Isaac's Cafe in Southampton

I would expect a station cafe with a high turnover to serve a decent coffee not charge a premium price for instant coffee. Its not difficult- even for decaf.

Bad customer service, very rude crew.Not family friendly at all. Food wise, average. Not worth the price. Will not try again

I brought a mocha and I watched as it was made and they had very obviously run out of hot chocolate powder as the server was scraping the tin to get the that was little left. However, instead of informing me to just get something else she proceeded to finish making the drink. It was also not mixed well and tasted like sh*t to be completely honest. I do not recommend this place as it is too expensive for the quality, I honestly would not pay anymore £1 for this so called “mocha” that I was served. The server was also busy talking on the phone while serving me and also while making my order which may be an explanation for the terrible quality of the product.

Absolutely disgusting the sausage roll tasted out of date and looked like poo, me and my girlfriend’s friends both spat it out and it made me feel poorly because of the taste! I do not recommend and stay as far away as possible

Ordered a large tea and a chocolate muffin. Muffin is listed as £2.45, Large tea I thought said £2.45, but didn't have my glasses on at the time to read the sign clearly. I was prepared to pay the £4.90 with a £5 note, but was told the price was £5.24 I assumed I had misread the sign, and paid by card instead. I also thought the tea was rather small for a large. Just before getting my train, I look back with my glasses on and see that the large tea is listed as being £2.45 Why did I pay 34p extra? Is your large tea really 12/16oz (cup lid size) If the prices I was charged are correct, then please update your prices sign. If the prices I was charged weren't correct, then what happened?

This is 2nd time we have had coffee at this Cafe. It`s the best coffee you can find on a train station. The staff are wonderful. You almost feel you`ve had a meal as the coffee is so delicious and really sets you up for the day. See you again when we journey from near Brighton.

Staff not aware that take away cups and lids don't fit , she gave a cup sleeve to small and I burnt my hand , leg because the sleeve compressed the heat and steam popped lid off , no apology or care given

Ordered 4 flat whites and a sausage roll. Was in a hurry as about to miss my train, the staff made the drinks and my order to perfection so efficiently! Coffee was perfect exactly what I needed for my journey and sausage rolls was warm and just right! Great job guys such a little hidden pleasant treat of a cafe at the station

Just had the must foul tasting cappuccino in my life , in fact after the first sip I decided to leave it. Unfortunately I had no time to take it back and try and get a refund so that’s money wasted. I had to leave this review as this isn’t the first bad experience here. The food is not fit for consumption either - please get some experienced staff on your kiosks 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Incident on 10th June 2023 at 12:30. Ordered a tea and it was filled to the brim with the lid not securely placed on the cup. I then proceeded to scald myself as I picked up the cup. There was no attempt to assist me or to see that I was okay. My thumb, index finger and middle finger on my right hand were scalded. I immediately pointed out that the lid had not been sealed. I asked for some cold water and was given lukewarm water in a cardboard cup. I asked for a first aid kit and was told they didn't have one. When I said that it was ridiculous that the girl was on her own and serving hot drinks with no first aid kit, that she shouldn't be working there if she wasn't given the relevant equipment to protect herself and other customers, she made a call and shortly afterwards gave me the first aid kit. It was a first kit that contained only plasters, triangular bandages and some burn gel. Wholly inadequate for a work kitchen. I applied the gel and eventually a colleague of hers came by and gave me ice in a money bag. I arrived at my destination and then went to a pharmacy to further treat my injuries with equipment that would help. My fingers and thumb have blistered. If the girl working on the counter was not trained to seal the lid on the cup, the company has been negligent in not training their staff and so are liable under the law of tort for the injury I sustained. If she had been trained, she was negligent, and the company is vicariously liable. I will be pursuing this with legal action for the injury I have suffered. In the meantime, use at your peril.

Absolutely appalling. I don’t write reviews but had to for this place. The sausage rolls was the worst sausage roll I’ve ever had. The sausage didn’t take like meat and the pastry was so dry and tough that it was like eating cardboard

Service was very slow and order had to be repeated a couple of times to the barrista and it was still wrong . Finally got the coffees and then we found the flat white had no milk?! Apparently you have to request milk... Not sure what they think a flat WHITE is! Trying to support small business but work is definitely needed on this.

The coffee was fine, but nothing to write home about. The server didn't affix the lid properly to the cup, so now I'm wearing it... great...

Whilst not lots of choice on veggie options, as the cafe is only small, I had a delicious toastie and hot chocolate, and the girl that served me was really lovely

After experiencing the more common train station cafes, this was the most welcome surprise. None of the usual train station cafes have veggie friendly, savoury, fresh snacks. Had a delicious home made sandwich and there were a fair few to choose from. Trying to get decent grub on a train journey normally is quite a challenge. This one made the journey bearable, grub wise. Oh, and they sell drinks in cans as opposed to plastic bottles- another plus!

Really helpful and polite, would highly recommend. Hot chocolate with marshmallow and received a lot of them. Klara really cheerful and energetic

My stop to Brighton, lovely food and service. What a lovely café pleasantly surprised!! My sausage bap was JUST right made my journey that little bit more pleasant

Very expensive and absolutely disgusting food. Bought a ‘chocolate’ muffin for £1.99 (as pictured). It did not taste the slightest bit like chocolate, instead it tasted like sweetener and as if it was a basic vanilla muffin. Me and my brother both binned majority of it as it tasted disgusting. I ordered a vanilla frappe for £2.99 and was given a half empty cup that did not taste at all like vanilla. The ice was not fully blended (as pictured) but was bareable if you imagine it to be an iced coffee instead. The prices are already horrific so to be given Such poor quality food and drink is disgusting. I would rather have paid for food in pumpkin or upper crust at the station as at least, even though it would still be expensive, it would be eatable! The young lady who served us was rude and did not show good customer service skills. She seemed like she just didn’t want to be there and didn’t care we were customers. It’s a shame!

What a lovely little cafe, and pleasingly not a chain. A very pleasant man served me and I got a really nice coffee (in a environmentally friendly cup) and a really tasty small pasty. Highly recommended.
