What a great place! I had the "half" afternoon tea which at £10 was great value. Lovely egg mayonnaise sandwiches on delicious bread, very tasty homemade tomato soup and the best chocolate cake I have had for some time. With tea included and a warm welcome and friendly staff. Quirky decor and nice atmosphere. Would strongly recommend!

Took my friend for afternoon tea as a treat for his 70th birthday. It was the worst afternoon tea I had ever had. The bread was thick and dry with all the crusts left on. Not a big selection of sandwiches for the price I paid ( £40 for two) and the cakes were sad and small.....looked like one piece cut into two. We had one scone to share which was " nice". The lady was friendly and we had a big pot of tea. No trifles or any treats on those lines. I didn't complain as I didn't want to spoil my friends day and he is so polite he wouldn't say anything as I was treating him for his birthday. The venue was clean but very tired...I won't go back. The photo shows the amount we got for £40....and no salad or any kind of garnish.

Very disappointed with the afternoon tea my friend and I had yesterday. The sandwiches were made with thick dry bread with the crusts still on!!!!! None of the cakes were fresh and the amount we got for £20 wasn't enough. There wasn't any little trifles or anything of that description. The scone was nice and we had plenty of tea also the lady was friendly but I would give this place a miss. The venue is very tired....needs updating. You can see all the food in the photo definitely not worth £40.

It's always a treat to visit this hidden gem behind Shipley market. We popped in for lunch and chose the cream tea, a nice selection of sandwiches, a starter and delicious warm scones (or cake). There was more than enough food, great friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere featuring turn of the century memorabilia and music. Also great to pop in for a takeout sandwich, cake and coffee. A very unique place.

Always been delighted with the real coffee in a cafetière and home made scones with clotted cream and jam. I tried a sandwich once, and whilst perfectly acceptable it was really nothing special and perhaps rather expensive for what it was? This visit, I tried a breakfast. I came away with the same impression - I think they could do a full English for that money, but sadly they don’t do one at any price. Overall, the lovely retro setting and service saved the experience, but it was a lot of money for quite an ordinary breakfast. Again, nothing wrong with it, but the sort of price you would expect to pay in Skipton with a view of the canal, not Shipley with the view of a courtyard. Will definitely return for coffee and cakes / afternoon tea, but the meals don’t seem worth it. My tip for the owner? Offer a Full English including coffee/tea for £9 - 10. Even better, offer kippers? At only around £1 to buy in, there’s lots of money to be made there, and as they are off the menu anywhere in Bradford it could be a great USP!

A lovely tea room tucked away in Shipley. With a 1920s theme and homely feel, this is a very nice place to go for lunch or afternoon tea. All food is home made which makes such a difference to mass produced fare. The staff are pleasant and helpful and clearly a good experience for customers is their priority.

My cousin has been visiting this cafe for many years. We ordered two jacket potatoes with bacon and cheese. The portions are enormous! I had the soup which was specialty cooked for me as I’m lactose intolerant. It came with a huge bread tea cake made on the premises. Can’t fault it. Two ladies were having afternoon tea with fizz and it looked amazing. It’s also a quirky shop. There was a lactose free cake but I was so full up I couldn’t manage a slice. May be next time!

An absolute gem of a place. Delicious, fresh, homemade fayre and terrific value. We had the high tea, which included a choice of starters (we had the delicious homemade soup), then a choice of sandwiches (super soft bread and plenty filling) then a scone and choice of cake. We put our scones (enormous!) straight in a doggy bag so we could focus on the cakes. I had a vanilla slice (also enormous with about 3 inches of creamy filling). My other half had lemon & lime cheesecake. Oh and a huge pot of tea for me and large cafetière for him. £16 each. Incredible value and friendly service too.

Super , not so little, tea room. 1940’s feel in decor and background music! We were greeted by a lovely lady called Sarah, who showed us to our table. The weather has turned cooler so it was lovely that there was heating on and she had placed us by a warm radiator which was much appreciated. We both ordered scrambled eggs on toasted tea cakes, with an Earl Grey tea and a breakfast tea. Both served in a large tea pot each plus a jug of extra hot water for top ups. There was very little waiting time between ordering & being served. Initially we were the only patrons as the tea room had just opened but before long quite a few tables were taken. Sarah was perfectly attentive/ not too much and not too little either! All in all a lovely, unusual venue. We will definitely be back with more friends this time too!

Popped in for a light lunch and enjoyed the quirky atmosphere, and music. Plus if you like the look of the decor most of it is for sale. I had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, in regulation triangles and my daughter had a vegetarian chili wrap which was piping hot and cheesy! Having demolished that we had to have scones and cake, it almost seemed rude not to. Excellent fare and the staff are both unobtrusive and helpful which is a rare combination in this day and age.

Not first visit but first after covid. Yes clean the place but don't overdo it. It was like sitting in the bathroom. If the kids hadn't wanted to stay I would have walked out. Also bring back the old book style menu instead of an a4 sheet of paper. Seemed a lot less decor too unfortunately.

Quite an unusual sort of business for this area - more the sort of thing you expect to find in Skipton or Harrogate rather than Bradford. Made a welcome change from chicken and chips or a Greggs meal deal! I had spent a couple of hours under the bonnet of my car, so it was nice to be made welcome despite being not exactly smartly dressed I really liked the cakes and getting a big cafetière of coffee with a China cup, lump sugar and a China cup. Would definitely visit again for that. Also had a sandwich - the star attraction there is the homemade bread which is very fresh and tasty. There is also a very crisp and fresh side salad. Would be nice if you could have a few chips with it for a pound extra like many places offer. The building is amazing and far older than it looks. Amazing huge timbering, and the staff (maybe the owner) told me that the roof is made of one big tree with the branches cut off. Can’t really visualise that, but looking at the size of the timbering in the dining room, it can be believed! I appreciate that it’s not cheap to replace such things but the carpet in the hallway is very worn, and the gents leaves a bit to be desired in terms of having a plastic cistern with what appear to be several fag burns. In my personal opinion, replacing both would enhance the place.

The rest of the menu was tempting but we opted for afternoon tea. We were seated in an attractive and atmospheric 30s/40s/50s themed room. The tea was beautifully presented. The spritzer and sandwiches were delicious and the cheesecake was particularly good, not too sweet. Portions were so generous we had to take one of the cakes away in a box. The staff were welcoming, attentive and very helpful. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last.

One of the things I have missed during the pandemic is visiting this lovely vintage-themed tea room. On a recent trip to Yorkshire me and my husband called in to for a cuppa and one of the Interlude's signature scones, with jam and cream. My husband is clinically extremely vulnerable and this is the first time we have eaten out in over two years. With her typical attention to detail, Sarah had made the necessary adaptations to make her tea room Covid safe, and we felt we could relax and eat in with confidence. We were so glad that the tea room is still open despite the pandemic and we look forward to visiting again.

Please note they also do takeaway scones from here. They packed me up not only the scones but also the CREAM! Best scones I have had anywhere in the country so far. Astonishly wonderful gen hidden in Shipley. If you are lucky you can park outside on the road, and if not there are two car park within a few minutes walk. The cafe would present accessibility issues for some so check before you come if you use a frame or a wheelchair. I have been here about six times now with my parents my wife and my children on different occasions. Over the times I have come here I have tried all the different items on the menu and each time the food has been perfect and I don't just mean ok I mean perfect. Bearing in mind that I was a mystery shopper for years and I am a competent cook I can usually find a few things that I would change about anything I eat but in this case I loved everything I ate and so I would highly recommend coming here to any person. I particularly loved the pasties and the fact that the waitress was perfectly willing to swap out anything on the menu to go with anything else for example she was not precious about any of the meal combinations I chose and that is the mark of an excellent restaurant. I have posted up another 5 photos on Google too. Go here. It is truly wonderful. Am now thinking of their pasties and their scones which are by far the best I have tasted anywhere in the UK.

On a recent visit to Howarth my wife and I decided to go for a few drinks in the evening of our visit, we visited 4 pubs/bars and had the same round of drinks in each (A pint and a half of a popular known brand of lager, not premium of craft beers just a standard Lager) the bar person was fine, friendly enough, took our order and served the drinks, which was all good, at this point my wife and I were distracted by something we found amusing that we had seen through the window outside so when the bar person came up with the card reader I just tapped my card and paid, (Please note at no point was I informed of the price of my purchase by the bar person but i was informed by the bar person where to place my bank card on the card reader to complete the purchase and I heard that clearly so it’s not a case of being over distracted and not hearing something that was said.) When I returned home I checked my online banking and noticed I had been charged £10.10 for this purchase which was between £3.00 and £2.70 Higher than the 3 other Pubs/Bars we visited on that evening twice purchasing a pint and a half of the same product and once a very similar product, I’m not entirely sure if I was charged for two pints (which would of still made it pricey) or if I was simply overcharged. other than that, it’s an ok place for a drink, not much atmosphere though.

Very weird vibes, sandwich was okay but staff were weirdly confused by the order (something on their menu - roasted veg and hummus sandwich) and it took a great deal of effort to convey the order. Small offerings of hummus and only peppers. Very quiet, quite clean, just felt very awkward.
