Had my first meal from here last night, garlic chilli lamb, the lamb must have been the oldest lamb in Derbyshire, tough and full of gristle. Not the quality I expected.

Always a perfect flavourful curry and the staff are so lovely and accommodating.

Food was great, only place in town that can get a karahi right, would definitely recommend!

Flavourless and cold food. Ordered 3 curries, two of them looked and tasted the exact same. Tikka was gritty. Ended up ordering from somewhere else. Order was 30 minutes late

Order arrived earlier than expected which was good, ordered aLamb bhuna chicken rogan Josh and garlic naan, onion bhajis and mushrooms and garlic starters. All food was really tasty and hot lamb and chicken were so tender, delicious! Will definitely order again soon.

Everything slightly grey food wise. Bhajis very greasy. I’ve definitely had better. Thought I’d try as they have more than 4 stars. Very let down.

Fantastic, we've used ishmails quite a few times and had local delivery. The lamb Rogan Josh is fragrant & very tasty, the lamb is tender. Pilau rice & egg fried rice are very nice. Chicken korma is very nice & creamy. The onion bhajis are big & tasty, peshwari naan is nice & soft & a good size without being too sweet or too much coconut. Poppadum is a good size & crispy. Salad is fresh & mint raita nice. Curries are not oily, neither are the onion bhajis. Everything came hot & we reccomend Ishmails for quality food & decent sized portions.

I had fried chicken and chips , I know English meal, but it was just 6 chicken cubes and the chips were hard . Won’t be using them again !!!

Delicious food delivered promptly

The food here is absolutely delicious and as a takeaway, easily matches/beats any sit down indian restaurant in the area. Prices are typical for current cost of things and service on collection is always good. We’ve eaten from here several times so happily to make a recommendation. Only small grumble was last time the yoghurt and mint sauce that came with the mixed kebab/poppadoms tasted like toothpaste. Have had this before and it’s always been delicious like everything else so not sure what happened then. Other than that, will be eating from Ishmaels again and again.

Was delivered a bit late, but we were kept informed so not a problem at all. Food was delicious as always!

What an absolute joke of a place! The delivery Guy couldnt be arsed to get out his car and bring the food to our flat door when I have a child in bed and can hardly leave him in bed when he is just over 1 years old!!! And I spent iver £37 on an order! Avoid these at all costs !

The chicken tikka masala was lovely but we found the rice soggy and unable to eat it. My husband ordered a peshawari naan but received a cheese one that he couldn’t eat.

I’ve known Ishmail for many years and he is such a lovely guy, you are always greeted with a big smile and he is always friendly, as well as this his food is always really good, the quality for money is great and it’s the only place I will ever go to for curry and this takeaway definitely deserves more recognition.

6 pieces of chicken for nearly £10 is not it. I know we're in a cost of living crisis but really? This used to be a great place but has seriously gone down hill.

Decided to order for a change from regular Indian takeaway due to good reviews. Hot and on time but unfortunately hardly any meat and all sauce. The balti dish was nothing like a balti and just blended sauce and bland. 😩

this is my local Indian, so I suppose I am somewhat biased, however the food is great, the prices are good, the menu is varied and so I am happy.

Food was so salty I couldn't eat it but husband said his was ok, so I must have got the bad lot.

Order rung in at 18.16 still no food. Ishmails prioritising mess about customers while I have been patiently waiting hearkt 2 hours late. Ended up cancelling. Not prepared to eat curry over 1 hour later cold thanks!

The food arrived late and stone cold. The dishes only had 5 pieces of chicken.

The starter was very nice. The main had very little meat in it and seemed to have far too much sauce in comparison to the meat. And the chips were soggy and horrible
