We visited Jacks Kitchen when we were down for the Swansea Ironman. The staff were friendly and the location clean and tidy. The breakfast options were excellent. I had eggs Benedict and my wife had avocado on toast. Both were very nice and did the job perfectly

We’ve tried A LOT of cafes for brunch / lunch since moving to Swansea, but I can honestly say that Jack serves the best quality food in their class. It’s always cooked fresh to order and arrives at the table piping hot! The table service is relaxed and friendly too!

Friendly and helpful staff. Had 2 decaf oat lattes and 2 surfside breakfasts. Portions were very generous and the taste was excellent. An interesting twist on smoked salmon/scrambled eggs. Would definitely use again if in the area.

First time eating here. I ordered cod, chips & salad with extra baked beans. My partner had ham, egg, chips & baked beans. The staff were friendly we noticed. First our cups of tea were given, and our faces dropped.. both teas looked like pale wishy- washy water. I just couldn't drink it! Our food then arrived. My cod had been over cooked, I was stone hard with very little fish inside the rock solid batter. The chips were standard and beans. Salad was about the best on the plate. My partner enjoyed his ham. The one fried egg was ruined, it looked awful. And again chips & beans were just average. Staff being friendly will not be enough for us to return, sorry.

Went in here for a burger and chips after having looked round Swansea. Food was pleasant - burger and a lot of chips - and the people working there were pleasant. I enjoyed this.

So after the school run and an appointment at Specsavers, I decided to take the kids here for dinner so I didn’t have to cook when I got home.Service was fast, hand sanitizer was available at only one of the two enterances. Food and drinks arrive fairly quickly. Food was hot and well presented.Prices are not the cheapest for a family on a budget and McDonald’s would have been cheaper. But you get what you pay for, fresh food cooked well that tastes great!!Staff were happy in their work and even popped out to deliver food locally.Only prompt would be to ensure there’s more distance between tables, we were a group of three on a table for four. I could stick my hand out and place it in the near centre of the table for two next to me.Also no track and trace in place at this establishment, be it a clip board that the owner then sends details to government to collate or a QR code to scan.Having said that the area was clan, as was the toilet. A happy customer but due to table spacing and lack of Track & Trace I’d not eat here at peek times during the pandemic.

Homely city centre cafe with friendly staff. Nice choice of home cooked meals - omelettes the best tasting in Swansea. Delicious choice of foods, good choice of soft drinks, milk shakes and coffee. The chef can't do enough to please customers.

Myself and my husband popped in for a bit of lunch. We both ordered a panini and waited a while. When the food was served they were baguettes. I questioned this to be told that even though the waiter requested paninis from the kitchen he found out they didn't have any. The baguettes had been baked and were rock hard and not really edible. We were only charged for one but we pointed out that if they were out of paninis it would have been nice to ask what else we'd like instead and not just be given what they thought they'd serve. Don't think we'll be returning.

Visited today with my partner and kids. Food was great, very flavorsome and filling. Staff was also very friendly, the waitress also chased after us when we left behind our sons jumper to return it to us. We don't come to Swansea often, but when we do we'd definitely return to jack's diner

So I wanted to pop into Jacks recently and to my horror, it was shut. It was shut as it as undergoing a massive re-generation!!The owners how had taken over recently were giving the tired old place a much needed spruce up and today I popped in to see what they have done with the place. They have spared no cost, the kitchen equipment was all new, new tables, chairs, Wales, flooring, paint job and lighting. It’s now smartened up and a relaxing hub in the heart of the city.I had the jacket potato with three fillings and the portion sizes were way more than generous. The prices would not break the bank and are fair for the sizes you get. The staff are friendly, happy, cheerful and I can see this becoming more of a regular for me and the family.

So we were off to Argos and we were child free so decided to take a slight diversion across the street to Jacks Diner for a quick bite to eat.We went for panini, me the cheese and ham and the girlfriend went for the tuna. There was a slight weight for the food but this is to be expected. Freshly prepared food never arrives fast.Service was great, had a good chat to staff about Bristol, the young lad serving us was very welcoming and friendly. This is quickly becoming a favourite place of mine when needing to eat whilst out in town. The food is fab, service is outstanding and with a smile and the prices are fair so won’t break the bank.

So popped out into the cold to collect an eBay package from Argos and as it was so cold I nipped across the road for a brew.Place was near empty but it was 14:30 in afternoon and 1 degrees outside.Staff (young woman) was welcoming, chatty and brought the drink to the table. As I’m in the process of moving to Swansea (sometime in the next eight weeks) I can see this becoming a place that I’ll regularly visit as it was a fabulous brew.Place seemed clean and tidy, prices were not too bad, tables were not yucky and sauce bottles were clean.Had to use the toilet then dash off for the school run. However, the toilet was clean, plenty of paper and was smell free. All round good visit if only a flying one, will review again when I’ve had the privilege of sampling the food.

This small café is centrally placed on a corner in High street. When I visited there was a good selection of hot meals, breakfasts, paninis and burritos. All the food was freshly prepared and brought to the table. The coffee was tasty and hot. My daughter and I had paninis which were large and generously filled with a good portion of salad garnish. On leaving the young members of staff asked how we enjoyed our meal and it was a pleasure to say how good our experience was. I have told other members of my family about this little place which looks very ordinary from the outside.

Tiny little cafe and blink ans you may miss it, hard to park but enough for 2/3 cars at side if youre lucky. Each time ive been theirs been the odd builder/workman or two so have been lucky to get a seat to eat in but take away is available, only recall seeing cooked breakfasts baps and baguettes on menu so unsure about any other meal options. Fry up is beautifully presented with no greese on plate or produce and staff are quite effitiant so never a long wait but theres daily newspapers available

Visited Hungry Jacks for the first time recently for some basic comfort food. Was very impressed. A nice menu of burgers, omelettes, breakfasts and more. It was difficult to choose a single item! Food was fantastic and prices very reasonable. Service was brilliant and it has a proper waitress service which is hard to find in Swansea. Will surely be back.

We came here, my daughter and I for breakfast. She had the full 'English' which was properly cooked, not greasy as in other places and good quantity. I ordered just poached eggs and they came exactly as I had asked..cooked throough. It s amazing how many other cafes can't do that simple request. Service was good and polite and they said yes to my asking for baked beans instead of toast. Only thing was they did not have soya milk and I can't take dairy foods but apart from that we were very happy and will come back again.

My friend and i meet here every week. The staff are very friendly and remember us. The food here can be very hit or miss. I find its better to order toasted sandwiches than ordinary as the bread can sometimes be gluey and stick to your teeth. Sometimes you will have a really nice garnish with your food and sometimes they just dont bother. Nice atmosphere but no heating which makes you leave very quickly. But we still go there every week so cant be that bad!

I have used this cafe about 3 or four times when I have been in Swansea and have yet to be disappointed. The staff sometimes give out an air of naivety or confusion but far more important, they are pleasant and courteous and my meals have always been absolutely fine and served relatively quickly

This is a nice place, and was a quick and convenient stop off on our way to the train station. The only disappointment was that many of the ingredients seemed to be very cheap- is the milk used in the tea UHT? If not, why does it taste like it is? The bread used for the bacon sandwiches was soggy when it arrived, which made it quite difficult and unpleasant to eat.

I have been to a number of places in Swansea and have never been to a place that offers both cheap-ish prices and divine food. Most cafes or restaurants in Swansea also don't offer great service and attention to detail. I have been for both Breakfast and Lunch and have never been disappointed. The food isn't dirt cheap but it isn't expensive either. I know one of the staff members and he kept poking me as he went past, his colleague asked if I knew him, after that we talked for about five minutes as my friend tried to listen. He fell at one point. This might sound terrible but it was actually really funny.

I had never been to Jack's Kitchen before as it's a little bit out of the main shopping centre (it's opposite Argos on Swansea). But I drove past the other day and saw a sign in the window that they do Burritos. We are quite partial to a Burrito, and there are few other places in Swansea to get one (well, you can get one in Las Iguanas or Chiquitos, but they are, shall we say, ambitiously priced). So we popped in today to check it out.

I popped in to Jacks Kitchen earlier for just a snack and decided to try one of their burritos for a change, I had the Pulled Chicken with Bourbon sauce well I have to say it was amazing, so nicely presented with nachos on the side and tasting delicious, truly the best I have ever tasted! I will certainly be making this a regular lunchtime stop. The coffee I ordered was superb and I notice they do lots of different cakes and other snacks. I was given a really nice welcome which definitely makes a difference, even offered me a take out cup; nice work guys, keep it up!

My partner and his family visited in November. We were made to feel very welcome. Great ales on tap. We were lucky enough for them to let us eat a takeaway in there as the restaurant we planned to go to had double booked which was very kind of them. We had a great night and was so privileged to hear Hermione the bar manager sing in a cappella an Irish folk tune. Wow we couldn't hear a pin drop when she sang. It literally took my breath away. Definitely recommend this place and we will definitely revisit .

Skinny Caramel latte and fruit porridge. I have never seen a breakfast look so amazing but this also tasted amazing too. I can highly recommend this little coffee house a visit not only for the beautiful food and beverage but for people watching too. Best place I've been too.

I have waited several weeks before writing this. I rarely post negative reviews, particularly not for small independent venues. But the price of 2 pieces of cheese on toast costing £10.95 is still irritating me. I didn’t look at the bill until sitting back down and my bank account flashed up the amount. I went back to the counter and asked if this was correct. Then to add insult to injury, we had nearly finished our coffees and my wife went to the counter to check where the cheese on toast was. No apology from the staff, and they said it was waiting in the kitchen as they couldn’t remember what table ordered it. You would expect sour dough bread or some, artisan crafted speciality bread and a fine local Welsh mature cheddar for this price. What we received was bog standard supermarket sliced brown bread and a meagre layer of bog standard supermarket cheese, that barely covered the cardboard toast. It was now barely tepid and ranks as the worst and most expensive cheese on toast we have ever had. Our cake was good but I overpriced, and the coffee was OK, but no where near as good as numerous other coffee shops in Swansea. Positives are: venue is nice and clean, staff friendly but somewhat dopey. It’s a shame they demolished my old school Ty-Coch. I am sure the catering ladies would have done a better job
