Roast dinner was an absolute disgrace! Frozen roast potatoes, frozen veg, all hard and barely edible. Wasn’t expecting much, but was truly shocked by how bad it was.

Fantastic place. Best pub in the town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. My family and i we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great. Service was absolutely one of the best we ever had.

Dinner at inn on the green was brilliant, good pub food and great service from the team. Will be back soon! Don’t forget to try cheese burger and chicken strips with hot sauce.

Popped in for a bit of lunch and a pint. We both ordered the Classic Beef Burger and it was delicious. Been a few times in the past and would definitely visit again.

Normally don’t write reviews, but the team was very helpful and polite, they brought our drinks to our table as we struggled with the children. Food came quick and was tasted really good. Most importantly, children’s meal under £5 and can get two mains for £14.49. Will be returning soon. Thanks again for looking after us!

Good service, good value and not too busy on a Friday night, for a catch up with friends. There was a mix up with the parking, I missed entering reg details however, the helpful barman Ohmand ( not sure of spelling!) kindly sorted this, so would go back again. Thank you !

Visiting this local pub was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel welcome. The food was simply fantastic! We tried a couple of pub classics. Prices were insane, 2 fish and chips only for £14.49. We used to go high street, we will definitely be returning here. .

We had some steaks during our visit, absolutely amazed how the steak was cooked to perfection. Service was brilliant, they were friendly.

I was a recent customer at the pub, staff were helpful and attentive. I was also served very quickly, considering how busy it was. The prices for drinks are great and the whole vibe of the pub was very pleasant. Do be warned the car park has a fine system, which did issue me a fine however the staff did help resolve and retrench the fine.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent staff. It was quick and easy to get drinks using the app. A fun night was had by all.

Ordered a Sunday roast take out for the first time, the presentation and packing was superb, a very efficient service and food was fresh and very tasty, we went for the chicken and Beef Dual which was so filling, We will definitely be back whether it be to collect another take out or a dine in!!

We went as a family for a roast. We received quick service, nice food and had an excellent waitress who was very attentive. Quiet so Covid-friendly too.

Been a lot before and whilst acceptable, was mediocre... Just finished a couple of beers with a burger, and its 120% better. Covid guidelines adhered to, burgers were delicious... Beer options have increased... All in all a 5* review. We will be back

Food was decent, no onion rings so gave hallouimi fries instead, staff were lovely and helpful, garden is big, nice variety of food and lovely. Will be coming back

From the moment my wife, 2 your old son and I arrived we were warmly welcomed at the door and every process professionally and succinctly explained by a lovely young lady who was so engaging and helpful, so there was no room for confusion with regards to current health and safety measures in place in all restaurants/pubs. We then had the most amazing meal by the chef Becca, and served to us by Myles whom was extremely polite and friendly, as was Trudi serving behind the bar. The pub was so clean; lovely beer garden too! Honestly, could not have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend. Thanks again!

Had a lovely lunchtime meal here last Monday. Even better was the added Eat Out offer. Four main meals, 4 large soft drinks, £22.50, bargain. It was lovely. Great staff, always smiling. Keep it up!

I went to the Inn on the green Saturday afternoon. Had an amazing time with my friends. all the staff were extremly helpful and very manered I was informed of all the required information needed to stick to the restrictions and the one way system they had in place. We were kindly seated at our table with the young gentleman advising us what to do regarding the online app. We ordered our meals and even though the pub was busy it was out promptly and tasted amazing. We even went for a dessert so myself and my friends would like to thank you for a wonderful afternoon.. welldone to everyone for all your hard work in these current times

I recently put a rather harsh review regarding my visit to The Inn on the Green.I would like to update you all.I have had the most Fantastic phone call from them.(LAUREN).They were so upset regarding my upset.I have now been offered to take them up on the offer of a night , at there expense at the Establishment. I used to go the the Inn in the Green regularly but towards the end of last year there was a problem with the food. Haven't been back until this week and what a change. Same owners but new management team. Food was excellent but it was a Monday night so it was quiet. Will be going back!

Having placed a review back in November 2019, regarding a disappointing visit , I was contacted by the Manager of Inn on the Green . BILLERICAY. they asked me to contact them regarding my issues.They gave contact Numbers on the review reply.I have now been trying to contact them on over 20 occasions, left messages .but no replys.I feel the reply was just an act.To try to keep me happy.Infact it has done the opposite. I had already forgotten my dreadful night there the day I posted Review.But now it has brought back that dreadful night.And for them not to answer any calls or messages Sums the Place up.As far as Management are concerned

I have been drinking in this pub for nearly two years now and it has gone through multiple change of managers recently that had a detrimental effect on the running of the place. Thankfully that is now being rectified. Took my family in there for a Sunday roast before the Christmas market. 4 adults and 1 child. Food was the best I have had in there for a long time and we all enjoyed it. Couldn't do enough and will happily start frequenting it more often again. Good to see the place is back on the up, just hope the refurbishment rumours are not true, I love a good pub. Far to many fancy places and bistros in Billericay.

This is my local pub but once again it never fails to disappoint me.Went in there after a very difficult day with my partner only to receive probably the worst pint of Heineken ever. Dirty glass, flat no head and it tasted off.I ask the bar staff for a different pint hop house 13, only for that to be actual the same.I’m spoilt having been a regular at The Chequers in the high st, top service and top drinks. I’ll only ever go in here to drink capped drinks (wine/beer) if fact strap that I wouldn’t like to use a glass maybe just bottled beers then.....or simply go to the off licence opposite and return home haha.They need to look at their hygiene levels and I forgot to mention the sticky bar, no one I mean no one likes to put their arm down on a wet sticky bar. Simple stuff.

Came for the Arsenal game, good service from Your barmaid. Our food was lovely and our drinks complimented well. Glad to see the young cook getting involved with us! And the manager seemed happy and approachable.! This place has since improved and I am happy to see new faces in there. Thank you for a good one, we will sure see you again soon...

Our food was very slow to come out 45 minutes there where only 2 other tables who ordered? When it arrived it was nice. Hopefully things will improve as there are only a few places we like and this was one of them

This is my local pub and I cannot believe for the weekend of 10th-11th of August they had no real ale. The pub has gone down hill over the last 3 years and Greenking should be ashamed of themselves as this was a decent place to eat and drink under the Spirit Brewery. It is now badly run, dirty, falling apart and apart from that the toilets are a health hazard. I know so many regulars that have now moved to other pubs because of this. I would not recommend this pub to anyone at present if you want a decent service, a decent pint or the need to use the toilets.

Lunchtime visit, waited half hour to be served at the bar due to slow staff. Tried to get the 3 for 2 gin offer but the server couldn't work out how to do it on the system and wouldn't ask for help so was given the option to pay for all 3 or not have any. Food portions were tiny and really overpriced for a basic meal. Have been a few times before for drinks and haven't had problems, but really disappointed with the service today.

Hottest day of the year, also being a Saturday... 2 members of staff behind the bar, it wasn't even busy for 33 degrees, but it still took 15 minutes to get a drink nevertheless.

Once again a big England game and not that busy but no bar staff!!! Disrespectful to the customers, it’s not cheap. Why can’t they prepare properly.

I’m a regular visitor as I only live just round the corner. I don’t normally do reviews, but today was absolutely awful. My wife and I both had cheeseburgers and to be honest they were terrible. Totally lacking in taste and swimming in grease! A McDonalds is better!

I work in London and at a weekend it’s great to just enjoy time out of the city! Always great choices on the menu and a brilliant selection of wines too! The team are always happy to see us return. Mel does a great job at keeping the pub clean and tidy! Personal favourite is the pies! If you love a pie then you need to visit this pub!

my self and a friend attended, very friendly and helpful member of staff called Ashleigh served us, they have a new menu that really good value for money, had a pizza sharer, food very good quality. Will be coming again :)

Well this place is filthy, full of empty plates and glasses. Massively understaffed and unable to cope with a busy day.

I have been going to this pub for over twenty years and have seen some major changes. But, since Mel has been running this pub, I have seen significant improvements and it is a great place for people of all ages, as the pub offers great food, sports and entertainment.

We usually come in with friends on a Tuesday night for the Quiz. Last couple of times we came in there have been no seats or tables free due to the busyness of the quiz. We went up-to the bar where our server Josh happily found us a table and 4 chairs from the other side and kindly brought them over to quiz. My wife and I ordered two meals which arrived quickly just before the quiz we began. Overall always an excellent experience with great pub food and will continue to come in every Tuesday in the future

I was greeted at the bar and served very quickly by a young man to equip us with our drinks which was a lovely start to my fiancé’s birthday, however, that was not the only highlight of the night, when we ordered our food it was delivered by a lovely young lady who was very polite who was very thorough and made sure we were happy with our service! Will definitely be coming back again!

We got a selection of meals and all tasted amazing a personal favourite was the vegetarian curry which was a perfect balance of flavour and mouth-feel with both heat and cool. However if you are feeling like you want a meat dish the steak is delicious! I feel as though the portions could have been larger but for the price it was very enjoyable.

Do not visit here. The food was disgusting the service was rude, and there was no respect shown to me or my family. A loose dog that belonged to a local was allowed to sniff our food and sit under the table even after we complained. We walked out and refused to pay after the starter. I won’t be subjecting my self to such a terrible experience again, I just hope you all take my word for it.

Had our Christmas lunch today and thought it was superb. The pub was really busy and we were pointed to our table straight away. It took approximately 15 minutes to get seen to which on a day like today is fully understandable.

I came to this pub for lunch as a treat for my autistic. I checked the signage which stated blue badge holder park free. So I put the blue badge in the window. Went in put our order in at the bar spoke to bar staff and said I had blue badge to which the bar person said that's ok. Had a lovely meal a few weeks later I received a parking fine for not purchasing a ticket so I appealed to which I was told I should of registered my car at the bar on a iPad thing. Which wasn't anywhere to be seen or offered to myself by any member of staff. I now have debt collection agencies after me as I'm not paying a fine for somebody else's incompetence. And despite trying to contact Inn on the green or green king on many occasions I've had no response. So although the food and atmosphere was lovely I wouldnt recommend this establishment

Nice atmosphere and quite busy on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately they don't seem to be prepared for wine drinkers as had no rose in the fridge.

On a very soggy bank holiday Sunday lunch time with the BBQ cancelled I and 5 friends returned to the inn on the green .

We recently visited The Inn for a lovely afternoon drink and some food, we sat in the delightful pub garden, we we served promptly and ordered some food. It arrived quickly and was great! We would definitely recommend this pub for food and a great pint!

Really recommended this pub we went here with my two kids and is a really family friendly pub and the food is nice and is reasonably priced, lovely garden to sit in and when the weather is nice, we will defiantly be going back.

Love visiting this pub, the garden is very large and you can eat in the garden which is nice in the warm weather. Food is great and very reasonable. Very friendly staff who are happy to help.

Although we had to pay for parking it was deducted from our bill. We were a party of 11 friends and had assorted meals. Whilst most of the meals were good the seasonal vegetables were very poor and overcooked. Service was slow and the last couple had to wait a long time to have theirs delivered. Atmosphere is quite pleasant and the staff on duty were pleasant. Some items were off the menu which didn't help. Convenient for us as a group but gthey could do better

Went for your average Friday night drinks with friends, and I was surprised to receive a fine for parking at their establishment. There were no clear signs,the ticket machine is hidden out of sight and the bar staff never commented that a ticket was needed to park, let alone a refund given if a ticket was shown. Have since received letters and debt collection threats... making this the dearest round of drinks I’ve ever purchased! Sad to say that we won’t be returning and will be taking our business elsewhere due to the disappointing experience.

The food and service was OK, however they have a pay & display car park. I had a meeting with a nearby company so paid for a few hours then went to the pub for lunch. I asked the barmaid about the ticket and she said we could stay as long as we liked as we were now customers of the pub.

Get ya money out to park and make sure you put the correct reg on the ticket or you will get fined as did some other people if you read their reviews. All parking costs are reimbursed when you buy a drink or food. It's to stop the train users abusing the car park.

We purchased a ticket and displayed on our car. Two weeks later we receive a Final parking charge notice, having not received the original notice. Contacted the pub who advised us to ignore any letters and that they would cancel. Have now received a letter from a debt collection company for the £160. Manager not available when pub is phoned, and advice from bar staff is to just ignore the notices, yet no written confirmation that the parking notice has been cancelled. Fined for being a loyal and regular customer. Will not be returning and will take to local press if not resolved.

Awful staff, SO RUDE, overpriced food which is always late, dart board never has chalk, just done with the place tbh.

we had a lovely big family Christmas meal last month - but today ourselves and 4 other from our family group have received a final reminder (1st letter we have received from them) from Britannia Parking for £160 for parking charges on this particular date. Luckily i happen to have saved my £2.00 parking ticket but the others have not and are worried that they will be forced to pay the fee. They are appealing but because they didn't save ticket they dont think they will be successful - as they dont have physical proof despite the fact they have witnesses and we were queuing behind each other to get the ticket. I think it is absolutely terrible that we had to pay to park in a pubs car park in the first place but to have private companies chase you for extortionate prices (£160 for a £2.00 fee). It seems to me that this pub doesn't think too much of their customers to put them through this stress - myself and our family will not be going there again

We had a fantastic night out here on Saturday. Great food, friendly atmosphere and the band Republic are well worth travelling to see. Local residents are lucky to have such a great pub on their doorstep.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon with work colleagues. There was around 7 of us so we chose the only large bench style table. When ordering at the bar the waitress asked us our table number, we said it was the big bench and she rudely said 'well I don't know the number' I felt like saying, sorry, don't you work here?!

My family & I visited for a Sunday Roast. We chose our roasts and went to the bar to order, to be told there were no roasts left and only 1 steak - this was surprising as it was 6pm on a Sunday and we'd also ordered drinks and weren't told there were no roasts or steaks previously. We all changed our orders and went back to the bar, only to be told there were no veggie burgers (this was one of our order changes). There's a bad selection of vegetarian food so this was disappointing. Orders were changed again.

5 friends and I went to lunch yesterday it having been some time since we were in Billericay .

Awful meal, advised it was a 30 minute wait and it took an hour to come to the table. Ordered roast beef but too chewy and fatty to eat and vegetables not cooked properly. It's not a cheap roast by any means so expected much better. I know we went on a Sunday so expected the football to be on but it was so loud you could not hear yourself talk. Really disappointed with the whole thing, will not be going there again as they didn't even reduce the bill after complaining.

Only one person serving and having to attend to food customers as well. Land lady sitting customer side of bar and the only bar server struggling. Lots of people unhappy with waiting so long. No order of serving as people being served when others waiting for long periods. Don't go here for a quick drink.

Service was good.we all ate diffrent meala on menu.one had spicey chicken.said it was not spicey at all.two had steaks they were ok.one had salmon and realy enjoyed it.coffees were half filled so we asked for more hot water.and that was no trouble so we was very happy.only one had dessert.ice cream and plenty there.so not rushed .had a very nice afternoon.would go.again.

Went with family on Mothers Day to find it very busy with lots of children running about. It seemed obvious that they had taken more bookings than they could cope with. The food took 75 mins to arrive. My roast chicken was a dried up leg and wing with skin on it. Two of our party were served the wrong dishes and the other meals were not up to standard and not well presented. The problem here seems to be not enough staff and cheap cuts of meat. The staff were doing their best and we were given a discount but it was very disappointing.

Went here for a lunch with colleagues in January. They used to do jacket potatoes but they seem to have been taken off the menu which seemed a strange thing to do in January when a lot of people are on diets. The only diet suitable food on the menu was salad which is not very satisfying in January. The food was very slow in arriving. I had a lasagne which was swimming in cheese and overcooked. My colleague had scampi and chips and it was burnt. She had the same last time we went there and it was burnt that time too.

Our party of 4 arrived at the Inn on the Green for Christmas Lunch and we were left very disappointed. Upon arrival, there was no member of staff to welcome diners and we had to queue up at the bar with everyone else who were just ordering drinks. I was served by the manageress who was totally lacking in any Christmas cheer whatsoever and when we explained that we were booked in for lunch she took us to our table which was located in corner of the bar away from the restaurant area and left us. We quickly decided that we did not want to eat our Christmas lunch surrounded by large groups of men drinking. I spoke to the manageress regarding changing our table and after some resistance we were moved to the restaurant area which was much better. The presentation of the table was basic and the only suggestion of Christmas was a red napkin and a Christmas cracker. I do have to say that the waitress working in the restaurant area was very cheery and helpful. However she appeared to be working alone most of the time so we purchased our drinks at the bar. The starters were ok although in my opinion, the portions were very small. The prawn cocktail and smoked salmon starter consisted of 5 to 6 prawns on a lettuce leaf with a sliver of salmon and a small pot of sauce. The main courses to be fair were very good with a good portion of meat and vegetables. The dessert was ok however again the portions were very small. I was a little bemused that our plates were being taken by the waitress as soon as someone finished their meal even though others at the table were still eating. I’m not sure if she was just being overzealous or whether there was a plate shortage. At the end of the meal there appeared to be some confusion in relation to whether our bill had been paid despite paying in advance by the 01/12/16 as requested. This was our fifth Christmas Lunch at the Inn on the Green and given our poor experience, we will not be returning. Our booking cost £200 and an additional £40 for drinks. This to us represented very poor value for money. The Inn on the Green used to be a friendly local pub however it has sadly continued to decline over the last couple of years and is desperately in need of new management who recognise the importance of good customer service and value for money.

My family of six have just left the Inn on the Green after having the Boxing Day dinner at 17.99. Big mistake as the menu looked good but the quality of the food was awful. I had prawn cocktail which consisted of a few prawns on lettuce leaf with a egg cup of rose marie sauce.Main course was Turkey with vegetables and trimmings.The vegetables were bland and the turkey was dry with very little taste. 5 of our party left a half plate of uneaten dinner I have visited The Inn on the Green on many occasions and found the food a bit hit and miss .After this experience I shall not be returning.

Whilst this pub now has another new manageress who seems to be on hand more than the previous one, the service can still be poor if they've got the rota of staff wrong. The main problem for me as a fairly regular visitor is that if there's more than a dozen people in there it is simply far too noisy. Brewery decided to remove most of the carpets and all the curtains so there's no soft furnishings to absorb the noise. People shout cos they can't hear each other, and therefore the noise levels go up even more and it's deafening. It seems to be a favourite haunt of mums who then allow their kids to run riot through the whole pub screaming at each other while they themselves drink wine and ignore their offspring, not great if you're trying to have a meal or a chat with friends. The pub needs a good deep clean, some new chairs and bar stools, bring back some carpet and curtains and then maybe it'll be a pleasant place to go. Beware if you go on a Tuesday and sit where the quiz night will be, the quiz master will come and ask you to move after about 5.30 even though the quiz starts after 7! Toilets need attention and the stupid wooden verandah at the front is already breaking apart - needs removing ASAP.

Had a lovely Christmas meal last night, food was fantastic and plenty of it. Chocolate orange cheesecake to die for. All staff were very helpful and moved our table to the corner with no fuss. This is a lovely pub and the new manager and staff are all very welcoming. Will def go back in the New year.

Usual menu but standard of food was terrible, shame as we try and eat here and support a local business.We waited over 40 minutes from ordering to receiving the food and when it arrived it was cold. Having waited so long we did explain it was cold and too be fair we were offered the opportunity to take it back to be warmed up.We declined the reheated food offer and had a go at eating what was in front of us. The manageress came over and genuinely apologised and offered a discount.The food as well as being cold was really not up the standard it should be, even in a pub. We suggested the chefs should be made to eat the food themselves especially the undercooked disgusting chips served with an overdone burger.The manageress and staff dealt with us well and without fuss and the problem here was definitely in the kitchen - either the chefs do not care what they are serving up or cannot cook. Either way I suggest a change is needed or you will find business such as ours will go elsewhere or stay at home.

I used to love this pub and used to meet there for family occasions and for lunch with friends. I went there yesterday and it was awful. They have changed the menu and the food was terrible. I had to take me sandwich back as the state of my sandwich for the price I paid I had to complain. My friends ordered macaroni cheese and it looked and tasted like it was out of a tin. We ordered a bottle of prosecco and was given a bottle that was already open and half full. All in all was very disapppointed as this used to be a great pub and the food was always lovely. Will have to find somewhere else to go now.

Another lunch in Billericay! We decided to visit this pub for a change. The location is good and the bar/restaurant are well presented. The food is reasonably priced and the service was timely and friendly. A nice place to catch up with friends.

Staff are trained to a good standard and always maintain a friendly attitude. Range of snacks is standard and as expected, but the food here (meals!) is really good. Open area and lovely garden, often feels busy but never cramped!

The pub itself is large, light and clean. However, the service and food at all this establishment is awful! Food is below par and probably cooked from frozen. I also get the impression the staff have never had previous bar experience. They have got no idea how to pour a glass of prosecco. Each time I've been I've received half a glass and they've even measured it out in some sort of measure cup! You literally get about two mouthfuls. No other bar in the world measures out a glass of prosecco! You are better off heading to another pub as this one is awful!
