The Abbey Lodge Hotel in Bradford

From the moment we arrived at this charming, family-run hotel, we knew we were in for a treat. "Lovely" doesn't even begin to cover it – it felt more like stepping into a home away from home. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and a suggestion. Our spacious room was a welcome sight, with a bed so comfortable I almost considered packing it in my suitcase! All the essentials were there, from a kettle for that much-needed cuppa to fluffy towels and ample wardrobe space. Freeview TV and Wi-Fi were the cherries on top. Breakfast was a real highlight. Forget those lukewarm buffets – here, you can start with a selection of cereals and a fancy coffee from the machine, before the friendly staff take your order for a freshly cooked breakfast. And what a menu! It was a feast for the eyes, with so many delicious options, even catering brilliantly for vegetarians and vegans. I was spoilt for choice! The location is perfect too. Check-out was a breeze at 11am, and the hotel even let me leave my car while I explored Shipley town centre, just a short five-minute stroll down the hill. Honestly, this hotel is a gem. I can't recommend it highly enough – it's the perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay

This place is clearly cared for and is well maintained. Very hard to fault. Would have been 5* but our room was just a little short making it tricky to open the bathroom door. Excellent breakfast with friendly staff. Parking is doubled so you could get blocked in. Great location for a stroll into Saltaire

Dated rooms with uncomfortable beds. Went down for breakfast only to be ignored by staff, who are more interested in having a conversation in the kitchen. Showers are cold too.

Absolutely brilliant hotel .. lovely rooms ...bed comfy and shower unbelievable. staff and owners cant do enough for you . Parking may be an issue at times, but we had no issue and ample parking close by

Staff super friendly and welcoming. Parking at hotel is limited. But you can park at front too and plenty spaces. Rooms really clean. Breakfast is exactly what you expect. Good job ladies and gents. Local to centre and not far from airport. This is my second visit and I will stay again.

Great value for money, room was smallish but lovely in general, excellent shower! Good location for pubs and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was also brilliant. Staff were really nice too! Car parking is a bit tight and if your car is lowered etc you might struggle not to scrape it but luckily I wasn't the mug that drove this week 😋 Will 100 percent stay again.

Stayed 1 nite Friday 8 March 2024 . Single room 303 facing the front of hotel - room very clean / en-suite shower was great . Tea coffee biscuits just what you need after a busy day . I was away on business . Breakfast was excellent . Reception is manned 24/7 . There is a lovely Indian restruant / take away also a five minute walk from hotel . Parking to the rear which is safe .I will be back to Shipley soon and will book again .

Stayed here a few times over the years , There's a carpark around the back which is ok for a car and you have to double park so you could be blocked in but there is also street parking (1hr)out the front after 6pm until 8am Warning friendly greeting from the receptionist all info given My room up stairs was a good size as was the shower room WiFi excellent Bed super comfortable Shower was hot and powerful Breakfast included Location close to the town centre lots of restaurants close by Would definitely stay again and recommend 👌

Advantages Lovely place, comfy beds, quiet & easy location for local towns. Local produce served...lovely sausage, mushrooms, toast & omelette Disadvantages Dusty lights, rubbish down back of bedside tables, staff breathing vape smoke in reception area having just put vape in pocket, bacon not cooked properly (asked for very well done), hard poached eggs.
