £77.80 of my money would be back with them. I also pointed out a refund (another one - even though I'd not taken anything back) would take 2-5 working days and asked how this would help the situation. John did not reply to me. And I emailed him on the hour for the rest of the day. So not accepting phone calls, not replying to emails and then they blocked me on social media when I started sharing this on my Instagram account (@rocknrollerbaby). It definitely felt like they were attempting to silence me while still saying they'd done nothing wrong (even after I sent them my bank statement to prove what they'd done)! My aunt, a district judge advised me, Thursday evening, to tell them I would peacefully protest in Jarrolds store on Friday morning if it was not returned by then. I did this and though I received no reply, I did wake up Friday morning to my money being returned to me. This was the very worst customer service I've ever experienced (and that's aaying somwthing because I've stayed at Premier Inn and been to Legoland - if you've been to either you'll know how low Jarrolds has gone - trying to find some humour). It's been worrying, upsetting and time consuming, all to fight for money which is mine and I never, ever spent with Jarrolds in Norwich. Jarrolds have humiliated me by putting me in a position of needing to borrow in order to bridge their mistake. And they've done nothing to help. I would never shop with them again but if you do, don't use a debit card, don't do it on line and don't expect any kind of decent customer service if anything goes wrong.

I will be going back for some extra special bits to put on the table. Polite staff, clean and a wide selection of quality items. One of the must go to shops in Norwich when shopping for a special gift or just to treat yourself. The restaurant or wine bar are both with visiting too. 2024 We had often thought of visiting the Cheese and Charcuterie bar on our 7th Anniversary since we first met was a great opportunity. We enjoyed a glass of white rioja and a pinot grigio to accompany a salmon platter and and anti-pasti platter. The service was friendly and our wine and food just perfect. It was just the kind of food that we enjoy with plenty of flavour. The only slight negative was a lack of flavour in the crayfish tails (probably because they were a bit cold) but they were fine with the sauce or pickled vegetables. Overall a very positive experience and we will be back! 2012 A beautiful store. When I first visited I thought I was in John Lewis.

How many makeovers has this 1st floor eatery gone through over time ? Have used all of them during 50 years in Norwich. Yes prices rise and steeply recently but there is always the issue of value for money and sadly. this isn't the case with Benji's latest manifestation. No complaints about the service and potential of what is offered - there just isn't very much of it now. Paying £13,50 for a bowl of heavily milked scrambled egg, a tiny ( and tough skinned ) Toulouse sausage all balked out with half a toasted baguette doesn't seem like value to me. There are numerous other brunch outlets in Norwich producing more substance, quality and value than Benji's does now. It was once a busy, popular part of the Jarrold's store. This time at midday half empty and waiting staff nearly outnumbering the guests. Come on Jarrold's look at your pricing / profit margins again and restore our faith in this oasis on the 1st floor.

The cafe has changed but not for the best, you now have to order at the counter, the menu has been reduced. Food was open and sat there at the counter. I much preferred being served at the table it was always a lovely place to sit with friends and a great choice of food.

Well, we love Jarrold’s store and have dined in their restaurants prior to our latest visit and been happy with service and quality. However, there’s always a however, this visit with my daughter in law and granddaughter was very disappointing. My DiL went to the counter and ordered Croque Monsieur x 2 and Hummus on Sourdough for me. The Hummas and Sourdough arrived quickly as it was sitting on the counter uncovered for goodness knows how long. It then sat on the table for 10 minutes or so as we waited for the other food to arrive. Anyway, there was a skin on the Hummus and the bread could not be cut with the knife provided. Not a very appetising lunch out. Yes, with hindsight I should have taken it back to the serving counter and asked for something else. I wish I had!

I love the idea of a fairly posh family run department store. I love the food basement. However it is quite pricey in all departments. I rarely buy anything but love the relaxed atmosphere and old-fashioned vibe. It's good for unusual presents.

The "Makeover" is very underwhelming. Random bits of old wood tacked up. The blue and white tiles go with nothing else. The new tables look really awful, like they have been there donkeys years and need replacing. The tableware is mismatched with weirdly huge teapots. Nice concept Jarrolds, poor execution. The food wasn't particularly nice and it was expensive.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Jane Smith at the Estée Lauder counter. Jane's extensive knowledge, kindness, and exceptional assistance made my experience truly wonderful. She is a true asset to Jarrold's Estée Lauder. Thank you so much! X

Second time for breakfast and I feel it better value than lunch. Large portions, nice selections and kept us full all day. Lovely ambience and attentive staff. The only let down was the disappointing coffee, they need to up their game, especially for the cost. It is tiny and not very good. I am sure last time there was top ups.

Felt ignored all night, dined at Delias on many occasions as a couple and as family, but last night I’m sorry to say was not a joy! Booked for 2 birthday celebrations 24th & 18th it was nice to have cards signed by Delia on the table but that was where the special night after that went down hill. Lots of staff running around and looking after other tables , but we seemed to be forgotten , no bread was offered until we eventually asked for it after we had our starters we had to poor our own water and wines, not what you expect from Delias , Michelle the restaurant manager spoke with every table other than ours which I personally found very rude and odd Sorry but I would not rush to return, it’s an hour drive to get to Norwich for us so we expect to be treated properly £450 wasted !!!!

Taster menu and wine flight. Food well presented, service average. Food generally tasteless. Parsnip soup not particularly spicy and bland, gravlax like 1970s smoked salmon, venison very bland. Not usually a chocolate eater for pudding the take on Terrys chocolate orange I concede was delicious as was the pudding wine. With the exception of 2 of the white wines, you’d get a better wine flight from Lidl … decent but not really worth 55 of the King’s pound.
