Issa sushi hove in Worthing

Ordered online and didn’t receive our duck sushi. Initially made out we were lying and then insinuated it might have been the uber driver. We were told they would call us back but just got a voicemail eventually saying to speak to uber. Shame as I was looking forward to eating here. The food itself was underwhelming.. pad Thai was decent (hence the extra star) but everything was cold, small portion size on the fried chicken and this and the gyoza were very soggy.

Love this place! The food is amazing and always high standard. Reasonable prices. The staff is vey sweet and efficient. Highly recommend

Food here is decent, I feel like you get a decent amount for the cost lets be honest sushi is spenny. The drinks are good I really enjoy the soju wine type stuff they serve. The katsu curry is really great comfort food and you get a really decent portion. The desserts are nothing to write home about but it's nice to see some interesting options.

Recommendable place to eat within Worthing! The food isn't just great, its excellent! I had the Sashimi and Sushi together with it. Along with the customer service big kudos to the restaurants manager Lissa and Marta for the additional excellent service. In short, give Issa a try! It is worth it!

The food was great, flavourful, and authentic. The Tom Yum soup had a great balance of spiciness, sweetness, and tang but very few prawns. The garlic and basil squid stir fry was great, and the Katsu curry generously portioned and not overly sweet. The decor is lovely, and the service was fast. Being such a nice setting and having such a vast and authentic menu makes this restaurant stand out as the best Asian place in town. Service was fast and efficient but lacking some friendliness and warmth to earn 5 stars. Overall, it is definitely one of the best spots in town and worth checking out.

This is such a good restaurant. The food is amazing and so fresh and tasty. There's a good mixture of sushi, bento boxes, ramen and curries and more. It's great value and the staff are kind and welcoming. We will be returning again soon.

We ordered a selection of dishes for the menu and shared them between 3. We also had another 3 dishes but we ate them before I got a picture! 😆 The prawn and the crab sushi was the best sushi I'd ever taken! X

Went here years ago and then again recently. Id forgotten how great this place is. Pretty sure this is the best place for Asian food in town. Tell tale for me is always the batter. Here it's light and dry not thick and greasy like some places. My wife loved the sushi. Presentation was great. Also the food prep is on display immediately as you walk in. Everything always fresh. Staff were also wonderful, going over and above. Will be going back sooner rather than later.

One of my all time favourite restaurants not only in Worthing but anywhere! Consistently fantastic food, with a wide variety of dishes and pan-Asian cuisine to choose from (apps, sushi, ramen, stir fry, bento boxes). The service is always friendly and personal. Great prices for such quality! I can see why they won best Japanese restaurant awards!

Every time we have been to Issa, absolutely everything has been fantastic. We've had various sushi rolls, appetizers, Thai dishes, etc and it is all wonderful. The service is prompt, and friendly. Truly one of the best places to eat in West Sussex.

This restaurant sells both Japanese food and Thai food. We ordered a lot of food and they all tasted great. I especially fell in love with their sushi rolls. In terms of the convenience, they could provide better toilet facilities and the light interior was a bit too dim.😌😌

A truly poor example of a sushi restaurant, delivered by people who maybe overheard someone talking about sushi and thought they would try out opening a restaurant. Tempura batter with butter in it - great for making cakes, not so good for proper light, delicate coating you'd expect for tempura vegetables, a miso soup with egg in it, usually just tofu and wakame suffices for a delicious broth, uncrispy crispy duck as the signature dish, not much more to say about that. If your standard sushi experience is Itsu or maybe a Sainsbury's meal deal, then you might think this place is amazing. This was a wholly unsatisfying experience.

I ordered via Uber Eats and I wish I hadn't. The sushi is honestly the worst quality I have ever had. Where do I begin? The rice was soggy as if it had been watered. The rolls themselves were so poorly put together and the filling... what filling?! There was barely anything... the rice to filling ratio was seriously off. They had even padded it out with daikon. These people must be making a killing with the price of it! The crab was super greasy and smelled like it had been cooked in gone off oil.. and the miso aubergine was full of seeds. all the plates had seaweed strips strewn over and plenty of green tobiko eggs. For the price of this place I wouldn't put lime green dyed eggs all over what is supposed to be premium sushi. Never again! This is the Taco Bell of sushi.

Visited today for the first time and the food was amazing! The staff are polite and friendly, and received a warm welcome. Fantastic experience. Will be back again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ate here tonight for the first time for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. They were extremely attentive, welcoming and friendly. Will most definitely be returning!

The place is good, been going there since it opened. Noticed lately that the food is not as good as it used to be, more and more feels like it has been adapted to suit the local taste - huge bites, impossible to put in your mouth, mayonnaise sauces.....it no longer has that authentic fresh taste. I wonder if the time has come to look for other sushi restaurants in Worthing???

We recently visited Issa Sushi in Worthing and had a mixed experience. The quality of the fish is good , and the tempura being light and crispy. However, the Issa Dynamite dish was a mess and it just doesn't make any sense (see photo). It was supposed to be crispy tempura battered prawns, but they were drenched in a thick, sweet and spicy sauce that made the batter soggy and the prawns could not hold their shape, they were falling apart and it was just a soggy horrible mess. The rice was overcooked and mushy, not something I'd even serve myself at home. To top it off, I was given the wrong drink. The staff were friendly, but the overall experience wasn't satisfactory, and we likely won't return.

We go there for lunch and we like it but we were disappointed about the takeaway service. More often than not it is not available on deliveroo (or other platforms) and the one time it was on deliveroo we ordered for a specific time - couple hours ahead - and they decided to cancel after the delivery was due. We called the restaurant directly and they took our order but when we got there to collect it wasn't busy so confused as to why they cancelled earlier. In addition they decided to tell us it's cash only and they were quite rude about it - they could have told us earlier when we placed the order over the phone so we came prepared.

Everything we had was delicious! The Spicy Crab Ramen was outstanding!

I and my boyfriend came here for his birthday and everything here is AMAZING!!! We ordered Chef's Sashimi collection the fishes are so fresh and tasted like they just bring them from sea up to 😍 have to try this one. The Dragon roll delisiuos with the sause and O love the fish roe !! I like the decor of this restaurance aswell If you love sushi you have to try here when you come to Brighton. Will recommen for my friend and com back soon !!!

A really lovely little restaurant. The back room is delightful. I took my nieces there who are fussy about food and they could not get enough. My son's adore Suchi and consider themselves as quite knowledgeable in such matters and really rated the food. Friendly service too. Overall, I do like this place and would recommend it. You can go for a few plates if not hungry or a bigger variety if you are ravenous. Good value for money.

So often I walk out of sushi places having spent a fortune and still feel hungry...not so here! Great portion sizes, really reasonable prices (a rarity these days). Waitresses were really friendly and helpful. They mentioned it had been quiet recently so let's hope people start to realise this little gem is there!

I would have given this place six stars if I could. A lovely restaurant with a chic tropical vibe decor, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, they were very quick to come to our table when we were wanting more drinks and food. The food is absolutely amazing (I really loved the spicy tuna uramaki) and well priced considering dishes like sashimi tuna, a great place to go with a group of people who might like other cuisines, such as Thai. Nice and authentic Japanese food restaurant. Must try this out if you travel to Brighton & Hove. We missed the lunch time so no lunch meal available, but the food is still good enough. Service is good and helpful. Sashimi is fresh but the portion may be too less for a man.

Love this place, the bento box is my favourite. Lots of dishes to suit including sushi and also Thai. Even a singing waiter! Staff are very friendly, cheaper than Giggling Squid.

Was expecting great things - feels like a hotel bar/restaurant with no atmosphere. Too bright you could operate on an Alsatian, staff quite heavy handed during serving. Only 1 decent champagne on the menu and the actual menu is a little bit of everything so quite varied for different people - I had the crab linguine which was ok. Might be a better daytime restaurant then the evening had no drama to it. Shame really.

Delicious food & Great Service.

The owner was charming and spoke to me thankfully in Greek. Seating hard on the bottom like in Greece. But I was amazed at the size of the portion of Briam. £4 from memory. Tasted fine but Greeks normally are generous at least they are in Greece. I think the owner has lived in the UK too long and is used to our minuscule portions. So I have never been back even though I would have loved to have spoken more Greek.

The food is good. I am a ramen lover and it was decent. Spicy as well. Sushi was fresh and nicely presented. Tasty spring rolls. The menu is quite extensive so it took us a while to figure out what we wanted, there were Thai curries etc, so not just Japanese food. The restaurant itself was lacking atmosphere. The music was odd. It was completely empty despite being Sunday lunch. We were sat at the front of the restaurant and the staff kept coming in and out with deliveries which made it very cold and uncomfortable. The staff was polite and attentive. They asked if we needed any help ordering our food and also asked us how our meal was when we were eating. Another member of staff asked if we wanted to see the back of the restaurant which he had decorated. Toilets were clean. After we got the bill we realised we were overcharged with some incorrect drinks prices. This was rectified. I might come back for another ramen or sushi.

Really wanted to like this place but the food misses the mark. Beautiful atmosphere and great wait staff, but the dish I ordered (miso ramen) was so incredibly bland it didn't at all feel worth paying for. It wasn't gross and you could eat it but it was completely devoid of flavor, and despite having a "two spicy" label was very mild and not spicy or flavorful at all. "You could eat it" isnt exactly high praise and there are significantly better ramen options in town. The dish wasn't even served with chilli oil or anything to try and help bring some life to it. I may try this place again but would absolutely not reccomend the ramen.

Great food and great service, a large range of different stuff to try on the menu for a really good price, some of the nicest thai/Japanese food I have had in a long time, will definitely be coming back soon!

We came here the day after it opened, incredible food and incredible service - can’t wait to return!

I ended up going two days in a row! On the first day we ordered a Bento Box each, plenty of food and really good value. The next day I took my family, and had the ramen which was also delicious. They have a high chair so my young nephew was able to sit with us too!

Lovely welcome as soon as entered the restaurant. We had a take away ramen noodle soup, katsu chicken curry and the Kyoto sushi selection plate. It was amazing flavour and reasonable prices. Food was done quickly and packaged great. Definitely recommend and will be returning for sure.

Ordered sushi a few times. I thought I had found my go to place, unfortunately still looking. It has been inconsistent in terms of quality and I don't know if I want to order again and take a gamble. The sushi I got had soggy, stale prawn tempura and it was very packed with rice. Prawn tempura was awful, I took a closer look and it was very pale in colour and soggy. Bleh. I didn't run into this problem the last couple times I ordered this. The roll also missed an ingredient and came as 6 pieces instead of 8. I've ordered it a few times in the short time they've been open to know the difference. Fish tasted off and rice wasn't as fresh tasting. My partner had his dish and immediately asked me if I ordered from this restuarant because it was cheap, he said it wasn't good and didn't finish his meal. 3 stars because the other times were fine, but please check for quality control. Don't use old rice or old fish and prawn/anything tempura that has been sitting out, because your customers will know.

Beautiful place with amazing food and very welcoming lovely staff! I had the crab ramen and my partner had chicken pad Thai. Both were super deliciously cooked! We also had one asahi beer (on tap!), and a lovely glass of wine which I was given a selection of two to taste from! We will definitely be returning as there was lots more things on the menu that we would like to try!

Ordered the Tokyo bento set for delivery, and it was delicious! Tempura was crispy and really high quality sushi for a reasonable price, which is hard to find in this area.

If you haven't been here yet (just opened) definitely put this on your list of places to eat. The service is great, sushi is amazing (try the Kyoto set) and it's all very reasonably priced.
