First time having Hot Pot and it was a great experience! It’s Not Hot Pot was very enjoyable, friendly welcome and great explanation on the allergy options and food choices! Portions are very generous! Order a little at a time to reduce waste and enjoy! Tomato Broth and Bone Broth was so good! We would be back! Thank you It’s Not Hot Pot for a great experience!

Hot pot here was very good. Lots of vegetarian options, as well as meat and fish options. Probably only down side is that you cannot do half and half vegan/vegetarian broth and meat broth - but perhaps you can ask if this is possible. Dipping sauces are not included, and would say it’s on the pricier side, but the price might be normal for the uk..?

Really delicious broths, we had the least spicy and it was perfect for my taste. Lovely small plates selection that your cook yourself. Our server was very informative about cooking times which put me at ease as I wasn’t really sure how long to cook everything. We definitely over ordered but the value for money is brilliant in my opinion. Would absolutely recommend

The hot pot broth was amazing, fresh quality food, service was excellent. The only complain I have and not giving it 5 stars is why do they not sell plain boiled rice. We all love a good broth with a bowl of rice!

Best place on earth. My girlfriend and I make an occasion of going here every few months as it’s such a special experience and the food is always wonderful. Great for lots of vegan options with different types of tofu, mushrooms and Chinese vegetables and the broth is incredible. The service is always very polite and considerate which makes coming here a delight every single time. Also great value for money.

Absolutely lovely!! I mentioned in my reservation that we had vegan and gluten free members in our group, and the manager was so attentive in helping us navigate the menu as well as advising us on the hotpot as we went. I’m Malaysian and have had quite a few hot pots in the past and will gladly say that this was delicious and authentic. I would highly recommend this place. We had the vegan tomatoe soup and vegetarian mushroom (which they even offered to do a vegan version of for us). They were both great and there were plenty of toppings that fit our dietary requirements. It was also super affordable!

I’ve never walked out of a restaurant ever in my life but this one I just did. The staff there is unwelcoming and we were not seated even tho we were standing there for like a minute and we just sat on the nearest empty chair we can find and decided to wait (mind you the restaurant was half empty and there were plenty of seats available) as usual we were talking about what to eat while waiting and one staff approached us and started lecturing to us about how we’re not supposed to sit and keep yapping us about that and didn’t even gave a second to reply and explain to them. But we took it as our fault and decided to order by scanning qr code like he said and we didn’t see an option about rice so we try to called them 3 times and make gestures by hands a lot of times and they turn their back to us and didn’t care and ignore (it was too obvious) :3 SO WE WALKED OUT because I’ve never seen such an entitled hot pot place and rude staff all together in my entire life. XD It’s not about what you say it’s how you say it! (Im not the type to write bad reviews on places but saw the sponsored post and suddenly reminded about the bad experience I got there)

I love this place. The two tone broth is 👌be sure to add some chopped raw garlic, spring onions, coriander, sesame oil and soy sauce to the bottom of the bowl before adding a ladel of broth to really make the flavours pop.

I actually cannot explain how much I love it here. Last week I genuinely came 5 out of 7 days. The staff are amazing and make the experience even better which is difficult bc the food is so stunning, the atmosphere is wonderful and if I could eat here every single day without bankrupting myself I genuinely would.

We had a fantastic experience at i”it’s not hot pot” and can’t wait to go back. We came for a birthday celebration and between 2 of us order enough to share with a family of 4-6. We definitely should have paid better attention to the recommended amount to order on the menu, but we do not regret anything we ordered. The manager was extremely friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. From asking for a few extra napkins, to always being on hand to clarify cooking times, we were made to feel welcome from start to finish. Overall, we spent way more than you’d need to when going, this was a birthday treat so we did way more than necessary. Realistically I think it’s possible to fully satisfy 2 people for around £25 total. Extraordinary value for money, and really fresh, yummy ingredients. We can’t wait to return.

Wow!!! The service is so amazing here and the manager was so gentle and kind and patient with every question we asked. He was even attentive enough to hear us questioning needing more napkins and brought them over on his own accord. The food is brilliant (quite spicy though sometimes) and so so fresh. I couldn’t ask for more from this beautiful restaurant. Definitely recommend the soft shell crab and prawns. We can’t wait to come back!! 🩷

Me and my partner had a mini crisis trying to decide on which hotpot place to eat at in Bristol, and we were so lucky we decided on this one‼️ If you're a first time hotpot eater then this place is perfect. And if you're experienced with it then it's even better & will entice you back in just like the couple who we were sat next to, who have been regulars for years. The waiter is incredibly friendly and explained the process very clearly for us! The ingredients were honestly so fresh & packed full of flavour. You're given green onions, garlic and coriander to season your pot with, in addition to soysauce and vinegar. So you can enhance & tailor the taste to your preference. We ordered the bone broth and the spiced broth, and the balance between the two are perfect. (If you're a first timer then they give you the milder option which we were grateful for because it's quite hot [3/5🌶] ) We ordered: Premium beef Ribye Cabbage Soft Shell Crab Ramen Pork Dumplings It was all beautiful. Will absolutely be coming back on our next visit to Bristol❤️‍🔥🤝

My favourite restaurant to eat at. The service is very personal and caring. Always genuine help with what we are ordering and offering us advice on what to try. The type of food on offer is amazing and it’s a cool experience to try with friends and family. Couldn’t recommend more!

Really good hot pot restaurant, great choice of veg meat and fish. We chose 7 items between 2 people (£44 total) and were very very full!

Our waiter was friendly and would throw in a joke or two which was refreshing. The whole experience was very straightforward and something different in Bristol. Everything was packed with flavour will definitely be coming back for more.

Truly a must go if you are a fan of hotpot. Service was excellent as the waiter was helpful in explaining how the system works and moved us to a different table when we asked to. Food quality was very high and the price is by far cheaper than major hot pot restaurant such as Hai Di Lao. Thank you!

Delicious food, really kind staff and lovely service. Me and my girlfriend have made a tradition of coming here every month and we both absolutely love it and we’ve never had a bad experience. The foods really affordable and good quality and it’s a nice quiet and calm environment. I’d recommend getting the split broth if you’re not the best with spice so you get the best of both worlds. I genuinely couldn’t recommend it enough :)

The shop doesn’t have a POS machine, so if you need to swipe/tap your card- not possible. The young guy works at the shop told me they don’t have a POS machine and “it’s the UK, so…”, hinting it’s not China. If you are going to open a CHINESE hotpot restaurant, maybe you should not be such a racist! (Funny thing is, he is Asian and can speak Chinese too) Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Really good place for first timers with hot pots! The staff was very patient with us as we were trying to figure out our way with the hot pot and how it works. I would say order much less than they are recommending because you get A LOT of food. The only thing was that we went on Saturday, quite early ish I would say (5pm I think?) and they already had many items on the menu sold out. I would also say price wise, a really good value for money!

We had a lovely late lunch, the service was amazing, every single member of staff looked after us in one way or another. To top it off, the food was delicious we couldn’t get enough.

This was my first hot pot experience! I can only say - WOW! The broth was so delicious! All ingredients for the hot pot were fresh and tasty, I’ve went with beef and lamb meey for protein which was sliced so nice and thin that it only took a minute to cook each slice. The staff were very friendly and helpful with some explanations! Can’t wait to go back soon! Definitely recommend it to people who never tried hot pot before but love Asian food!

10/10!! We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and instructed to use the QR code to order. Our food was bought out to us within seconds of ordering as well as being asked if we were vegetarian (which we were) just to make sure our broth didn’t include any meat products! The food was excellent and just an overall fun experience! We will be returning :)

Poor service during our meal. Waiter brought us meat meal when we clearly asked for veggie (4 veggies at table - all) place was busy and badly organized. Clearly need more staff. When we queried what was floating around in the broth we were told it's meat. On the menu the tomato broth says it's veggie. Anyway, the charade went on, with a personal disagreement between the manager and the waiter who then told us we would have to pay again as this was what we ordered. I asked to speak to the manager, the young waiter said he's to busy. This turned out ro be a lie. Suddenly then, the waiter is no longer working for them. Apologies were made and we then didn't have to pay for new broth. In the end it all turned out ok, food was brilliant and normal service resumed. Manager brought us extra things to try as way of Apologies.

Went there with my friends today. We ordered two separate hot pots with a choice of sides. Both the broths were extremely delicious although we asked for water broth instead of bone broth (we don’t eat pork/pork products). Didn’t like the herbal ice tea but my friend loved the coconut milk. Highly recommend the food, & the experience itself was exotic!

We came for lunch time and overall the hotpot experience could've been better. Maybe it was a bad day but few of the menu items were unavailable which considerably limited our food choices. Wouldn't reccomend the squid as it didn't look fresh and was very rubbery. I handle spicy food well but that spicy broth was on a whole different level so beware if you go for just the spicy broth!

As an hotpot place, this is the most disappointing one ive visited in the UK, not only it have quite high price for mediocre quality of food, but they also limit their menu as simple as rice. One of a disppointing places in bristol. Although it have a comfortable atmosphere and good service, the price and the limitation of their menu really pisses me off.

My first experience with Hot Pot, and it was one to remember! There were many different options to cook in the pot, and all of them were high quality as well. Had jasmine tea as well, which was delicious. The staff was very helpful to us as well and answered all our questions. Very nice place for a date or a chill night out with friends. Definitely recommend!

Great food, good selection, cost wise really depends on what you order- if you order a lot of meat it’s definitely going to be expensive. We ordered 2 meats, 2 seafoods, noodles, quite a few meat balls, vege and beancurd dishes, pot of tea to share and we were absolutely STUFFED, it was around £25-30 per person. Only bad comments would be the 90min limit; no alcohol selection (a cold beer is always great with hotpot!); and the state of the toilet- due to the fact that the toilet seat does not stay up, some people have made the seat quite disgusting as a result…

Staff were friendly and helpful thought the meal. Would recommend booking ahead, as quite a few people were turned away at the door.

This place is an absolute gem. The service was so friendly and helpful, explaining all the cooking times when our food came out and was easily available throughout the meal. I will say that the lowest spice option for the broth is SPICY!! We have a decent tolerance for spice but we were sweating. The mushroom broth was incredible. They top the broth up and keep it warm so I'd recommend only getting 1 between 2 people as it'll be plenty. The options were vast we were spoilt for choice and ended up over-ordering because we wanted to try so much but they kindly let us take our leftovers home. All of the mushrooms were super delicious, the spicy beef was tender and tasty and all the seafood we had was perfect. It was such a great date night and I look forward to coming back already!!

Love the food there. It was fresh and delicious, tasty broths (few to choose from) , many ingredients to choose to add for broths. Friendly staff explain everything about thier services etc . Nice place. We have a lot leftovers , we were able to take them home as well I was happy about this, no waste . :)

It’s a good solid place but be prepared for some MSG intake. It’s not cheap but quality is good. Have both spicy and non-spicy options - great place to go with friends as it’s communal eating.

Really excited to try this place but was a little underwhelmed. The decor was very dark for a small space and felt a lttle dirty. The server was lovely but was very softly spoken, so we really struggled to hear what they were saying, even though it wasn't very busy as we were early in the day. I also felt the server spoke directly to my partner only and completely blanked me which was slightly strange. We had the 2 broths and be warned the mild spice is actually VERY spicy. My partner and I can both handle spice but were sweating! We ordered a variety of different foods to try which were all very tasty. It was a little confusing as you are told a lot of information all at once from the server regarding cooking times etc which is very easily forgotten. It would be super helpful to have a card on the table to help you remember. Also, for me personally seperate utensils for the different foods and raw/cooked would have made me more comfortable. We each had 1 set of chopsticks and a ladel in each of the hotpot broths, so it was very difficult to put for example, raw prawns and raw steak into the broths without accidentally using the same utensils as for the cooked meats and vegetables. I didn't really want to use my chopsticks on raw prawns and then eat my cooked food with them. We ended up mostly putting the raw in the broth with our fingers in the end, but then there isn't any antibacterial wipes for your hands which created another issue. We ended up getting through a lot of napkins and I felt dirty by the end of the meal. A simple pair of tongs for your raw meat and seafood would have been ideal. The food was very tasty and enjoyable. I love a food experience but to be honest I left still feeling kind of hungry and I don't think I'd rush back again.

So wanted to love this; based on the reviews it was a no brainer. All food and drink ordered via qr code. We asked ref recommendations but were told "we don't recommend anything". Talked through the process of putting the chosen food into the broths etc. Main issues were no rice available and the timings we had to judge ourselves so phones and watches set which was not ideal for an easily enjoyable meal out. Their butter spicy broth was apparently the least spicy broth 🔥🔥🔥. Not for us a good experience but other reviewers seem to like it. Sadly we left hungry.

Consider this a significant life altering decision , but think carefully about having the spicy broth paired with spicy beef.

This place does NOT take allergies/ intolerances seriously. Ordered vegetable broth and informed the young male waiter I am vegan. He seemed shocked and confused at my dietary requirement. He told me I was lucky tonight as they usually use bones for the vegetable broth but they hadn’t tonight so I would be ok. The food was below average, but I was happy as I thought I was able to enjoy a meal with family. At the end of the meal he asked my teenage sister to stay behind, we were all confused. He then informed her (not me!) that the vegetable broth I had been given did in fact contain bones, and he had lied to me. She then had to let me know after we had left the restaurant. It is so inappropriate to make up a complex lie, and then to not even tell me personally. If I had an allergy this could have been awful. He also made odd comments to our table all night, he chatted to us throughout the whole meal when we were clearly uncomfortable. He kept asking if my sister and her boyfriend were siblings- which is incredibly confusing as they are different races! Probably the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Avoid avoid avoid!

The cosy place provides you with a broth where you add ingredients of your choice. Amazing choice of meat, fish, and vegetables. Once ordered and paid online through the app you get the food brought to you quite quickly. All food fresh and enjoyable.

Very quiet, expensive for what the portions you get. The squid was extremely rubbery however cooked, even with the recommended cooking time, when asked there was no apologies or help given when I explained my boyfriend and didn’t enjoy it. Very disappointing.

Very BAD experience with this restaurant. The young male BOSS very RUDE to customer! A lot of ingredients are missing in the menu, especially RICE! The waitress has agreed to allow us to bring the rice from outside, but when we open the rice box, the young male boss shouted at us. He should have asked before shouting. This will be our first and LAST time dining this restaurant. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED this restaurant.

There was only one vegan broth option available which was one that was tomato based. It was delicious, but would have loved to have more options. We asked for vegan recommendations of what to order and the staff told us to google the options and see what we liked the look of. Completely reasonable, but it was quite unhelpful as all we wanted were some pointers as we were unfamiliar with the cuisine. Overall, it was excellent food and the interior was lovely - I would recommend the restaurant for that, but the customer service could be improved.

Food was amazing and the fact that we had to cook our own food was interesting and fun. The guy who greeted us was very kind and was giving us all the info we needed but.. when we asked for some suggestions about how many portions we had to order he said that they don't give suggestions and at 9.30pm, while we were still eating and cooking our food, one of the waitress came to our table and said that they were closing, so basically we had to leave. We said that we were still eating so no way we would leave the restaurant till we finish, she suggested to give us some takeaway boxes, we obviously refused and carried on eating. The order was placed at 9pm, how they thought that we were cooking and finish our food in less than 30 minutes? Was rude and weird.

I spent two years living in Chongqing, so you can imagine my delightful surprise when I came across this authentic hot pot in Bristol! They had almost all of my favorite hot pot add-ins (sadly, they were out of quail eggs at my visit and I didn't find pumpkin on the menu!) My only regret was not going spicier on the spicy side of our split pot 🔥

It was my first time trying hot pot and I absolutely loved it! The food was so tasty and it was also great value for money for the amount of meat we ordered! I will definitely be going there again! For anyone who likes an alcoholic drink, please note that the restaurant doesn't allow the consumption of alcohol in their premises. We didn't mind that at all, plus it also allowed us to enjoy the experience and focus on the cooking.

The food was disgusting! Did not enjoy any of the meat or hotpot, expensive for what it is! Very cheap nasty frozen meat! Deffo would not recommend!! Staff are rude and not helpful! O stars!!!!

1st timer diner at this establishment. First impressions, not so good. Man sat on step just infront of door smoking. But, I've seen worse. We arrived early for our reservation and was seated straight away. We had the best server D'Mario. They explained how things worked and left us to it. A little suggestion that would have really helped us, as I struggle to remember everything when there is so much going on, an A5 menu type of card that explains what to do. How long to put each item into broth, and how to enjoy the food. We made the mistake of ordering too much and put too much into the broth so that the food started to burn! They cater for vegetarians, vegans and Coeliacs. Fantastic. The sour plum juice is absolutely gorgeous. The broth wasn't too spicy, so I enjoyed making my dipping sauce nice and spicy! Would I go again? Yes definitely. Will my experience be better? Yes definitely now I know what to do. If you decide to give it a go, go with an open mind but make sure you book. Within an hour of us being there the tables were full. Definitely recommend going. If you have allergies or an intolerance make sure you have 2 devices to check allergen menu as you order.

Had an early dinner with family. Very good hot pot. We ordered the two broth option, one of them medium spicy which, for us, was spicy enough. Service was quick and friendly. The only reason for a 4 star rating was the lack of liquor license. We certainly wanted/needed a beer to quench the spice. Otherwise everything was great. Thank you.

Absolutely insane First you can take anything home, including broth! D’Mario (I hope that’s how you spell it :’)) was AMAZING. I swear they can read minds because the second I ordered a coke, it was already at the table. I’m not joking, how did they do that so quick??? Food is all freshly chopped, but the chef goes a million miles per hour and food is ready before the broth gets a chance to heat up haha! You finished a plate? It’s already gone and you didn’t even see the staff. It’s amazing! Huge tea pot! Lovely if you love some tea :) Overall amazing! Loads of gluten free options, and the chef warned us about gluten when my non-gluten mother ordered something with it in. Really recommend, but it is popular so book a table!

We had a fantastic meal here with friends! I was a little worried about communal eating as I have coeliac disease, but one of the staff members made sure my husband and I had a separate hot pot to our friends which we could keep gluten free. All gluten free options are marked on the website menu and ordering on my phone was easy. The food was delicious, and it was nice having everything kept hot so we could eat at our own pace. The staff were also brilliant and really helpful. We had a great time and will definitely go back.

Brilliant. The food was incredible and the staff were very attentive.

While the ingredients were good quality, the broth was so bland it may aswell been a pot of greasy hot water. Not a grain of salt in it. I added 3/4 of a bottle of soy and a ton of garlic which improved it a little but was still far from enjoyable and quickly diluted back to unbelievable blandness again by the server who dumped a kettle of water in it without asking if we wanted it. Left feeling quite sick and wondering what I’d spent over £75 on.

Wonderful concept- had to get my head round the self cooking bit, but had a wonderful experience. BE WARNED the spice for mild ALONE is VOLCANIC. I watched my father turn into steam while eating it- still loved it though. Highly recommended BAGS OF FUN

Really enjoyed the concept, but wasn't a huge fan of the broth. I found the mushroom broth quite bland, but added lots of garlic and soy sauce to enhance the flavour. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but the toilets were quite dirty. I definitely think the experience would be better if you eat meat - as most of the flavour comes from the bone broth. Thank you for a pleasant evening though.

Overall, the food was good and a fun experience of using hot pot. However, we booked a table for 9 people - this was a particularly special occasion as our friend was travelling to the other side of the world and this would be the last time we’d see him for four years. Once we arrived, we were shown to two separate tables - a table of 4 and a table of 6. It was not easy to share conversation between the 9 of us and we all wished this was something that was made clear before booking a table of 9, and paid a £100 deposit for a table of 9 people. The manager explained it wasn’t possible to sit together, he was quite blunt in his delivery and wasn’t accommodating to our suggestions eg there were two tables near each other in a row which would have provided a much more pleasant and connected experience for our group of 9, instead of being on completely separate tables. He disregarded our suggestions, and were not accommodating to our needs at all. Also, the system for ordering food was quite clumsy - resulting in us ordering duplicates of certain dishes, this was reported to staff immediately however they were not willing to accept this was a system error and therefore we paid for something we didn’t order twice. Overall, an ok experience but not a venue for groups bigger than 4-6. Manager was unhelpful and not friendly at times.

Really enjoyed our visit. Great service and talking through ordering. Would definitely go again
