Excellent Find. Both starters and mains were excellent. Had the Lamb shank which fell off the bone - great flavour and so tender. Also tried the Arancini as a starter which was a great fusion of flavours.

The ambience is good and the place is clean. It is a nice cosy spot. The food is not bad, however, it is not an Indian restaurant but a curry restaurant. The prawns were fresh, however, the lamb shank was too salty which was rectified when brought to the attention of the servers. However, the currys are more British currys than Indian currys and that was a big let down for us. We really wanted this to be a local spot for us.

Our time was a delight! We wanted some great food and amazing atmosphere and we got all the and more. Thank you for an amazing evening.

First time visiting last week and left slightly disappointed. Food was ok but a bit bland. The service was not good either. The restaurant was extremely busy and it took us around 30 minutes to order our food. When ordering, I asked for a side sauce and received a rather brash response from the waiter saying no I couldn't have that due to the kitchen being too busy. We had to chase the waiters for drinks / table water and when we ordered additional sauces for the poppadom's, this took around 10 minutes, so by the time they arrived our poppadom's were cold. Overall, too many people in the restaurant affecting food quality and overall service.

Visited here on Mother's Day with a large group. We found the food was quite plain and bog standard but the lamb rogan josh was pleasant... overall lackluster and not the quality expected from an award winning restaurant. Maybe focus more on taste rather than presentation of the dishes. Also, too many waiters faffing about and in such a hurry to clear plates from the table and leaning over us to do so whilst we're eating; incredibly off-putting. Lastly, I didn't feel it was necessary for your employees to start having conversations with eachother in another language. It's outright rude. Would not recommend, will not be returning.

We've visited indian room in person and have had take out twice now. I think dining in is probably the best experience, if anything, but we won't be returning, unfortunately. We ordered the samosa/pakora with veg biriyana, veg massala, tandoori king prawns, Kalidall, and garlic naan. Honestly the only thing with ok flavour was the veg massala, all the rest were either flavourless, had too much salt, too oily, the naan was unfortunately too hard to eat and the biriyani and kalidall both had terrible after tastes. We received complementary poppadoms and sauces, too. We actually had the wrong order first delivered with a meal that wasn't ordered but had spilt out in the entire bag. They swiftly tried to rectify this by sending out replacements for the items missed/damaged, but even the replacements were still not great. We spent £60 upsettingly and won't make the same mistake again.

Food was really tasty, freshly cooked, and the price was very reasonable for the portions served. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The flavours of all the dishes were just right, not too salty or too bland. Would certainly recommend this place.

I just celebrated my 24th birthday, and by goodness me! It is now Wednesday, and I am still recovering from the delights and pleasures of this unbelievable cuisine! The hospitality was sublime, the food was marvellous and although at first I thought the butter was a little too spicy for me, it turned out to be just right. I managed to get a little container taken away for lunches this week. I have made a conscious effort not to indulge in too much lunch each day, so I have some left over for the next! Honestly, a great place. My name is Tom Donaldson and this place sponsors my cricket club, the Warwick Knight Riders, and it’s really good food. If I’m honest I’ve had a tough year, but I’ve got a good job now and have a really good friendship group, really good guys. I think that’s what matters in life at the end of the day, if you can go to bed saying “god, I really love my friends”, it’s a good day.

I recently dined at Indian Room in London, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm welcome and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. The menu offers a great variety of classic Indian dishes, and every bite was full of authentic flavors. I ordered the butter chicken, which was incredibly creamy and rich, with just the right level of spice. The lamb biryani was another highlight—aromatic, perfectly cooked, and packed with tender, flavorful lamb. The garlic naan was freshly made, soft, and the ideal accompaniment to the meal. Service was excellent—the staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to make recommendations based on preferences. They made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. To end the meal, I tried the gulab jamun, which was warm, syrupy, and the perfect sweet treat. Paired with a refreshing mango lassi, it was the perfect way to round off the meal. Overall, Indian Room delivers outstanding Indian cuisine with top-notch service in a lovely setting. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious and authentic Indian food in London!

Fabulous meal with family. 50% off all food was a great offer but the food was so great we would have happily paid full price. I had the mixed tandoori platter which was delicious. Whole family enjoyed our meals. Great service and interior decor. Can't wait to come back.

This restaurant really is top of its games. They allowed me to book a table for 24 and could not have been more thorough in the planning of my evening. The food is top quality and the service was prompt given how much we ordered.

Here because I can’t write a 0 star review/ request for a full refund on uber eats!! There was no salt to begin with in any of the dishes I ordered (butter chicken and naan along with chicken tikka shashlik) It is really suprising that these standard dishes were so disappointing. Would not recommend.

This is regarding an online delivery so I can’t comment on service and atmosphere. I’ll get the one positive out the way, the tiny bit of sauce in the prawn puree had a nice flavour. There should have been more sauce and they were stingy with the prawns. Also I needed a chainsaw to cut through the puree bread. The pilau rice was fine. The lamb Roganjosh was the worst I’ve ever had. Tasted nothing like one, was way too bitter and had a funny aftertaste. Really annoyed as I feel like I’ve just thrown £40 in the bin.

Really good meal. Lemon rice was a particular highlight and keema naan that was crisp and not greasy was a treat. My chicken patia was excellent- great spice and the Tarka dhal was delicious

Tasty food, nicely prepared and efficient service in a nice setting. It was a 6.30pm booking and they rushed us through like a whirlwind. A small line developed inside waiting, don't sit by the door! They pressured us by pouring beer, cleaning plates away rather aggressively and pestering the 3 of us and then asked us to move on. No mention of this was made at the booking time. We had just over and hour there! Happy to try Gurkhas next time as it left us frustrated.

This was one of the best Indian meals I have had in London. We had several dishes which were all delicious, especially the tarka daal. The service was fantastic and I'll definitely be back! Couldn't recommend higher.

I am a regular diner at the Indian room in Balham and it always delivers. This visit was no different. Excellent traditional Indian restaurant fare but presented in a modern contemporary fashion hitting every note you want from a good Anglo Indian meal. Tentative service, food promptly delivered and absolutely delicious.

Service was excellent, food excellent, decor and vibe excellent. Would I eat there again? Yes Is it right next door to the train station for easy access ? Yes Was it the best Indian food we have had? Yes Yes id recommend this place - no need to think just go there.

Waited a long time to order food and drinks. Drinks took a long time to come to the table. Restaurant was freezing due to takeaway delivery drivers holding the door open. Staff did nothing to address the problem.

Another delicious meal at the Indian Room! We had a Jalfrezi and a Tikka, both were very flavoursome 🌶️. The service was also very attentive as always and very friendly too!! We will absolutely be back soon for another delicious dinner ☺️

I got an early evening Saturday booking and discount on The Fork; upon arrival, the ambience and lighting and atmosphere was calm and lovely. In terms of food, I was impressed with the artistic presentation of the starter; the mains were great too! The staff were helpful and food was served in good time! Grateful for this experience!

The food was excellent and service impeccable. The food all tasted fresh and wonderfully seasoned. They were spot-on with their heat ratings. The restaurant is long and narrow and a bit tight. It was lively and fun for a group but it might not be your thing if you are looking for quiet or romance. It was perfect for what we were looking for. I would gladly return there for a meal.

I love this restaurant. I have been going for years. Food is tasty and very consistent in quality. However in recent years the portions have got smaller ( disguised by smaller plates and dishes) and the prices have slowly increased. I know this issue is not unique to this restaurant but a casual curry now costs £40 here with one drink, and perhaps you might leave hungry. Hard review to write but I'd expect the price to at least stay static with reduced portions sizes...
