Turned up during opening hours... Closed - lights off, door locked. Way to go Gokce.

This is the best Turkish restaurant I have been to outside of London. Delicious food, great service, great atmosphere and great management. We’ll definitely be back!

Back in March I made a large booking of 21 people for July. I made a note to say that this would be for private dining. I received an email to say all confirmed. I then receive a text message on 29th May to say they have another booking at 7pm that night so can no longer fulfil my booking. I replied and asked if I could come earlier then, but still no response. Really disappointed with the service as I would have thought 4months was plenty of notice, and 2months to tell me you can’t do it just isn’t good enough.

A perfect early dinner with small children. Great service , good food and a wonderful host.

The most delicious Turkish we've ever had. The service is second to none (the Manager is such a nice guy) and the food is INCREDIBLE (especially the lamb (all of it!). Lunch menu is insane (and great value) and the full menu is great! Often get the platter takeaway and it's just as good as eating in! Also, at lunch they serve a light orange coloured dip that is TO DIE FOR

Enjoyed a beautiful meal on Saturday . From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was amazing and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious I had the king prawn casserole I would definitely recommend . The wine and cocktails were also perfect and our overall experience was very enjoyable. We will definitely be back thanks for a great night !

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The booking was simple online. The service was quick and efficient but not pushy or hurried. Menu had so many choices, the food we had was absolutely delicious .

Best restaurant in our opinion, not just in Shefford but in the surrounding area. We had a takeaway this time and shared a platter for 2. We cannot recommend this highly enough, the food arrived very quick and piping hot, the chicken shish was delicious, the koftes and lamb cubes lovely, we love that you get bulgar wheat as well as rice and salad. But the lamb chops are the best I’ve had anywhere! The portion sizes with the shared platter is always excellent. Finally, we tried for the first time ever Turkish Rice Pudding and it was an instant favourite! We will be adding this to future orders for sure.

We had a lovely meal here, the food was tasty and portions were a good size. Service was friendly and the parking is free via registering your car inside.

We've recently moved to Shefford and have eaten in once and had a takeaway once. The standard and quality of food is great, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. If you enjoy Turkish food then give Gokce a try! BTW if you order online abd collect, currently there's a 15% discount applied at checkout!

The manager of the restaurant was very accommodating, he provided excellent customer service. More importantly, the food, was delicious. You could tell that everything was freshly cooked to perfection. We had lamb and chicken shish and it was delicious. Definitely the best Turkish we have tried around the area. It was reasonably priced and we are looking forward to going back!

Best Turkish restaurant I have ever been and its going to be hard to beat! Have tried many meals on different occasions and always food is perfectly cooked - literally. Even just speaking of rice - is so tasty!!! Can’t wait to visit there again. Thank you for always warm welcome <3

Excellent food and service even though it was busy.

The food is excellent, service very good. Not the cheapest place in the world, but you get what you pay for. I wonder how many people are put off by the intimidating signage in the car park, with threats and warnings. Not terribly welcoming. If you are eating there, parking is free, but even that is not necessarily obvious, and the signage in most of the carpark does not make that clear.

A lovely early dinner here, so attentive and lovely with our 11yo. Food was out of this world, we felt the prices were high ish (as every seems to be these days) but it was worth every penny due to the quality. Will definitely return as soon as we can,

Shocking service. First you turn up with more than half my order missing and when it arrived was cold and very over cooked inedible.

We have dined here a few times now. Im a chef and find it hard to find good food in the area. The food is fantastic tasty well seasoned and nicely presented. The staff and owner are very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Went here in about April and honestly the food was absolutely divine. I still think about it randomly sometimes. Everything was cooked perfectly and the waiter was very pleasant. Was very good value for money. I'm not from the area but if I ever go back that way, will definitely be stopping by!

We waited over an hour and a half for our main course, which did not arrive even asking twice how much longer they would be. We were told by the waiting staff we don't know what is happening. Noone was forthcoming with explanations and the management seemed to hide.

Went for lunch today - £11 for 2 courses and they were absolutely delicious and t substantial servings sizes. Great service great food great price - what more do you want ! Well done Gocke - hope you keep going with it 👍

Excellent food and good delivery time

We found this via this website when we were in the area. Can highly recommend. Weekday lunch menu 2 courses for £11.90 and food was excellent, well cooked and nicely presented. I had chicken Shiah and hubby had the salmon which he highly recommends. Homemade tiramisu was excellent too. Great service. Place is nicely done too. There is a car park next to the restaurant but don’t pay to park but make sure you enter your registration details when you come into the restaurant. So pleased we ate here. Shame it’s too far from home for us to get to more regularly.

We experienced a rather disappointing meal here after having high expectations from looking at lots of good reviews. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive and the atmosphere was nice. Salads and cold meze starters were great. But the mixed seafood grill was the first disappointment; there was no sign of it having been grilled and the fish and prawns were very plain. We were assuming they would have been grilled on a charcoal fire but it didn't look or taste like that and seemed to have been cooked in an oven. The vegetable shish was also a let down; it didn't have the asparagus, baby corn or halloumi. We told the staff about this and they apologised, saying the new chef had changed the menu a bit (fair enough, but they could've warned before we ordered) but the halloumi had just been forgotten about so they bought some out on a side dish. The lamb was a bit on the chewy side, chicken was good. The sticky toffee pudding was also good but the baklava had a coarse black hair in it which was rather unpleasant. We notified the staff who were very apologetic and said they wouldn't charge for that dish. As mentioned, the staff seemed very nice and some of the food was good so I'm leaving 2 stars. But we were disappointed by all of the problems, especially as we politely informed them each time so they had a chance to reconcile but they only apologised, with this many issues it felt like that wasn't enough.

I received one palm sized bread for a 4person order. Called the restaurant and asked for more bread, more than 30 min later there is still no bread and the place is next village.

This is a great place to eat, staff are really friendly and genuinely seem happy to see you. The food is beautifully cooked and there’s plenty of it. There is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and you are not rushed at all. I would highly recommend this Resturant

First time meal during a quiet mid afternoon but lovely for it. Great service and very tasty , good size portions. Would, and will, go again.

Massive back garden to be enjoyed in beautiful weather. Only minor issue was the flies and ants all around the tables. If the furniture can get treated to repel them it will be really lovely place. And for people who doesnt know or wishes to know you can park your car right next to it and go in there to provide your reg plate for them to sort out. Otherwise it is £1 for 3 hours anyway. We got cold and hot starters and mains and guess what yes We absolutely packed and couldnt finish. Lamb shish was real dime. I didnt enjoy the adana as much as the shish.

This seems to be one of the best Turkish restaurants we’ve tried in the north Herts/central Bedfordshire region. It’s everything you expect from Turkish restaurant, but with added extra attention to detail.

Friendly welcome, attentive service, delicious appetisers, four different starters and four mains from the set lunchtime menu. Every dish was excellent, perfectly cooked, attractively presented, generous portions and so very tasty. Two courses for just 12 quid! Add in a reasonably priced bottle of shiraz, strong, rich coffee and authentic Turkish delight. Will we be back ? What do you think? Outstanding.

I'm a first timer at Gokce and very much enjoyed an impulsive lunch with my husband there today! The restaurant inside is lovely, stylish and relaxing and we had great service right from the moment we arrived. Happy we came here, the lunch menu itself had lots of choice (the chef was happy to cater for my dairy intolerance) and the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Portion size was large for both the starters and the mains, we thoroughly enjoyed it in particular my falafels and sea bass. We'll hopefully be back again soon for lunch or dinner with family. Very good value for money, excellent restaurant 😀

We got a takeaway from here this evening 1st time! We initially could not decide between this place and the airman kitchen (another Turkish restaurant) as we'd never tried either. WOW, so so glad we've tried here first, the food is impeccable and truthfully going to be very hard to beat. Portion size is HUGE on both starters and mains, amazing. They've now gained customers for life and we'll be taking family and friends in here for meals when they visit. 100% 5* and well worth the £ 👌
