Italian Kitchen in Brighton and Hove

Located on the top floor or the food hall of Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton. There is a queue before you enter the restaurant in order to be allocated a seating area. Our allocated table unfortunately wasn’t clean enough so we have to ask for it to be cleaned first. The place is cosy and trendy atmosphere. The food is delicious and warm with decent portions. Condiments are available in designated areas. Overall a good place for dining experience.

A place like any other in shopping centers. Lots of tables. You can invite more friends for snacks, lunches or dinners. A large selection of drinks - hot, cold. The menu includes several pasta dishes, a few pizzas, seafood, etc. The menu is not full of strange dishes, it is just right. Nice service, waiters serve meals to the tables. You can choose your own sauces and spices. For a place in a shopping mall, it is peaceful and quiet.

We just had our lunch here. The taste of food not good. Too much oily for fish and chips and the avocado sandwich was bitter And expensive for the quality and services.

Very poor in every aspect. Tables weren’t clean and we were seated in the worst seating possible even though there were many ‘nicer’ tables available. Food was outlandish and I’m still bewildered and disturbed about the standard of food I received. I ordered a lasagna and got through half, next thing I know I am projectile vomitting for the next few hours, it was a painful experience that I do not wish to venture through again. My partner ordered the Caesar salad and the chicken was cold and most definitely undercooked. Will never be returning here

Staff is so nice and the food is delicious. Would definitely come here again and I recommend to anyone visiting Brighton

Delicious food, super fast and good service

The coffee wasn’t nice at all and the bottle of water is for £2.50 almost!!

I went to this establishment with my niece during our shopping trip in Churchill Square. We did not order food as we only wanted to drink tea. I found the staff very helpful and approachable. There were a few people having meals and there was a nice atmosphere.

Visited for breakfast gives the impression of a upmarket experience waited to be seated waiter came straight away welcomed me showered me to my seat looked very promising ,told have to go to the till and place your order like Wetherspoons but more expensive if you are changing premium price, can’t expect customers to go to the till to order food turned up not a long wait presentation very good thinking must re visit but oh dear stone cold eggs and toast burnt couldn’t see because avocado was covering the burnt toast why not just redo? The toast, no one ask if everything was ok when leaving staff by entrance didn’t say goodbye or thank you shame started so well conclusion won’t be back with family .

I have had a worse jacket potato and salad cinoise in my life in this restaurant. The food was plain and no taste....very expensive too. I will never go back there again. 👎👎

After joining the queue to order at 11.40, to the till to order at 11.50, only to be told that they were no longer serving breakfast. Went back to our table to let the others know and choose something else, noticed on the menu stated served till 12pm!!! Queried this with a waiter who didn't even know there was a set time. The ques was now about 7 people deep. We'll went ekwhwre.

I recently visited here, and I have to say that the only reason I'm giving it one star is because of the friendly staff. They were incredibly welcoming. However, I can't overlook the quality of the pizza I ordered. It was so greasy that it left me with a stomachache afterward. The excessive grease made the entire dining experience unpleasant. It's unfortunate because I had high hopes for this place. I hope they can improve the food quality because the staff deserves better. Until then, I'll have to think twice before returning.

Last visit, totally disappointing. Food not 100% hot & batter on fish & chips soggy with skin the on fish 😔 - a no no.

You know it's odd when an Italian restaurant asks you to order at the counter and pay upfront, and it gets weirder when they offer fish and chips. The food is good albeit a little bit on the expensive end. It tastes more like meal kits rather than freshly prepared food somehow. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. Staff doesn't seem to be attentive and took a few calls to have simple requests fulfilled. Combined with the open-plan layout in a food court, overall the experience could be better.

Visited this restaurant again yesterday for lunch after going in February as we enjoyed our lunch so much last time. Ordered the same thing chicken escalope panini it arrived minus the chips on the plate which we got before! Asked the waitress and she said there had been changes to the menu! Too right nearly £10 for a panini and a few salad leaves! Had to buy the chips extra! £3.95! Chicken was over cooked and chewy not enjoyable. Remove the chips and still charge the same price! Won’t be returning or recommending.

popped in whilst on a shopping trip with my grandaughter. Staff were amazingly polite despite myriads of foreign students behaving badly . My compliments on how they coped and how we were served . I will be back for a full meal .

After a delightful day exploring the charming streets of Brighton, my partner and I decided to refuel at Italian Kitchen, and we were absolutely delighted with our experience. We were greeted upon entry by very friendly staff helping us get seated. I ordered the chicken and pepperoni pizza which was cooked to perfection, while my partner opted for a cheeseburger, I couldn't resist stealing a bite, and it was fantastic. The burger was juicy, flavorful and has ensured our return to this restaurant upon our next visit to Brighton.

I found this place on National Rail website offering 25% off when you come on the train, that's the reason I decided to come here for lunch. The food came quickly, the pizza was cooked fresh and would definately come here again next time I'm in Brighton.

The manager was horrible I walked in wanting breakfast because all the pubs were too full this morning for the football game and he stared at me like I was a piece of gum on his shoe. He’s selective with who he treats well I went in there and paid a huge amount of money on a tiny mediocre breakfast that was r worth the £9 I payed for it and to top it all off he then treated every other person around me better than me. The people next to me he smiled at them and greeted them warmly as he sat them down rubbing it in my face as he gave me evil eyes and when I asked for a glass of water he wouldn’t even look in my direction and practically dropped it into my hand with disgust on his face. He should be fired absolutely shameful behaviour. Acting as if he’s working in some michelen star restaurant when it’s only Italian kitchen

They were able to accomodate a large group with no prior booking with no issue. You have to go up to the counter to order and pay for your food beforehand which was fine by me, and was in fact very useful as when part of a group it means everyone could pay for what they ordered seperately. They of course had the Italian classics like pizza and pasta, but there were also cakes and biscuits and a good selection of other tasty morsels too. The absolute best thing about Italian Kitchen however was the speed at which they cooked our pizzas. It cannot have been longer than ten minutes between placing my order and starting to eat. The pizza was tasty, only criticism is there wasn't enough of my beloved goat's cheese on it. Another big plus was the cost. £11.95 for the aforementioned goat's cheese pizza, the same sort of pizza costs at least £3 more at Pizza Express, though perhaps their's is a big bigger. It was very nice though and was very pleased about the price. Needless to say I would definitely visit again, only issue is there wasn't really any obvious way to leave a tip, as the transactions were done right at the start.

Just had lunch here. The place lack of "Italian" feeling. Am Italian and I didn't feel "at home". Food average, service quite kind. Wouldn't recommend it, sorry.

Not had a bad meal yet, and we go here a fair bit. No one expects a fine dining experience in a shopping centre but the food is always very tasty and fresh. The service cannot be faulted. We love Italian Kitchen 😊

This was my first visit here and I was a bit disappointed. We both ordered jacket potatoes, cheese and beans with a coffee to drink. The coffee was ok. Unfortunately the jacket potato looked and tasted like it had been around for a while, it had been microwaved whereas I prefer oven cooked. The dish itself looked a bit of a mess and the actual portion was more like a child portion, the salad dressing was just a bit of greenery. I probably won’t eat here again

Was in Churchill square and was hungry , came here and got a goats cheese panini to take away, was very tasty and good service

My grandson went here with his friends who are all 15 years old,he spent over £12 of his Christmas money on a meaty pizza, he took this photo as he didn't want to complain and showed me it, I thought it was a joke it looks like the chef has chucked some ham on top as an after thought he also said that the base was not cooked properly and his friends burger was so dry it was inedible,shame on you to call yourself a business.

My son came over to Brighton with his friends on Saturday 14th January to spend his Xmas money him and his friends chose to have lunch here and the food was appalling over priced under cooked and looked like a toddler had thrown it together obviously them being teenagers they didn't feel comfortable making a complaint but my son told me and showed me the state of his pizza and I thought it was a joke. He also said his friends burger was so dry he couldnt eat it!?

Have used this restaurant many times and have never had any major complaints. It does get busy at times which means the order may take longer to arrive but as it is cooked to order you cannot really complain. The staff are always friendly but I have at times had problems with some of the younger weekend staff who do not seem to have any manners. That's more a society problem rather than a restaurant problem. Overall its excellent service and value for money and would highly recommend the establishment.

Met family staying in Brighton here. It was after Xmas sales week so Centre was extremely busy. We stopped here for lunch and was seated fairly quickly. Quite a queue to order food but not too long to wait for the food. Between us we had sandwich, baguette, lasagne, omelette, chips and a kids lunch. It was all enjoyable for a shopping centre lunch. Good to see baguettes etc freshly made in front of you and would visit again.

had breakfast there today. had to send hubbys back as very badly cooked. got a dose of food poisoning for breakfast. we wont be returning. it used to be wonderful there. now. its worse than those layby canteens. 1 star because i had to put something. save your cash amd go elsewhere.

Fairly priced, nicely presented and quick table service, with an ok atmosphere to boot. I enjoyed my hour, having an Italian spaggetti lunch, washed down with a more that respectable House Red. If I go to Brighton again, I would definitely consider the Italian Kitchen again.

Seems, as other places, increased cost and overheads is met with low quality food, just had breakfast, and have had breakfast for half the price that has been better. Some items of food were cold.

Slow service, food ok. Staff not customer aware. Having sent one lot of food back as sitting for 10 mins under lamp, next lot ok. Had drunk our coffees, had to buy more! Disappointing.

Disappointing experience. Food was alright but the wait was ridiculously long for only eggs on toast and it arrived slightly cold. My partners food didn’t even arrive so after 45 mins we checked and they hadn’t put the order through. Overall disappointing and won’t be coming back for Breakfast.

Awful servis and waiting for food 58 min.

The wait was almost an hour for a sandwich which was clearly all pre-prepared food and didn't taste that great either as I found a big lump of gristle in my chicken. I won't be returning. Also quite expensive for what it is. You'd be better off going to McDonalds across the way.

As a place to eat in comparison I visited today as my sister wanted to change and said how good this place is.. Had the full English breakfast and in contrast to other outlets I've found the meal to be OK. The price of it is about right but then found the drinks on the steep side. Staff served us with a dirty and stained cup which had to ask for replacement and as soon as finished found staff asking to take away the plates immediately.. Whilst I understand there can be the whole clean turn and remove process it's never good to appear to hurry paying customers out the door.. Overall 3 of 5 stars is fair really... Can't say I wouldn't ever return, but then again couldn't say I would either.. Maybe a once a blue moon visit more like it.. But would've been nice to be able to feel I can vacate when ready.

We went for lunch here today, had some overpriced sandwiches and a drink- food was nice but what I witnessed not so much. The manager on shift sneezed into his hands, he then goes straight to wash them- however the sink the staff were using...

Food was good but pricey. £27 for two plates of pasta and two soft drinks.

Have been going here for years till the pandemichit, so now not so regular. The food is still tasty. I would recommend the caesar salad its prepared to look good and taste nice. Hubby always has the burger and chips does get dissapointed at times...

Food is good, staff used to be friendly but these days not so much. My 2yr old was looking at the menu, waitress came past 'you finished with that' not as a question & just took it off him. Would have walked out had we not already ordered. Shame as place used to be lovely.

The food choice is great for a snack lunch. The pizza was freshly cooked with a nice tasty topping , the Panni had loads of filling and was really tasty. It was so nice to be able to have a glass of wine with lunch...

It is a lovely restaurant with very friendly staff

I have been here several times and I like it a lot : the staff are friendly and helpful and there is a pleasant, unrushed atmosphere . But - this time I had fish and chips - and the fish was sitting on top of the peas - so - very difficult to cut up - I mentioned it to the waitress : afterwards I had coffee - happy ending and - yes I will be going back . . .

We have always really enjoyed this place. The menu is good, and the quality is consistently good. I think that there are some very unfair reviews on this page.

The food is ok the staff need more training and personality all stand about no extra questions ask after food was brought to the table.

Shame was lovely last time we were in here, ordered the garden breakfast & eggs Benedict.. Mocha & a cappuccino, we couldn’t tell the difference, they looked & tasted the same?.. also raw / uncooked poached eggs, yuk not sure if I would bother again 👎🏻not a good experience I’m afraid..

My experience before the pandemic. I can't tell you if they've improved or not but here's my experience: Me and my friends ordered the same time. Her's came first which only took about 10 minutes, this was fine as we had different dishes. Shae wanted to wait fo mine before starting but after 10 minutes she had to start eating as her meal was getting cold. I still had nothing. When 20 minutes passed I asked how long until I can expect my order and the front house waitresses didn't know or give a rough estimate (they were polite and appoligised). 40 minutes had passed, I finally got my meal (50 minutes for a Mushroom Tagliatelle and 10 minutes for a Bolognese?!) My friend finished hers way before that. Next issue: there were no folks visable. When I asked if they had any folks, the waiter rudly said "they are in the holder!" We both told him we looked and couldnt find anything (was overpacked with spoons). He tipped the utensils holder upside down shaking it's contents all over our table to find 1 folk burrided in a mass of spoons. He walked off with no apology or explanation of his attitude. An innocent mastake on our part, we didn't deserve that. We were not pushy, we were actually generously patient considering the bad experience we already were experiencing. Food was delicious despite the overall organisation and this restaurant seriously lacks time management and/or staff. Sadly will never dine nor recommend to a friend due to this single experience being so terrible.

My wife and I chose a full English breakfast, but it turned out to be a bad choice. The bacon was overcooked, the sausage was tasteless, the mushrooms were tinned and the grilled tomato was basically a wet skin. I would not recommend this establishment...

One star for friendly staff but the food was awful warm tasteless tuna baguette with a one dried tomatoes, and a lifeless piece of lettuce on the plate with a added piece of cling film in the tuna, and a hair in my daughters bacon and avocado baguette, over priced as well.

Me and a friend attended to this restaurant yesterday where my fiend had raw chicken in her panini, she then had a bacon and cheese panini and the bacon was solid, she is now very sick because of the chicken, I will not be going...

The food was awful and completely overpriced. The chicken was not fresh, the pasta was overcooked and tasteless, the pizza was soggy and saturated with oil and we never got the water we asked for. Would never go back again.

I usually eat here when shopping in Brighton. I often have their full English or chicken caesar salad. There's a good selection of baguettes, a varied menu. Theres always a good welcome and the staff are very pleasant. They do a 10% off loyalty card.

Staff were lovely but the pizza I ordered was inedible. Raw dough in the middle. Coffee was good. I doubt I’ll go back……..

Staff were very friendly. My friends all enjoyed their food but none of them had a ordered a pizza. I had the Pepperoni pizza they do, what was brought out was a pizza that had 5 slices of very heavily seasoned and smoked salami, only 5 and very salty, the dough itself was very salty and the pizza was absolutely smothered with oregano, it was the only thing I could taste.

Popped in for breakfast with my son. Nice selection of food, the breakfast was a nice size. Service was good but not outstanding. For the price we paid everything was quite acceptable.

The food here isn't up to my standards the chips aren't nice , the burger had no favour or sauces like ketchup or mayonnaise , the jacket potato was warm and dry and tuna was bland no butter on jacket not worth the price ,was very disappointing place to eat , will not be eating here again

Fui al restaurante hoy después de comprar en Brighton, mi amigo y yo comimos una pizza y el aceite se estaba filtrando a pesar de que ya había un charco enorme en la parte superior, era súper delgado, sin necesidad de la base de la pizza también podría simplemente me había dado una caja de aceite de girasol. Solo se comieron 2 rodajas y se mojaron. El batido estaba increíblemente lleno de grumos. Mi otro amigo tenía un queso de macarrones y dijo que era básicamente mostaza francesa en un plato. Fui a McDonalds después y tenía mejor servicio y comida, aunque es más barato y "comida rápida". Para mí un DESPERDICIO DE 20.
