Visited last week with my partner. Lovely unique, friendly place, all staff were really welcoming. We will be back and will recommend to family and friends when visiting that area of Cornwall 😁

Really great little family run pub, lots of games, darts, pool, space invader arcade, punch ball and many more. Prices are very good compared to other pub.

+ It's the only pub in town with its own parking. Drinks were good and the food was excellent. Portion size is generous. The staff were super friendly.

Visited a few years ago and returned last night since we were staying in the area again. Only popped in for a pint or two but ended up staying for the quiz which was great fun. A great pub, friendly staff and owners and an essential place to visit if you're in the area 👍

Had a missed call off this number and received abuse from a man denying this even though his colleague said a few people have also said they received missed calls off this number.

Love this pub, a group of us go there when ever we are stopping in the area. Our friends that live locally usually meet us on a Friday night for the karaoke.

I am editing this review with a more upto date one. This small pub has a great atmosphere and staff are very friendly. However, the food this year (2024) compared to previous years has declined to the point of profit is trumping quality very badly. Let's see what 2025 brings if I'm no longer banned for saying so.

We have been here a few times as we walk the dogs and stop for a drink and food, as its great food excellent beer nice beer garden or you can sit inside as well with the dogs so I recommend it's very friendly atmosphere

We popped down to Cornwall for a holiday and found this pub. The staff were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. We didn't have any food, only drinks. If we are down this area again, we will definitely be back!

Very enjoyable experience with the locals singing Karaoke, the landlord is quite a character, drinks are reasonably priced, good atmosphere.

We’ve visited Into The Woods a few times in 2022 whilst on holiday and had great time. Sadly on our last visit in July 2023 this all changed. We went along with a group of friends to have a meal and a game of bingo. What should have been a lovely fun evening turned out to be nothing short of horrendous. We all arrived at just gone 6 and placed orders for meals. Each of our party placed their orders (4 different orders making a total of 12 meals) none of which were anything elaborate and there was a lot of duplicate dishes within these 12 meals. The first two meals came out swiftly and looked good. This is where things started to go wrong! The second two meals finally arrived approximately 45 mins later, one of these meals was the same as what was on the first order, There had been two separate meals brought out in the meantime to other customers who had placed their orders since we had all placed ours which was very strange (into the woods claimed it was only for chips but it was very clear that the baskets contained burgers too! Another 2 meals for our party after a further 10/15 minute wait, we were at the hour waiting mark by now!. The next two followed about about 10 minutes later. Our meals FINALLY arrived after a 1hr 25 minute wait!A couple of us had queried our orders at the hour wait point to be rudely told by staff that ALL MEALS WERE FRESHLY COOKED so we would have to wait our turn (later we were told they could only cope with cooking two meals at a time!) so every order that was for 2 or less meals we were told we’re done first as I quote‘they’re easier to do’, Therefore this meant as a family of 4 ours was being put to the bottom of the pile each time a new order for less than 4 was ordered! This was noted by later order numbers being called for similar/same meals that we had on our order. We had a very unpleasant encounter with the manager who was very rude, in our faces, giving all the hand gestures and comments to my husband for a fight, which obviously made us feel very uncomfortable. Three female members of staff being rude and one even lying to the manager which other people heard and made the manager aware of this. After us saying we would never return to this shambles of a pub, we were then told not to come back by the manager and I believe his wife, he even threatened to take photos of us to remind staff we weren’t allowed back 🤣. Result of it we did finally get an unwilling refund of our meal which was left uneaten and according to others one of the female members of staff stormed in shouting FREE FOOD. We’ve been assured that they won’t be serving any more food from now on as they can’t cope with the agro! Sadly they didn’t do this and continue to serve food which apparently isn’t great! It’s a pity they didn’t stop serving food as I certainly wouldn’t want anyone else to experience the unprofessional rude threatening approach we experienced! The Ship just round the corner is far more friendly and the food is amazing

Such a great place! Bingo and karaoke Saturday evening was a blast. Amazing atmosphere, great selection of drinks and landlord/staff are top top people!

The friendliest pub in Cornwall was greeted with a friendly smile and chat by both pub owners. Had a real sense of community and the pub had great games and compared to all the pubs near by was hugely superior couldn't recommend it more! p.s was so friendly we even got given free cheesy chips :)

Fascinating place, really interesting decor! You can help yourself to tea or coffee and make it as you like best! Very reasonable price.

Landlord and staff are great. Very welcoming. Draft ales kept perfectly. We always pay a visit when staying in Mevagissey.

Didn't expect it to have so much character inside,the two guys running this place were so genuine and kind, the home made chips are with the visit alone! Keep up the great work!

Phoned last minute on a Monday night to see if they were serving food. Great service we could have anything off the menu lunch or dinner. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. The food was very nice (Mac and cheese, Fish Pie and Hunters chicken)and reasonably priced. Will add to our list of places to return too.

Had the feel of a good community pub with really friendly mgmt/staff. Only a small choice of beer, but what they had was excellent. Nice beer garden, free to use bouncy castle for the kids.

Can't believe we not been here before, very friendly staff , had a bit of banter with one of them. The foodd was amazin, and the beer and food prices are Great. with will plenty for the kids to do with a bouncy castle rope swing pool table, and fun pub games will be back soon ..

Popped in just for a drink & snack with the grandkids, after walking through the woods,,,, young lady serving was very good, helpful & efficient. A little disappointed in the bar , we were expecting a lovely little cottage atmosphere ,as in (in the woods,) where the wicked witch was stoking the fire & wood sprites & fairies were hiding ... but it was more like a hall ,with sports ... never mind ,,, the drinks & snacks were nice ,, 😂

Discovered this little gem on a walk through the woods. The owners were so welcoming as were the staff and the locals, we ended coming back for a night out and had a brilliant night. The dirty fries were spot on 👍Can’t wait to go back again.

Went for lunch got served with drinks quite quickly. Ordered food jacket potato beans and cheese + a vegetable curry. Place was not busy, waited 1hr for food. veg curry served with what looked like chicken in it was told it was quorn. Not a vegetable insight. Would not recommend

Veggie burger was appalling, no excuse to serve these with the choice of meat free products available these days.

Amazing food, drinks and hospitality. A proper pub in my book. Huge selection of spirits, beers, wine and cider. Just eaten during our stay and the Sunday lunch was to die for. Went for the chicken, bacon and mushroom pie. Worth the wait and thank you 😊 🙏

Sat having a wonderful pub lunch. Great food, lovely setting and place. Staff very friendly, all in all a highlight of the holiday. And our young daughter loved the bouncy castle!!

A very overdue review - we happened upon this lovely place during a very soggy walk along the coast path to Mevagissey. Whilst walking through the village we got caught out in the rain and the landlord encouraged us to come in and gave us a cup of tea and biscuit on the house, which was much appreciated and very kind! Lovely, quirky little place, good food and beer options, lots going on there for all the family to enjoy, and the friendliest of landlords (I would expect nothing less from a fellow Brummie!) thank you :)

This is a family pub with heart run by a super family from the Midlands. Always informal and welcoming with a great new IPA all their own. Do check it out.

FANTASTIC PUB. It all about the lovely family who own/ run it, very welcoming, helpful, friendly and will do anything for their customers. Great selection of drinks and food too.

Great pub with a bit of history, quick getting served and wide range of drinks on offer. Bouncy castle keeps the kids entertained, aswell as a big beer garden.

Don't bother if it looks busy. The menu looked decent and excited to try some Texan style grub, but when two families (8 of us) went to try this out we were let down. Although the sign says 'family fun, stress free' it was far from this. There was a 10 min wait for the bar and when I got to the front the barman told me the kitchen wasn't taking orders. According to him they were backed up with tickets and needed time to get through it. I asked him to let me know when they would be ready, but he didn't bother. After 45 mins we decided to order 'Just Eat', and at that moment a pleasant lady asked if we had ordered food. She was the chef and was collecting menus off the tables. When I told her what we'd been told and she said they never stopped taking orders. I very much doubt this because she started collecting the menus 45mins after we were told how long the wait would be.... convenient. It simply too small to cope with the families it aims to cater for and, if the barman was to be believed, then communication between staff is terrible. Simply put.....this place is poorly managed and is only good for a pint if you're a local.

More of an evening venue than lunch time but good beer and cider.

A gem of a pub. Great atmosphere. Delightful, friendly, welcoming and full of helpful local info. The food and choice of beer is good and the prices are reasonable for the area. Come and join the fun.

Went here for the first time today. Lovely staff, fab coffee, lovely clean toilets, great selection behind the bar. Different evening activities. Was so nice we went back again for another coffee. Have already recommended to my friends and will definitely go back again soon.

Great find this place, spent most of our time in the beer garden, friendly staff happy to help. Great selection of drinks and serving food too. Had a bbq on one day, felt very homely. Has different things on most days to entertain. Will definitely be back.

Friendly jokey staff. Nice alcohol, alright price. Outside seating with a bouncy castle to entertain the kids. No signal here and outside speaker needs changing, very scratchy sounding, was off putting.

Great pub. Such a lovely warm friendly welcome. We went in with our two disabled little ones, so nice to go in somewhere with two wheelchairs and have plenty of room to move around . Food was delicious and great value too . Definitely a place we will return to

A great, quirky, lively, friendly pub/coffee shop which is quite unique! Small but perfectly formed. Even has a pool table and regular entertainment. Menu for food is simple pub grub, but very tasty and reasonably priced, and the landlords are certainly very accommodating! The veggie dirty fries was delicious!! A local pub for locals and visitors alike. Loved it. Jenny's Tuesdsy night bingo was a bonus haha 🤣 very entertaining, it was a shame we had to leave before her quiz so we could find our way back to camp before dark, sorry Jenny! Walking the main road armed with my phone torch as darkness fell was almost as heart-stopping as 'last man standing'🤣 A short walk from Little Winnick Touring Park, but take a torch 🔦 and a hi-vis jacket haha

Great little find, originally an old school house with a very friendly team and atmosphere. We were welcomed before even getting to the gate and went back for another visit even though it was over an hours walk from where we were staying.

Great little gem of a place! Good variety of food, well priced and honestly delicious! Exactly what we were looking for when we stopped today. And not forgetting to mention the staff, all of whom were so friendly, helpful and inviting. I would give this place 10 stars if I could!

Clean inside well set out with very freindly staff pleasant area nice to sit out in the garden area and have a drink serve food and food looks nice . Good selection of drinks and good prices .Its well worth a call in on the way back from Mevagissey as we struggled to get a drink in Mevagissey.
