India Food 2 Go Kirkby in Ashfield

Placed an order via JustEat for delivery and was accepted 8:45pm, multiple texts came through stating that the order had been delayed- 4 in total. The final time frame for delivery was 22:50-11:20. Rang the restaurant and asked where our order was- the man on the phone explained that they had been extremely busy that evening due to the ‘big game’- England had in fact defeated Denmark the previous night and so there was no ‘Big Game’. He then went on to explain that the delivery driver was delivering a takeaway to an address in Newark - some 24 miles away from the takeaway/restaurant. Looked on their website and typed in a Newark postcode- it stated it did not deliver to this area. Staff could not give us a guaranteed time that it would be delivered by- as he changed his time 3 times- so we decided to cancel the order given that is was past 10pm and he couldn’t guarantee it would be here before 11pm. We now have to go through JustEat to get our money back- which doesn’t look likely. Would not recommend this place at all and will never attempt another delivery from their again. Zero stars if possible would have been given. Awful service and poor customer service on the telephone.

Not our usual, but scrolling through just eat and they had a deal, thought why not!! All good , food was quick, hot , tasty and lots of soft meat …, will deffo be back 👍

Order came wrong, rang to complain, kept me waiting on the phone for 16 min ,and then said he was sorting, it did apologise and was rude , £35 waste of money , will not be ordering again

3hrs no food delivered, they lie to just eat about delivery. absolute joke of a company. they talk to you like crap.

I ordered from this takeaway a few times. The food was good but always over an hour late. The final time was New Year’s Eve when we’d placed an order for delivery at 18:30. After several phone calls confirming it’s on it’s way we still hadn’t received any food by 9pm and contacted the takeaway to cancel the order and obtain a refund. They agreed it was unacceptable, advised we’d have to contact Datman in the new year to arrange a refund. We contacted Datman who said they’d get back to us but never did. When I telephoned them again they said they still needed to speak to the takeaway. When I called back again they said the restaurant refused the refund and stated they’d delivered it. I explained I was unhappy and this was fraudulent and they gave me a mobile number to call the takeaway which of course wasn’t answered I left a message and they haven’t responded. My next course of action is to apply my consumer rights, go to the local press and seek further legal advice. Yes that will cost more than the meal but people cannot be allowed to get away with this type of behaviour. What if this had happened to someone who’s on lower income and it was a treat for New Year’s Eve and now there’s nothing to eat and no refund to buy something else? Shocking.

Food was great but over 2 and half hours late..... service needs serious improvement.... feel sorry for the delivery drivers.

We order over the phone and collected our order which was ready when we got there. However, there was a boiled rice we hadn't ordered and we were over charged by £4.80 which we were very unhappy about after checking the prices in a new menu from the counter. The food was disappointing and had very little taste and was not very warm. We certainly won't be going back!

As I already did a review about my latest order I will do one more about it on here. I ordered on the 31st, food never turned up. Tried calling 20 times and it was always busy tone, next day I called again and no luck. Got in touch with just eat and according to their investigation team the order has been delivered. I’m so disappointed with the place and just eat for letting me down. I love the food but I wouldn’t order again just because I paid £20 for food which I never got, after trying to call them the next day to give them another chance and get this right no one answered..... keep the £20 I hope they will make you richer, but you lose much more in long term for losing me as a customer...

Disappointed as the food is nice but service is not up to standards at all. Ordered at 7pm, food arrived at 9:30pm after chasing more than once. Was first told our order was on its way and due to the weather (it had started snowing) and it could take up to 2 hours, then when chased again we were told the wrong order got sent out and the chef was re doing the order and it will be with us in half an hour..we live half an hour away from them so we thought that was strange they could re cook everything and drive it to us in that time but our original order had taken over 2 hours but that isn’t what the issue was. Once we eventually got our food, it tasted great, everything we ordered was delivered, however there was a hair in my partners curry. To be honest I’ve been generous giving 2 starts but that is for the food only, not the service at all.

Made my order at 5.25pm on justeat, estimated delivery time was 6.45pm - got to 7.20pm no food so I rang the shop was told it was in front of him and sorry for delay will send now as delivery driver just walked in... 9.35pm it arrived and was the completely wrong order! Over 4 hours wait for the wrong order is unacceptable! in those 4 hours I tried to ring the shop over 40 times and only got through once! If I hadn't paid online I would've ordered elsewhere and sent them away by that point had I known it was going to be that bad!

Horrendous we ordered at 5pm. It stated the food would be an hour. 3 hours later at 8:10pmIt shows up. After contacting the restaurant numerous times, they kept stating it was on its way! The food wasn’t great either, one of the worse Indians I’ve ever had!

Absolutely atrocious! Order at 7:30pm, should have arrived at 9:25pm but nothing! Phoned them at 10pm to find out where order was, I got told it’s on its way madam! Do you want me resend it from the restaurant??? Why would you need to do that if it’s on it’s way?? After calling the restaurant 8 times, we were told our food had gone on a 15 mile trip in the other direction but it’s now on its way to you! Should be in next 15 mins! Well as you can guess it didn’t arrive! Phoned again at 11:15pm, asked where delivery was, and this time was told the driver had tried to deliver, had been banging on our doors and windows but we had gone out! Absolute jokers, lies, lies lies!!!

I have ordered from here before and didn't have an issue but tonight it is currently 22.00 we wanted our food here for 21.15. Not happy at all being 45 minutes late i rang up asking where it is and they said its on its way its doing 7 deliveries on the way to me so its bound to be stone cold. I haven't had my tea yet and I'm absolutely starving.

Ordered from here several times, the first the food was good but it went down hill from here. The second time the curry had a thick layer of oil on top, however we tried again tonight and unfortunately we wished we hadn’t.Upon ordering we was advised it would take 40-55 mins for delivery, as always the delivery time kept getting pushed back and it took around 1 hr 45 mins to eventually arrive from the time of ordering.The chips was severely undercooked to the point where we didn’t want to eat them. My tandoori roti was very doughy and uncooked as well. The curry was just ok.Considering the prices are considerably higher than their competitors i would expect a more consistent level of food being provided which we haven’t experienced.Will not be returning.

We ordered on uber eats, waited until after the latest expected delivery time, rang and were told that our order had left and was on the way. We waited a further 20 minutes and were then told it would still be an Hour until our delivery. We were not given an apology and were told that they couldn't refund us on their end,after we asked to cancel the order.Thankfully, we used PayPal and will be challenging the order on there, if Uber Eats can't solve things for us.

Ordered at 6:10 on the just eat app. App said food to be with us by 8pm. Longer than I usually wait for food but thought it was acceptable and so waited until 8.30pm. At this time Myself and others wondered why it was so late so decided to get in touch via the app. Received a text saying delivery expected at 9:30!! Thought it was a ridiculous wait time for food. Bearing in mind I am a heavily pregnant lady who was getting rather hungry! We decided to call the restaurant and ask why it was over 3 hours wait for food and if there was anything that could be done as we were obviously unhappy. Had a hostile attitude and was told that they were short of drivers and tried the blame the app with the wait times. Even with the excuses they tried to give with the timings of our order reaching them it would have been almost 3 hours we would have waited. Was offered a bottle of coke after being verbally abused on the phone, ( we couldn’t reason with them to ant other solution even though we tried )so accepted the coke and when the food finally came the coke wasn’t there!! Customer service so so poor! I do not expect to have someone with absolutely no care for customers trying to say We was in the wrong when I have clear evidence on my phone! I will never order again and its to their detriment as there are others I know that also won’t either after hearing about this ordeal. So they are losing more business! In future for others may I suggest If it’s going to be longer than the time stated to them. Contact them ASAP and let them know and give them the option to collect themselves so they don’t have to wait as long? And also value your customers and not speak to them like garbage and blame them when it’s clearly your fault?

Ordered at 10pm arrived 10.55pm, food hot and portion size was good. Nice korma, and amazing tandoori lamb chops, would have liked some mint yoghurt to go with the chops but no worries. Delivery 10 miles for £1.50 so bargain. Very happy with order, quality, price and service

Waited 2 hours for delivery and got bland watery excuses for curry for an expensive price. Used to be good. LAST ORDER!!

When this place opened it was really nice, what happened, I don't know. Ridiculous waiting time for delivery and thirty odd quid wasted. Ive eaten curries in some top establishments and learned how to make them also.This place is now on par with a certain pub chain that ends in spoons.No depth, no flavour, watered down rubbish.No more!

If I could give 1 star I would. Customer service Is -5 stars food I cant comment on because it never arrived after 2.20hours of waiting. Cancelled the order and went to bed. Kids went to sleep on only a sandwich. This place has to be the worst restaurant I've ordered from and this is not the first time I've waited 2 hours for food.Maybe they should rename india food doesn't go!!!!

I have had the most atrocious experience ever!! The food i received was literally inedible, on calling to ask for the food to be refunded i was met with such hostility. I was talking to the receptionist who had the phone taken off her and i was greeted with the most hostile man who claimed his name to be Ali. He become increasingly hostile and talking over me every time i tried to speak. Nobody ever deserves to be spoken to the way he spoke to me. On asking for a manager he said there isn't one and i am i talking to him, the conversation worsened when i asked for a refund for food that i wouldn't even serve to anyone! trying to be nice became difficult with such an argumentative individual, with a disgusting attitude just like the food!i have had to state that the food tastes awful, soupy and it explained the food had to be left due to it tasting absolutely disgusting. He stated others have also complained about it but clearly isn't taking our complaints onboard. I was offered a replacement but refused due to it taking 2 hours to reach me. Disgusting!!!!

Just ordered a takeaway and honestly the best indian myself and my partner has ever tasted, we have tried lots of indian takeaways through out the UK on our travels, we have been on a strick diet for two weeks so we treat ourself tonight my mouth still watering, all flavours on point the best! Thank you

One of a few doing food deliveries in these trying times. Not ordered from these for a while so wondered if food would be ok? No need to worry! Food very good and hot. It arrived 5minutes early! Delivery driver really nice and because of the covid-19, he had placed on doorstep before letting us know he was outside, so kept a safe distance. Very impressed.

Received a menu through the door so tried India. So glad we did, excellent service when part of our order did not arrive came 20 minutes later. The food was amazing, best takeaway for a long time,will definitely be ordering again.

Gorgeous curry, amazing prawn puree & Ann breads are the best. I've tried do many places but not a patch on this place. Order always correct & arrives early. They even ring to check that I haven't forgotten my poppadoms when they saw I'd ordered pickle tray. Big portions too & made to your spice preference. Its good restaurant quality & I'm ver fussy with my currys. Thsnks again India

Received completely wrong order, called to say my king prawn dansak was sent as a chicken korma, husbands chicken dish was lamb. Called but they denied their error. All the dishes tasted the same but different colours, no spice, very sweet n no heat. What a waste of £50. Wish I’d read other review before wasting our money. Deffo should have got an Aldi jar!

Crap! Usually excellent. Is there new owners and staff? Had a delivery tonight. Onion bhaji missing. Phoned and they delivered them and had the audacity to try charging us again for them. A bit late as by the time they arrived the curry that was left was in the bin. The curry was awful and only 4 small pieces of chicken in each curry. Left half of it as it was rubbish. Withing 15 minutes of eating half of it i and my mate had tummy ache, had better out of a jar from ALDI

I wasnt originally going to use this takeaway but my usual let me down! Im glad they did.Ill defo be returning in favour of my usual.The food was beautiful! Came bang on time they said and the lady that took my order was very friendly, so was the guy who delivered!!!
