Popped in for just 2 beers with my mate.. first time there. Ordered 2 pints of tennents lager.. This has got to be the best pint of lager ive tasted.. we had to leave after our second.. later on we returned and had another 3 . To hell with going home early. very reasonable priced for a city centre bar.. also great friendly service from the staff. this will now be our drinking place when in town..

Was recommended this place by a few of my old uni friends, this was one of their go to spots in Glasgow. Apparently there's a karaoke night here, might take my mum if she's ever up. We arrived at 7pm and the atmosphere was lively, full of students and some older gents too. Ordered a few decently priced Tennants and tasted like the pipes were clean (a nice surprise after the previous night I had an awful pint at another bar). Central location so easy to bar hop from. Nice clean toilets, fish tank was a little murky though, hope the fishes are alright in there...

We visited this bar, which was opposite the hotel we were staying in, early on a Friday evening for a pre-dinner drink. It has a clean and pleasant interior, and the drinks were reasonably priced. It was very popular with locals and had an extremely lively atmosphere.

Walked in Sat 21st Jan around 9 got a table for 4 then went to bar. 2 people serving. 8 ladies on a hen night getting cocktails, servers doing 4 each. No problem waiting. Chilled environment. Guy walks up to the bar beside me. Girl serving finishes her cocktails, pours him a pint. I asked if she was serving him. She said yes, oh sorry, I'll get you next. No, you won't. Wouldn't waste a penny in this pub. Will never go back in. If you're not 18 and a friend of the staff don't bother. Pub trade is dying and people like her contribute to it.

I was Very happy with my visit to Jackson's. My only criticism would have been that portions were too big but a bonus for many haha. My other half thinks he's a bit of a burger aficionado and we have paid some silly prices for him just to say 'nah, I wouldn't get that again' but he actually enjoyed this one and was happy it wasn't stacked ridiculously high. The main reason for the review though is that the staff were very pleasant and deserved a tip. We as bad customers though, did not leave one. We had no cash on us and partner didn't ask them to add one to bill. Place was quiet early Sunday evening with sports on TV (another bonus for partner) and a Juke box in back ground.

Stayed at the Travelodge and looked at what bars were local for a late night tipple. I thought this might do but looked a little rough on Google. Just not really for me - bit of a tired looking old man’s bar in the early afternoon. We only came in for a drink but staff appeared polite when customer facing and not so demure when shouting at each other over the Christmas decorations, haha! Sorry, but for me, it just didn’t hit the mark.

Dropped by here on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch and pint. We waited for about 10 minutes to be served even though there wasn't anything you could call a queue. It's the slowest service I've seen in Glasgow. We eventually got their special Jackson's Lager. This really is just rebranded Tennant's - it tastes exactly the same. For £3 / pint it's not bad. We also got 2 pizzas for a tenner and they were served about 20 min later. They're a bit on the small side but decent for a fiver each. However they tasted great and certainly much better than what you get in some of the nearby fancy restaurants. Overall a decent experience and I can recommend Jackson's for a no-frills pint and pizza.

I picked Jackson's simply for the location. I had been in for drinks before but never food. I was meeting my mum to go to the Theatre Royal and as a lady with not a wide taste in food, I figured a good old bar meal would suit her and I have to say I'm glad I chose here. The staff were pleasant and the food good. Price were reasonable and both the fish and chips and the chicken burger were lovely both arriving with a mountain of chips! The bar was busy (it was a Friday) but we managed to get a booth, he place had a good atmosphere. Earlier this year (2016), I found this gem for Sunday dinner. Back then it was £5 for the beef roast which was exceptional value. You got a silver bowl with freshly cooked vegetables : carrots, roast potatoes and peas. This accompanied two generous slices of delicious roast beef, gravy and a decent sized Yorkshire pudding. Today, was my first visit here in about a month. The price has gone up to £6. Still great value but the portion size of beef has reduced dramatically. Comparable to one slice of beef from the previous occasions cut in two. No longer served with a silver bowl of vegetables. It all comes together on one plate. And now with tasty cheese cauliflower instead of peas. Somewhat disappointed with these changes but still a good find in Glasgow city.

Always wanted to try the food here after visiting occassionally for a quick drink. The pub is nice and airy and the atmosphere is laid back. We came in on Saturday from the busy continental market on Sauchihall St and ordered from the interesting menu. My southern fried chicken burger was bland an d dry. Looking at the edges i think it may have been cooked previously and then reheated as it was served surprisingly quickly, the fries were ok but i prefer to put my own seasoning on. When i went to lift the burger some sauce leaked out but as meal was served on a plastic basket the sauce went all over the place. My partners chilli burger looked good initially but he said that the burger just broke up and that the chilli was just ok, i interpreted this as not much flavour (as he likes a bit of heat in chilli).

Really love this place and I've been here regularly for over a year now. It's all gone downhill since they started having bouncers at the doors who will deny you getting in because you have a bottle of water or because they simply don't like you. If you get on the wrong side of one bouncer in particular he most likely will have a personal vendetta against you every time you show your face. Lose the bounces or lose the customers, it's not a club.

Jackson's Bar has relied heavily in the past years on the patronage of students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland which is just one street over. As of lately, I have become absolutely appalled at the staff and the overall experience in this bar. We will start with the food. The food is always carefully arranged on plates to make it appear fancy however the taste would suggest that every item on the menu comes straight out of a freezer bag. The burgers are dry, the haggis was so full of gristle that it was hardly edible, the chips are mealy and soggy, and I once found several cigarette filters on my plate that had been dropped there by some member of the kitchen staff. For this incident, I was refunded but why did it happen in the first place? The staff are the worst part of this bar. They are consistently rude, disinterested, and the bouncers use methods of intimidation. One bouncer in particular intimidated a fellow student so much that a complaint was written to the management. Not only was the complaint ignored entirely, but the management passed the persona details of the person who submitted the complaint to the bouncer in question so he was able to look him up in FB and threaten him the next time he came to give the bar business.Beware of the ludicrous £10 limit to use your card for purchases in here and you cannot ask for cash back without an additional £5 charge.I am absolutely disgusted with Jackson's and will never be back and I will actively encourage others to never give this place business ever again.

At 4.55pm she came back and again stipulated the reservation in a unfriendly manner, as my mum had just went to the toilet we waited for her. My mum had just came back and was finishing her drink when again we where approached by this member of staff and pointedly told to move.

Two minutes from Sauchiehall Street and next to the subway at Cowcaddens, this place has an excellent selection of beers in bottles and on draught. The food is hearty and inexpensive. There's a good welcome from the staff and room to spread out. The bar serves as a good base for a trip to town or a night out with friends. Big screens show sports but do not overwhelm the bar.

Was here Friday evening before a gig, again after the gig and the morning after for breakfast. Great choice of beers, nice atmosphere, motorsports showing on one TV. Was happy to see Williamson beers in bottle. Food was nice and well priced. Would recommend without hesitation

I went to Jacksons for a quiet drink on a Saturday evening and was shocked at how the bouncers treated myself and my friend. We went to go inside using the first door we came to as our friends were inside and the bouncers were condescending when they asked us to use the other one as they wanted to chat to each other instead of manning both doors. Then we had our bags searched and were turned away because we refused to get rid of a full bottle of WATER. We were shouted at in the street and treated very badly because we dared to ask why we weren't allowed to keep our water bottles in our bags.Jacksons needs to realise that they are losing custom by having such rude bouncers on the door.

What a fabulous place. Only popped in for a quick drink but loved it that much we ended up having a burger there.I'm not going to lie, the haggis burger my friend had made my tummy flip in a bad way but the cheese burger I had was amazing! Great staff. Looked after us very well.

friendly bar, good prices, nice bar staff. Shame the security's "bite the curb while I stamp on your head" approach is letting them down. Enforcing a dress code in a local pub while the bouncers are dressed like skin heads is a bit of a joke, although I believe they have sacrificed any sense of humour in favour of steroids. If you make it past the cavity search and interrigation do not try and go back outside for a ciggarette, I was so scared to leave I waited for schindler to help me get out.

Jackson's was my first stop in Glasgow and I think it was what made start to love it. The staff were so kind and chatty, the food was great, and the location was ideal for me. Loved it so much was there for breakfast the next day!

Hamburger maison avec frite qui elles ne le sont pas! Plutôt pas mal pour le hamburger! Le cadre est juste top, la patronne un peu froide et l'addition pour 20£ a deux en plus des consos!

Mywife have been in here before and had a drink, but this time we were between meals and just wanted something to plug a hole in our stomachs. Had a beer then ordered 2 Carrot & Lentil soups, with nice bread. The had the old witches cauldron going for the soup. Delicious. Not too far from where I was staying in Cowcaddens. I love my home City altho' I left in in 1958

This a nice, chilled wee pub away from the hustle & bustle of the city center. A suave selection of beers at a price that doesn't kick you in the pocket. Never tried the food, but I will soon. They're also open for breakfast at 8am! It splits in two, one half of the pub has screens for watching football and the other half is football free (the side I'd drink on). The staff are all very pleasant too.Go here, it's great!

Jackson's Bar is a really down to earth, Scottish Pub. A wide range of Brewed Nirvana has something for every taste. The bar tenders will give you a sample of some of the more obscure items with a smile and very good advice. If you are in the downtown area, you really need to get into this place for a pint of any of the excellent brews and an enjoyable peak at the Glasgow pub scene.

Travelling back from Kinning Park with my eldest son, I decided to stop off here for a bite to eat as I needed to pick up a few things anyway. Overall, it was some good scran. Aside from the food, I also thought it was brilliantly priced (Kids eating for just £1), the staff were decent and the cleanliness of the seating area was on point. In comparison to the Morrison’s café in Anniesland, which has plummeted in quality over the last four months, it really was night and day in comparison. I opted for the Sweet Chilli Chicken Panini (lovely) and a Cappuccino (unfortunately the machine only poured 2/3 of a mug). The wee man had Pancakes, Crisps and a Fruit Shoot (unfinished but he seemed happy enough with it). I was impressed with the choice on offer - it certainly exceeded what I’d expect from a Supermarket café. Being a fan of Rangers, I’ll most likely be in the area again very soon and would happily head back to Asda.

I am attending at course at the Clyde College and this wee cafe happens to be nearby - it's very convenient for lunch when I have classes the whole day. I had lunch in a couple of occasions so far, I tried their soup and jacket potato. The prices are affordable, the food is good and the staff are super friendly.

I visited The Lauder in Sauchihsll Street in October 2919 when it reopened after the fire that destroyed the buildings next to it we were served beautifully cooked and very tasty food. I have visited Glasgow twice since then last week ( end of February 20w9) being the most recent and it is now my choice of place to eat. The staff are great easpecially one young lady called Lynn who has been the ultimate in custoner service. Even remembering me from previous visits and ensuring that I get a table and great service. I will be back as not only is the foid well cooked and presebted it is great value for money .
