An oasis of calm, good food and company in the heart of Ipswich!

Had a big celebration party of 120 people, the standard of service was outstanding from start to finish. It is a beautiful and flexible venue and the staff were very accommodating with all aspects particularly Robert and Jane. The finger buffet was excellent and of a high standard. Could not recommend Ipswich and Suffolk Club highly enough.

Throw back old school venue full of nostalgia. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the snooker matches we had there. Food solid as well.

I am a local resident who has only recently discovered the Ipswich and Suffolk Club !The venue is a beautiful old building full of character and with such a varied and interesting programme there is something for everyone . A wide range of members... and as a member you are able to invite friends along too . The staff are amazing , they provide efficient and personal service and nothing is ever too much trouble . Having sampled quite a few of the dinners and events ( the quality of food and variety is amazing ) they are something that I really look forward to.

Based in the centre of Ipswich this private members club is a haven of tranquility in which one can relax with friends and let time pass you by. The club boasts a silver service dining room, bistro, bar, reading room, two snooker rooms and two meeting rooms. It is managed by friendly, efficient staff and hosts a range of regular events from the very popular speakers' lunches to formal black tie dinners. The club is available for private hire; if you want a stylish wedding that your guests will never forget then this is the place to go.

Robert and his team were very helpful and supportive right from the very start, when my & my husband were still looking for the venue. Nothing was too much trouble, all the questions were answered quickly and suggestions given. On the day of the wedding we were taken care of, everything ran as smooth as it possibly could.

Food ordered in advance for 50th birthday party. Good staff. Music available from your own phone, links up to their speakers. Spotify used. Good bar. Expensive to hire.

Wow what can we say other than FANTASTIC From start to finish the staff worked there butts off making our day the best. Smooth running of our event and made the day so special. Highly recommend the club for any function

My friend is a member here and we had a wonderful lunch of prawn and chive cakes on a bed of carrot and bean sprouts in teriyaki sauce, followed by heavenly desserts of apple bread and butter pudding, and a peach melba. Nice coffees too. Surroundings are charming and comfortable. I have had several delicious meals here and they are always excellent. Service is friendly and warm and if I lived in Ipswich I would join immediately!

Amazing and friendly staff. Welcoming place and good food

Invited by my wonderful 'in laws' as a lunchtime treat we all had a wonderful time. The service by Jane was superb and the food was amazing. Infact all front of house staff were highly professional and friendly. The ambience of the dining space was welcoming and very pleasant. A lot of time and trouble has gone into following Covid guidance without making it feel sanitary, keeping the dining experience at the forefront. The addition of the foliage as a dividing corridor is genius. Thank you so much.

It was our second Annual Dinner at the Ipswich and Suffolk Club. With forty-eight people to look after the Ipswich and Suffolk provided an excellent evening for our members. The service, the food and the atmosphere of the club was faultless. Special acknowledgment must go to kitchen brigade for the suggested menu with three choices for each course which was delivered in very good time. The main courses in particular accompanied with bowls of wonderful fresh vegetables all steaming hot shows a kitchen that knows what it is doing. The waiting staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The entire team led by the general manager Robert is an example on excellence.

I haven’t tasted food like it in years. It’s the opposite of modern but that’s what was nice about it. The food is homely and comforting and sometimes that’s just what you need. I’d eat there again in a flash.

My first experience of this lovely club,Was to attend a small gathering after a funeral.. The staff were charming & very helpful... I hope I shall have the chance to return.... in happier circumstances...

We were looked after splendidly by manager Robert and the attentive staff for our Mums wake. Perfect venue for such an occasion, great location and just the right ambience. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely place. Had our wedding there. Staff are friendly and the manager goes out of his way to help make your time spent there is memorable.

We had our wedding here in the Adam room and the whole event ran faultlessly under the guidance of Robert , the manager. The service, timing, attention to detail made our whole day very memorable . All our guests enjoyed our very intimate wedding event. The food was superb. The venue has to be one of the best in Ipswich. Nothing was too much trouble from the staff. I would recommend the club venue without hesitation if you are looking for a lovely ,historic building with much character and great service for your wedding.

Beautiful, staff are amazing and done such a lovely job. Manager very nice. The building is gorgeous, wish we had known we could of got married there also before we booked the Registry office.. food anso,it.ey gorgeous .

Only popped in for a passing visit so can't comment on the venue as a whole, but the car park was nowhere near big enough. Not enough spaces, spaces too small and not enough room between them.

We were invited to a birthday party held at this club. The reception was superb, the staff circulkated serving canapes and champagne, we were called to dinner, a four course feast of wondeful food and superb wine. Great staff making the occassion perfect. I would recommend the club to anyone wishing to hold an event.

I have been a member of the Club for over 10 years and heartily recommend. We have used for our staff functions, client seminars, network events, one to ones in the restaurants and even my surprise 50th birthday event (which in true Club fashion was kept discrete from me!)

Joined the club a few years ago after being introduced by friends when I was new to the area. Was immediately welcomed by other members and fellow snooker players. The club arranges all sorts of trips out and speakers in. The bar and restaurant meals are as good as many in town. The members also have scrabble, bridge and a book club. Highly recommended.

We are members of this club and thoroughly enjoy dinning here, food is excellent and service is attentive but not intrusive, the staff are friendly and look after you and also cater for little thinks like food intollerance etc just good old fashion looking after, lovely !

Not only is it central to Ipswich, it has good parking and is open to invited guests. An ancient town building of charm, well maintained and very comfortably furnished with friendly and efficient staff who serve you well in the bar or lounges. The restaurant has been recently updated and is spacious with waitress service - has minor dress code which is good. Separate eating rooms for more casual service. Daily menus in bar and restaurant and also a small outside sheltered eating area if weather fine. Food was straightforward and well presented and suited all tastes. Club has excellently maintained snooker and billiard rooms and upstairs meeting rooms open for hire. Good comfort areas. All most impressive, comfortable and good value and a privilege to enter! It is open to groups for meetings and dining and a good place for a private reception or dining party.

The food was excellent. The service was first class. Very delightful time had by all. The reason for the visit was for an awards dinner. We were in the little room to the right as you enter. A pleasant and charming place.

For a private club the atmosphere was great, not stuffy and definitely friendly coupled with good honest food and not a bad wine list. Long may these establishments prosper.

The club offers a large range of events for members and, sometimes, their guests too. Ladies have been permitted to be members for over 11 years, as this was once a gentleman only club. The atmosphere is not at all "stuffy", the staff are excellent and the chef is French. What more could you want!.Lunch is served daily to members and there are many opportunities to dine in the evening too. A great bonus is the car park, which is adjacent to this town centre establishment. Annual membership fees apply and new members must be proposed by existing members.
