Jake's America Diner in Central Bedfordshire

Me and my wife love Mac and cheese. Unfortunately we both spat out our fist mouthful of it, it just tasted wrong. Our burgers where very bland and flavourless. The chips where massively undercooked and unseasoned without even a grain of salt or anything. Getting a take away is a rare treat for us, unfortunately this choose was a mistake. Also their restaurant number is incorrect.

The hot dog was a cheap hot dog out of a tin, due to their burgers being brilliant we thought the hot dogs would be a ‘pork sausage’ but we was very disappointed. Wish we would have known prior to ordering. It was also over 30 mins late and we pre ordered. The meals we had before this were fine though. Recommend the burgers and onion rings just not the hot dogs, it also had lack of onions on too.

Unfortunately no fried onions on the Oklahoma burger? Food tepid? Tasty though.

Foods always been good from here. Except i got halloumi fries instead of mozzarella sticks but they refunded.

Third time trying to order on just eat and third time cancelled want bother again , from the reviews already on here clearly poorly managed , why advertise if you cannot fulfill

Excellent food, good quality and price

Great burgers and wings. Good quality exceeded expectations. Even got fries with the burgers which we didn’t expect! Coleslaw though. Ditch it low quality so easy to make your own?

The food is to die for ! I had the chicken strips and my partner had the pulled pork hotdog. Absolutely delicious

Please check reviews when ordering! Food was sub standard, late and average. None of us finished meals, definitely not worth £80bfor 4 meals, made us feel horrible and bloated. Really disappointed.

Restaurant had promise, they could have sold a lot in town but it was extremely poorly managed from the start. Please read most of the reviews below and see that it’s gotten progressively worse over time, leading to a plethora of 1 star reviews. They used to have a walk in shop that people could go in. Sit down and order from. Or take away, that place is now completely cleared out and empty. It never opens, despite being the only restaurant of this type for miles. It had NOBODY to compete with. And still lost. Let that fact sink in. They supposedly went to “just eat” only but your order will most likely be cancelled because they don’t even know when they will be open or not. All in all. This is another 1 star review. Put down purely because it was managed by someone who is obviously seriously inept at running a business. I’ll update this if it ever gets back on its feet. But I highly doubt that will happen unfortunately.

The food - underwhelming. The quality has definitely deteriorated since last order. potato skins are half a potato with minimal topping. Mac n cheese is a half full tin, with no extra cheese on top, bread is dry, kids meal average.

I've eaten from them in the past and the food has been decent, but I'm having an issue where they're accepting orders on just eat, then cancelling them with no explanation. Then they're set to not accepting orders on just eat. Almost like they forgot to set it to not accepting in the first place.

Food was late and cold. Chips weren’t cooked properly. Chicken tenders were not as described and no sauce or dip. Mozzarella dippers arrived with no dip either

hallomi wasnt crispy and was soggy n not crunchy, i ordered a drink with my food and it never came

The food arrived cold, plastic cheese, cheap nasty supermaket coleslaw, nasty cheap burger buns, over salted chips. Both our dinners went in the bin and I ended up making omelette, We tried them when they first opened, it was poor then. Decided to try again today in the hope of improvement. Just wasted over £30

Cold tastless dry burger dry old stale burger roll lettuce was brown chips was cold tried the food 3 times same everytime and the owner is very rude calls you a lier and swears at you 100% dont recommend atall avoid

Food was amazing and good quality. The boxes came wrapped in foil to be kept warm. The burger wasnt hot but wasnt cold and tasted so good. Would definitely order from here again. Delivery was early and the driver was absolutely lovely!

tiny burgers, no southern fried seasoning, soggy buns, milkshakes need to be eaten with a spoon, and cheesy chips were undercooked&soggy, strangely come with a tablespoon of cheese sauce, not actual cheese?

Food was beyond reasonably late, and the boxes were put in a bag sideways, so all my food fell to one side of the box while all sauces were stuck to box lid. Was barely hot and very disappointed in all

Food was late but was made aware of this as received message saying it was running late so didn't mind too much. Food was really nice only criticism is that the breakfast only had 4 bits of mushrooms & would have liked more but in all it was good 👍

The food was good, but nothing to write home about. However, the delivery was 30 minutes late from the expect delivery time, and the food was not very hot. We are also unable to call to make a complaint as the number is no longer active. Hard to recommend to be honest with you.

Tasty food, but it was cold by the time it was here about 5-10 mins late.

Hour and a half to deliver and a meal missing. No option to edit meals ie add or remove items and they don’t read their notes. Freezing cold food when it did eventually get here. Burgers also burnt and black.

fries weren't loaded as described on menu it was fries with a side of meat which was rather disappointing considering the price pancakes were just cooked and rather dry and cakey not fluffy its a shame as the food used to be really nice seems its gone downhil and not much love put into the cooking anymore.

We ordered a takeaway from Jake's American Diner on Saturday evening through Just Eat. We ordered 2 x Chicken Fajitas and 1 x Chicken Wings. The chicken wings were cold upon delivery, as were the fajitas. The fajitas are advertised as coming with fries and coleslaw, we had no coleslaw or fries with either of our fajita orders. The portion sizes were ridiculously small with little to no peppers or onions included, there was barely enough chicken to fill one tiny wrap. The chicken was dry and chewy and after one bite of the chicken, the food went in the bin. We attempted to call the restaurant and were advised we'd get a call back (we didn't), we phoned the Just Eat delivery driver and were met with her apologies (wasn't her fault) and she said she'd ask the restaurant to call (they didn't). We put in a refund request to Just Eat which has since been rejected. Not only did we waste money ordering from this place, we then had to make alternative dinner plans. How so called ''restaurants'' are able to serve up such dross and get away with charging for it/not offering any sort of refund is beyond me. Not only were the portion sizes and quality of the food way below standard, we were charged for fries and coleslaw that weren't delivered/included.

Friendly delivery driver. Mozzarella sticks were cooked to perfection. Chicken well seasoned as were the chips. Beef burger and pulled pork excellent.

Overall the food was OK, the shake is where the order excelled, which was very good. Unfortunately I have to agree with many other reviews, the food was very dry and burger was very charred and a bit burnt. Delivery was also late.

Everytime I go on just eat to order my local breakfast from my local so called best American diner breakfast place…. ITS ALWAYS SHUT. Never taking orders. What’s the point of having a restaurant/takeaway if you’re only interested in selling pints and alcohol and letting kids with knife’s in your pub garden smoking weed? This place needs to be shut down asap. I mean it’s never open for takeaways anyways so might as well take it off just eat and shut it down. Very unsafe place would never take my kids there.

I usually enjoy this place however it took 2 hours to be delivered so ended up having to order elsewhere. Shocking.

Didn’t receive any of the slaw with the meals I asked for 1 smash burger to be just cheese and bacon but both came with sauce and salad which was disappointing but to be honest the food was very good quality and tasted great really is just a shame that my instructions were followed

This is not an American diner. This is half a pub arbitrarily decorated with random bits of American paraphernalia. The other half is just a regular pub. It has the authenticity of the Glaswegian Willy Wonka experience and the food was bang average.

Ordered for delivery. Delivery time not bad but that's about as positive as I can be. Turned up cold, chips overdone and dry as a bone. Chicken burger burnt and dried out. Not the cheapest for seriously below par food.

Most of the time the food is great however small matter being the kids food is always heavily coated in salt and sometimes the normal food portions are too that they can sometimes be a little too salty. Other than that great service and food.

The chilli nachos were lovely, still crispy, not soggy! The burger and fries were yummy, definitely have that again and the halloumi was great!!! Called us to let us know that few items unavailable and delivery will be a bit later which I really appreciated. Only negative was that the chicken sub was really try and southern fried chicken a bit over done. Have ordered from here before and will again.

Walked in wondering what to order and the lady forced us to get out as we didn’t know what to order, being very rude towards us and the customers.the service is very poor and would not recommend at all as members of staff are very rude and arrogant. Sorry but going back to loft I’m affraid.

Bad place to be cheap rubbish food

The chicken in the burrito was burnt and the sausage in the hot dog was cold. The delivery time was very poor.

Delivered in timely manner, and good temperature. Even the fries were still crispy (a miracle for takeaway). Burger was decent, bacon cripsy, cheese gooey. Bun could do with more toasting to actually support it's contents. Burrito was forgettable. Nothing wrong, just bland.

The food was excellent, and the delivery Lady was fantastic. I would recommend Jake’s Dinner food and delivery to anyone who wants a good meal and a great service.

Burgers were big and nice, buns were slightly burned on 1 side. Fries were too hard/crispy to actually eat, they were like they had been fried then left under heat for a long time. From ordering to delivery was 1:45 hours

Long delivery time window but did come earlier than stated. Food was gorgeous!

Order didn’t arrive 2 hours after ordering. First they delayed my order which I thought was very strange considering I only ordered a kids burger meal and garlic bread. Ordered at 7.45pm they delayed delivery time to 9.45pm for such a small order then it didn’t arrive it’s now 10pm. I won’t be ordering from them again! I advise if you order definitely don’t go for a steak or ribs I can only imagine how long the delivery delay will be then. HORRIBLE SERVICE HORRIBLE!! :(

2 hours between ordering and arrival.... Burger was decent but could taste the charring on the burger, BUN and bacon with every mouthful. Chips were so over cooked they were dehydrated and made my mouth bleed! Overall not worth the time or the money. Would possibly order again for myself (bacon mac and cheese caught my eye), but would not recommend

On time but chips were cold, dry and hard. Chicken strip portion was also very dry and tiny for the price. Burgers were okay, but I wouldn’t order again.

The fries were cold and overcooked, they went in the bin, they were poor quality, The burgers were OK,

placed an order, and it arrived missing an item, tried phoning the restaurant a few times. I got no answer so have requested a refund for the missing item.

Just had our food order delivered, well half of it the other is missing, have tried ringing for well over 20 mins now with no answer so haven't been able to complain or find out about the missing food. Decided to shake the meal we had only to find out the fries were not just over cooked but so overcooked they were hard, not very nice at all. Sorry but so disappointed all I can say to any perspective customers is please don't order from here, find somewhere else to get your food from.
