Great place to eat in or Takeaway. Food cooked fresh daily . Good authentic jamaican food.

I've passed this place a number of times but never stopped. I decided to get some food here as it's the only West Indian takeaway on the strip. This place is a throwback to an original street food place you would find anywhere in the Caribbean. It's a bit awkward as there's a big table in the front and you can feel that you might be disturbing the guys when you walk in. However, this is not the case. service is excellent, and there is a wide display of food and sides. I got goat curry and rice and peas, and it was perfect. Well spiced and the flavours were all coming through. Portion size was good and not stuffed full of rice with a little bit of meat on the side. I got a large which definitely hit the spot so I was lucky not to order any sides as I was full. Great place to get food and I would say it's right up there if you want the real thing at a very reasonable price. I will be coming back.

Popped in on the off chance as fancied some Jerk chicken but was pleasantly surprised with the curried goat & fried chicken. Would highly recommend the food!!!

As a regular customer of Island favourite, I am always impressed with the great tasting foods, drinks and pastry available. There are vegetarian options and the meat is halal. The very very popular Saturday red peas soup has us all quing up to order, yum yum 😋 😋 Daddy Shines has also done very very very tasty foods for my daughter's 18th which everyone loves. Nice atmosphere too.

This place feels like where the locals gathered in mealtime and have good chats about everything or the politics on their TV. Nice vibe. Chef Kevin is friendly so as his customers. Food feels homemade. I like the jerk chicken, and the spicy carrots that was cooked with bonnet pepper. My friend liked their curry goat.

One of the best meal I've had in awhile. Garlic prawns with macaroni it was finger licking good.

The oxtail was not great because it tasted a bit sweet like sugar is added to it, very disappointing.

Absolutely incredible! Likely to be my "go to" spot in South London for Caribbean food. Can eat-in or takeaway. As other commenters noted, the portions are large and the menu prices are small. Please note that the menu prices in the photos shown are not up-to-date but it's just a 50p price difference. We had the goat curry with rice and peas, stew chicken with hard food, and then lamb and chicken patties. Curry and stew had tons of meat, patties did as well. Perhaps the best part of visiting this place was the proprietor. We forgot to get his name but he's the kindest guy ever and today service-oriented. He cooks himself and the restaurant and kitchen area are clean. It was comfortable to eat in here and it definitely had a positive neighborhood vibe. We will definitely be back!!! Tastes better than some food we had on vacation in Jamaica over a decade ago. Totally deserves all the positive reviews!

Nice food. Staff were very friendly when my partner and I visited there for the first time. We sat down in pleasant surroundings. The only knock back was that we found a part of a bottle lid in the food. The manager (I m not sure) came over and I believe would have replaced the meal but partner said it was ok. So from that I do think they are professional in how they address issues raised by their customers. I recommend the fruit drink very scrumptious.

Love it, great portions for a good price

I come here at least once a week which makes me a regular customer. If you want authentic Jamaican food this is the place to come. The food is fresh and well presented. The curry goat and rice and peas is excellent and the oxtail is an excellent choice too with fried plantain and the delicious coleslaw. The place is clean, reasonably priced and the customer service from the owner, his son and staff is attentive to customers and excellent.

Island Favourite is a homely welcoming environment with good food and friendly staff and customers. It has been my regular take away/dine in or just chill out ends for years. A nice slice of Jamaica 🇯🇲. The shop attracts a mix of customers from all walks of life and always has a good vibe.

By far the best jerk in town. I drive 7miles from my house to get this food. Strongly suggest if your near to try it out.
