Indian spice in Central Bedfordshire

Since I wrote this review a few years ago, giving 5 stars at the time, the food has changed. I presume the ownership changed? Anyway I ordered Butter chicken a week last Saturday and it really upset my tummy. It was very runny, very creamy, and tasted of coconut and strangely yellow, which is not how I have ever had butter chicken before, usually buttery and rich, and full of subltle flavours. I don't think it was off, it just wasn't very enjoyable & didn't suit me (I do have some gut problems which it affected. (Butter chicken recipes have always been fine) also there was very small portion of chicken. My upset tummy is only just recovering over a week later. I hope this takeaway can be brought back to its previous delicious high quality recipes. But for now I will most definitely not be returning. I was prompted to review again as I had a follow up text asking me to order again, which was not welcome as I've had a really bad week due to the food! We love Indian Spice - consistently beautifully cooked food and excellent service. Thank you.

OK, Not normally one to complain publicly..but I have given the vendors @ispicebiggleswade an opportunity to put things right, and they declined to do so.."I Spice" takeaway should be avoided at all costs, there has been a change of management and I do not want anyone to get dealt up dishes like I got on Saturday, please, please save your money and order elsewhere..Please see images attached..the brown dish should have been chicken tikka..it had no salad, I had to put it on a tray once delivered to stop the oil dropping on my floor, another image shows how much oil was in 3 x dishes...These dishes where flavourless,I am really pissed off with them, been a customer here for 8 years!..this service is sub standard, please have look and learn spread the word, they are knicking a living!!

Worst food ever, trying to add images if i can, they did not give a damm when we complained...avoid at all costs, please save your money and go elsewhere!!

Usually good food but last night was awful. Swimming in oil, very salty. Definitely not the standard I was expecting. Would think twice before ordering again 🤔........

Disgusting. Our disgust of price increases. Ordered from last menu. Imagine our surprise of £10:00 increase. And to top that Ordered Chicken Malaysia (Chicken with Pineapple) should be Pineqpple with Chicken). As more complete Pineapple slices than Chicken. Don't expect to be enjoyed more extremely disappointed.

Horrid oily food is the header of this review. Cold food swimming in oil ridiculous wait for food order was placed for 7:00PM didn't turn up until 8:15PM when I answered the door I found a delivery driver crying becuase she had been shouted at by the person in the restaurant she was sent to Royston and we are in sandy big diffrence in Location utter horrid staff when I enquired about where the food was never again will we be using this establishment for food

Just got this tonight, very disappointed and dissatisfied, very very bland no taste whatsoever, never been like this before. Looks like it's only been coloured with turmeric. Never again.

If I could give it a 0 I would. After waiting an hour and half for this food, I found a copper coil in my food, food which was luke warm. After speaking to a employee who I had to send pictures to he told me the manager will call me. One hour later still no phone call. I then call again spoke to the manager who was unaware of my situation and explained to me he can not give me the refund but can give me a discount on my next order. If this was just the korma being cold I would have accepted but it was metal. I explained this was not good enough and at this point the manager spoke over me several times and was quite rude. STAY AWAY.

Incredibly disappointing takeaway. The meat samosas had barely any filling and were very greasy. The limited filling was bland, as was the salmon tikka. The Lamb Dhansak was ok but unnecessarily oily. I enjoy trying all the local places but found this very underwhelming unfortunately.

Another superb takeaway, delivered as arranged. The best, by far, which is why we keep coming back. Thank you, Indian Spice x x

Don't be put off by the initial appearance, excellent food with great pieces of good meat and nicely spiced. The poppadoms were nice and crispy with the chutneys adding that special touch to a take away - well done.

We ordered a meal on New Year Eve that we had to cancel because after 2 hour wait and no text updates we called and were told it would be another hour wait before delivery (10.30pm). We were promised a refund and 50% off our next meal that we never received. You cannot go through the app to claim the refund that the man from Ispice told us. We thought we would give them another go tonight as we like the food but we had to call to chase the order then when it arrived we didn't receive the nan bread we ordered or the free chicken bhuna main for spending over £33 instead we got a Bombay aloo which contained 4 bits of potato and no sauce. when we complained they said they were really busy run out of chicken bhuna and we could have our next meal at half price and he hang up. REALLY NOT HAPPY. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND I-SPICE

Good Indian never had any problems and always early with delivery..

We ordered 6.32 on new years eve, expected it to be a bit late, we knew it would be busy. They said 7.55, so we waited, called at 8.30 and they said another 25 mins, then checked on just eat via a text and updated for 9.30. It's now 10.22 and can't get through on phone. Requested refund. Just disappointed, as no communication from takeaway, as really looking forward to the food, but now having some toast to kill the hunger and soak up the beer.

We really fancied an Indian takeaway last night and was recommended by my friend to try I-spice. We did and it was amazingly good the madras was hot and the meat was tender and not dry. The only thing we wasn’t keen on was the keema nan bread my hubby ordered as it seemed a little a little thin on the meat inside other than that brilliant Even my girls enjoyed the korma. Will be ordering again 👌

Not the usual standard that we have previously experienced, Pathia not like any other I have tasted before, no sweetness and Bhuna bland and tasteless, on top of that the bag had split and one Bhuna fell all over floor only saving grace was they provided a free Bhuna dish, and so not totally ruined. The 10% discount persuaded us to use this takeaway but on reflection should have gone to our normal one.

This is a takeaway/delivery only place. We always order from here when we fancy Indian food, the food is always delicious, fair prices. Best Indian food in the area.

I’m not from Biggleswade but I was in the area and In need of cheering up. The search for my favourite comfort food was on. Luckily I stumbled on Indian Spice and it didn’t disappoint. My meal of Chicken Dansak, Peshwari Naan, Onion Bhaji and King Prawn Tandoori was superb. Not greasy just super tasty. Indian Spice is cheap too. 10 out of 10!

Really good Indian food at a more than reasonable price. Having sampled Indian food all over, I would say that they do the best chicken tandoori with in the Bedfordshire area. A note though, it is a takeaway place only.

Great food, always use this place for Indian takeaway meal. Very tasty food and quick delivery, online ordering and payment is very easy.

I returned to this take away following a recent change of management, a new menu and 5 food hygiene rating awarded. The food was OK a few years ago but went downhill so I got my curries elsewhere in town. The food is now very good, good value and quickly prepared. The chicken vindaloo is excellent - perfect if you love hot spicy authentic Indian food without being unbearable.

Just had our second takeaway from here. I we had prawn purée chicken with chillis and Bombay aloo and garlic nann, it was all perfect wonderful flavours. Ordered through their app and got 10% off, and another free Bombay aloo and pickles. It arrived on time and tidy,

I have ordered from here before and been pleased however this time none of us were happy with our meals. It was delivered 20 minutes late. Both the Bombay potatoes were in a watery thin sauce and had large pieces of potato that was raw in the middle. Both of our curries were also watery with no depth of flavour. I can only think that they have a different chef or it’s under new ownership. I will give them one more try another time and hope this was just a one off.

Always order a curry from here and I have never been disappointed. The set meal for 2 is great value for money. The food is always hot when it arrives, the salad is always fresh and the condiments are bang on the money. Lovely jubbly CC

Best quality and tastiest Indian food in Biggleswade. They have good deals on the just eat website too.
