Fell upon this restaurant after walking around trying to find something to temp us in with a 13 year old. We found it and it didn’t disappoint! A lovely warm welcome as we entered, attentive waitress (Annabel??) and amazing food with bags of flavours. Loved it and will be back when we visit Nottingham again. Thanks

Appalling choice of food, what was there was cold and looked dreadful !! Rice with hot dog sausages in , nothing chinese about it. Only a few dishes to choose from and they were only luke warm and full of chilli to hide the dreadful taste . Don't waste your time or hard earned money here , go elsewhere . Dreadful and appalling if I could give no stars I would . When I asked for the bill after 15 minutes the waitress asked if the food was nice, when I said no she looked really shocked and thought I was joking . I wouldn't serve that food to my dog. Stay away !!!!!

I dont know where to start. We travelled from Derby to Notts just to go to this Chinese restaurant, the experience was so bad that I don't even know where to begin, to be clear, we stayed for like 15 mins, and got a 20% discount at the end as I was very honest with the manager, then we went elsewhere to eat. Food was soggy, not hot, tasting old, chicken smelling and tasting bad , even our child was unable to eat nothing and he does eat anything! As I said, did not know where to start, the last thing I want to say is KEEP AWAY from this place! Don't waste your wonderful time here! You will be dearly disappointed! For sure you will!

So so bad. Only had 4 dishes, 2 fish, 1 tofu and then 1 beef and the beef was so tough. No taste other than chilli. It feels like Colombo street was too expensive so they’ve created this buffet idea to use up stock that was otherwise going to go to waste. Fried rice had squid in that was so tough that you couldn’t actually bite through it and it again on tasted of chilli. Very disappointed and will never come back.

Avoid at all costs. This is hands down the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. Absolutely disgusting. I'm so disappointed that I didn't just walk out. Went with friends who were hungry and we settled on this place. I wish we went elsewhere. One long trestle table with oil burners underneath big silver platters with lids. No room to leave the lids when you tried to get food out. There was 1 tofu, 2 fish, 1 chicken and 1 lamb dishes. Starters were supermarket quality vegetable spring rolls, the chicken wings were incredibly dry and barely had any chicken on them and prawn crackers that had been left under a heat lamp making them cardboard. And the worst bit was the big spoons or tongs you use to get the food out were kept in these black pots. They hadn't been changed for hours, if at all that day, so the pots were half filled with cold sauce, rice or noodles. I do not dare look at the hygiene rating as it must be very low. Just got home and my body feels gross. I feel like I want to vomit to get this greasy mess of food out of my body. It wasn't tasty. So disappointed in myself for choosing this place.

Booked all you can eat, the choices were very poor and basic with not much selection at all. Rice and noodles first, then main dishes were thai chicken curry, seafood curry and tofu. Food was luke warm. Staff didn't come to the table and take drinks until asked and you couldn't order yourself at the bar after waiting so long! Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't eat here again. Sorry!

Nice setting but the music was like elevator music and didn’t fit. Selection of dishes wasn’t very big or interesting. No prawn toast, wings, ribs but chicken nuggets! Service was slow, we were near the end of our first plate before drinks arrived and it wasn’t even busy. Waited just as long for a jug of water. The food wasn’t hot. Had to use a warm plate for desert. Best thing about it was the lemon drizzle cake! Don’t waste your time, May Sum is miles better.

Just been here for a buffet lunch on a Friday afternoon. Dantha served us and all the staff including the cooks from the kitchen were very friendly, polite and attentive. The food was all hot and fresh. For £15 a head, this has to be one of the best value lunch spots in the whole city! I can’t see why they would receive any bad reviews but if they were genuine, they have certainly acted on the feedback. Great value, good food and lovely staff!

Unfortunately, despite the restaurant looking quite nice and the a la carte menu looking like an appealing choice, the buffet is not good at all. The choices were extremely limited, for example you had a choice of two rice dishes and a noodle dish as your carbs, then two chicken dishes as a main. The normal plethora of fried starters you expect at an Asian buffet were also non-existent with you having the choice of dry fried chicken wings or vegetable spring rolls. We came on a Saturday evening, and it was not particularly busy. They ran out of plates and cutlery whilst we were there which is definitely a first for me at a buffet. It also took a while to replenish the few dishes they had. Overall, was very dissatisfied to spend £15 per person here with the current offering. The only positive I can give is the staff, who were all warm and friendly to interact with. They should embrace the main restaurant which I believe is Sri Lankan cuisine and scrap the buffet.

Has expectations of an all you can eat buffet but left feeling disappointed and had to go elsewhere for food. The options were so small, about 5/6 dishes you could choose from, 2 of which were tofu and fish leaving us 3/4 dishes. Had to wait for these to be replenished so our first 2 plates consisted of rice and crackers. Options were nothing like the website portrayed. So disappointed. Even the Coca Cola was bad and how can you get that wrong? Paired with ice cubes which tasted like stale tap water we really didn’t enjoy this place. We travelled an hour for an all you can eat as well as 2 for 1 cocktails to be told they finish the offer at 5pm… no mention of that online! If we had a better service we would have felt more comfortable to ask for a refund. Paid £15 each for some rice and overheated chips with dry nuggets. We ended up having to eat elsewhere walking around in a place we weren’t familiar with. I would not recommend this

Upon entering INDO CHINESE, the initial impression was reminiscent of a hastily arranged wedding spread rather than a restaurant dining experience. The disappointment deepened as we discovered the sparse selection of dishes, with most of them needing replenishment upon our arrival. This resulted in our first plates being limited to rice and noodles. The available options were predominantly fish and tofu, with only one lamb dish, one beef dish, and one chicken dish to choose from. Unfortunately, the quality of these offerings fell short of our expectations, leaving much to be desired. I've experienced better variety and taste at home-cooked all-you-can-eat meals. Adding to the disappointment was the subpar service. We waited approximately 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, only to learn that the two-for-one cocktails, which were advertised, were only available until 5 pm—a detail conspicuously absent from their social media and website. Disheartened, we settled for three cokes, which were served with ice that tasted like stale tap water. Overall, our experience at INDO CHINESE was far from satisfactory. From the lackluster selection of dishes to the disappointing service and beverage quality, we left feeling thoroughly dissatisfied.

And let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The exceptional service, inviting atmosphere, and delectable food remained consistent. The fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors was executed flawlessly. As a vegetarian, I often face challenges in finding satisfying food options, however, they amazed me by offering an incredible array of vegetarian options that left me spoilt for choice. Having seen many adverts for this place we thought we would try it out. I wish I hadn't bothered. Seated very quickly we were told that the buffet was open... 2 options of dry rice, only a couple of mains and a few pieces of fruit for desert does not a buffet make. If we had been offered a menu we may have been able to enjoy ourselves. The chafing dishes were full, but with lukewarm and unappealing food. In total I paid £15 a head (plus drinks) to leave still hungry. I very rarely say that I'll never return to a restaurant, always choosing to give places a second chance... this is definitely one I won't be returning to.

We celebrated our friend's birthday tonight at the restaurant, and it was a really pleasant experience. The food, reminiscent of Indian street-style Chinese food, was enjoyable. The chef, possibly the owner/manager, & the staff, went above and beyond, crafting a complimentary pastry even after their closing time. That was such a warm gesture. The serving staff was composed and courteous as well. We plan to recommend this place to our friends and family. A heartfelt thank you to the restaurant team for the exceptional hospitality. Saw Indo Chinese via an Instagram post and thought it would be great for a date night. We dined on the evening of Sunday 3rd December. As we approached the restaurant. There seemed to be two restaurants? Or two entrances? We must have looked silly trying to decide which door to walk into. I could see a staff member(?) near a computer / till looking at us outside. We decided to go through the door further from the staff member(?) and waited a few seconds before being seen and seated by a male staff member. A female staff member knew my name for the booking which was nice and we also arrived slightly earlier than our booking. The restaurant is colourful and bright but the music was very odd and did not suit the restaurant. The music did not suit the name or the food that Indo Chinese served and it was loud enough to hear it to the point of it being annoying. Some foods like the Momo dumplings, chicken wings and the fries tasted like they were on the food warmer for a while, which made the experience go down for me. The mains were fine Chicken Manchurian and Prawn Thai Curry but nothing special. Annoying part of the Prawn Curry was that the prawns were with shells, which made my food lukewarm. The food lacks identity and individualism, though it was good but felt like something you could make at home. Staff were friendly and polite, I could not fault this. If someone told me that they were going to dine at this restaurant I would tell them the above, but I would not stop them from going. You should experience this restaurant for yourself. Nice touch to have glass bottled Coca Cola and lovely farewell given by staff.

Will start with good points that the presentation of food looked delicious and forgot to take pics of them. Secondly the chicken wings were really tasty. Disappointed from the moment when got called regarding the booking confirmation as confused about the Restuarant. Thought that booked Indo Chinese but got called from Columbo Street. Misunderstanding is that it’s two restaurants in one. Also being told really busy over the phone and when being sat down in the restaurant, made me a little uneasy and not welcomed. Personally think, they should call it one Restuarant and have both menus in one for people to decide what they want to eat. It was my friends Birthday & Wedding Anniversary, went to drop the cake off and was greeted with someone who couldn’t speak English and didn’t understand time of the booking or the name until he called someone else. It took 40min to get our starters out in which they served 3 other tables before us who nearly finished their food before receiving our starters. Then get a starter wrong which was supposed to be peking duck rolls instead received vege spring rolls even though we ordered 2 peking duck rolls. Made a complaint and received the peking duck rolls with the main which tasted good. The waiters were unintuitive as ordered 3 same drinks and only received two and then had to wait 20min for another 2 drinks. We all had different meals which tasted nothing like Indo Chinese food as there was no spice or flavour. The chicken was rubbery and felt more like quorn chicken. The constant of different people serving at the table brought the mistake of a birthday surprise cake going wrong by coming over and asking the birthday boy whose birthday it was and should serve the cake to. The person who came to the table was the manager who also knew I organised everything and also asked me to tell him who the birthday person is when arrives. But decides to ask someone else. Really should have sections for waitering staff who look after the same tables so mistakes like that don’t happen. Then to top it off, took another 20min to try getting the cake to the table at which point the we were all fed up with the lack of service and decided to take the cake home and cut it instead. I’ve never experienced such low standard service and food before. Manager offered 20% discount off the bill and a free complimentary dinner for me and my wife but I don’t think will return there.

Small Portions, Great Ambiance I visited the restaurant with my husband to try some food. Starting with drinks, we ordered a soft drink and a latte. The latte was well-made and creamy. However, the moment our starters arrived was disappointing because the portion sizes were extremely small for the price charged. It felt more like a taste test than actual starters. The veg momos were not handmade; it seemed like three pieces were taken from their freezer. The main dishes had decent portion sizes. The Chicken Manchurian wasn't Manchurian; it was chicken chunks cooked in their Manchurian sauce. The service and ambiance were great; the only letdown was the starters and main course portions being much smaller than what other restaurants offer.

Indo Chinese is a very popular fusion cuisine in India, both street food and restaurants. So when we heard about it in Nottingham, we wanted to try. Cumin Lamb triumphed with it's flavours but the rest of the order let us down. Hakka noodles should have been more rounded dry noodles rather than sticky flat ones. Chilli Paneer didn't have that Indo Chinese touch. Nasi Goreng was alright but has never been part of Indo Chinese cuisine. Portions are small. Service was abysmal as the waiter was not very responsive or attentive at all. When asked to add hot water to tea pot, he removed the teabag and just filled it up with water. He didn't replace the cutlery and was taking his own time in clearing even though it was not busy. He definitely needs some lessons in customer service.

Tried this place out tonight, food was really good however I ended up paying £12.50 for a bowl of noodles. T'would usually come with egg (Laksa Noodle dish) but says it can be veganised so I chose this option thinking it would come with a bit more substance. A simple meal certainly won't be the death of me, i just think going forward they should consider value for money regarding vegan options. For those wondering the noodles albeit plain looking were wonderful.

Guys , you either sack your cleaners , or come in early and clean all the dust, dead flies and cobwebs from your windowsills, it’s pulling you down, otherwise I’d have given you 5 stars

Honestly, one of the best places to have some nice food and spend some quality time. It’s my second time here already in this month. Veg manchurian is the best! 💕 The first time we were here, we were served by Dantha and Nethmi, the best! Service was amazing today as well. Thank you guys! 💖

4.7 to be precise. Service and Atmosphere is a 5 star. Amazing interior design and great service. Food was great but could have been a little better. Manchurian dish was amazing. Paneer chilli was very tangy, a little too sweet for my taste..veg spring rolls not so great.

I visited this new Chinese restaurant in Nottingham. The ambiance is excellent. The decor is beautiful. The food is tasty and affordable. Waiters were attentive and polite. Cocktails were superb worth visiting for them alone. Highly recommended.

Ordered from this restaurant via Deliveroo tonight and I'm so disappointed. The mixed seafood was overcooked/chewy, the sweet and sour chicken was hard/tasted reheated and the egg fried rice tasted dry and reheated. Avoid this place at all costs.

Saw this place pop up for the first time and was curious how a fusion of Indian and Chinese food would work. The food I had tonight did not disappoint and had me finishing off every possible drop. This is a must try spot and highly recommend this to anybody who has a mouth and fancies taking in on a journey. This maybe my new fav

I thought I’d try Sri Lankan but ended up getting some Indo Chinese food. I loved the atmosphere of the place because of the cool pop art. The Naso Goreng was outstanding and the hot cutter calamari was a treat!
