We cannot rate the Indian Ocean enough. They are our usual go to for a takeaway & it’s always 10/10 but wanted to share that we used them to cater for a party we had on the weekend. We had a lamb biryani & vegetable curry & it was fantastic! Full of lamb, LOADS of food, most people had 3 servings it was so good!! Do not hesitate to use them for bigger events aswell as your takeaway! The even delivered it to our door, in time for when we needed it & with all the serving spoons etc. Thanks guys, for such a great help for our party

We ordered curry and sides for 50 people the night before our wedding and were amazed at fantastic the food and portions were huge! Everything came neatly packaged and it was so much food we are still working our way through the leftovers from the freezer. We always order from Indian Ocean because their food is consistently delicious, we have never had a complaint in over 15 years as customers. The team are friendly and we are so grateful they were able to cater for our wedding on short notice. Highly recommend, best Indian in Exmouth!

This wasn’t up to the usual high standards… the chicken in the pakora was hard and dry. The onion bahji was greasy (usually the best in the town) and fell apart. The paneer wasn’t as well cooked as previously. Overall it was disappointing.

I read the reviews to ensure I was hopefully getting a good warm tasty curry sad to say that it really was not :( popadoms were stale, the curry’s looked and tasted nigh on the same even though they were different dishes. The Pakora was soggy and cold and we were missing a dip . £44 not well spent - do not recommend

After 15 years this was not a good meal! Nothing tasted like it should or has been? so I rang to make sure Indian Ocean was the delivering restaurant and not curry cottage (same owner)! Sadly it was Indian Ocean! I will let this one go but will wait a while until I order again

We order fairly regularly from Indian Ocean & are always pleased with food, it’s always good & piping hot, highly recommended Indian Ocean.

This was the best curry me and my partner have ever had! On holiday to Exmouth and ordered in person. Had a Lamb Pathia and a Chicken Jalfrazi. The service was amazing and we only waited for 10 minutes. The meals, plus Pilea rice, 1 huge garlic naan bread and 2 complimentary poppadoms with dips only came to £26. Firstly, there was enough food to feed an army. The dip for the poppadoms was amazing! The lamb melted in your mouth, the best I've ever had in a curry. The chicken pieces were huge and tender and the curry itself felt very fresh and full of vegetables, really amazing. The nan was huge, thick and lots of garlic. I wish I lived in Exmouth. We will be back next year. Thanks again for the amazing meal guys!

I recently ordered food from Indian Ocean take away in Exmouth.The food arrived on time and was on the surface ok and tasted reasonable . Unfortunately I decided to check the food standard rating after which I was mortified to see was only 2!!! This is extremely low and very worrying. The rating was from a check in October 23 so current!! The low rating refers to cleanliness, pest control etc and I really wish I'd checked before ordering as it's true to say I wouldn't have. I never will again!! I'm just sorry I've eaten the food without knowing environment it was made in. Always check food standards rating so you know what you're eating and the environment it from. Not surprising the standards rating is not displayed on the window as is usual.

Absolutely fabulous food! We are vegetarian and find sometimes restaurant food lacks flavor but Indian Ocean is amazing!! The food is excellent quality and my favorite is the saag paneer which they make it PHALL hot for me my husband loves the veggie vindaloo they are both absolutely delicious, the portions are huge we get it delivered and always have 2 days worth of food from just 1 order Thank you guys see you soon

Recently went back to Indian Ocean for a takeaway having not been there for a while. The food taste wise was good. Decent amount of chicken in the curry’s. The rice was ok. Prices had gone up quite a bit since last time but thankfully there was a 20% offer on otherwise we wouldn’t have bothered. Biggest issue was the food temperature. Picked it up at the time I was meant to, drove 5 minutes home and it was all stone cold. Not mildly cold from the journey, absolutely stone cold. I’m going to guess it had been made early and they were going to reheat it, which is bad practice anyway, but they clearly forgot to do the reheating bit and as a result we had to do it, so not great on that front.

The food time was extremely late, which is so unlike these guys. I gave the poor delivery guy a hard time and feel awful for it :o( (Sorry Mr Delivery man) It was the England rugby semi-finals, so possibly run off their feet?? A bit more of a 'heads up' that they would have been so late, would have been good though? Or even taken off the delivery charge for 1hr 35min delay!

Totally inept. I honestly have no idea how this place is still in business. We ordered a delivery 24 hours in advance, and we're now sitting here waiting, an hour after it was supposed to be delivered. They won't even answer calls! Disgusting.

We live in Budleigh and have used this takeaway for years; it is consistently amazing! Having had curries in Bristol and Surrey over the decades, this is the best ever! The quality of the dishes (prawn purée, dhansak, saag etc) is incredible. Service is great too. So lucky to have this fabulous takeaway on the doorstep!

Absolutely recommend the Indian ocean Exmouth. Food is incredible & full off authentic spices & taste. The portions are crammed to bursting in the containers & most of all the guys in there are very kind & courteous & nothing is too much trouble! It was my first time visiting & I will most definitely be going back!

Delivered takeaway - this is our favourite Indian food place in Exmouth, we have never been disappointed since moving back here 6 years ago and though it was high time we share our experiences. Food delivered fast by friendly folks, it's piping hot, bursting with flavour, meats succulent and sauces thick and rich. Naan breads amazing, plump, soft and delicious whether, plain, filled to accompany meals or as kebabs. Highly recommend Indian Ocean.

Wonderful tasty food, I love the hot lamb Naga, very hot but the flavours are fantastic, have tried several dishes and all fantastic flavours with proper spices highly recommend wonderful.

Ordered mango chutney that I did not receive.. on the menu chips are shown as plain or with salad.. I ordered with salad.. no salad received! Chips were very chewy.. I’m guessing re warmed.. Chicken chatt tasted bitter and the bread was very greasy.. Quantity was good but overall.. I was not impressed
