Irmak BBQ Dunstable in Central Bedfordshire

Asked to have the main course after starters but turned up all together so the Food was very cold and waitress was so moody and rude ! Won’t be going there again totally waste of money ☹️

Always a great experience when coming here. Staff are always friendly and the owners are both cool guys, I will continue to visit... Love this place

We had a table of 23 people attended for a 30th birthday party celebration. I would highly recommend this restaurant The food was great Fatima was very pleasant and was fully attentive (thank you) The side show was amazing 🤩

Don't like the fact that you have to go on your phone now to look at the menu. They make this place look nice but the food is not great at all. They brought us an uncooked starter and then refused to substitute it, insisting 'thats how it's meant to be' so only offered us a refund. The mains weren't great either, we left feeling hungry. I've had good experiences at this place before, but seems like it's going down hill now.

Good food and nice place. The meat is pretty generous and the side dishes are also tasty. I'm feeling a light to decent 8/10 on this one.

Happy days Fast forward 1 hour 45 minutes (after phoning to ask when it was coming) food turns up, driver just says here’s ur food no sorry it’s late. Still looking forward to my lovely romantic takeaway (which we get all the time… I am the true romantic me) Stone cold I mean stone cold!! I mean the salad was probably warmer) Phoned to say. they said sorry we are busy can get a fresh one to you as soon as we can!!! I mean come on wasn’t going to wait probably other hour to eat didn’t really want to eat at 10pm tonight!!! Didn’t even say sorry!!!! Also the cold food was on the very small side as per usual too. It’s a shame because I love the food from here, but after poor customer service and a long wait for cold food I will be using EFES BBQ (about 2 minutes drive away on the same road) from now which I hear is just as good if not better!!!!! So all in all Poor service cold food small portions Three things could have saved them from this bad review 1 tell me food was going to be a longer wait at time of order 2 offer a discount on next order or something along them lines 3 being polite on the phone Also told them on the phone I would leave bad reviews on all platforms to be told oh well If you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen!!

Great food, nice presentation, excellent employees filled with humour.

Food didn't have much flavour this time, has been better in past, drinks are good, most staff were friendly, it was cold and not given choice table when other people were. Wouldnt go back for special occasion.

So today I went for a birthday meal and was confronted by a 30 minute wait time for the starter and another 1 and a half hour waiting time for my main ( I entered the restaurant at 19:00 and ordered by 19:15 ). My starter was great although could’ve had a little more flavour ( Halloumi ). Once I recieved my main at around 20:45 I had lost my appetite and wasn’t very hungry but I ate my food anyway ( doner meat and chips ) it was the coldest thing I had ever had I thought it was fresh from the north Pole, my cucumber was warmer than the doner meat. When I tried to confront the waitress about the meat ( Name : Rebecca ) she tried to say to me that it was brought out hot even though It had been sat on the counter for a good 20 minutes before being served to me, I felt like this was condescending and rude as I tried to make a simple complaint and it felt like it wasn’t accepted ; when I asked for a takeaway box for my remaining chips I was given it but (as I went to the counter to pay as I had to because it was needed) they took all the plates and I didn’t get a chance to take my chips ! I also got charged a service fee after having the worst service ever 😆… furthermore, the manager ( Omar ) was also being rude to me by telling me my food wasn’t cold either and to my friend aswell. To conclude, I will not be coming back and I do not recommend going to Irmak. Sadly I have no photos for proof, Thankyou

I ordered for my family food and wasn't happy. I can understand it's weekend it's busy but it's not my problem🙂I pay money for that. First of all delivery was late for 30min!!!! Second I asked extra sauce I paid for that and I didn't get it😒

Service is incompetent- waiters hear the request or feedback and go stand in their position. Really poor reflection for what used to be a good restaurant Food has gone downhill - Bulgar rice eugh! Extremely dry, never had it like this. Was told couldn’t be replaced as it’s batch cooking😳😳. Was sent back and was told would take it off the bill but never did Found blonde hair in food, showed this to the staff. There was a lack of care from the staff. The ganoush was nice Restaurant now allows kids, no dj and music was poor. Atmosphere has declined. Not sure how you can justify the compulsory service charge 🧐 Regular customer since opening left embarrassed having taken friends and disappointed for the owners who were not on site Try effes up the road - always better cooked meat and rice

Good and tasty food. One of the better places in Dunstable, food and salads fresh. The wrap could be grilled to make it crispy, so that the sauces would not soak into it.

I have order from them a few time and it’s usually good and on time but something must have changed recently because the last 2 orders have been disappointing it was nearly 50mins late and the food was cold.

Ordered take out. Chicken beyti. Very plain boiled rice, no seasoning, Slightly small portions on the mixed kebab. Cheese pastry was a bit dry. Bit disappointing all round.

Had ordered it many times. This time I was disappointed with quality of meat. Chicken kofte not sure what happened to it but was missing half or at least 1/3 of it Chicken shish was really dry and pieces was two times smaller than usual Chicken wings average compared to past orders Chicken doner it didn’t taste good and looked like it was steamed.. Garlic sauce I don’t know what they changed to it (maybe mayo) but didn’t taste good at all.. Salad, chips, bread, spicy sauce and rice no complaining 🙂 I hope you won’t be disappointed anymore

The food we did have, very tasty. Sadly the portion sizes for a £9 chicken shish are very small. The portion sizes for a donner, chicken or lamb, are great.

Food is OK but lacks flavour and usually very dry. Service is outright rude, they feel like they are doing you a favour when serving you.

Great tasty food, always a first class service

Would have been a 5* review but the cons were. 1. Being told thier policy Is only 1 glass of tap water. We did get 2 after complaining its a very hot day. I am a diabetic so do not drink soft drinks. 2. The owners/main workers need to be a bit more friendly and be a bit more customer focused. Pros. Our waiter was good and friendly. The food was very nice. I don't normally like chicken doner but this was the best I had. Lamb doner could have been the the nicer lamb instead of the cheap one. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean.

Food and presentation was good however shisha was Rubbish tasted only coal no flavour Infact all the flavour would smoke the same £60 just for 2 shisha was rip off.

Me and my extended family are a big time fan of Irmak Lounge. We all have visited it several times and found food, service and ambience exceptional. We went there for Eid celebration which also coincided with the birthday of my nephew. Food is always the best, we all enjoyed it thoroughly. However, I agree with other reviewers that prices a bit on the higher side, especially of the mocktails. In addition, when we requested table water, this was refused. So, we needed to buy expensive mocktail

Ordered another takeaway this evening, my hubby had the mixed doner meat and said it was delicious. Me and my son (11) LOVE the halloumi, it’s so yummy and cooked so well. We also had rice, salad and bread, all brilliantly cooked and tasted so great. Highly recommend.

Irmak has an amazing set up and the deco is beautiful!! You cannot leave without taking pics! Not to mention the delicious food & great portion sizes! The staff were lovely and had excellent customer care service. Thank you Irmak staff for helping make my mum’s 50th birthday a beautiful and classy one ❤️❤️❤️ only minus is you can’t book group booking in the lounge area unless you are having Shisha which is obviously 18+. It would have been nice to also use the party poppers but they were only allowed in the lounge area which we couldn’t do because we had children.

First time ordering here today's takeaway recommendation from friend, food taste good like it but chilli 🌶 need to be more spicy 🙂 portions are just good enough no to big no to small, price are also good will coming back again.

Highly recommend this place. Food, service and atmosphere was second to none. Booked a table for iftar with the family. They had dates, fruit and water ready on the table. Plus a decent size prayer room.

I am from the local area but live in Turkey. This restaurant was my go to before leaving and when I visit back to family we order from here. Its good food slightly expensive but that's knowing what the food costs outside of the UK. Would be good if they add ezogelin and ezme.

I could recommend any more highly, the staff, chefs and management made my 30th birthday special. Hosted all of my family and friends. Facilitated our baby reveal and made special by recording and creating a video. The food was LOVED by all of my 40+ family and friends. As well as that, they meet all timings agreed with food like clock work. Wouldn’t have changed a thing. You should go out of your way to visit Irmak!

There’re no alcohols at all which was very disappointing, even no wines !!! Also there is a big difference between website pictures and reality . Regarding The food - nothing special , and the prices absolutely not adequate to a quality Also it was very cold there !!!!!! Also please note that there is no parking space It was really very bad choice :(

EXCEPTIONAL ALL ROUND!! Me and my family visited Irmak BBQ and i cannot wait until my return! The food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant is second to none and for that, i will be recommending Irmak BBQ to all my friends, family and clients.

The food is the best I have ever tasted, great value got money and nice big portions. Nice atmosphere and great with children. Made my friends birthday extra special with sparklers with her cake

First visit and what a lovely find. Food was very fresh and tasty. We found the staff to be very friendly and the restaurant was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be returning.

Went for a birthday meal 5 adults and 1 child. The staff were fantastic very polite and welcoming. Food was amzing lots of choice and lots to eat. Will be returning

We went for dinner here after seeing plenty of good reviews. The restaurant itself was lovely and well decorated and very clean. The only downside to this restaurant was that we ordered a starter and the mains came out as well with the starter so unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy our food and was full and left loads of it.

Restaurant is really nicely decorated. Waiters and staff in general were on point and was really happy with their service. Hummus was good, falafel came with hummus and salad which was also good because they didn’t drown the salad in any vinaigrette . Steak was okay. Wanted it medium rare but they only do rare, medium and well done. First time they cooked my steak wrong so had to sent it back, second time it was cooked rare how I asked. If you like steaks with huge fat on the side then you’ll enjoy the sirloin here. For me I don’t like fat on steak, but it was nice with the fat off. Pepper sauce was creamy.

Lovely fresh food good size portion. Nice friendly delivery staff 4 stars given because the pitta bread I ordered was missing. Another occasion the portion of chips were missing what I ordered and paided for otherwise would of been 5 stars.

Never seen anything like this. Ordered and got the food in 15 MINUTES. UNBELIEVABLE. And it's Christmas. Advice for anyone who wants to get the food delivered: use their website instead of Just Eat because they are able to keep the prices lower there since there are no fees. Will definitely order again.

The food tastes good (eaten previously) but the portions are so small for the price charged(personal opinion). Below is a picture of a large mixed shish. There suggestion was for them to collect the food back and to ask for a refund rather than supplying a ‘salad’ or extra slice of ‘bread’ to make the meal. We were offered a 15% discount on our next order which was declined due to not wanting to order again if it couldn’t be resolved. They suggested they would collect the food and to claim a refund. The previous day we were given 2 slides of bread and now we are awaiting a refund from the app as we were told. Other places offer more for the money. I’m sure the restaurant itself is lovely but would not order a takeaway again and glad with comments below they agree. It’s just a shame on my visit to Dunstable in such a long time this was the experience.

First of all I want to thank the chef for the extraordinary taste of the food, everything is superlative and of course those who take care of the delivery, in less than 30 minutes I had the order at the door and on the website it said around 1 hour, I had a shock in a good way when I saw that the food had arrived. Ordered the mix grill for 2. Doner was just about average quality. Chicken donner was nice Lamb and chicken shish cooked well but lacked flavour, very bland and visibly lacked seasoning also. Lamb kofte ok. Average food, not bad but not great. Good price at £20 for the platter for two. 3/5.

Maybe unlucky as we ordered early but the kebab was wet and soggy, no colour to it. Chicken kebab was ok as where the chips. Not as good as i remember from when i lived in the area a few years back sadly. But can get better doner kebab than that down the road in a trailer for 2/3rds the price sadly.

First time ordered from here today and wow food was amazing delivery was quick and no hassle and food is very reasonably priced will definitely be ordering again definitely 5 stars from us.

TL;DR --- If you've not eaten at Irmak BBR restaurant, you're in for a treat. Even if you're unsure, give it a whirl you won't regret it. In fact, you'll quickly decide to add it to your short list of places you'd recommend to others. --- If you're passing Irmak BBQ restaurant and takeaway on the A505 crossroads at Dustable, you could be forgiven for thinking it's just a regular kebab takeaway with a few tables out front. But that assumption or best guess on your part couldn't be further from the truth. When you enter the restaurant, (dodge past the takeaway queue as it's likely to extend out of the door) you'll quickly encounter the polite, efficient but not pushy and in-your-face attitude the staff have. Their attentive, professional, quiet but friendly manner is something many restaurants strive for (including the bigger chains) but few achieve except the more exclusive outlets. The restaurant's main seating area boasts modern decor with its marine blue and white chairs, retractable roof and pleasant ambience giving it the ability to be light and airy on a warm summer's evening, or softly lit and a little more intimate with the roof closed. The same level of thought and attention to detail as was given to the decor is engrained into the DNA and the bar, kitchen and those who prepare the drinks and plate the food. For them, this is anything but  "just another kebab restaurant"; it's abundantly clear this is a business which they care about deeply, where every effort is made to provide an experience which would set itself apart from anywhere else you'd eaten that month. We considered a starter but then decided to skip it and just go for the mixed platter for two (lamb doner, chicken doner, lamb shish, chicken shish and lamb kofte) served with a side salad, cous cous and Turkish bread. Good choice as the portions are generous. Once the food had been presented at our table, the moment was topped off with the theatre of a bowl of dry ice. You may think this is a little OTT and unnecessary but I'd respond by saying it only lasts a couple of minutes and doesn't detract from the food at all, for most people it'll add to the experience. My eagle eye watched numerous tables being served their food while we were seated and each received the same attention to detail and thoughtful service. Everything we ordered was prepared, cooked, plated and presented perfectly. A good example is the salad, which I've seen a similar selection of ingredients (tomato, carrot, lettuce, red cabbage, pomegranate seeds and cucumber) served in other establishments. The way they'd been combined together demonstrated this wasn't an afterthought or 'cost-effective dish' that had been added to this menu option simply to help bulk it out. The marinade on the red cabbage turned it from a coarse vegetable into something that worked with and complemented the meat dishes without being overpowering. I know from personal experience this takes a degree of skill and craftsmanship to achieve with the subtlety and grace demonstrated by the chef.  For the sake of brevity, I'll leave it there. Lastly, the £64M question - "would I go back?" So often I've eaten at a place which has been enjoyable, but when asked I've had to reply, "given the number of other places I'd like to sample I did enjoy it and would return, but probably not for 6 months or so." Whereas when I think of the food and service we received at Irmak BBQ restaurant, if asked, my answer would be DEFINATELY! And quite soon. (For the avoidance of doubt, this was not a paid for review. The proprietor did not know I was a Google Local Guide who fully intended to review the experience, we ordered, were served and paid for our food. My review is an account of the service we received and my honest and frank critique of the food and the overall experience received that evening.)

I went today with my family and a baby. Typically straight away my baby started to cry as soon as we put him in the high chair. I was dreading that we are going to have one loud baby crying throughout our meal but to my surprise One of the staff notice immediately and brought my baby a lollipop- this little gesture was a life saver!! Within seconds my baby calmed down and was distracted by that lollipop throughout our stay. We were able to sit down relax and enjoy the amazing meals that were presented to us with such dedication. Even though the food was exceptional i really thought the service and the staff stood out the most. My family and i will defo be returning here very soon… keep it up guys!

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly to most - yes, the food is exceptional! Probably the best Turkish food I have had in Buckingham. If you live close by and haven't popped in, you need to visit. I travelled from MK and will be planning to go back. Excellent place for family, business or even that lone person moment for an enjoyable meal with stylish vibrant colourful decor, attentive friendly staff, clean washroom facilities and very comfy surroundings. The food arrived quickly as I waited with anticipation and was very satisfied with the portion, flavours and layout of the welcomed meal. It takes a great deal to impress me and today I must say my expectations were met all the way around as I sat with my family and enjoyed the beautiful decor of the restaurant. What a fantastic experience. Both thumbs up. Thank you very much. I gladly give this establishment my personal recommendation.

Straight away staff are amazing, booked a table for 6 and unfortunately half didn't make it in time (30 mins late) and turned up with 7 people, staff sorted a bigger table right away and made it seem like wasn't a problem! Took order as soon as everyone was ready, food came out with no delay and even did a cool table service using dry ice! Fawn was our server, she was super friendly, checked in on us at all the right times! Food was amazing! Everything was freshly make and super tasty! Highly recommended and will definitely be returning!

Fabulous dining experience tonight at Irmak! From a friendly welcome from Omar all the way through to wonderful service from the team! The food was delicious, top quality and lovely presentation. Had a takeaway from this place a medium chicken shish kebab costing £6.50 all you get is 4 pieces of chicken a salad and 1/2 a slice of Turkish bread!Would not order from here again.

I was asked how our meal was and whether I was ready for the meal. My partner was completely ignored, which for me was awkward for me as she was paying! Why was she not asked how her meal was? It’s not difficult to turn your head so you’re speaking to two people instead of just the male.We’ve no intention of returning.Great if you’re a sexist lad.A very disappointing end to a great evening.

Lovely staff, great atmosphere, delicious food.

Amazing restaurant which we experienced with the family this week. From the start to the end, we were greeted and welcomed in a professional manner. The waitresses were very attentive and very helpful with the menu. Amazing choices of turkish food and wow the mocktails are delicious. It was very busy for a monday and we received super fast service which was excellent. We could tell why these guys won the best newcomer award as the managers made sure every customer got the same excellent service they promise. The lounge looks incredible but on this visit we had our children with us and that area is for over 18’s. Will be visiting them this weekend to test there shisha. Overall no faults and superb service. By far the best in dunstable
