Arrived at 7.15. Only ordered a main initially. Waiter wasn't very friendly. Hardly spoke, didn't smile, didn't seem to know the menu at all. He looked over my shoulder to spell spaghetti pomodorra!!! Food arrived and was good, although no-one cane to ask.us if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks. At 8.35, (a good 30 mins after we had finished our meal) I called the waiter over to ask him to clear the table and ask if we could order desserts. He said kitchen was now closed, despite most of the tables around us still waiting for starters or mains. Website says restaurant us open until 10pm. Not good when this connected to a 4star hotel. We could easily have left without paying and no-one would have noticed. The barman/maitre d spent most of his time looking at his mobile phone!

Ordered spaghetti Bolognese which was delicious. You can eat indoors or outdoors. Outdoor tables are small and generally for 2 but you can grab a chair from an other table.

We ordered couple of starters and then mains. First of all our starters arrived on appallingly dirty plates. We then waited for a while for our mains. It felt like the restaurant was short of staff, although it wasn't very busy. One of the mains was way too salty and my wife couldn't eat it and asked for something else. She didn't complain, but to my big surprise no one even asked if anything was wrong with that main. The plate was untouched and they just took it back to the kitchen!!! Child's main arrived without garlic bread and even though we asked for it - never got it! the waiting time was long as well so we decided to skip the desserts and go elsewhere. Pizza was nice! It's a shame really because the place looks good and the music was pleasant...

It's supposed to be Italian, it's nothing more than a low rate hotel lounge/bar. Most of the tables crammed in this small space are for 2 people. The attitude of the staff was couldn't care less, Left us for so long. Unhelpful. We made a request if we could move tables, was told do what you want. Any question we asked about the food, they had no answers. The menu is absent, vague and misleading. We weren't given enough menu's. Soup of the day, dessert of the day, cake of the day = ask your server (who will have no idea) Sadly the food was excellent in this frustrating chaos. Back to the service, no parmesan or black pepper. We asked for it which caused another issue as the hotel staff had no idea. Other diners had a long wait and we saw other parties give up and leave. Music was on a loop, we heard the same pop/techno song 3 times. Didn't add to the 'italian' feel. We were ignored for long periods of time whilst clearing empty tables were a priority. We ordered at the bar in the end where we were lied to saying the kitchen had shut as the chef had left at 8.15pm. (Way before the advertised closing time) The tirimasu had to be 'put together.' (The tirimasu appeared later and it clearly came out of a box) The only time staff came to us was to ignore the issues and ask repetitive questions which we'd already answered and they'd written down. Watch the menu, ice cream is priced by the scoop, the sorbet isn't. We had one scoop priced at £6.75. A rip off. We came in at 6.30pm and was trying to get out by 8.50pm for a taxi booked to catch a train. We were still fighting to order dessert at 8.25pm. As soon as we got dessert, we asked for the bill, we explained the hurry and we were promised this would be done. We rushed the dessert, one had no cutlery. We had to find the member of staff who had promised us the bill, he was serving other customers at the bar. Trying to pay, the card machine run out of paper. 12 minutes to get back to our hotel for the taxi booking. I thoroughly regret spending precious family time being treated like this. It was stressful.

We wanted a snack and opted for cheese and biscuits for 2 people with a bottle of red. The Italian Cafe was very bright and stark with no candles on the tables so the atmosphere was flat. However, the staff were very attentive, just needs a rethink of the ambience it is creating. It could be a lovely space if it was given more thought to the decour etc.

Awful. One other couple in there yet took 40 minutes to be served. Then pizza was l undercooked dough with very little topping. Calzone was the same with frozen chopped ham and chicken, undercooked dough and no tomato sauce inside.

We stayed at the Ocean Beach Hotel and we had vouchers for the restaurant on the first night. Myself and my wife both adore Italian cuisine and we absolutely loved the food, it was some of the nicest Italian food we have had for a while. It was so good we opted against eating out on our second night and ate here again. The staff were friendly and helpful and they provided our 1 year old daughter a big bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese free of charge. In fairness, this was the major bonus of the hotel and was the main reason that my hotel reveiw was more positive. When we return to Bournemouth, we will happily eat here again.

I went with my friends for a quick lunch. Staffs were very friendly especially Nora and Paris. We had a wonderful time. Food was delicious. I would definitely recommend to go and there will be a comeback.

Just visited this evening with my friend, we thought we would try them out as now's the best time to go as they are named on the government list as taking part in help to eat out scheme. Just living around the corner we wanted to support our local business. We booked a table a day in advance. We ordered pint of Peroni and a pint of Carlsberg and two pizzas and an extra topping each. I have to say we both really enjoyed the Pizzas, just a shame they were cold. We waited for someone to come over and ask "is everything ok with your food " but nobody did. We then finished our beers and went to the bar to pay for our bill. The manager prints off our bill and shows £34 😱😱😱 I said to her is that with the discount, to which she went back to the till and printed another bill and came back this time with a revised bill of £24. Firstly Your on the official government website as taking part in the scheme so if we said nothing you would have charged the full amount.The thing is the government will be covering the 50% off so your not losing out and sadly we will not return here.If you are eating here you shouldn't have to but you need to ask them for the discount!!!

Came here for our beloved friend’s Birthday on a Tuesday night. We were welcomed, got seated, offered drinks, menus- everything going smooth. A loud Prosecco pop made us feel like we have come to a great place, never mind the good music coming through the speakers! The starters came and it was a delicious and eye catching surprise- seafood platter with tempura prawns, king prawns and squid rings were just lovely, definitely a good start to a great dinner! Also the naans and olives along with some sun-dried tomatoes! Downside- missing cutlery and no one seemed to think of bringing plates out. Next the mains- wow! Let me just say we were all I love from the first bites. Vegetable lasagna was hands down the best lasagne I have ever had! So rich and creamy with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, a great selection of vegetables including peppers and mushrooms- well done to the Chef! All of us were enjoying our food and having a great laugh it just seemed that the staff were half asleep... After finishing our mains we were sat chatting sipping our drinks and even though the staff passed our table at least 7/8 times seemed like no one noticed the used empty plates in front of us. Rather than cleaning our table they were slowly starting to set the rest of the tables. As we saw that there was only our and another table, it wasn’t busy so they couldn’t blame it on not having enough staff, 2 waiters walking around from one side to the other and passing by, yet neither of them came to clean it and free some space. Up until the moment when a Birthday cake was brought out with a song no one approached us. Shame there was no cutlery to eat the cake with and we had to get up and find a spoon from a tray next to the bar... Amazing job to chefs Alex and Noelia - you both deserve a medal for the delicious food! Staff- wake up! You can do so much better than that! We will definitely be returning, thank you!

Starter abysmal, cold tinned mushrooms on bread. Guess it was supposed to be toast, with some grated cheese on top. The Calimari was poor, rubbery and cheap. The pepper was actually the type you shake from a cellar, no milled fresh pepper as you would expect. Main of pasta was uninspiring but the best meal out of a bad bunch until my Wife found a hair in it. My main was veal on the bone submerged in a pool of superheated tomato and polenta sauce, which tasted overheated and needed a ladle. However it at least did its job of obscuring the poor piece of meat. The table next to us did ask was the chef on day off, TBH anyone off the street could knocked this excuse for a meal up. Even the Peroni was barely cold enough. The place is tired and run down from the coffee machine, the splatter on the walls and dog eared menus. It's an establishment on the slide. Avoid at all costs even if you are given a Groupon voucher. It's not worth it.

We came here 3 weeks ago after being brought a meal from a close friend. The restaurant wasn’t busy for a Friday evening and the waiter ignored us once he gave us our menus. We asked to order drinks and we were made out as if we were putting him out. We noticed he took a few meals to wrong tables whilst we waited for our food. My partner had a pizza which came out before my food and they told me mine would be another 10 minutes, my partner asked if his food could be kept warm as we wanted to eat together, again we got a very unfriendly response, but they did it. We got the food together about 20 minutes later. My partner’s pizza came back burnt and with hardly and of the toppings he had asked for on and he said it didn’t taste nice at all. I had a the Rigatoni Carbonara which didn't taste right, it was extremely oily and the pork cheek was fatty and greasy. I ate just under half of the pasta without any of the sauce or cheek as I was so hungry. We asked to speak to the waiter and said unfortunately we weren’t very happy with our food. He asked if we wanted to order something else and we said we would rather get our money back please and find somewhere else. He then seemed angry and said “if it was that bad why did you eat it then?”. I tried to explain I had a bit of the dry pasta as I was hungry after waiting for 35 minutes for our dinner. He stormed off. We then asked to speak to the manager. The manager listened to our experience and then rudely said they would not refund the pasta dish as a bit of the pasta had been eaten and they offered us more food but we refused. Each member of staff we came across was extremely rude, the food was awful and the general service was extremely poor. They didn’t give us our money back as my friend brought it through Groupon and told us that they would tell them we ate one of the meals. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Both us of felt quite unwell not too long after the food too. Avoid!!

Had an evening meal here with my niece, her partner, 3yo and 5 month old. Slow service, not attentive just one waiter on who was also serving behind the hotel bar. Garlic and cheese bread starter nice. My chicken in mushroom sauce was really very good and the other two had a rib eye which they said was good also. The toddler had sausage and chips off children’s menu. When it arrived we couldn’t even cut through the sausages with a knife they were So overcooked/dried out. By the time meal was replaced we had finished ours and he wouldn’t sit still to eat his so it was a waste of money and he stayed hungry. Overall though not too bad.

I have had lunch here on 2 previous occasions and have really praised the food and the experience in the past (see previous reviews) but sadly things have greatly declined over the past couple of years! A booking for 2 for lunch today @ 12:00. On arrival the receptionist invited us into the bar area - eternal wait to be seated and was ignored by young waiter (who had only been in country 3 days and spoke very little English!) The receptionist then came back to tell us to take any seat in an otherwise empty restaurant. No menus on table - had to get our own menus from the stack of menus and seated ourselves. 30 minutes later and still no-one had come to our table for a drink or food order! Receptionist apologised and said she had told the manager. Food and drink ordered. Starters took 30 minutes to arrive (one hour wait from our 12:00 reservation) but we were entertained by a cleaner who for some God-forsaken reason decided to hoover the restaurant and in particular around our table (beyond bewildered! NEVER have I experienced this before!), and then a coach load of visitors arrived! Starters were no where near as good as I have had from here before - Fried calamari, salmon and avocado - very disappointed as several of the ingredients were not very fresh! Even more disappointed with the main meals - spaghetti with meatballs, seafood fetucini - nothing subtle about these meals and again no where near what I was expecting from the restaurant compared to what I have had here before. TBH I have had a dodgy tummy since! Yes, this was Groupon, but after 2 very good Groupon meals here in the past, I will most definitely not be coming back! Very, very disappointed with the entire experience and embarrassed in front of my guest!

I didn’t stay at the hotel, I had a groupon gift voucher for the Italian restaurant. On arrival was told there was no record of my booking a table. The restaurant was empty, we were reluctantly shown to a table. On questioning what we were entitled too on the menu the restaurant manager came to speak to us asking ( so what are your issues)? He said as there was a private party downstairs our booking shouldn’t have been taken so just be aware the service will be slow!! I’ll keep this short now. Most of the food when eventually arrived was cold and inedible Some was sent back to the kitchen but was no better when it came back out. Please save your money, there are so many better places to eat. It’s a shame my friend wasted hers on a gift for me here.

Muy decepcionado con nuestra visita aquí para el almuerzo. Habíamos reservado una mesa por teléfono, pero a la llegada no había constancia de una reserva. El restaurante estaba totalmente vacío (mala señal), así que nos sentamos a mirar los menús. Elegimos este lugar porque el sitio web anunciaba varios descuentos: 30% de descuento en la factura de alimentos un jueves cuando fuimos. Los menús que nos entregaron también anunciaban este descuento, pero algunos de ellos tenían la oferta bloqueada y otros no. Cuestionamos esto con el "Administrador de tareas" que desapareció durante unos minutos para verificar. Volvió a decir que la oferta ya no estaba disponible. Dijo que era nuevo en el hotel y era griego (¡no era exactamente un italiano auténtico entonces!). Cuando explicamos que habíamos reservado en base al descuento, se disculpó pero dijo que no lo honraría. Nuestros 2 hijos ya habían comenzado a tomar sus bebidas, así que nos quedamos el tiempo suficiente para que los terminaran y le explicamos al gerente que nos íbamos a otro lado: sentimos que en un restaurante vacío se habrían alegrado del negocio pero ni siquiera se molestaron. ! ! !Creo que esperábamos que se disculparan con nosotros por nuestros inconvenientes y que les permitieran a los niños sus jugos en la casa: ¡mi padre de 78 años fue perseguido y amenazado si no pagaba los 3! ! ! !Su pérdida cuando encontramos otro restaurante italiano a 1/2 milla de distancia con un gerente increíblemente amable y servicial, excelente comida y muchas mesas ocupadas.¡Nunca volveremos a este hotel en mal estado y mal administrado!

The three stars are for the staff, all so friendly and helpful, and the gorgeous views from the terrace. Sadly we found the food to be very average and the menu limited. The hotel is very dated and in urgent need of some TLC

Attractive place and nice Italian food, the waitress was very friendly and good, reasonalbe choice of wines. I had a simple Spagetti with meat balls but it was very good !

My wife & I dined here whilst staying at The Cumberland Hotel (same group), we enjoyed the meal, the staff were very good, the food was tasty and well priced, the wine list was reasonable value for money, overall a positive experience.

Although they couldn't find our reservation, the staff were very welcoming and soon found us a table - in fact they offered us a choice of available tables. We were made to wait longer than expected before we could order drinks and food, but once ordered it came in very good time, but not rushed.

Had dinner at this restaurant. Went on a Monday night so if you bought one pasta dish got another free. Also a good deal on cocktails. Staff very friendly and attentive and food was excellent.

Hopeless system. Booked restaurant through Open Table website. Booking confirmed and then we find out just before our booking that they are closed on the night we booked!!!! Need to get their act together!

Went here as part of our escape weekend. Was expecting just another Italian “style” restaurant but the food was very authentic and on point.

We come here regularly as we live locally. The team are lovely. They remember you and make you feel welcome. The food is excellent, fresh and well cooked. Vulcano pizza with fries and salad for me. Ice cream is delicious. Highly recommended.

The service was good. We found the food expensive but the pizza and calzone were obviously fresh and very tasty. The spatchcock chicken however was a huge disappointment! Very expensive for very little quantity, over cooked chicken and microwaved potatoes. 3 tiny carrots does not constitute a portion of vegetables! Also, not nearly enough to feed an adult and far far less than the kids meal portions which were very generous to the point of being wasteful.

Italian food made like it is in Italy is often difficult to find in other countries, mainly because the heavy sauce based pasta you usually get isn't actually authentic Italian at all, it's an anglicised version and you wouldn't dare find such a thing in Italy.

Very very poor experience. Service was shambolic and the Restaurant Manager seemed less capable than the competent young girl working behind the bar. Food was poor quality and not hot and despite repeatedly asking for missing drinks, missing side orders, the bill, my coat .... the service just didn’t improve and the staff were aimlessly chasing their tails.<br /><br />Bitterly disappointed!

Things went badly from the outset and no food course was satisfactory. I felt sorry for the front of house staff trying to cope with the problems, they did their best.

The menu and service never fails.. Fresh ingredients make the meal. Luigi&#039;s is always our first choice for family and special intimate meals.

Two of us arrived late but this didn&#039;t impact on anything as the rest of the table had ordered drinks and some breads and olives. We all ordered from the main menu and I was a bit disappointed that some of the more expensive mains didn&#039;t come with side dishes as standard. This is all part of a growing trend in Aberdeen to charge a premium for the meat and then boost the profit by charging for veg. The food was of a good standard and the service was good although there was a 20min delay announced after we ordered. The restaurant didn&#039;t look that busy to us so we were left thinking it was due to something we had ordered. The staff made a point of marking the wife&#039;s birthday which was nice and appreciated. Overall would I go back yes but I would consider the variety of options available for the same outlay first

Nice friendly staff. Meal was extremely tasty. Child friendly. We have been to Luigis a few times now and we will be back.

My family (two adults and three children) wanted to have a meal out that everyone would enjoy. Luigi&#039;s had a menu that had something for everyone. The service was very good and the food was excellent. no complaints from anyone, everyone enjoyed it.

Luigis didn&#039;t receive my booking through open table and I was the second one that might. But Neil the manager was very helpful and got a table put together and couldn&#039;t be more helpful x

We booked for a family of 6 and had a wonderful meal with wonderful service. All our party ordered different meal options and all were exceptional. We would definately return. Staff and service was wonderful, friendly although professional.

Food was poor. Burgers were rubbery. Minestrone was awful. Service was very slow. This is the second time we have been here in 4 weeks. We came because there was special offer of pay one main meal and get one free. First time the bill came and it wias the full price, they did change it after we said. But the second time same thing. Its a dusgrace put an offer and then try to cheat people. Will not be back and will make sure none of our friend visit either.

Service and atmosphere were good, unfortunately 2 people from our party were ill day after meal after they both had beef medallions.

First time here for a lot of years, we booked for our 24th anniversary and what a great choice it turned out to be. The service from start to finish was excellent and the knowledge of the menu by all the waiting team was impressive. The choice of dishes was extensive and the presentation was excellent. Great service, great menu, great choice (by me)

Service and food great as always .... until the desert. Two out of the three were the usual great food but the third &quot;Meringue Delight&quot; was certainly not a delight. The cream and fruit was ok but the meringue was a round of concrete . Not even able to cut it with a knife or fork! It was so hard it wouldn&#039;t even crack! We pointed this our to the Waitress and she went to mention it to chef... response was that it was supposed to a pavlova type of desert. NOT... a pavlova is a crisp outside with a soft middle with a &#039;basin&#039; form for the fruit and cream to rest into and ALL of it is meant to be eaten. My husband was so looking forward to his desert and was bitterly disappointed jut to end up with cream and fruit. NB no offer of a refund was made and I feel that this together with the response from the kitchen is just not good enough for Liugi&#039;s.

We were given vouchers for our anniversary and it was the first time we had visited Luigi&#039;s. It was an excellent choice. The food was fantastic and the steak we had was a the best we have had for a very long time. The service was very good with plenty of waiters available if you required anything, without them being intrusive. I would recommend Luigi&#039;s to everyone and we will certainly be back.

Although we booked and had confirmation of the booking, on arrival they had no reservation. In the end we were stuck into a corner not very nice. I will think again before booking again with yourselves.

We went as a group of 4 friends to Luigi&#039;s on a Saturday evening. The hotel was very busy but the restaurant was an oasis of calm. There were enough people to create an atmosphere but it was quiet enough to enjoy our conversation. We opened our meals with starters of pate, goats cheese with beetroot and a broth and followed up with main courses of Jacobbs Ladder, a lasagne and a chicken risotto. The goats cheese with beetroot was rather short on the goats cheese and too heavy on the beetroot and there were not enough vegetables with the Jacobbs Ladder however that being said everyone enjoyed their meals with one particularly fussy diner stating it was the best lasagne she had ever had. The restaurant staff were friendly, efficient and approachable. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent meal to celebrate a friend&#039;s birthday. Very good service. A little alarming that my online booking had not transferred to the restaurant booking sheet - thankfully they were still able to accommodate us.

Food was delicious and excellent value for money. Service was really good would highly recommend and will definately be going back!!

Restaurant certainly lived up to it&#039;s reputation. Lovely meal,nice atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Will look forward to our next visit.

Our first time at Luigi&#039;s.<br /><br />We had the fixed menu for Valentines, though the regular menu was also available. The food was excellent, not too much so we were each able to consume most of our 3 courses and come away not feeling uncomfortable.<br /><br />I now want to go back again to try the broader regular menu - a great selection and if the Valentines meal is anything to go on we will be happy to become repeat customers.<br /><br />A real gem and very convenient for us as we only had to come from Elrick.

Decided to come here last Saturday night being a lovely evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food,service and the staff were excellent.

Can&#039;t fault the food or service. The staff were attentive but not overly so. The food was well presented, hot and extremely delicious. We will definitely be back.

This was our second visit and really, we have no complaints. Nice setting, the service was excellent and the food was very good. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our precious time together in the little &quot;booth&quot;.

The service was good but the food was disappointing. I had heard good things about this restaurant but the spaghettit meatballs looked and tasted like something from a cheap tomatot sauce with low price meatballs. And it didn&#039;t taste like fresh pasta but maybe that was the sloppy sauces fault. The wine wasnt very nice and wasnt thag cold. My boyfriend asked for a flat white but we both received bowls of horrible coffee. I would go back as it&#039;s local to where I livelive and maybe try something else but wouldn&#039;t recommend it just yet.

Right from the start the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. There was plenty of variety on the menu and it all tasted amazing. I will definitely be returning.

Luigis restaurant at Westhill was absolutely flawless. We had friends for weekend and from personal recommendation decided to go to Westhil rather than Aberdeen and boy were we pleased. Fantastic waiters first class service and the most delicious food ever. There were four of us and we all had something different everyone loved the food. We will definitely be back soon.

Busy therefore a bit slow in receiving food. Staff very nice and accommodating. Food a bit bland but not bad value for money. Good decor and ambience but food just needs to improve a bit.

We ordered chicken parmigiano and it was awful. The tomato sauce tasted like tomato soup and was particularly tasteless. The chicken piece was huge but again the flesh and breadcrumbs had no flavour. Had the sauce been OK it might have been a different story. We had recommended it because of good reviews from other people and were embarrassed at how bad it was. The other couple struggled with theirs which seems to be seafood and rice swimming watery juice....

After a nice warm welcome, we were given complimentary bread and oils. I ordered the Pesce Pizza which was superb, full of flavour and a generous portion.

First time we had gone to Luigi&#039;s and we arrived with high hopes. We were very pleased with our sharing fish platter for the first course - especially the oysters. But that is when it all started to go downhill. My husband had fish which was as dry as a bone and no sauce to help. I had guinea fowl which was also as dry as a bone. The desert platter was ok, but thats all ok - it was things I could have easily made at home. Again the trio of deserts were dry with no sauce to help things slip down.<br /><br />The bill was high, indeed much higher than we would reckon to pay for a meal for two.<br /><br />It was a disappointing meal and we will not therefore be going back.

Great food, great company with a table for two with my son. The fixed menu along with 20% off because my son is a member of the gym, made it extraordinary value for money. will definitely be back.

Staff lovely and service great but food let them down. Starter excellent but both my husband and I had the risotto for main course and did not eat it. It was thick and very stodgy and undoubtedly the worst risotto I have had. Really disappointing.

This meal was a treat for my birthday. The food was good, the service was OK. We were grateful to be on a table in a quiet corner as this restaurant is popular with larger parties. Beware the hen parties!
