Istanbul Kitchen and Bar in Bexley

Really enjoyed my first visit to the Istanbul Kitchen and taking advantage of the lunch time offer they have for 2 courses. Everything was delicious! The portions were generous and came with the additions of bread, salad and sauces. I think it was such good value, teamed with good, quick service. I'll definitely be back again.

Food was good a bit expensive tho

When Istanbul Kitchen first opened it was a refreshing change to Bexleyheath dining. Sadly the restaurant has declined although the service has not. Attentive staff make it work. The lamb was tough and hard to chew which marred the enjoyment, pity

Nice atmosphere and service but food is one of the worst which I had in restaurant. Spend £60 and left restaurant hungry. Highly not recommended.

Booked for 7:30 on Saturday night by which time the restaurant had the noise and clamour of a factory canteen. Between the pumping club music and the tightly-spaced tables you need to be prepared to shout at your friends just to make yourself heard across the table. Food was good but no substitutes permitted from what was offered on the menu. The food was served very quickly, suggesting a high degree of preparation in advance but not enough service staff to cover the tables. Had to chase the waiter for additional orders and for the final bill (when the additional order failed to appear). Portions were a good size but the prices are bordering on what we paid for the same food in Dubai - should have been 1/3 lower.

They used to make minced meat doner instead of leaf doner. It had a strong bad smell. I don't know what they added to the chicken doner, but it also had a strong bad smell too. They only brought two types of appetizers and salad, and I didn't like any of them. Normally, I would giveit one star, but the waiters were polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. The most annoying thing was that they charged 12.5% for service charges. I have never seen such a high charge anywhere in my life. I can say I was indirectly swindled.

Had a fantastic time, food was amazing and vibes were top tier. Ali, who served our table also provided an excellent service during our time there. Would definitely recommend.

You guys need to try the lentil soup here... it's amazing

Food was delicious and definitely satisfied our stomach's. Service took a bit long considering the restaurant wasn't too busy... Atmosphere was standard, nothing really special, they also celebrate birthdays too which is nice.

I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKED THE FOOD, HOWEVER A MEMBER OF STAFF WAS RUDE WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE STORE, WHICH IS A SHAME BECAUSE NO OTHER MEMBER OF STAFF WAS RUDE. I OPENED THE GLASS DOOR TO GO OUT AND THEN I FELT A HAND ON MY SHOULDER PUSHING ME I TURNED AROUND AND SAW IT WAS A MEMBER OF STAFF I AM NOT SURE WHY HE FELT THE NEED TO PUSH ME WHEN I WAS ALREADY LEAVING THE STORE. IT WAS SO RANDOM I WAS IN SHOCK WHEN HE DID IT, I CAME TO THE STORE WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS WE WERE LEAVING ALREADY THIS MAN STOOD BY THE DOOR AND RUDELY THOUGHT IT WAS HIS DUTY TO USHER THEM OUT. I WAS ACTUALLY THE FIRST PERSON TO MAKE MY WAY TO THE DOOR AND I OPENED IT I WAS JUST ABOUT TO OPEN THE SECOND GLASS DOOR WHICH IS THE EXIT DOOR WHEN I FELT HIS HAND PUSH ME IT WASN'T A HARD PUSH SO I IGNORED IT AND WALKED OUT BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS RUDE NEVERTHELESS, HE ALSO HAD BLACK INDUSTRIAL GLOVES ON I DON'T IF THEY WERE USE IN THE FOOD PREP OR FOR CLEANING, BUT IF THEY WERE HE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN TOUCHING ME WITH THEM.

I had dinner for the second time and I recommend the sisis.

Excellent authentic Turkish restaurant, bustling and busy environment, service was a bit slow, but the quality of the food more than made up for the slow service. Will definitely visit again 😄

We’ve eaten at the restaurant twice and had a home delivery twice now. The food has always been amazing. Unfortunately, we’ve just had a home delivery and the food is stone cold. Called to tell them and the person who took the call could not careless. The meal was £41 so not cheap. Very disappointed ☹️ Yes the meal was with yogurt but last time it turned up hot. I’ve had this meal before and the meat part of it was hot, not stone cold! You are omitting to mention that we also ordered a hot prawn dish which was also cold. You have not packaged the dishes correctly for home delivery. I would prefer my money back as this was very very unsatisfactory and your customer service disgusting quiet frankly.

Went to this restaurant this evening I've just moved to the area was so disgusting the owner and 2 workers refused to serve me and my 5 kids the place was empty and thay said sorry u haft to make a reservation 3 days in advance that's is just stupidy I will not be returning but my solicitor will be im so upset I've just moved to this area and decorating so went out for food to be refused is disgusting u will hear from my solicitor soon bad attitude Discriminating 2 of the kids r twins and r new born and he wouldn't even hold the door to let us out shame on u the owner and shame on ur rude staff

The four times that we have been here the food is always fresh and tasty. That’s why we always go back and we are very fussy with our food.Thank you

Very disappointing. Took 2 friends here with us, unable to get in our normal choice of restsurant, thought we would try it out. Having lived in Turkey, and my hubby is a Turk and a chef, we were excited to get some good food. First waiter ok, then another took our food order. Very loud in there, not ideal for a romantic meal, or a quire place. Bread, salad, dips etc brought to table, all very nice. Then came mains, 2 had ordered combination dish of chicken shish and adana kebab. What came was lamb shish and adana, not big worry, but order was wrong. Both didn't eat the adana, it was bland and very get dry. One other in our party had combination of chicken shish, and donner, this was ok. Mine, I ordered chicken Govec, this cooked in a earthenware dish in a oven, was to gave onions, aubergine, peppers potatoes inside. When it came, it was in a ceramic dish, not oven cooked, but pan fried, peppers, onions hard, not cooked enough, chicken ok, but totally tasteless. On their menu they have chicken tava, which us a pan fried option. When waiter called over by husband, as I said us a chef, and cooks these dishes, mentioned about my meal, we had ro laugh, he said yes mine was govec (not) as it has aubergines in? Didn't want to know, also was mentioned dryness of meat etc. So, I ate the chicken that's all, though tasteless, no sslt, pepper, seasoning in the Dish. The 2 adana kebsbs left also, requested doggie bag, our dog though has since appreciated the food from there 😄 Our guest were paying bill, a thank you to us, for staying at our home etc. They refused to pay the service charge. We will not visit again 😒 If you have not eaten these meals before, you may think they are ok. Who knows! But it's first time In 35 years I ever been so disappointed eating Turkush food. Husband was disgusted with it. Can't tick below, the what would we recommend, as nothing we ate was that good, honestly.

Delicious Food, quick service and value for money. BUT, we were served an additional two sides of Fries (chips) without asking for it. We took them thinking it was complementary or part of our original order since we had ordered lot of items, and it was an unpleasant surprise to see that we were charged for these fries! Apparently this is a known scam in Turkey, and disappointed to see it happens in London too! Be very careful when you order and do not take it for granted that the fries or other side dishes are free with your order (they will serve bread & salad for free!)

Our go to spot for a quick local munch for my little family! We love it here, the food is just spot on! Every now and then we would say we crave to come here! I always order the ribs, hubby orders the lamb chops and little one loves his little kids menu 😁 The best ever, very delicious. I love how we get offered their delicious Turkish sweets after, good customers service too. I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed!

We've been here many times and always enjoyed the food and service.

First time here with my son and we both had a great time. The staff was friendly and attentive. No waiting for orders or drinks. And most important the food was amazing!! Even took takeaway with left overs. That great my son and I will go back for our mum and son day every month.

I absolutely love their salads. Food is always tasty, fresh and the staff amazing. Two times I’ve been there out of a few we’ve coincidentally have ad a big birthday table. Very loud but if you’re sensitive to loud noise then just put your earphones or AirPods on. It gets louder but the foods worth it.

The food was absolutely awful, Donor Kebab was stale and tasted old which we did mention this to a member of staff, Would not return again, waste of money.

We had lahmacun and it was terrible. They were not fresh, obviously made earlier, cooked long ago and to make them hot, they were put in microwave and served. They were absolutely bad.

Big disappointment! We visited few times before but not this year though. Place definitely overpriced, especially drinks, £7.95 for mojito moctail( lemonade plus some ice cubes with few mint leaves!)It wasn’t even tasty!They used to serve big portions and lovely complimentary salad before your meal, not anymore! Salad was poor, iceberg lettuce with some tomatoes pieces and balsamic vinegar! A z5 year old could make better!only one piece of bread to share In between 3 of us. What happened to this place??It used to be lively welcoming place, always packed! Today- only few tables busy the rest of restaurant empty.I am not surprised.We paid £75 for :1 starter, 2 mains shush kebabs and one child meal, 1 beer and 1 moctail.Left tip of £7, total £82 for a disappointing dinner. Brought my friend here for a weekday meal as ive been a few times before and always had brilliant service and food . Tonight wasnt so good . I work in hospitallity so i no that dietry requirements and allerges are a must . But my dietry requirements were over looked and i was told nothing could be done . Not a happy customer so will not be re visiting such a shame

The service was terrible no smile no hello just rude, food over priced and very underwhelming, my main course came 20 minutes before my childrens I seen them put food on the plates then took it off then put it back on, my boys chips that was for there main came 10 minutes before there starters all in all just the worst experience of eating out in all my 48 years of life and they have a cheek to charge for a service charge

I ordered from the lunch menu. It used to be like £11.50 however with inflation it’s now £13. Nether the less I was able to get a starter and main. Bread and medium salad were included. Feta borek starter and chicken wings mains. I asked for my wings to be well done which is how I prefer them. I was stuffed by the end had to take a little home. Happy for the price and tasted good.

Booked my 60th birthday meal at this restaurant after reading the reviews. The reviews must have been from their family, the main dishes come with salad the salad is a bit of lettuce, the monkfish wasn't monkfish and it was cooked badly, the cocktails were watery and the Irish coffee was horrible. For the price I paid for my meal £82 was not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place, staff were not friendly.

Although my daughter has been here before it was my first time. A meal for a birthday treat. Good menu, pleasant staff, got a bit noisy later when place started to fill up. Liked the free appertizers. 2 of us had Halloumi & Sucuk as starters, well cooked and very tasty, good portion size. My daughter started with Patlican Ezme, looked nice and a fair size. I had the lamb guvec, really nice, well cooked, plenty of lamb. My daughter had Chicken Shish, fair size portion, looked great. Her partner went for the Chicken & Lamb Doner, again looked great and good portion. 3 Efes and a large white plus bottle of warer. £102. Fair price for the spread.

Beautiful f@#*ing BBQ. My fourth visit and this place is my new favorite. The food is so good, I like to get my hands dirty so I have gone for the lamb ribs or chicken wings when I have ordered so far. I must say they have been more divine each time. The staff seem really cool and welcoming, the place itself looks really clean, plus the food is the bo%=@cks. Love it guys thank you for the great food & service so far, I will be back again without a doubt.

My husband and I have just a fabulous meal celebrating our 41st anniversary. The service was wonderful and the food amazing. Will definitely be going back and looking to book my 60th birthday celebrations there. Definitely definitely recommend. Thank you.

This was such a lovely restaurant, had never tried Turkish food before so didn't know if I would like it but now I have I would come back to this place, food was so nice. Went for a family birthday party and the staff were really nice, played happy birthday and joined in when we all sung.

Authentic Turkish menu with a wide variety to suit anyone. Recommend Feta & Spinach Borek for starter. Lamb chops really flavoursome and add some chilli to the Chicken Tava for a bit of a kick to a flavoursome mains. Difficult to get a nice atmosphere...

We book a table for 6 for 2 families on Saturday and had a very pleasant dining experience. Bread and Salads were on the house, a lovely gesture. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the lamb dishes, which were very well cooked and full of flavours. The staff were very attentive and so friendly. Special thanks to Danny, Jay and Jo. If you want a quick taste meal I definitely recommend Istanbul. Good customer service, taste quality food and I love my strawberry 🍓 mojito. I went with my vegetarian, pescatarian and meat eatting friends, an everybody had something delicious to have! Great food

Ordered through deliveroo and a third of the meal was missing. Couldn't get through on the phone to talk to anyone so mother's day dinner effectively ruined. A shame as what we receive was nice just not a whole meal.

The missus and I visited on a Friday evening. It was heaving, mainly with Turkish families. There was also a birthday party. Great atmosphere, excellent food and efficient and friendly service. Top marks all round.
