I booked a table, we arrived to be seated at a table with hard white metal chairs. It wasn't very busy so we asked to move to comfier seats and they did let us move. The manager came across and told us we could only have the table for 1 hour and 15 mins (bookings are supposed toget an hour and a half). Ordered cocktails which were good but 3 of the glasses were not full ( as picture) Second round was the same, all our glasses not filled to the top - which I would expect. We left at the earlier time, even though there were still plenty of tables!!! I asked the manager what the rush was for us to leave and he just gave some half answer....not impressed and I won't be back.

Was very disappointed with my visit afree looking forward to going. Ordered a pornstar martini that was very watery and tasted like nothing. I went up to the bar to explain this and to ask if I could get an another drink instead which I got barely any reply and told I could get another drink. I then got a marshmallow martini with no apology or understanding. This drink again didn’t taste very good either. To add to this, There was absolutely no atmosphere and the service was also really disappointing. Also very disappointed to find the bar shut at 11pm even though I was able to book for 10.15 giving us 40 minutes to drink as the place was already shut down by 10.50. Instead of giving us a heads up of the closing timing everything was just cleared away around us. Most people came and were gone in 20 minutes which added to the abysmal atmosphere. Super disappointed as this was for a birthday! Sad to say I won’t be back after looking forward to this night for a while!

A lovely friendly spot with cracking cocktails. We never knew this place existed. You can enter via George Street going in via the Assembly Rooms entrance or via Rose Street via Stack & Still restaurant. Theme is coffee based cocktails (hence the Insomnia name) but they also do non coffee based cocktails. Lovely setting with chandeliers. Friendly service. Even had a decent lager on tap (West 4) for £4.80.

In November I complained about the shopping experience and how I’m sick of the security their attitude is appalling to customers and I believe it makes the whole shopping experience a horrible one Then In December I was at the customer service desk nearly leaving the building to witness the security ,man handling a child that walked in. The child was doing nothing wrong so after noticing it was my friends child I complained again as the child was actually sent up to collect an item for her Mother . Before I went to complain I said to the chap at the desk he will say the kid is was in last night causing bother which I can assure was not the case . I went in tonight as I’m in here 5/7 nights a week got a small shop and on the way out the security guy slithered up to me and said to me I was now banned from the shop . I then immediately asked for a Asda manager to be present which he came I explained the whole situation and how the security guards have clearly tried to cause trouble and harm a valued customer I’m totally shocked that this behavior is being carried out all because I’ve complained about security twice in the space of one month I look forward to taken this further

22 Niddrie Mains Road6 ⭐ This place is so good. The food and coffee are amazing, and cheap! There are not a lot of chairs, but perfect for take away. Definitely recommend!

27-29 Marshall StreetUn grupo de seis de nosotros nos dieron una cálida bienvenida en el concurrido restaurante un domingo por la noche y tuvimos una gran comida, muy bien presentado, bien cocinada. Amplio menú hambriento, no demasiado tiempo, apropiado para los vegetarianos, así como la carne/pescado caprichosos. Unas ensaladas y platos principales.

Ru45 Ocean DriveFelt like a local coffee shop due to the superbly friendly staff. A nice atmosphere. Well done to them. It should be what all places do, but they don’t. Top marks all.

127-129 Portobello High StreetI made a booking on Saturday for 3 people at 1.30pm. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door to say they close at 2pm every day. I went in and asked why they hadn't pointed that out when I made the booking that day. The male staff member said he had me down for 1pm and they've been closing at 2pm for months. I said I hadn't been there for months so how was I supposed to know that. His response was to make an angry noise then storm off through to the kitchen, leaving the lady to apologise for any misunderstanding. Very bad customer service. I won't be going in again.
