Great ice cream place with several vegan ice creams with vegan cones. One scoop is £2.90 which is very good value. Don't be put off with the long queues as they have multiple servers so you don't have to wait very long.

Quite expensive though and I find some flavors lack depth and flavor, here are the flavors I’ve had: Vanilla mascarpone- did not taste of mascarpone, I’ve had some mascarpone gelato in Italy and it doesn’t compare Miso oreo- nice but no taste of miso Hazelnut cookie dough- delicious no comments Chocolate raspberry ripple- very good, a crunch would be a nice addition Sticky toffee pudding- delicious NC Violet- barely tasted of violet, rather tasted of milk, would not have again Yuzu- best I’ve had yet ! It was delicious and would highly recommend ! Mango sorbet- another delicious one

Best gelato shop in Cambridge. They had gluten free cones which was great and the vanilla gelato was one of if not the best I’ve ever had. The staff are also very friendly. Was very quick as well.

Been going to Jack's Gelato for a couple of years and had different flavours every time. All delicious, could not decide which one to have yesterday and was given 2 tasters,both great but I chose the Panelo which was lovely

Pretty brilliant and I can see why my friend hyped the place up. Fabulous array of unique flavours, a great vibe and always bustling with people ready to try the next wacky combination they conjure up. Great pricing for the quality and artisanal nature of the gelato and very quick to serve.

I tried the ube brownie gelato, it wasn’t a flavor I was familiar with, but decided on it after being recommended it and given to try by the store employee. He was very friendly, and even took my order in my native language, Spanish. The gelato itself was delicious and a single scoop is very well served. Would highly recommend visiting.

I suppose it’s high time I review the object of my heart’s desire; the reason for my revision evasion; the hole in my bank account and my ultimate first date move. I wouldn’t call it an addiction so much as a religion. Library? No- Jacks. Post-formal pub crawl? No - Jacks. Sex? No - Jacks. This silly little ice cream shop has been a lighthouse in the storm of academic stress and existential crises. It’s saved friendships, my sanity, everything but money basically. But it’s taught me one thing: money really can buy happiness as long as money can buy Jacks.

Best ice cream in town. We have been going here for the last two years. Never disappointed. Amazing flavours. Just a shame as there is no seating area. This would be brilliant especially for the winter season.

Wide selection of refined gelato flavors that is updated daily. Friendly staff always offering you to taste one extra flavor for free. Special mention goes to the smallest cup option, where you can request two tiny scoops, unlike most gelato places that only offer a single standard-size scoop. This way you get to enjoy more flavours without having to order a huge cup or cone.

I've always enjoyed Jack's but recently it's gone downhill, which is very disappointing. The quality of gelato seems to have declined and the customer service has been worse recently, it feels quite rushed and impersonal. It’s really lost touch with its roots and seems to have sold out to the mainstream. Used to be a local gem but now is overrated and not worth the wait. Aromi around the corner consistently delivers at least.

Great selection of interesting flavors, updated often. I particularly love the Asian ingredients, like ube, sesame, or matcha.

Is this Italian ice cream a must-eat in Cambridge? There is always a queue and there are so many people It is said that the ice cream flavors can be changed at any time, so the flavors you can taste may be different every day, but I am still looking forward to it. It’s definitely not worth it to come to Cambridge alone to eat. But if you come to Cambridge, you can give it a try. It’s worth the queue.

servants are racist. No one serves me until a white couple came in, and they cut in the line in front of me. Edit after arrogant owner’s response. I wasn’t playing with my phone. I’m holding a toddler waving my hand and smile. They are not my servants, but they do serving customers. Your response is rude with full of wrong assumptions. If you take a moment to look back the footage for your camera. You can see what happened. But you are not. Proved that you are racist and arrogant.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but 2 stars and I'm being very generous. The ice cream (please, don't insult Italians saying "gelato") was bland and icy. Good gelato tastes exactly like the simple ingredient its made of and creamy, not this. This was more like cheap Tesco ice cream than anything resembling Italian gelato. Almost 5 quid for 2 scoops that I had a hard time finishing. Had I known, I wouldn't have had it even if they paid me the 5 quid. I feel scammed, to be honest. EDIT: The friendly owner replied saying my reviews are habitually low which is clearly untrue. Good reviews where good are due. At least with McFlurry, I know what I'm getting and saving a few quid. Happy to try the establishment next door next time to broaden my horizons as I can't clearly distinguish between overpriced ice cream and actual gelato. Happy weekend in Tuscany.

I ate it as a package and had it with chocolate cone + lemon sorbet + crawberry. I visited a famous gelato shop in Cambridge, but the taste was bland than I expected. It wasn't bad, but it was a bit pricey for ice cream, so I expected high quality, but it didn't seem to live up to that standard. Compared to waiting in line, turnover and service were very good. The inside of the store was also clean.

This is the kind of place that warrants high expectations with its out-the-door lines and pretentious flavors like mezcal raspberry ripple. They deliver. The flavor combos are tantalizing and softness of the gelato is remarkable. I went twice in a day.

Delicious gelato and I’m not even a big ice gelato or ice cream person. Their flavors change daily and they are generous with their samples, though I only tried two. Next time I’d try 4 (they give you 2 on either end of a wooden spoon). Note that the flavors are different at the 2 locations in Cambridge! I got the sticky toffee pudding mini scoop (half scoop) for £1.80. It was like a sweet cream ice cream with bits of sticky toffee pudding. I LOVE that they do a mini scoop! It was the perfect amount for me. I might even do a mini scoop at each location in the same day because why not :)

Wow! Excellent ice cream with VERY unique flavours and combinations. Service was quick and easy, and despite the weekend evening rush, the line moves swiftly. Thus, you don't feel the wait. Was taken there by my sister while visiting here in London. It's worth the effort and time spent to get there. Given the flavours you would not be getting anywhere else!

Awesome gelato and super friendly young people running the shop. You can try samples of different flavours first and they really try and help find something you'll like (all flavours are great but I loved the yogurt flavour). Also a great price of £2.90 for a large scoop, which is great compared to London's tiny scoops selling at £5-6! 😁

Nothing wrong with the gelato but today the guy at the till seems really unfriendly. I asked if I can try two flavours and he only gave me one first, tried to charge me with the price of a full scoop while giving me a tiny scoop, and asked me to reuse the tasting stick for my ice cream. Any of these micro-aggressions may appear to be fine on its own but when it comes together my only assumption is that this shop is hiring staff that is an absolute racist and show no respect to their customers. I hope that actions can be taken and no more customer will suffer again from the same situation which ruined my mood for the entire day. And not to mention I have visited Jacks a thousand times before.

Tried there Ube, Dark Chocolate and Sea salt and friend tried Hazelnut scoops here. Ube was very light and not too sweet or overpowering. Dark Chocolate with salt was really salty as per my liking, glad had a Ube to pair it up with which helped to balance out the flavor. The Hazelnut was a winner. It was perfect. And we were lucky as there was no long queue for us, hardly 4 people ahead of us. but when we stepped out with our ice creams, there were already 10-12 people standing out side the shop.

I recommend the hazelnut taste of ice-cream.

Vi esta tienda de helados en insta y pensé que deberíamos comprobarlo mientras nos quedamos a la vuelta de la esquina y no nos decepcionó! Había una cola incluso a las 7 pm, pero valió la pena. Incluso los sabores veganos eran agradables! 80 por 2 cucharadas cada uno no me pareció tan mal. , Definitivamente conseguiría este helado de nuevo.

The queue to enter the store is a bit long, but the queue time is not long and the speed is very fast. The store clerk is very kind. If you are interested in a flavor that you are not sure about, you can ask the store clerk to let you try it. Don’t be afraid of embarrassment and just choose! If you see a strange flavor, you can take a bite and try it🥰 Most of the flavors will be sweet. If you can't eat sweets, be careful and choose pure chocolate or brownie flavors.

Such an impressive little place, even with a qué out the door it moves quickly and you get served, not only fast but with a smile, the staff are lovely and the ice cream is delicious, fantastic vegan options without them just tasting of coconut milk like alot of vegan ice creams. Really interesting flavours that you won't find everywhere and not just for a gimmick! The prices a very reasonable for what you get too!

When we visited on Friday afternoon, there were many people queuing up and it took about 10 to 20 minutes to wait. The entrance is relatively small. There are many flavors of ice cream, some of which you can’t seem to find in Taiwan. The queue was down the street, but it was worth it. We liked the gelato here a lot. There were vegan granitas, and also some vegan flavours. We especially liked the dark chocolate, the coconut and ube, and the strawberry. Also, the chocolate-dipped waffle cones were vegan, which was a nice treat.

The vanilla was rich and creamy, the strawberry had the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness, the chocolate was decadently smooth, and the honeycomb was an absolute delight with its unique crunch and sweetness. These were hands down the most amazing gelato flavors we’ve ever had. The staff is friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Cambridge, this is a must-visit spot for any dessert lover!

Yummy gelato! The gooseberry sorbet was a rare find, was yummy but I think it may not suit everyone’s taste palates. Coconut & Ube was divine! Hope you have it next time I’m back… Tempted to get other things too but had my luggage etc.

Jack gelato never misses!!! Some of the flavours are definitely better than others, but that is part of their never-ending experimenting. The menu is updated everyday, don't forget to ask what the secret flavour is! Some of my favourites: salted oreos, roasted banana, Alfonso mango

Sigh. This review has been years in the making. As I sit here after paying £4 for one scoop of almost acceptable ice cream in Edinburgh, I can’t help but reminisce about better ice cream… The worst part about Jack’s is that after eating it no other gelato/ice cream will ever bring you joy. I have since moved away from Cambridge to Scotland (where the frozen dessert situation is crying for help yet surprisingly expensive). Jack’s helped me and my children survive lockdown 2 (maybe it was 3, I don’t remember). But we went every day. One day it was 0 degrees (see picture). Never too cold for good gelato is what I’ve always told my children. They’ve always agreed. Jack’s Gelato sustained us in good times and in bad. It’s been a year since we left and we are still mourning the loss of a quick cycle to the world’s best gelato. Our personal favourites: Strawberries & Cream, Girton Apple, Honeycomb, any of the nut flavours (😍😍😍), Mango. There is no better ice cream anywhere.

I first tasted Jack’s Gelato at the Clare May Ball. It was the coconut and ube flavour that blew me away. Everyday the menu changes and I just love to see what crazy flavours they are offering that day. To givenyou an idea what crazy (interesting) means: Wagyu beef/gochjang and passion fruit/Kewpie mayo/manuka and white miso But they have many other delicious choices too so don’t be scared! Highly recommend anything with ube. They excel at fruit flavours too.

Jacks Gelato is a delicious gelato place. They have unique flavors that are probably the best you will ever taste. I highly suggest the honeycomb flavor since it tastes so much like sweet honey. The people serving the ice cream are also very nice and give out free samples. Make sure to visit here if you want your gelato!

Both flavors were quite vanilla - and I had thought I chose the most outlandish options. Perhaps they’re playing it safe…but rose nor whisky were particularly convincing or interesting. If I hadn’t detected the slightest bit of whisky and the hint of rose every few bites, I’d have thought they gave me vanilla (which is not on offer). Best to stick with more traditional, flavorful options… I guess. Sucks I paid extra for whisky only to taste very little. Expect small scoops - texture was immaculate. I was just hoping to actually taste the flavors I’d selected.

Quite average taste, mostly tasted like cold sugar

I got vegan dark chocolate and coconut/pandan ice cream. I don't even know what a pandan is but the coconut pandan was such a unique flavour. It tasted absolutely incredible. That flavour felt very refreshing on a hot summer day. I highly recommend this flavour to both vegans and non-vegans.

There is always a queue here, but they serve quickly, so it keeps moving. The flavors are unique, and their menu varies daily. I ordered one scoop of rhubarb sorbet and one scoop of spicy ube. The rhubarb sorbet was sweet and tangy, very refreshing. The spicy ube was sweet with a hint of spice (chili). The staff were friendly and efficient.

Lots of new interesting flavours. Nice Gelato, especially would definitely recommend the blueberry one. Was still open at 6.30pm on Sunday, when the majority of the shops were closed.
