If you haven't tried Indian Cottage yet, you don't know what you are missing. The food is amazing at this restaurant, and the prices are very reasonable. Great service too from the friendly staff. This is the best Indian food you will find in Cheltenham.

Lovely cosy Imdian restaurant. Large selection of dishes, and plenty of vegetarian options. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Nice selection of wines to go with our meal. Group of four and we all enjoyed our various choices. .

Lovely place with lovely staff who cater to all kinds of people! Fair play to them all on the stellar service. What they do with a poppadom is absolutely genius!

Celebrating our wedding anniversary. We've eaten here a few times now, wonderful service every time. This evening was no exception. Great food , really good menu selection. We were camping near Cheltenham and this was recommended by our campsite. Our was a great find as the food was top class.

I was in the restaurant last night 19/7/24 and although the food looked and tasted good that is where it ended. Sadly I’ve had very bad food poisoning after eating the chicken shashlik.

We usually order a takeaway for delivery from Indian Cottage and it is always faultless. Last night we were nearby so decided to collect but ended up dining in the restaurant after feeling very welcome. The food was amazing and the service equally as good with staff being very friendly and helpful with the right balance of leaving you to enjoy your meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. I'd highly recommend Indian Cottage both to dine in and for a takeaway. Thanks for a lovely evening.

I have eaten here several times recently. Each time everything we ordered was fantastic, the service was great, the atmosphere perfect, and it’s on my doorstep. Far better food than pretty much everywhere else in Cheltenham. You should expand!

We called last minute on a Saturday evening and they kindly accommodated us. Service was second to non, polite, attentive and quick to bring us anything we asked for all the while with happy smiling faces…. Nothing was too much trouble…. And the food was right up there with the best we have tasted! I’d certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area, its well worth a visit and we will definitely return. Of all the tandoori’s we’ve been to I think this is one of the best ones! Their peshwari naan was to die for and then I haven’t started talking about the other dishes… we loved it!!!

Have used this venue a few times and has become my go to for Indian cuisine. Just had the Himalayan Lamb and it's the best lamb Indian dish I've had for this type of venue. Full of flavour and a nice glossy rich sauce there was plenty of meat and had a subtle punch of spice. Usual selection of breads and rice with a broad range of dishes to choose from. Staff very helpful and great customer service.

My friend and I meet up regularly for a curry and catch up and decided to visit here for the first time on Tuesday 02/04/2024. We booked a table for 6pm as previous reviews suggested it might be busy but on arrival we were the only eat in diners, but better to be safe than sorry. We received a warm welcome and after seated we ordered 2 poppadoms each and a bottle each of Kingfisher lager. All good so far, crispy poppadoms and refreshing lager. We were asked if we were ready to order and the waiter made some really good suggestions which we decided to go for. Lamb Laal Maas and Achari chicken, mushroom rice, garlic naan. The lamb dish was madras spice strength and the Achari chicken slightly less, the two dishes together complimented each other really nicely. Both were hot on arrival, we shared the rice and naan and there was ample food for two people. Well, we both agreed this was by far one of the nicest meals we’d had. The lamb meat itself was sublime. The chicken was delicious. The curry sauce in each dish, really really good. The naan bread, again was really good. We were checked upon regularly by the staff and made sure everything was ok. The total bill came to around £50 which we felt was fantastic value considering the standard of food, the service and portion size. Needless to say we left a generous tip and will definitely return. Do not worry about the negative reviews, they must have been very unlucky. The food from this place is amazing coupled with excellent service, all at such a reasonable price. We’d definitely recommend. Brilliant.

Lovely little place, was extremely busy which is a good sign and we weren't disappointed. Only minor issue was slightly greasy, otherwise really nice.

First time ordering from here. Placed order at 1900 arrived at 20:15, said it would take roughly 30 minutes to arrive. Already late by 45 minutes, food was cold. Did not enjoy at all!

Matar paneer was sweet which was horrible. Not enough salt in the other 2 dishes. Not an authentic Indian restaurant. Too much food colouring and samosas were too oily.

Really wanted to like this place and have given it a couple of chances, but sadly today was the final straw. The first takeaway we had was amazing, but second was dreadful, cold greasy and tasteless. We thought we'd give them another go, but sadly it's got worse, the food was cold and again greasy and tasteless, but worst of all, I've now become unwell, I don't want to go into detail's but let's say it's unpleasant. Such a shame

Had a delivery of food just now. Over an hour late, ordered a prawn korma and received a chicken korma. Wouldn’t be as bad except but i’m a pescatarian 😂

Superb food and always a great service from these guys when it comes to ordering from Indian Cottage. A true gem in what may seem unassuming from outside. Highly recommend! Gorgeous curries that always taste amazing with just the right amount of spice! It really does seem that you take great care in your food prep and ensuring the customer feels incredibly welcome! Definitely a restaurant more locals and visitors of Cheltenham should check out! Indian Cottage does not disappoint.

A friend recommended we try the Indian Cottage and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We live in Tewkesbury so made the 15 minute journey. I can honestly say it was the best curry I’ve ever eaten. We were made very welcome and looked after incredibly well. We will definitely go again and wholeheartedly recommend the Indian Cottage.

Ridiculously good sleeper restaurant. I'm half indian and grew up in the east end, so I know good Indian food! These guys take me by surprise every time. Some of the best I've had in the UK. The dishes are made with everyone in mind so nothing overly challenging (I wish the shatkora was drier and more sour!) so everyone should have a great time eating here.

Ordered for a 6.15 delivery slot as that's when I would be home and ready to eat. Turned up at 5.30 when we'd only just got back, by the time we ready for it it was cold. Doesn't really matter though as food was bland and tasteless anyway. Literally just a plain over sweetened sauce with a few chunks of meat in it. Nothing else, its not Indian food. Wasn't impressed.

This is our local and we finally got round to visiting. Booking a table at 6pm on a Tuesday evening I was expecting us to be sat in a near empty restaurant but it was a fantastic hive of activity. All of our food was absolutely delicious (fave was lamb chatinnad) and the service was great too.

The sauce so nice I love so much. But the lamb taste different as first time I had. The lamb has really dry smoked flavour.

Amazing Indian food…wish I lived closer to enjoy it more. The kids even liked it, which is saying something.

Had the chicken Rogan Josh with coconut rice and it was absolutely delicious. Chicken was tender and so so good and was even given a takeaway box to take my left overs home. Even reheated the food was delicious 🤤 Staff was amazing and very lovely. Would recommend 10/10!!

Our biryanis were microwaved. Not too bad taste, but took the gloss off. Also, is it normal to charge for chutneys with poppadoms. Always thought they were included.

Amazing flavoursome food, with some Great vegetarian options. The portion size is a really good portion size, especially for the price. We worked out that at our previous favourite restaurant that we got less food and paid £10 more, we haven’t gone back to them since we found Indian cottage.

Had my first takeaway lamb biryani from Indian Cottage yesterday (ordered through Deliveroo). This had just the right amount of spice and the lamb was well cooked. Usually a biryani doesn’t have a lot of spicy flavour but this was absolutely gorgeous. The accompanying curry sauce was also lovely and full of vegetables. Will definitely order from here again

Food good value and tastes amazing.

I ordered food for collection last night, and it was delicious. The menu is quite extensive, ordering by phone was quick and easy, the food was ready at the time they said it would be (30 minutes after I phoned – ideal!), and they were very friendly too. We ordered plenty of food and have leftovers that I’m looking forward to taking down tonight. The main curries were delicious, but the veg sides were amazing too. They got all the small details right too: the salads and pickles that came with the poppadoms were fresh, and the rice was good. A great meal at a really good price (especially after the 20% collection discount). EDIT: It's also really nice inside if you want to eat in; not too many tables and a relaxed atmosphere.

Very disappointing, food arrived cold, the Tandoori King Prawns was just two prawns!!, nan bread felt like it had just come out of the fridge.

AVOID!! Over 1.5hrs late, arrived stone cold, so refused to take it and sent it back. Called twice and was lied to both times about when to expect it. They quite laughably tried to avoid giving me a refund when I told them I refused to accept it from their driver, and instead wanted to give me credit on a future order!!!

Not happy with the food. X 2 veggie currie sauce really thin and tasteless. Chicken curry seemed to be cooked by someone who has no experience of cooking a curry. Food was cold. Will not be ordering from here again.

Best delivery curry in Cheltenham and we have tried them all, have been ordering curry from cheltenham for the last 30 years. They are so polite . We ordered just before they closed and still the food was fantastic. They are always polite and always punctual. Believe me this is the only curry house you need. Thanks guys.

I have been using this restaurant to eat in, takeaway and delivery from the first week it opened. I visit very regularly. On every occasion I have received fantastic, friendly service from the front of house team, delicious hot food with generous portions and at reasonable prices. Lovely to be able to have a quick beer while I'm waiting too. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys and there are some specials which aren't even on the menu. Just ask. There is a 20% discount for collection too. Infuriated to read the very few negative reviews on here. Either they've confused the restaurant with another or they're the usual ones put up by rivals. Try this place out and see for yourselves.

Don't get a takeaway, it just won't turn up and nobody will tell you why or do anything about it.

Ordered a curry @ 6.40pm, said it would be with me at 7.09pm, the time now is 8.05pm, still waiting for it. I have rang twice, first time no apology & said it would be 5-10 mins at 7.40pm. Called again at 8pm, still saying 5-10 mins, then had the audacity to hang up on me. So at this present time I cannot rate the food. First time here & totally disappointed!!

Food was delicious. The vegetable rice was really great and a good mix of vegetables to. Korma and tikka masala were both delicious and the keema naan was lovely and soft. Thanks Indian Cottage we will definitely order again.

Arrived 40 minutes late, cold. Starter was subpar and we didn't eat the main just defrosted a curry we had made it was that bad.... £10.95 for basically a handful of tiny dry bits of chicken in butter.... never again!

Wish I could give zero stars. Abysmal service, food was delivered 40 minutes late and it wasn’t even my order and not even an apology when I chased it up! Take my advice and avoid these jokers like the plague!
