If I could give this place zero stars I would. This was the worse Indian food perhaps the worse food I have ever eaten. Ridiculously salty, dirty with hairs in the food. I refused to pay and walked out and I would never do that but it was totally inedible

We live very close to the Sitar but such is the decline in the quality of its takeaway food in recent years that we have reverted to this old favourite that used to be called The Gulshan. We have used it a number of times during the lockdown and have always been more than happy with the quality of the food. My daughter says that the Vegetable Biryani is wonderful and my wife thinks that the Chicken Tikka Masala is the best she's ever tasted. As for me, I always have the Bhuna Kofta meatballs which are a spicy taste sensation. Oh and the Onion Bhajis are flaky, moist and very tasty. Keep this up Indian Chef and you will always have our custom!

We ate here for the first time on the EOTHO scheme. The service was poor, slow and unfriendly. The food took a long time to arrive and was cold. Despite ordering different dishes they all looked and tasted similar.

11 of us visited on Saturday evening, the place was empty and can understand why. We sat down and the older waiter straight away tried to force 10 bottles of cobra's on us, bare in mind we had a 9-year-old with us, When going round asking for drinks he rudely told one of the ladies to be quiet whilst he tried to work out how many bottles of beer we required. At this point, we had to tell him how many beers we needed as he seemed to be struggling. 30 minutes later we finally received our drinks and still had not ordered food. Onto ordering food, this became more and more of a challenge as the waiter clearly did not know what was on the menu, when a few of us requested items, we got a response of "not sure thats on the menu" even though we were sat starring a the menu at the time, this prolonged us order food as we had to explain and point out on the menu what we requested. When the food arrived we all ordered individual Naan bread, however, this was pre-cut and stacked on to small plates and we, therefore, had to pass the plates around the table as they had mixed all the Naan Breads. The main course itself was sub-par, some dishes the bowls were swimming in Oil. As we all finished we then asked for the bill, out came another member of staff only one can think he owned the restaurant, he proceeded to take card payments on the machine, as some were paying card and others in cash, we had worked out how much everyone needed to pay. Whilst the owner was taking card payment he shouted across the table to the waiter to make sure he counted the cash and that it was correct, this stunned us somewhat and felt this was very rude and unprofessional. At no point throughout the meal did we feel welcome and it felt everything was being forced on us to spend money rather than having a nice relaxing sit-down meal. I would never ever go back and would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff clearly need training and need to revise their own menu. Upon walking out you could see in the kitchen doorway a dirty old apron chucked on the floor which looked like had been used to clean the floor.

For a Saturday night the place was completely empty - and stayed that way throughout our visit and a couple of hours later when we walked past on our way home. When we ordered drinks and asked for a glass of tap water along with 3 pints of lager, we were presented with a bottle of expensive water which we refused and asked again for tap water - they weren’t happy. When the food began to arrive the older waiter managed to knock over the full pint of water and I took the brunt of it - all over my shirt but mainly over my jeans. I was soaked as it was all over the table and my chair so I was effectively sitting in it!! It completely spoiled my evening as I had no option to change so had to stay in soaked jeans right through to my underwear. When the bill arrived they had made no attempt to offer any discount as recompense so I took it back and asked for a discount - having worked in the hospitality area, this should have been a matter of routine! However they returned with the bill stating they had already discounted it as they had not a included the service charge!! Amazing. I explained to them that the service charge was entirely at customers’ discretion anyway (it even made clear on the menu that it was optional) and eventually they took about £4 off which didn’t even equate to 5%. Totally unimpressed with their idea of customer service and their lack of any concern for having completely ruined my evening.

We rang for a delivery of fish and chips and was advised that they didn’t take delivery orders by phone only online via deliveroo or justeat. Part of my order was for a seniors fish and chips which they don’t give you the option of ordering online! We all wanted cod and chips so ordered medium portions. Personally I’d class them as small portions, especially for the price. However they were very very nice and we’d definitely order from here again. Really nice curry sauce too!
