Coffee not nice and so expensive it's unbelievable . Very cold and won't be returning. Cakes also very dry and all staff seem to be bored and miserable

Called in for lunch with my husband. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We both had a decaf coffee (Illy) and a toasted sandwich. Everything was delicious. The decaf coffee was the best I’ve had ! It was made with freshly ground beans which makes all the difference. I have been to some coffee shops that use coffee bags and it’s just not the same. It was easy to relax and have a chat as the acoustics were perfect for this. I’ve been in some places that are so busy and echoing and it’s hard to relax and chat without raising your voice but Jackson’s is a hidden gem in this regard . I would highly recommend this coffee house.

The amount of changes I’ve noticed every time I’ve visited this place for business. They have changed brands and changed back and changed again. If it wasn’t for meeting a business associate here I would never have known it existed. Very poor advertisement! The lovely woman who works there is always a delight when visiting but other than her nothing is enjoyable here. The atmosphere is dull, it’s very quiet and the only custom seems to be coming from the xcel staff themselves? The prices are ridiculous for being such a small establishment... I expect these prices at Starbucks or a fancy boutique coffee shop but not here.

Does not look like a coffee house from the outside, and barely from the inside. The coffee is hot, fast, and there are a few food items if you need a bite. Service is pleasant, and ample, easy parking.

Always loved the coffee here, they have changed brands ,and unfortunately,I really don't think much of the coffee now , the staff are still lovely, but have stopped going, If I'm paying in excess of £2 for a coffee,I want to enjoy it, such a shame

I often visit Jackson's coffee house at lunch time. They do the most delicious homemade soup and they do a soup and sandwich deal which is well worth it! They're Grumpy Mule coffee is lovely. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit when in the area.

I like the coffee, the staff and the seating options, sofas or tables. A super spot to meet up with friends or on business. Out if town but does tend to mean it's never busy.

This pub is ok when they actually have food on they advertise a carvery till 8 we turned up at 5.30 it was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted to go out for a special dinner we were going to have all three courses and a few drinks only to be told they didn’t have any carvery left really bad management to run out of food two and a half hours before closing we ended off coming home and our special meal was beans on toast it’s a ok pub for a quick meal but don’t go there for any special occasion they will just let you down

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

Discussed pint Guinness gone upto £5.90 a pint, said to staff, cost gone down and owner has put up Guinnes to a very high price, even the staff agreed really hike up price, they too thought it was pure greed. Will not use this pub again.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.
