My partner ordered delivery from here and was told 9 o clock but it was here and eaten by 8:40! Incredible food, a friendly delivery driver and amazing service. You definitely get your money's worth here, and then some with their cheap prices.

We have used Jade Garden for over 20 years and have always been happy with both food and service. We recently ordered a family takeaway for eight of us and were totally let down. The food was not anywhere near its usual standard and some was totally inedible. When I called to discuss (politely) I wasn’t able to speak to anyone in management and was asked to return the food to them - no apology or explanation as to what had gone wrong and no offer to deliver a replacement. Having being a customer for 20 years plus Iand never having any complaint I would have hoped for a better service when things went wrong 🙁

Food was awful very bland and everything was very dry. Chicken tasted awful. Really an awful take away. Phoned up to complain and they said they had a new chef who really was not up to scratch. They were not interested and said could do nothing about it and hung up the phone on me. Will think twice about ordering from Jade Garden as they really didn’t care about the quality of the food they were serving. Very unhappy customer.

My favourite Chinese take away and now has 5/5 on food hygiene up from the previous 2. Congrats guys, food is always great and I'm so glad you've improved your scores. Food is so consistent, always hot, tasty and fresh. Record time from order to delivered for me is 12 mins!

I’ve used Jade Garden for years, but since learning that improvement is urgently needed with their food hygiene and they are only rated 2, we’ll be ordering our takeaways elsewhere :-(

Place and staff very pleasant, food awful, beef tough, pork not chinese, 1st time visiting,last time visiting. No taste at all I can honestly say with any doubt that is the worst chinese I have bought in many many years. Chips copy cats to mcdonalds, dreadful but a least mcdonalds are not swimming in grease and soggy. All gone into the bin .I give it one star for the Staff

Worst Chinese I ever had. Barbecue ribs had hardly any meat on them and what little there was was tough as boots. Chow mien was horrible. Meat tough too. Hardly ate any of the meal. Wouldn’t recommend.

Ordered food, when we got it home rice order was wrong, rang them and was told either come back or they would put a credit in place for next time. Then got a call back 5 mins later saying it was my fault as I ordered incorrectly which I did not. Terrible customer service, food ok, service rubbish, not planning on going back as wrong order has happened 3 or 4 times now!!

Tried a few Chinese take aways in Taunton town and was not good experience. Stumble on Jade Garden website and read the good reviews. Gave it a try and we were not disappointed. The food tasted yummy. The ingredients were fresh, generous amount and most of all tasty. Also not go without mentioning the price is reasonable. Would certainly order again despite the long wait to collect food. Instead of 20min, it was 45 min. They were pretty busy. We'll worth the wait as the food is pretty good.

The food is gorgeous, but the payment process is painful. No card machine, no card payments. They suggest you order via the website if you want to pay via card…. Website is painful, makes the whole process for the customer time consuming and annoying. Went in for a takeaway.. ended up paying a delivery charge when I was in the takeaway place.. Please, please, please Just buy a card machine… let me know when you do.. because that’s when I’ll be back.

Horrendous experience!! We were celebrating on January 25th and decided to order a Chinese meal. We used the Jade Garden Website to order our food to be delivered. After the order completed, we didn't get a confirmation message. I checked with my online bank and the money had gone out of our account. My wife phoned them and explained the situation. Their attitude was disgraceful and basically told her that there was nothing they could do! We decided to go there personally. On arrival, we were treated with the same attitude - there's nothing we can do, you haven't made an order. We showed them screenshots of the order and also showed them proof that the money had left our account. The owner of Jade Garden appeared completely clueless and made a phone call to try and check the order. The person who answered the call said they had called the wrong number and the wrong company......absolutely clueless!! So basically, I said: we can prove that we paid, you can't prove that we haven't, so I want a refund now! This went on for a good 10 - 15 minutes, but when more customers came in, the owner spoke in his own language to one of his staff who then finally gave us our £29 back. What a fuss!! Never ordering from them again. Horrible experience!!

Been a customer of this Chinese since we moved to Taunton and have never had an issue, collection is only ever around 15mins and every dish I've tried has been great!

Hopeless. Ordered at 7pm with a 1hr wait. Rang at 8.25 and it was just about to leave. Finally received 8.55! This was for one main, one rice, spring rolls and bag of chips! This isn't the first time so won't bother again! Better customer service out there!

JG are polite and obviously inundated with home deliveries. Excellent Chinese home delivery service and more importantly good food. Cannot understand those that give bad reviews because they don’t take cash. Get a cheque book or pay over the phone etc etc.LOL.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY!! Specifically told them I needed sweet snd sour dish to be gluten free. They ‘checked’ and agreed. 1am started to have extreme pain sickness / diarrhoea and was fainting / going into shock, couldn’t speak was in so much pain. Following day was still in pain and feeling very unwell due to my dish that I’d specifically asked them to be gluten free, actually contained gluten. This is so so dangerous to ignore an allergy information that they’d been given. They advertise that they are friendly towards any ‘dietary requirements’ - they’re definitely not.

The Food is good but their policy on cash only is wrong in this pandemic/time. We ordered then spent nearly an hour trying to find some where in Taunton that had cash! They phoned me and asked me where I was, I suggested they changed their ‘no cards’ policy! Why in this day and age do they only take cash? I won’t be going again and we’ve been good customers for over 20 years.

Very variable quality between dishes. Some tasty - some bland. Satay tofu didn't taste of much at all., but sweet and sour veg was good. The food was ordered online, but I rang restaurant to check food was vegan and was assured that yes it was. Rice had egg in it. Rang restaurant again and was told it was OK. No it's not! In the end they sent fresh rice out, but won't be ordering from here again. I wouldn't be able to trust them to be honest about the food.

Lied to on the phone about delivery, waited 2 hours and had to phone several times. Told they couldn't contact the driver to get an update, cancelled the ordered. Awful customer service, really long delivery time

Very disappointed, Food just ok , but was only Luke warm, Sweet and sour sauce just a congealed lump in the container ,This was how it was last time and we asked this time when ordering for them to make sure the sauce was hot and pourable and it still came as a lump of jelly you could not pour. Reheated microwaved rubbery chips,(the fact they came double wrapped in two paper bags was The give away)and still only just warm. I cannot understand why a business would risk its reputation by giving customers reheated chips that costs pennies. I would not recommend Jade garden Taunton, Drive a mile into town and get it elsewhere.

Food here would be good if only they gave you it hot .(with fresh chips.) Third time I’ve had sweet and sour king prawn , previous two times the sauce has been Luke warm and almost a lump of jelly , so heated it up myself , This week I specifically asked that the sauce was hot , unfortunately it was again, just a lump of Luke warm set jelly nearly all the way through, the rice only just warm and the chips had been reheated, (part reheated in a microwave I suspect,the fact they came in a paper bag placed inside another gave it away , Collected this meal just after they opened so getting reheated chips is a chance you take. The prawn balls were ok hot and fresh As the rest of the meal should have been, Will not be going to Jade Garden again. Also they only accept cash . Quite dear so should be sending out fresh cooked quality hot food .

Forgot 3 items from the order. No apology. Still charged for missing food. The food that we got was decent, but fairly unremarkable. Unfortunate, as Jade Garden used to taste wonderful and have great service, but isn’t what it used to be.

Sadly no concern from Jade Garden about how a small piece of wire ended up in my chow mein. Very disappointed at thier attitude, I was told the information would be passed over to the chef but the man I spoke with over the phone didn't really seem alarmed at all!

Really great food. Even when it was close to closing time it was good.

Very enjoyable food. I ordered various dishes and each tasted uniquely different, was all very fresh the meats were tender was very impressed with my takeaway tonight.

We placed an order on NYE at 5pm when they opened through their online order service. The food said it would be delivered for 6:30pm. At 7:30pm we had still not had our food delivered, the phone lines had been blocked off for over 2 hours and so I had to drive down to find out what was going on. I arrived and the guy on the counter told me they hadn’t even started the delivery orders yet and so it hadn’t even been cooked!! They told me they purposely blocked all calls because they were overwhelmed with walk in orders and were prioritising them. I asked when they were going to bother letting us know our delivery was going to be delayed and they confirmed they weren’t going to as they blocked the calls - so I could have been waiting for hours with no food, no way of getting hold of anyone and no indication of when I’d eat. Absolutely HORRENDOUS service and attitude from the people there. I had to then wait for 20 minutes for them to give me my food - no refund, nothing on the house for an apology. There were another 2 people who came in whilst I was there with the same issue. DO NOT order from them. Never ever ever again.

Had evening meal with family, which given current circumstances with the Pandemic.....made perfect sense, Five meals selected, with squid, duck, steak dishes. Chow Mien and other accompaniment were first class. Competitively priced and delivered within 30 minutes.

I used to really enjoy a take away from here but, just lately, the food isn't the same quality as it used to be.

Just had a £60 take away for my sons 23 rd birthday, for 4 of us. This was without doubt the worst Chinese take away I have EVER had. Not one dish was remotely adequate let alone actually nice !!!! I will NEVER go here again and DO NOT RECCOMEND IT. Vile

Decent plentiful food. But my brother paid over the phone when ordering, and then they tried to charge me when collecting - good job I'd checked with my bro about payment. No way should that happen.

Frequent customer for many years until today! Chowing down on a special chow mein and discovered a dirty finger nail called complained never again.

This was the best chinese I have had in ages !! The food was incredibly tasty, light and not at all greasy and the portion sizes were fantastic. I had a seafood chow mein, incredible amount of seafood in this and so yummy. The prawn toast was the best I think I've ever had. The food came quick and piping hot too, which I was surprised about considering it's a saturday night and the UK's only option right now is takeaway. Really recommend and will definitely come back soon. I've got my eye on the seafood soup. Thank you very much guys made my week!! A new favourite!

First time we have used this Chinese takeaway after being rather stuck in a rut and always using another Taunton Chinese Takeaway...it was superb, good portion sizes, well cooked, great taste...may just find ourselves stuck in a rut using this takeaway from now on. Would recommend you try the Jade Garden

The delivery driver for a start was unfriendly, the food was so oily , chips were dry . Satay was not satay atall . Chicken balls were overdone ! Overall a real disappointment! Will not be ordering again !

This is the second and last time we order a home delivery from this takeaway. Promised delivery within 1 hour - no problem, but 1 1/4 hours later no food - phoned to ask when food will be delivered and put on hold for 5 minutes, to then be told just being cooked and we can offer some money off - asked when the food will be delivered, I was told sorry cant tell you! I replied “well are you talking 1/2, 1 or 2 hours?!?” Reply was at least 35 minutes! Forget it!

Absolutely waste of space phoned at 5.30 was told an hour been waiting 1 hour 45 mins to be then told no driver was to late to eat had two children to feed NEVER USE AGAIN

Very fast service of delicious food far too much tho we could have only need half quantity crispy duck was as advertised and again plenty of it prawns in sauce was gorgeous as was chicken and vegetables

Quite like this place, when we moved we found a lot of the Chinese takeaways put vegetables in the dishes that we never used to have where we used to live , neither myself or my other half are a big fan of veggies , they are always helpful and the staff are nice, prices are pretty good as well and the portions are good, hey will also modify dishes and take or add things in or out if you ask them nicely of course.

We haven't ordered from here before, definitely recommend, excellent food, good portion sizes, nice chunks of meat in the curry, sweet n sour chicken balls could do with a little more sauce but thats our preference, very tasty, nice batter and couldn't fault the chow mein. Only sorry I didn't have any cash to tip the delivery guy, I was surprised how quick the food was delivered. Will tip next time 😊

Ordered my food and by the time I sat down it was out, no way was it freshly cooked. Tasted very bland and not nice, people on reception are clueless too, tried to short change me too.

Waited for my order whilst everyone else was coming in and ordering their food and then taking it away. Eventually asked what I had ordered as they hadn’t put it through. Drove off up the road and realised I wasn’t given the whole order so drove back. Explained, no sorry in sight! They just banged the rest off my order on the counter and never even spoke to me let alone say sorry! Very poor!

Been going here about 3 years now, always been great fresh food, service excellent and you can see the chefs cooking. We tried most of the Chinese restaurants in Taunton and this is as good as any.

We all know there are plenty of choices for most styles of takeaway but if looking for Chinese this rates highlyThe food was a decent standard and comparatively priced The only thing is they don’t accept card payments which in this day and age is a little old fashioned as who carries cash !! If this could be adddressed then it would get top marks

Got home with my take away last night to find items missing. When I called they said I could go and pick it up, a 20 minute round trip while the rest of my food got cold!! Or I could have a ‘free’ portion next time. Hardly free when I’d paid for it already! We ate what we did have and I went back in for a refund. The woman wouldn’t come out from the back, instead left the young lad to give me a refund for my items. No gesture of goodwill for having to go back for my money or the fact my son didn’t get his meal! The food was average, won’t be going there again!!

Made an order for king prawn sweet and sour with egg fried .delivered in the time stated on take away app .the delivery personel polite .the food as always hot and tasty and good portion size for your money .the wife had lemon chicken and fried rice .before i could take pic ,she had scffed it down lol.my recommendation is for you to give it a try .was a lovely meal .please give me a thumbs up if this was useful cheers all

Muy bueno chino. Chow mein y dulce y amarga que he tenido en muchos restaurantes chinos es sin duda el mejor aquí. Puede ser bastante lento en la entrega. Que es sólo porque es tan popular. Te dan gratis cuando te gastas gambas galletas saladas £20. Es una pena que no ellos cuando gastar un poco menos como lo hacen en otros restaurantes. En general mi favorito Chino en llevar en Taunton, no superar la casa dorada en Minehead. . . . Hecho!

Just had a takeaway from this place. It was supposed to be Duck in plum sauce. No idea what is was. grossly overcooked and green in some places we could not even identify what meat it was. Worst Chinese food we have ever.

So they dont offer cards as payment option. Cash only. Unless you order on line. And pay extra. Found this out when was there. And the website is not phone friendly and isnt the easiest to put an online order. Took our 40£ plus order elsewhere as left in disgust.

Habiendo alcanzado la edad de 70 y he comido muchos chinos tome siempre, este era el peor. Pato crujiente con arranque no crujientes pero incinerado, resto de comida gris, soso, aguada y carne muy poco.

Este es uno de mis tiendas más cercano y lo uso cada par de meses, cuando el cansancio o las circunstancias lo requieran. Esta tarde he pedido mi habitual y fue muy decepcionante, fue un mixto de arroz, vegetales y platos de carne. La cantidad de arroz ha aumentado así como la cantidad de verduras, así que la cantidad de carne había disminuido considerablemente. También la salsa le faltaba sabor y era delgada.

Very poor service, didn't get a full delivery, then rung up to tell them and they called me a liar 3 or 4 times, also very rude on phone, delivery driver was very rude when delivery was brought. Will never use again.

Collected takeaway dinner on the way home, on opening the bag was disappointed to find the wrong order was supplied. Phoned to complain and get replacement meal delivered, was offered no apology and was told to drive back so they could check the order before supplying the correct meal.

Had the set meal for 2 (F3) on Saturday evening, the meal over all was first class, it was hot, the vegetables crunchy, rice cooked to perfection and all of the meat/prawns were tender with the small exception of a couple of the ribs that were slightly tough so a little mark down there, the staff were polite and efficient, overall I feel that you would be hard pushed to find a better Chinese takeaway in Taunton.

Ordered food. Only part of the order was delivered. Rang them to tell them. Was told that they wouldn't deliver the rest of the order because they were too busy and they wouldn't refund my money! I couldn't believe it. I'd paid for food which they refused to deliver or refund! I was told next time I order from them I could have it for free!!!! As if I'm ever going to order from them again. Terrible service, rude, never ever go there.

Tonight we ordered our meal at 6.30 and were told they're would be a 90 minute wait. Fair enough, its Saturday. 8.15 we phone to enquire where our food is to be told it's just been cooked and waiting for a driver. At 9 o'clock we phone again to be told the driver left 5 minutes ago. Eventually at 9.20 the food turned up but the driver wouldn't give us the food until we paid. We told her that there was no way we were paying for such poor service but she refused to leave the food (it had now been standing for an hour and 5 minutes). The driver left yet at 9.30 she phoned to offer the food for free. We declined this offer due to the risk of food poisoning. Absolutely shocking service, they should never be allowed to offer a delivery service.

on our way home from work the other night fancied a chinese .so popped into the jade garden as was going passed it anyway.made our order of lemon chicken,bbq spare ribs,king prawn sweet & sour & egg fried rice .you can see the chefs making your order through a glass window ,which was great watching them toss their woks about.order took 7 mins which was fast in my book as 2 people were already in front.got our order home & was very impressed large portions there was enough food for 3 people there tasty & hot just what was needed on a cold winters night.they even for a £1 deliver to your door .well worth it . would seriouly give this place a try.

I have been using Jade Garden for years and noting the negative reviews on this site have tried other takeaways (and try others around the country when on holiday) Jade Garden in Galmington is consistently the best. The food does always take ten minutes longer than they say though!

Shame I have to mark something and not a zero!!! Went in hour before closing OK wner was miserable and went to order he abruptly went yes I ordered a beef in a creamy black pepper sauce and boiled rtice casmne to 8 pound. Got it not even a bye or thankyou! Got home omg rice was warm the main dish had a runny bland sauce not creamy peppery one bit had about 8 strips of rubbery beef and no exaggeration the dish was mainly that and whole chopped thicklky with a whole green pepper and loads and loads of onion!! I could of brought a pepper and a onion if wanted fgor a pound from local shop!! Total disgusting will nbevcer return there food and customer service is more than terrible!!!

had this saturday night 7th of nov 2015 .made my order on bigfoodie.com ordered sweet & sour king prawn,lemon chicken,pork chowmein chicken fooyoung & double egg fried rice .my favourite place for chinese take-away always delivered hot , food always tasty & lots of it.lemon chicken was 2 breast of chicken in a lovely lemon sauce .ive had this from other places & only get 1 breast with loads of pineapple . portions from here are big 2 could share 1 dish & they do delivery as well which is great.staff always polite best take-away in town. recomend this personally to you all.

The best chinese take away in taunton , have mine ordered via bigfoodie on line as you have a lot of ways to pay even paypal .always hot & very tasty. delivery always on time always a friendly smile.normally have sweet & sour king prawn with egg fried rice. bbq spare ribs .the wife has lemon chicken the best ive ever tasted. the best part is you get 2 layers of chicken breast in a real lemon sauce not a big pile of veg under it making it look good & 1 breast .. no you get as i said 2 yes 2 succulent chicken breasts all sliced enough for 2 people & a few pineapple chunks & a thick lovely lemon sauce .. great food great value.

I have to say I do like the food in this place. It is one of the better ones in the vicinity. However I had a slight run in with a very wude hangry owner, I ordered and was told 15 mins, an hour later I was still waiting for my noodley goodness, I dared to ask why it was taking so long and got shouted at by the owner so I said I wished to have a refund, he promptly told me I was not to return and threw my money at me, this very much ruined my evening as I quite fancied my noodles. I just have to order under my alias and dress as a women now, which never gets questioned

Been coming here to get Chinese takeaway for the past 10 years, and have literally never been disappointed. Great food, always still hot when delivered, never takes more than 45 mins. Every other Chinese we've tried in Taunton and elsewhere doesn't even come close. The owner might be abit blunt, but if you're eating it at home and only talking to him to tell him what food you want what's the problem?
