Currently Jakes is only open for limited hours to sell a range of takeaway ales and ciders in bottles and portable kegs. I will be getting some takeouts later. This time I got a takeaway baileys hot chocolate with squirty cream which was delicious. Served by a friendly staff member. I cannot wait for this pub to reopen.

This is an excellent micro pub with friendly service, customers that will always stop to chat. Often has live music on Sundays and our last visit was Christmas Eve late afternoon. Packed out and a great atmosphere. Not tried New Years Eve yet but believe it’s a great experience. If you haven’t tried Jakes yet then go and try.

This is a cracking little pub in the site of a former women's clothes shop. It is smallish and narrow inside. Pub stool seating and tables and retro decoration. They always have a range of good real ales mostly local, last night there were some ales from Poynton. They also do a range of bottled beers from across the world, and a range of different ciders. They do a massive range of crisps, pork scratchings ect.Always a warm and friendly welcome, they also have a back room with great decoration of band posters, tickets and the like Have seating outside.I cannot recommend this place enough. They also now have another pub in Gee Cross.

This is a very comfortable, friendly microbar serving a selection of very well kept cask ales, there is also an extensive gin collection along with craft lagers and bottled beers. Friendly clientele who create a good atmosphere, well worth seeking out, recommended.

This place just gets better and better. Plenty of craft ales changed on a regular basis, over 45 gins to choose from along with some really decent wines if that’s what you’re looking for. A very friendly atmosphere that is created by the very friendly owners. Live music on some nights which creates a really good atmosphere. Best place in area for a decent pint and a good chat.

One of the best outlets in Romiley. Jake's is a small bar serving a good and regularly changing range of cask ale from local breweries and further afield. They also have a wide range of gins, decent wines, various pump lagers, and more specialised bottled beers, lagers and ciders. Seating for around 40 people in the front room and there is a further room at the back which is available if not booked (groups can book it for meetings etc). The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, there is piped music which is generally low level, if you're on your own it's almost inevitable you will be engaged in conversation with somebody before too long it you want to. They don't serve food but there is a range of bar snacks to buy. One thing to note, at the time of writing it only accepts cash payment. There is an ATM staight across the road.

This is a brilliant independent micro pub, which is located in a former shop. It is in the centre of Romiley. There is limited seating in and around the bar area on wooden tables, limited seating outside, and a back room for extra seating. They do a range of cask ales, some local and some further afield, along with a range of bottled ales, and lagers, also do a range of craft lagers and ciders on draught and a range of other drinks. Do a limited range of bar snacks.A great local pub. The only downside is it is a bit small and can get crowded. Poor music on the night we visited. But otherwise brilliant.

The selection of drinks is brilliant, the atmosphere is brilliant, the staff are brilliant. The place is spotless clean, the customers all always seem happy. Its just off the train line so easy for those that like to travel to sample different places and beers etc. The family that run it are local known and have roots in the village from way back. It really is just what Romiley needed pub wise, no idiots, no mither, just good family atmosphere. I recommend Jakes Ale House Romiley to anyone near or far, Darren the landlord always has a story to share and Cheryl landlady makes sure everyone behaves 💚

Popped in here for a quick refreshing drink whilst shopping. The range of beers, ciders and lager is extensive to say the least. You just don't know where to start. There are craft beers a plenty fir those who might own a camra and a board on the wall explaining what is what from where for those who haven't. It is well worth a visit and it won't cost you an arm n leg to drink here although you might think its cost you two legs if you have to much of the strong stuff, they simply won't work. Staff are very helpful to assist in your selection

What an excellent addition to the High Street this is! I took my wife for a drink. The propietor made us very welcome and we really enjoyed the rustic feel of the place. I tried two of the real ales on offer and they were both of an excellent standard. The ale house is an excellent place a pleasant night out and is situated in a great location right in the town centre. It deserves to be successful and I am sure it will be. I look forward to many return visits.

Lovely little "micro" pub in what was an old clothes shop, main road through Romiley. Room for maybe 20-30 people. Brilliant beer. Yes, you can have a Bacardi and Coke if you really have to:) No slotties, no crap music. Quirky old furniture. Great landlord (Daz? Dave?) and friendly locals. A great pre-dinner spot.

.I like my ales so I was delighted to see an ale house opening in Romiley First night opening 2 good tasty well conditioned beers were delivered and enjoyed in a friendly rustic enviroment. . Unfortunately have visited since and I have not experienced the same quality of beer. Hoping this is just teething problems as Romiley is short of a pub that sells interesting tasty well conditioned ales consistently. This place could do well if the land lord got it right

Met with a few friends to try out this new venue in romiley that had opened a f ew days before. The place is small and compact but immediately as I walked in I was greeted by dave the friendly landlord .He has a selection of craft beers ciders lagers and even a mild and allows you taste a small sample before deciding your drink of choice .The place is small quaint and friendly and still in the process in parts of being converted from its previous use as a ladies cloths shop .The beers were a little on the expensive side but this is offset by the quality .For people who like a good drink and are not bothered about frills I would definitely recommend this place and I will certainly be visiting it again often in the future .It has a warm friendly atmosphere and a little of the familiar feel of an old fashioned local with a welcome to match.

I have been coming to this fab cafe since it opened with my children when they were younger with other mummies and have also used it as a business space. The staff are always really accommodating and since the pandemic have worked really hard to accommodate everyone they can whilst making everyone feel safe and welcome. The food is fantastic and we always recommend it to everyone. Even during a difficult time with the rules changing all the time they are still smiling and making everyone feel very welcome

This was my third visit to Feed since moving to the area and unfortunately, it will likely be my last when it comes to food. I decided to try their Sunday roast this time, but it turned out to be a major letdown. While my partner enjoyed her meal, my experience with the roast beef was disappointing enough that I ended up leaving the entire meal. The beef was tough, undercooked and had the unappetising appearance of something that had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The roast potatoes were equally underwhelming — dry and stale, as if they had been prepared the day before. The greens were burnt and the gravy was watery and flavorless. To their credit, the staff did ask for my feedback and offered me a free dessert, which I declined. Instead, they gave me a complimentary cookie and removed my partner’s drink from the bill. While I appreciated the gesture, I would have preferred if they had addressed the real issue — the £20 I paid for a meal I couldn't eat. Sadly, this experience has solidified my decision not to dine at Feed again. The coffee is still great, so I may return for that, but as for the food, I think I’m done.
