Jacks Cafe & Bar in Wolverhampton

First time here, recommended by someone. Food was tasty, and portions were huge. Had grills all over, but this was a lot better than most. Reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.

Amazing North Indian Cuisine…I am a big fan of their lunch deals… in particular the Gobi and Aloo Paratha… Chilli Paneer is also a standout in the evening… parking can be an issue otherwise rate the experience at 4.5 stars

Absolutamente terrible. La “hamburguesa del cuarto de libra” era definitivamente una hamburguesa de ladrones. Las patatas fritas estaban bien, y la salsa de curry sabía bien... hasta que le arranqué un pelo de 2 pulgadas. Ni siquiera un reembolso ofrecido. Solo una bebida gratis o una nueva carga de salsa de curry. Honestamente iría más lejos de KK y conseguiría algo decente. El servicio estaba apagado también...

Visited today for lunch with a friend , the mixed methi & Gobi paratha was disappointing hardly any methi or Gobi in there and it was more like a large roti then a paratha , defintely not worth the extra cost , only good thing was the masala chai & service , wouldn’t recommend . Maybe should have just stuck to the aloo paratha like my friend suggested ,she did say the mixed parathas werent all that.

I ordered dal makhni for collection today but they give me dal makhni in water form ....no dal inside dal makhni ....I pay for dal makhni not for water

It's a shame really to be having to leave this review, as the owner, service and atmosphere were great. However, that's sort of where the positives end, firstly the promotion on food with 50% off ALL starters and mains. We ordered the food and noticed we had only saved £12.50, when questioned it was stated that it's the ones that are specially listed under "chicken" or "lamb" mains. We were told its clearly stated on the socials but that wasn't clear to me. Now, on to the starters, we had the chops, decent amount but mainly bone and fat. It says seasoned, but I just didn't get much other than a spice kick. Poppadoms, can't get wrong, but £1 each seems steep. Mains, I had mixed grill now for £17 I expected something really nice and good flavours. It was a complete let down, all the meats tasted exactly the same just burnt no stand out flavours, the fish pakora flavourless and just not nice. We bought a wrap and paid £1 for cheese, no cheese....we also had a kids chicken burger, literally just looked like something from Iceland nothing special, and not even chips with it so you pay for just a burger and tiny bit of side salad. Now, just back to the 50% off, we ordered a curry and as that was separate to the other curries on the menu was told it wasn't included in the offer, the curry was OK. I spent £10.80 on 3 cokes and a glass of water, not sure exactly what i was charged for abit of water. Unfortunately £75 later and I won't be returning. There are cheaper places with much better food, I couldn't eat mine as it wasn't nice so took it away. Not sure where it'll go just yet...I've literally left hungry I think I'll need a pot noodle when I get in.

Food was lovely and came out promptly, I always request the tea is bought to table 20 min after food, second time this has happened and they have bought it out with food, so by the time you have eaten tea is cold. Was told it was a healthy and safety issue?? Very confusing. Better service would’ve been to apologise and bring a fresh hot cuppa tea in 20 min as requested.

Went for works Xmas do. Great atmosphere to start but very repetitive music towards 11.30-12, could have done with more xmas/ party songs at this time of night. Regarding food, the starter and dessert were lovely. The main meal was not great- literally ladle of sauce with 2 pieces of chicken! Not value for money, compared to last year, not as good.

Even though they were absolutely jam packed with pre-gig customers everyone there was friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, too.

Buena comida, y no muy caro. Así que es un café muy popular. Particularmente me encanta lo MEJOR - panceta, huevo, salchicha y sándwich caliente de tomate, un sabroso, recién cocinado, sándwich de 2 niveles. Este café tiene personal encantador y alegre y una mezcla de nacionalidades. El menú tiene platos tradicionales ingleses e indios, y sirven mi comida favorita estilo desayuno todo el día. Puede reservar una mesa, entrar o pedir comida para llevar. Tienen TV en las paredes para eventos deportivos, etc. Hay una habitación de arriba utilizada como zona de estar adicional. También tiene un bar y se puede alquilar como sala de actos. Algunos de los asientos están un poco cansados, pero la decoración está bien y tienen baños modernos recién decorados. Era un sábado ocupado hora de comer cuando visité como un paseo - en, y aunque el tiempo de espera se predijo 30 minutos 'o más, todos los clientes estaban felices de esperar. Amablemente me enviaron mi sándwich caliente para uno en 10 minutos. Sin duda recomendaría este café para comida de calidad.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para comer después de visitar el lugar de música cercano y encontramos Jack's Bar. Honestamente puedo decir que el pollo Jalfrezi fue el mejor que he probado. Absolutamente fantástico. Mejor que las casas de curry de la ciudad. Sin duda recomiendo.

Amazing food at affordable price

Great place to eat. Very clean and impressed with the interior. The food was spot on, very tasty and fresh, the prices are reasonable too. The staff were pleasant and friendly. How have I not been here before? Will definitely be coming back to try out other foods.

Great food, and not overpriced. So it is a very popular Cafe. I particularly love the BEST- Bacon, egg, sausage, and tomato hot sandwich, a tasty, freshly cooked, 2 tier sandwich. This cafe has lovely, cheerful staff and a mix of nationalities. The menu has both English & Indian traditional dishes, and they serve my favourite breakfast style food all day. You can reserve a table, walk in, or order food to takeaway. They have TV's on the walls for sport events, etc. There is an upstairs room used as an extra seating area. It also has a bar and can be hired as a function room. Some of the seating is a bit tired, but the decor is fine and they have newly decorated modern toliets. It was a busy Saturday lunchtime when l visited as a walk-in, and even though the waiting time was predicted 30 min' or more, all the customers were happy to wait. They kindly sent my hot sandwich for one to me within 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this cafe for quality food.

Lovely little bar/Cafe/restaurant .. Great atmosphere. We had an Aloo Paratha . It was delicious and great value for money..( £4.50 ). Perfectly cooked, with a little bit of spice . The staff are lovely and very polite.. Very clean environment.. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.. Go and visit.. 10/10

Went here while waiting for a concert. Really great food

The place isnt the biggest so you have to get there early. Expect wait times ours was like 45 mins. Food is amazing. Ambience at the place is nice. Parathas were wow and the masala tea. Definitely worth the visit. Will be going down again soon. They stop serving breakfast after a certain time fyi.

Jacks is THE place to be if you're at KKs. Or if you like football. The food is great and the service is brilliant. If I had to criticise I'd say the salads are a bit unimaginative. But there are worse things out there than iceberg lettuce.

Salimos de la calle ya que estaba cerca de un lugar al que asistíamos. ¡Qué hallazgo! Nos dieron la bienvenida inmediatamente, y aunque parecían ocupados, se encontró una mesa para nosotros. Bastante variedad de platos indios y comida regular pub - parrilla. Mi amigo tenía Saag Paneer y yo una hamburguesa con queso. Ambos fueron geniales. El personal es amable, la comida está obviamente recién cocinada, pero aún así llega en un personal oportuno. Nos encantó tanto, que volvimos a desayunar al día siguiente y tampoco nos decepcionó entonces.

This place is so amazing and great choice for having a delicious meal and chill out. We have been here five times and every single time the food was great and service fab. The food is always freshly made and always tastes fantastic. Clean place and toilets are clean too!

Qué lugar fantástico. Estábamos buscando comida antes de un concierto y estábamos absolutamente encantados por Jacks. Parece un restaurante americano con cabinas y deportes en las pantallas pero con comida india. La comida es increíble y precios razonables. Los tamaños de las porciones son generosos y tiene una barra completamente surtida. El personal es amable, servicial y eficiente. Todo el lugar está impecablemente limpio, incluyendo los baños muy inteligentes.

Rude person working at the front of house. The guy name is Jimmy rude white guy. Arrogant. Didn’t know had to take hats off. Got told in a rude way to take it off and I should know this by know. My first visit too. The Owners as well.

Hired upstairs room for a function. Excellent food and service was 5*. Thanks to Jimmy for sorting it out for us.

Went with work colleagues that have said the food is good. Unfortunately, due to a medical issue I'm limited on my food options so I had the so called 1/4 pounder. The food arrived at the same time but while the table had a load of food to share, I got a sad pathetic excuse for a burger (frozen, budget multipack burger) that would have look at home sitting on a burger van at the side of the road, on a dry bun without any condements at all, sat next to a couple of chopped lettuice leaves, 1 single slice of tomato and 2 thin slices of cucumber. I managed to have 4/5 mouthfuls before I could eat no more. Had better quality from a McDonald's happy meal. It was so bad that my colleagues even stopped and asked the server "are you serious! Is that the burger?" The reply was quality"well this is Indian food, that's British in it" Like that is supposed to make it OK, so called British food is not to be given the same care and attention as the rest of the menu. Like its below them to bother, if that's the case take it of the damn menu and don't serve it. If it's on the menu it should be at the same standard as everything else Indian or not. The reply was a cop out, everything on any menu from any resturant should ha e the same quality and given the same care and attention as everything else. Has to be the worst place I have been with insulting staff. Glad I don't have to return

Great place. We popped in for a late lunch and it was quite busy. Both staff members were pleasant and extremely helpful. The guy explained the differences between parota fillings and helped me make my choice. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The parota was buttery and crispy and delicious and the accompanying yogurt had a great texture and taste. The BEST sandwich was huge and extremely hot as well. The fish pakora was enough to feed a family and was fresh and crispy and spicy. Overall, a great lunch, nice staff and we will definitely be back. Only negative was we didn't know where to park as double yellow lines outside.

Breakfast was nice.. I asked for the aircon to be put on as it was really warm in the restaurant. I was told that it was broken.

Walked in yesterday for a mixed grill and the rude owner tells me to take my hat off as i was about to order, customer service skills are awful. Glad i didn’t get a chance to order popped down the road to Desi Yew Tree for a better experience and much better food, good on you for losing a customer Jacks.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, highly recommend. We had mixed grill, chicken curry and black Dahl all cooked to perfection could not fault the food.

Great place to for a Sunday morning breakfast- we were spoilt for choice, so we had a mix of west meets east! Good service, lovely masala cha. Definelty will go back.

Some may turn their nose up at the location/ external appearance. But don't be fooled, amazing food, great staff. Interior is always clean. A Jack's curry is always a treat!

Given 5 stars if I could advise to make things even better needs a sign above toilet entrance several had to ask Also when waitress brings your meal no cutlery you have to get up and fetch it could be put on table or brought to you

Visited before a Wolves game, it was pretty busy but the manager sorted us a nice little booth with a tv screen showing one of the live games. Good selection of food available and a nice comfortable experience. The food took a little while to arrive but to be expected with how busy the place was. The food was decent, we had a mixed grill and a couple of curries. The mixed grill was nice - tandoori chicken on the mixed grill was brilliant.

My family and I went here last night for a meal before the wolves match. The food was absolutely gorgeous. We ordered chicken tikka, lamb curry, mixed grill sizzler, chips, rice and keema naan everything was hot and didn't take long to come out after ordering. Great atmosphere love the booth's with their own TV screens. Lovely friendly staff

Fantastic cafe and bar just up the road from KK's Steel Mill. Food was excellent, I had a chicken tikka wrap, which was very tasty and packed full of chicken and salad. Staff were very friendly and polite. Great atmosphere with loads of tellies showing the football. Will definitely go again when going to a gig at KK's.

First time eating in This establishment and have to say the service was really good the staff friendly also the drinks were good . Food was a plenty on the order and piping hot when brought to the table . If anyone is looking for a very good meal and at a quite reasonable price you cannot go wrong visiting here

Popped in on a Saturday night for pre gig food, having not heard of the place previously. It was really busy so we we're lucky to get a table. We ordered a sizzling mix grill, butter chicken curry , chips, and naan bread. Every part of the meal was delicious and full of flavour. Having previously tried this type of platter elsewhere, I can say that this is the best. There was no dry meat. It was all cooked very well. The butter chicken was a nice surprise, and the sauce was very tasty. At £37 for the food, the price was great too. Would definitely recommend 👌

The seedy outside does not reflect the lovely food we all had. Not been before because it does look seedy and unpleasant. But was fine inside and staff were nice. Parking is an issue so leave an Extra 10 minutes extra. Food was very good

I've been to Jack's bar about 20 times. Always a good feed. A great atmosphere. Nice clean tables,friendly staff and a decent menu. A pool table, fruit machines, a bar, big tvs what else could do you need. I've been both mornings and nights. It's worth a try. Check it out.

The large fries are very good and very large. Perfect. Burger pattie could be thicker.

I thought the manager was too stern and pretty rude especially to other customers that only wanted to play a game of pool curry was way too hot like a madras n asked for a lamb curry.. but the sizzling mixed grill was 10/10 only thing letting them down was the rude manager. He needs to let he's hair down move the tables abit further away as I could hear people's conversations.

I've been to over 30 different mixed grill places. And omg, when I tell you. This is by far the best. The lamb is to die for. I wish I wasn't from London, would be there every day.

Love this place went in pre match Monday. Had a courtesy call from Jimmy to say if we were going to the game order early as they're busy. Food was lovely, paid £48 for 4 of us our table was literally loaded with food I also pop here for a brekkie when I get a chance as I live a few minutes away. You can't go wrong. Excellent food, really enjoyed it but given stone cold plates which took the edge off. Ate straight from the serving dish instead.

We ordered some overpriced take away. A little daal portion was 7.95 and it was very highly overpriced for what it is. Food tasted below average and we wasted our money .
