Costa Coffee in County Durham

I was here a on Friday gone, getting together with a friend for a coffee and chat. Throughout our conversation we were disturbed by a loud noise coming from the counter area, a loud grinding noise, that echoed all over. It was similar to being in a loud pub and I could just about hear my friend speak. It was annoying and shouldn't be done where customers are. We won't be coming back here again.

A lovely place to enjoy coffee. Served with a smile by Jordan and Sophie, who made an excellent cappuchino…we will be back

The last time I went to Costa in Newton Aycliffe it was 90mins limit to park. I met up with a friend to celebrate me surviving cancer. I never checked the signs as I honestly would never expect them to reduce it to 60 mins. It was busy the day we went so it took a while to get our drinks. I won't be going ever again as I think it's disgusting the car park limit is 60 mins. We were there 1hr 18 mins. I've already lost thousands in loss of earnings due to Cancer. Costa will have lost a lot of business for this reason. It's put me off going to any of them in future.

WHAT A RIP OFF. I visited about a week ago whilst my wife was getting her nails done. had a sausage sandwich and a couple of coffee's. THEN RECEIVED £100 PARKING FINE FOR USING THEIR CAR PARK A FEW MINUTES TOO LONG!!!! I never even saw a parking notice for payments, or I obviously would not have waited there. TRIED PHONING BUT COSTA EXTORTION NO LONGER ALLOWS CONTACT BY PHONE, I TRIED THEIR WEBSITE CONTACT FORM BUT WON'T ALLOW YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN DESCRIPTION, ONLY A CHOICE FROM DROPDOWN MENUE, WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE MY QUEERY, YOU ONLY GET SENT TO A FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PAGE. NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT PAY THEIR TAXES IN THIS COUNTRY, THEY EXTORT OUTRAGOUS SUMS OF MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS FOR USING THEIR CAR PARKS.

Sausage bun was dry, no sauce offered. Three staff working, One in particular wasnt very pleasant had an attitude banging trays and rolling her eyes. Other staff were lovely. It's not cheap and I won't be back anytime soon.

I don’t normally leave reviews but after a difficult night the staff really made my morning. I am always greeted with a warm smile from whoever is behind the counter but this morning the gentleman who served me went above and beyond. While he was doing all his duties behind the counter, he still found the time to interact with my little boy. Making him laugh as he made the coffees and playing peekaboo as he stocked up. It was a really heartwarming experience and I’m grateful for his kindness. All the staff are very lovely, the place is always clean, busy rushes are handled with ease and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Receieved a parking fine for being in the shop for 90 minutes as they have now reduced the car park to 60 minutes. Avoid this shop at all costs. That is not even time to have hot food and a drink at busy times!

Friendly staff, clean and tidy, had a breakfast, only negative is that they do not do the meal deals, we will be going back to Costa at Bishop Auckland every Saturday

I would only come here if i really needed too the rubbish around the tables is atrocious we had to move the stuff on our table cause the staff wouldn’t move them even tho the costa wasnt busy with customers at all crumbs on the chairs and sofas dirty floors doesn’t deserve a 5 star hygiene rating took 15 minutes to be surved wouldnt recommend coming here food is over priced.

I like Costa for a coffee but so wish they wld allow dogs. There was an elderly gentleman sat at outside table drinking coffee with his small terrier. (It was cold) Such a shame he cannot be allowed in. It is becoming so more acceptable these days, come on Costa.

Just been here for a quick lunch. The staffs members were all ever so friendly and welcoming. They did not stop, from serving and thoroughly cleaning the whole cafe. It was lovely to see 3 young members keeping their working area spotlessly clean. Well done guys.

Nothing special, parking a bit tight, food ok, limited choice. Surly staff, not in a rush to go back.

Local costa coffee shop. Not too busy, could get a table. Tables had been cleared away so wasn't untidy. Staff friendly.

Pricey but then I'm not used to going to Costa too much! Staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered....must have been tired, it was after 5. One in particular engaged with me in a rather rude manner. No hint of any smiles. Won't rush back .

Went to enjoy a coffee outside last week and the bins were packed and overflowing, which did mean that there were birds flying about all over!

Went to Costa coffee today always lovely friendly staff, nice airy and bright environment to sit and enjoy a coffee with friends.

My friends and I visit the cafe every week and I also visit with my daughter occasionally. The cafe is clean and well ran. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They always greet you with a smile and say goodbye as you leave, and regularly offer to carry your tray if you’re struggling. The food and drink is your usual Costa fare, tasty enough, maybe some healthy options could be included but well done for all the vegan and vegetarian options. On todays visit there was a new member of staff on the till and she was very well supported by the other members of the team. The only negative I can say is they could do with some blinds at the windows as when the sun is shining there are some seats that are impossible to sit in as you are unable to see for the glare.

It was OK, nothing amazing, got coffee and sandwich. Toilet was clean. Free parking at the side. Just your normal costa. Not a huge selection of food.

What a shame that a coffee shop allows Civil Enforcement to operate an under 90 min visit to Costa without a £60-£100 fine! I was inside for just over an hour and a half and shortly after received my fine letter. Staff should warn customers when they visit.

Really good service, Clean coffee house, plenty of covid screens etc so felt secure when ordering. Very friendly staff, was served by a lady called Susie who welcomed us with a great smile, nothing seemed a chew when I was asking questions about what certain drinks contained etc . Called in here with a friend, I was served by a young man whose customer service skills were none existent, I believe his name was Jordan, The store was not busy at all, but he really couldn’t have been more obstructive. We won’t back,

Opening at 8AM in the morning when it was previously 7AM. I find that poor given that some people can't wait around untill 8AM due to work commitments.

pretty casual coffee shop with a normal range of drinks, nothing to hate or love. quite small but cosy thanks to the warm atmosphere

costa car park has a time limit of 90 mins if you go over this YOU WILL BE FINED!!Strangest coffee shop i,ve ever visited where you are restricted to 90 mins otherwise you exceed your car park limit , appeals dont work even if you can prove you were inside the whole time , disgraceful!!

As this is a franchise they don't have the offers provided by other stores. The store is clean and airy. It offers the same range as other stores

Have visited several times now. The staff are helpful and friendly. They welcome us warmly and deliver drinks and food as expected. The service has definitely improved since opening.

Decided to try the latest addition to Aycliffe’s coffee emporiums on a Friday afternoon. Initially impressed with the decor and comfortable seating, however, when we arrived there was a table with dirty cups etc which was still uncleared 20 minutes later. A barista had delivered our order to the table, but ignored the dirty table. A couple had come in and moved the dirty tray from their table, their order was delivered to them but the dirty dishes were not collected. A barista did clear one table, but left the others despite their being 3 staff behind the counter and it not being very busy. It’s disappointing that the staff are allowing tables to remain uncleared when the venue has just opened. There was also a large stack of cardboard by the table with condiments etc on. Surely these could have been stored away from the customer area.
