Horrible experience, staff are rude and aggressive. Insisted on cash so suspected HMRC tax fraud. Fish wasn’t even nice.

Really enjoyed the meal we had yesterday evening, didn't take long to arrive.

called up to ask what came in the hamburger as doesn't say on the menu. they said no salah so i went ahead and ordered the hamburger and it came with cheese

There was a confusion on my home address. Then the driver said he needed a PIN number before handing it over. I have never had or used the App,or neede a PIN number before. I needed to reheat the food when I eventually was given my order.

Can someone please tell these people who do the chips to make nice soft chips please as I've just moved here. Thank you

Food was ok. Would have been better if it had been hotter but this isn’t the fault of the shop but the delivery driver who seemed to stop at another restaurant to pick up other orders which were delivered before mine

the burgers where well over done tasted like cardboard the buns where stale. chips where ok no great tbh and the rest of the order was mid really disappointed due to looking at the reviews wont be ordering again.

Edit Sep 2024 Still exactly the same! Currently waiting 20 mins for just chipsStill cash only - WTF? This is 2022. The only reason to avoid cashless is avoiding tax. Lovely chips - a small portion is enough for 2+. If they weren't stingey they would use two friers so they had chips ready at the same time as fish. When I went there, they cooked enough fish, sausages etc, and only then started cooking chips. Make use of the warm cabinets guys or use two friers! 20 mins for a fishcake and chips at 5.30 on Sat evening is taking the piss, especially when we have to pay extra tax to make-up for what you avoid.

food was over cooked and had to throw most of it away. I think it was due to the amount of time it took to deliver (over 45 mins) so the food was spoilt. It was disappointing 😞

Brilliant huss and cod with plenty of chips and a good friendly staff

I found myself in an unfamiliar area and saw the J & E fish bar. The OAP special is £7.00 and represents great value for such perfect fish & chips! My cod was obviously fresh and its brilliant large white flakes were encased in a lovely light crispy batter. The fish had steamed in the batter and wasn't greasy. Chips were plentiful and well cooked too - crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

So hot, really tasty, so much for your money, will always use them 10/10

this was the best value for money fish and chips, I had small cod soooo tender and just right batter. large chips which was a good size and quality, i know where to go when i come for a break again thank you.

Chips nice, and a generous portion. Meal was overall good but let down by unreasonably tiny portions of curry sauce etc- tiny dipping pots rather than the tubs most chippies use. Pies were hot and acceptable, not as tasty as Pukka. The crusts were a little rubbery. It was a decent meal overall, I’d use them again to try their fish and chips, but not for pies/curry sauce.

I have been buying from this company for more than 15 years. The quality of their food has declined over the years, but is still acceptable as regards taste! What does concern me, is the delivery process. Today's order 30 minutes late, the Curry sauce, AND the mushy peas, spread around the packaging, with the lids just floating loose, with the packaging soaked with the product. Will I order again?

I don't like the fact that the driver rang the bell, I opened the door within 10 seconds and saw him part way back to his bike and the paper bag with the food in was on the wet doorstep.

This was ordered for my Mum as a treat. She loved tge fish and said it was hot and sweet. She also said that the young lad was excellent with customer service that delivered it. Will definitely use again.

I just ordered a kids Cod that served up a generous amount of fish with the best chips I have had in a while. This could have passed for a large fish in any other part of the country. The battered sausage tasted as nice as it looked. 100% Well worth the wait for them to cool every thing from fresh

Extremely awful service. No food delivered. 1 call from delivery person to say was lost. 18 calls to restaurant no reply. Was on a visit to poor mobility parent. Was given her a treat but was instead a stressful visit. Very upset with the whole episode. Had 2 very hungry teens with me as well. 0/10 money had better not been taken from parents account.

I would order from j & e fish bar, but not through just eat...the driver went to the wrong address the over side of town. When it eventually got to me 2 hours late. Food was cold and nasty, straight in the bin! Atrocious service Just Eat...I need a refund please

The food was up to standard, but when I removed the top from the Curry Sauce, it exploded me, scalding my right-hand fingers. Luckily, I had a bowl of cold water in the sink, so I dunked my hand in this, and now I only have slight burns to my right hand. Obviously, I had to discard the curry sauce!!

Hungry Monkey is located on a quiet residential street, so unless you're very local, you'd never know it's there. On weekdays the venue is used for cookery classes but on Friday and Saturday nights it's open as a restaurant and take away. The food is good, but what makes it really special is the service. The chef / owner, Yoong, will tailor the dishes to your requirement. The menu can change according to what ingredients she has. (she's called us back before offering different dishes she could prepare as alternatives) Eating in is great fun (and cheap, bring your own booze) you can order from the menu, but we usually let Yoong choose, and she will bring us a selection of dishes. All very relaxed and friendly. Child friendly too. It's excellent service and great for special occasions. They really make you feel welcome. An asset to the community.

Went here for dinner and the food was very tasty, the burgers in batter are very big and filling. The chips are delicious and the staff are very friendly, will definitely be going here again in the near future. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area, for some decent fish and chips and you certainly get your money's worth.
