Fantastic real ale pub, old fashioned just the way I like it. Beer is kept really well. Friendly staff and crowd. Wish it was in walking distance! Pies too!! Recommend the Dark mild, fantastic pint.

Traditional pub, we are tourists and liked it. I had the beans in tomato sauce and that was tasty, but my friend found the mushy peas interesting, but YES the grass is always greener on the other side. Authentic atmosphere and good service.

It's in the top 5 of Bradfords proper town centre drinking pubs. A real real-ale haven and I ranked the food 5 stars because IT WAS FREE tonight (it was the stew that accompanied the pies, which had all gone). You can't go wrong here, especially when it's busy and there's a good atmosphere.

Nice little pub, popped in for a pint of traditional cider and it was lovely. A friendly bar man advised me well on what to drink. The pub is real old school and has a great traditional feel

A fantastic real ale pub in Bradford city centre. The beers are always spot on with a great selection, good value and excellent homemade pie and mushy peas so delicious. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend as one of the best pubs in Bradford.

Place was nice great choice of beers. Clean and staff were friendly. We didn't have food. We were early in there so it was quite. But definitely would visit again when back in Bradford

One of my favourite pubs. Haven't been for a good while as the next door car park was being used as a vaccination centre. Called in today to find the expected lovely beer including dark ales, and as a bonus some live Irish Folk music. What's not to like? Well actually.. ... .a very loud and excitable barmaid who kept coughing whilst she was pulling a pint. Most off putting, hence the dropped star. Otherwise pretty much a perfect pub

Good beer. good music. Building is a bit dishevelled and toilets are not the best but that's not too bad.

Terrific beer, coal fire, old school pub vibe, excellent music and by golly the best pies (made on site) that I've ever had. It doesn't get much better than this.

Great place. Spent all afternoon there with friends drinking great real ales and eating great home made pork pies. A very enjoyable time was had by the whole group. BTW. It is now known as Jacobs.

Fantastic choice of guest and local ales. If your not sure what to try ask the lad behind the bar, he knows his stuff. Definitely a must place to visit, food smells fantastic and the corned beef pie and peas is absolutely delicious

Interesting traditional ale pub in Bradford. Friendly staff who are more than happy to advise you on the beers Inc samples for u to decide on your drink. Oh and don't forget the gorgeous homemade pork pies ( there is a veggie option)

Exactly what we needed before thr Beatles Get Back showing at the IMAX- which is literally 2 minutes round the corner. Lovely and rare atmosphere, great selection of beers and we even had some folk musicians on hand to add to the atmosphere. True gem.

Very friendly old fashioned Public house. Prices of real ale & ciders are reasonably priced. The same can be said for their bar snacks & food (,usually good quality pies.) Its location is good, quite near the Bradford town centre and the bus & train interchange too.

We sat outside on well spaced tables, the sun was out and there was table service. It was a good return to the pub experience after so long in lockdown.

What can i possibly say that hasn't already been said.. quite possibly THE friendliest landlord and the most comfortable environment i have EVER been in when attending a pub, There is a great selection of cask ales and ciders, along with the usual selection of bottled stuff if needs be, theres also a cracking shelf full of top end whiskeys so be sure to take a look at that and dont be afraid to ask!

A good range of excellently kept ales, with numerous tables, plus blankets for those who wish to sit on the grass.

This is the one of three good pubs in Bradford. I will break my 5 stars into 5 categories. 1 star is awarded for having conversation, that's staff and customers. Such a wide variety of types in there and all open to having a chat and a laugh. 1 star is awarded for the beers they have. Often changing but always keeping the favourites, I believe they have a very popular beer only served here but I like getting dark changing beers. 1 star is awarded for Chris' pies! They are incredible. I am a meat lover but the creamy garlic mushroom is how the younger generation might say, "off the hook!" 1 star is awarded for the general ambience of the pub. It has a fire place and a beautiful setting. We recently played a no gain game of poker all night in there and the drink was great, the pies were great and everyone was chatting across the place. The last and final star is awarded for all of the previously mentioned being above average. There is just so much to like about this place and I only even went in there for a quick pint whilst I wait for a bus. If ever they needed help in anything I would gladly be of service. Very friendly, very respectful and all round worth walking 5 miles for.
