Came on Sunday afternoon for some lunch. Place looked good, football was on for the boys, pool tables for entertainment and a good selection of food and drinks on the menu. The guy working behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. The other staff not so much. Most cocktails on the menu were off, only a choice of two or three. Food had to go back as it was cold. Was put in the microwave and brought back. I just found it unreasonable value for money for something that wasn’t enjoyable. £70 for microwaved food that returns dried up and means your all eating separately isn’t what I expected.

It was lovely to walk into somewhere that serves a breakfast after 11am. And what a breakfast, double everything at a very reasonable price. Piping hot and real crusty bread, only down side would be that there is never enough butter but I expect that if I had asked then they would have supplied another packet. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were value for money considering the amount of food on the plate. Will definately be going there again.

This is as I was informed a chain pub, the food was of takeaway standard, ok but not inspiring.. The service was a little slow but it seemed some staff were short on the day. I cannot say if this was normal as was only in the area for a short period.

Called in the morning and went for the bacon sarnie and coffee deal at £2:45. Good coffee and sandwich at a good price. Desperately in need of new carpets and a general "spruce up" but nice to see somewhere to keep the nearby Wetherspoon on it's toes for value!!

Unfortunately Jacob's Post is looking a bit tired and in need of a bit of a refurb. Food and beer are cheap (apart from Fri and Sat nights). Been in lots of times. Service usually quite quick and there is a good selection of cheap pub meals on offer.

I'd visited this pub about two months ago and had found it a dismal experience - awful food in unappetising surroundings. However, having a few minutes ago had a bad experience in Wetherspoon's, just a few yards away, my partner and I decided to see how the advent of the latter had affected the Jacob's Post. Well, it was just as dingy, but the welcome from the young male and female bar staff brightened it immediately. We ordered food - my partner selected whole-tail scampi with chips and I took a chance on 'Curry Lovers Pie' which came with a jug of curry sauce, chips and peas. The deal was attractive - two meals for £7.95 and the drinks were very good and competitively priced. The challenge of the nearby Wetherspoon's has obviously had an effect as the food arrived, piping hot, very quickly, placed on a table that had been assiduously cleaned by the barman. My pie was very good and my partner declared that her scampi had been perfectly cooked. The girl who served us was attractive, bright and cheerful. OK, the decor and furniture could do with a fair amount of TLC, but all in all the experience was a very good one this time round.

Truly the most unappetising food I have confronted in years. Cod in batter that looked like a piece of deep fried brown carpet. The excellent front of house staff handled this very well though; they just looked at this sorry excuse for a meal and immediately gave me a cash refund. The bar staff were both blameless and embarrassed. The kitchen staff though; are they trying to drive their employers out of business. Finally, re drinks; a small bottle of Peroni for £3.95 tells you all you need to know.

Sadly the place seems to attract trouble-makers - even with bouncers on the doors, there's often trouble in the area.

Bought a cold drink and slice of cake service was awful, cake was stale, most of the tables were roped off and the ones left were taken. Not impressed, won't be returning

I’m new to the area and gave this costa a go —so glad I did! The queue was quite long when I joined, but Farha, who was the only one working, was super speedy and kept everything moving smoothly. Honestly, she’s a star. Super friendly and made the whole experience. She even talked me into getting some cake (despite my diet!), and I’ve gotta say, she was right—the cake was amazing! Sure, the prices are a bit on the high side (£4.40 for a coffee), but with such great service, I can’t complain. Thanks, Farha! I’ll definitely be back.

I'd never visited before. I despise Tim whatever his name is for backing the UK ruining Brexit, and I assumed everyone in any Wetherspoons would be of his viewpoint so I've stayed away. However, I realise that was stupid, and actually I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was very fast. Drinks are ridiculously cheap. Two pints and a coke for the same price as a pint almost in Brighton. People who were eating looked happy enough with their food, again, cheap. And the best thing of all was that it was full of people enjoying themselves, where as most pubs are empty. I'll be going back. Easy to reserve a table, spaciously laid out, bar staff were stressed but polite, toilets were clean, place was clean. Nothing to complain about really.

Getting Off the train at Brighton railway station you will see this excellent cafe/Restaurant. We came here last year and it was just as friendly & welcoming as before..Plenty of seats and tables with a friendly staff. Our Lattes were tasty & delightful.. Well worth a visit.
