The food was incredible and the service really made it

wonderful atmosphere especially during the summer nights! loved the baked aubergine and the cauliflower! but my favourite is the chocolate chip dessert! giving the food a four star because there were some food that were lacking.

Great food with really generous portions! The service was excellent and the decor made me feel like I was on holiday! This is my third time dining here with friends and I’ll definitely be back.

Very nice restaurant, a very nice setting. we went there because the exterior was very pretty and thought we would be in a single restaurant, in fact it is a collection of several restaurants and bars, we chose this one and it was a very pleasant time. The place is pretty, the food is good, the service was very good. If we have the opportunity we will come back.

Had a lovely evening at the restaurant. Food was great and service delightful, especially Khushi who was great with us. She was very informative and friendly and the brought the experience itself up for sure. Will definitely be visiting again!

Great atmosphere and delicious food - good for a group.

This might be my new favourite restaurant! This place is lovely. Firstly. The team. Such friendly, helpful waiting staff. They were excellent at advising us how much we needed to order and didn’t push us to over order. Both the waiters we had look after us were super fun, really relaxed but very thoughtful. We had 2 birthdays in the table and they really looked after us. Then. The food. Dear god. I’m a veggie and the cauliflower was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. And the meat eaters agreed or were a bit torn with the chorizo. Everything we had, from the bread with. Burnt onion butter to the panna cotta was just delicious. The tasting menu was perfect. We had 2 between 3 of us plus 1 extra dish as I don’t have a big appetite and it was plenty. The only tiny fly in the ointment was the toilets. They are shared with the area and unisex. Which seems like a good idea until you get a bunch of drunk 20-something men from a bar nearby who can neither aim nor flush. But nothing the restaurant can do about that. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful setting, excellent service and the food was truly delicious

A beautiful Mediterranean beach restaurant feel in the heart of Borough. Seasonal menus were delicious with great portion sizes for the bigger eaters. Services was friendly and personal. We're a few birthday celebrations that day but they still made it feel intimate in the open setting. Worth going with a 2/3 people so you can really explore all of the menu (sharing style). Would return to try a autumn/winter menu they clearly know what they are doing.

A wonderful restaurant that feels like you’re outside on holiday, just steps from London Bridge. Service was friendly and enthusiastic - recommendations were offered freely which we appreciated. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, it was hard to choose but what we had was incredible. Definitely need to go back to try the rest of the menu and the desserts. Recommended.

Went in for the vibe, liked the design and the amount of space between tables which is a luxury in London. Disappointed with the food, they cut down like half the menu from what is online, increased prices and the steak was straight up cold, probably worst value steak I ever had, ('Spoons is superior) considering the price and quality. Wine list also cut down, they only serve minimal options by glass now, rest are high priced bottles. Service was good, nice guys.

Restaurant trouvé par hasard à la sortie d’un restaurant portugais proche. Cadre charmant, belle déco,le service et l’accueil irréprochables,d’autant plus que le gérant est français et qui nous conseille très bien. Beaucoup d’espace ce qui permet de ne pas être les uns sur les autres et qui offrent une certaine intimité de ce fait. Ce fut un régal pour tout notre groupe d’amis aussi bien des plats à partager que plats principaux Souris d’agneau, daurade et bien sûr accompagnés d’excellents vins bien frais. Nous ne manquerons pas de le conseiller et d’y revenir lors d’un prochain séjour à Londres. Tout était plus que parfait.

We went here for our anniversary dinner, and it was absolutely incredible. The meat was so tender and everything was perfectly flavoured. I wanted to try everything on the menu!They really took care of us and even gave us a little champagne toast for the occasion.

We experienced a warm welcome from our well informed and friendly host. The food was incredibly tasty and plentiful covering meat veggie and fish options on the menu. What we loved about this place is the real enthusiasm for their food. The atmosphere was perfect for a special evening out, we would without hesitation return.

We went for a pre theatre dinner having never been before and absolutely loved it. In particular, as two of our group are vegetarian, we were very impressed with the vegetarian choices which were delicious and imaginative. Dishes are generous sized sharing plates (although you can order a meal individually). Great food, good portions and a really nice "courtyard" atmosphere (although indoors). Highly recommended.

This was our first visit to In Horto, although we are very familiar with the area, as regular visitors to Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral. Although we were the first diners on a Saturday lunchtime, we found the spacious room very welcoming in itself. Fred, the manager, greeted us and showed us to our table. The menu is very appealing to us - with a mix of small plates and more substantial main courses. Starting with a Negroni Caraffe (what a great idea!) with olives, freshly made flatbread and smoked aubergine (delicious) we then enjoyed fresh crab and burrata & speck. After a short break, our main courses of chicken and leek for my wife, braised lamb for me, arrived and we relished them. No room for any desserts but delighted that as Menier Chocolate customers that day, we received a discount too. Fred is a very personable, attentive and friendly manager who made us very welcome. Highly recommended.

First visit to this restaurant, good decor and a really good small plates sharing menu. Great selection of cocktails and wine and really awesome staff. Must visit.

Great ambiance and would imagine it being great in the warmer weather when there is plenty of natural light. Food, just shy of 5 stars. The parmigiana was a bit too acidic for me. Service, good and bad. The bad was that while we were still going through our starters, the guy would keep appearing at our table asking if we were ready to order mains, to the point we ordered cos we felt bad he'd come around a 3rd time in-between our starters. Going back to the food. Great flavours and good serving sizes. The pardon peppers were great. Tunworth cheese was flavourful. Loved their chocolate mouse dessert. I'd go back for sure though to try their other dishes.

Really nice restaurant, gave off Ibiza vibes. Had the chef/menu selection which was superb. Bone marrow pie was excellent - tender meat. Lots of great wine. Had nice outdoor seating area which would be great in Summer. A bit more expensive if having wine.

I have now been three times! The food is excellent: last time we had the chef’s choice and the cauliflower/potato cheese is sublime. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

Beautiful restaurant, attentive friendly service, delicious food. The menu is a thoughtful, pan-latin-Mediterranean mix. We came in late winter with shutters down giving a cosy casa /trattoria vibe. In summer, I’m told the shutters come up for a much more open air experience alongside the others of the square. Will definitely be back.

This was my second visit. Service was great and I actually love the ambience, however it was starting to get a bit cold in the room. The starters were interesting, and the dessert was excellent. Sadly, the mains - the most expensive courses - were disappointing in flavour and temperature. My lamb in particular was dry, cold and just not interesting. My cocktail was fine, but too watery.

Such lovely interior that made the atmosphere classy. The concept of sharing plates really worked with the dishes. Everything was flavoured well and came in great sharing portions. Very enjoyable experience with hearty good food.

We enjoyed everything we ate: six garlicky prawns, padron peppers and chorizo from the starter options, then the delicious slow-cooked lamb as a main. For dessert the tarte tatin was gorgeous. We basically followed the advice of our charming waiter Kit, who looked after us throughout - and ensured we got to the theatre well-fed and on time! Thank you Kit.

A cozy, familiar environment with continuous care and attention to the customer. Starting from the quality of the food to meeting any request due to allergies. We stayed during New Year's Eve and everything was just perfect. Food of the highest quality (delicious sea bream and lamb). Attentive and present staff. Total cost really great compared to other offerings in the same area.

Wow, wow, wow. Spent our NYE @ IN Horto with the family and we couldn’t have picked a better place to spend our evening. Our waiter was so good, explaining the menu and adjusting to our families dietary needs - very informative & couldn’t have been more attentive. Food was out of this world- you will not starve here and the quality was excellent.. we will certainly be back! 10/10.

Hearty and delicious food! In Horto is my happy place 😋 Relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Both vegetarian and meat dishes are excellent, and so is the tarte tatin. Child-friendly place that feels homey, relaxed and spacious all at the same time while perfectly balanced. We keep coming back for more as it is simply wonderful experience every time.

Great food, great service. The small plates were delicious, especially the crab and the flatbreads. Service went above and beyond what was needed and we felt very well looked after.

A beautiful restaurant next to Borough Market. The food was amazing, excellent tastes and dishes. We loved all dishes, tasty, hearty food. The atmosphere was very cosy, spacious room, with tables far enough from each other. This is not the case in most restaurants nowadays where they pack tables literally cms away. Music was at the right volume, not too loud allowing for effortlessly conversation. The service, in particular our waitress Khushi, was lovely, very friendly and fast. It's a restaurant I will definitely visit again. It deserves a full of five stars.

Wonderful good and really great service

We found In Horto purely by accident as it is set within a courtyard complex and isn’t obvious from the road. The food was delicious, best meal we’ve had for a while. For starters we had the beef shin croquettes and the pork stew starter - both so so good. And for mains the confit garlic chicken (amazing) and the beef and bone marrow pie (unreal) with a side of confit potatoes. How they made these potatoes so so soft but also crispy is amazing. Not the cheapest but well worth the money. Service was friendly and good speed too. Recommend!

Would have loved to give this place more stars because the service, ambience and food presentation and portions are great. However the food itself was a bit tasteless and we waited 45min for it to be served

First time for my wife and I and we were hosting a friend from Beijing. Our waiter was excellent - friendly, attentive to our needs, including giving us space to chat and catch up, ensuring we never felt rushed. Food was excellent - we had snacks and mains and it was definitely good value. We will return!

Really nice location and ambience, and warm friendly service. We ordered Chef's Choice set menu for £45 - portions were very generous, and all the food was tasty. I didn't feel like any of the food was exceptional, and the food could have come a little faster (so maybe don't go if you don't have time to stay a while) - but would still definitely recommend.

We dined here on Friday as a large group, the service was fantastic! The cocktails were absolutely delicious, the cucumber margarita is a must! Really lovely food, the aubergine parmigiana, steak and padron peppers are simply delicious. Thank you Fred and team for making us feel so welcome.

My second visit and was as good as first! Lovely setting - relaxed and welcoming with nice buzz. Food was excellent- all 3 courses. Service and welcome were faultless - so friendly and knowledgeable. Staff really made it extra special! Will be going back!

Really wonderful space. Spacious but also intimate. I loved the atmosphere. The food was overall good. Although I didn't find one remarkable / exceptional dish, all the dishes were tasty and of good portion sizes. Desserts could be better Good service

I loved this restaurant, the food was really good and I appreciated the fact that there were many vegan and vegetarian options. The place was really nice, the ambience was great and the service was also amazing!

Great food, beautiful decor, amazing vibe and good service - the hispi cabbage and the arroz were great (the gnocchi is alright) and the chocolate mousse was divine. Service was a bit slow and they forgot a few things, but were very apologetic about it. The decor is stunning, although there could be better lighting as it was hard to read the menu due to the dim light. Vibey spot near London Bridge station!

Amazing service and wonderful food. We opted for the chef's selection and were beyond impressed by the quality and volume of food. The lamb and the best confit potatoes were particular highlights, and the desert of a pan cooked tarte tatin was quite the finale. The staff are brilliant and made our night feel very special.

Horrible staff visably high on drugs and rude and irratic. food was mediocre and price was high. i do not advise anyone brings a loved one here. not for dates or family.

Four mains were ordered and they were either bland, nothing special, stale or too salty. My steak had no flavour and the broccolini was ridiculously salty. Lamb was equally bland. My meal was replaced with sausages and beans, with the beans also being too salty. At least I didn't have to pay for my below par meals! The olive bread in the massive bread basket was stale. The acoustics are terrible (like most London restaurants) so it was difficult to have a conversation. Didn't help that our table was close to speakers that could not be turned down. We were offered another table which was nice Service was great though! And the olive oil that came with the bread basket was the highlight of the meal.

Food very mediocre for the price. Bread was stale. All dishes nothing special. Service was excellent but unfortunately that cannot make up for the poor food.

Tasty food, extremely friendly staff and nice space. The only small comment is there can be loud music from outside the restaurant which wasn’t our thing but overall we still had a very nice night and I would definitely go back again.

I had high hopes for this place after the reviews but for the price felt it was under par. For reference my main was the chicken dish which just felt a little basic. Service was quite slow also, the atmosphere however was great, very spaced out interior that allows you to have a great evening.

I love this place, delicious cocktails and food and so unbelievably well looked after by the staff there, Luke in particular went a few extra miles for a really high quality, personable service. An absolute asset to In Horto!

Unfortunately we both had upset stomachs within 30 mins of leaving the restaurant. My partner also found plastic wrapping in the dessert. Food was very average, for the price there’s much better options close by.

It was one beautiful evening at In Horto had gone out with some friends. The staff, service and the food was lovely enjoyed it to the fullest. We had a proper 3 course meal and everything that we ordered was super yummy. We were looked after by lovely Gayatri who gave us amazing recommendations. For starters we got some roasted artichoke, bread basket with great butter sides and their homemade flatbread which were just perfect in portion and were super scrumptious. Then came the soulful mains where we had Baked Cauliflower, Parmigiana di melanzane, Garlic Roasted Chicken and wood fired Arroz to top it all we were given this amazing complimentary heritage tomato salad by the chef really sweet gesture. For desserts we had the famous Tarte Tatin, Tiramisu and Affogato & Biscotti each one of them were just FAB. And finally to tie all of this together I shall recommend to must try their Orange Wine that goes really well with their palette of food. A big shout out to the amazing In Horto team who were so sweet and humble to have us around. A place you should must visit if around Borough Market or Tower Bridge area.

Amazing meal with super friend and accommodating staff!

We celebrated a family birthday at In Horto yesterday. It was a large group of around 70 people, which meant we had to hire the whole restaurant area. A beautiful bohemian space with a great menu to match. The tasty food and attentive staff were excellent. Will definitely be booking again when back in the London Bridge area.

Food - sounds good but doesn't quite hit the mark. Left feeling its expensive for what you get. Also we both had indegestion and upset stomachs immediately afterwards. Service - good, staff were all very friendly. They treated us nicely as it was our anniversary. Atmosphere - nice looking place but mice running around and waiters flipping tea towels and stamping trying to get them to run away. Kind of ruined the vibe. Couldn't pay attention to our conversation.

An oasis in the heart of Borough, lovely on a summer’s evening (even the rotten summer of 2023!!) felt like home cooking with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to Khushi for attending to our table and the birthday-surprise tiramisu. Recommend the side dishes of charred cabbage and purple sweet potato to share and accompany the main dishes. Cocktails were a hit too

Not one to normally post reviews but this issue needs to be addressed. Went to In Horto for long awaited catch up with some friends. The food was good on the whole but I was fairly underwhelmed with the service. We saw a number of mice openly scurrying around the restaurant. On calling a waiter over to make him aware he said “We are in London Bridge so they have mice always around this time” Firstly, Southwark quarter is not immediately next to London Bridge Station and are you telling me that every night at that time there are mice freely roaming around the restaurant? We moved tables of our own accord but there continued to be a number of mice roaming around. The waiting staff did nothing to deter these rodents. When we made them aware AGAIN, another waiter commented “It is because we are outside”. Whilst it is in an open area, there is a solid stone wall surrounding the area and I still don’t expect to see mice freely running around the restaurant. Imagine if they had been able to get into the kitchen area? There was no apology from the waiting staff or any effort made to get rid of the mice. Overall, very underwhelming finish to what was an enjoyable evening with some tasty food.

Everything was perfect! So refreshing to have a space in London where it’s not overcrowded and you aren’t eating your dinner ontop of one another. Felt like we were on holiday. 4 millennials having dinner without screaming blaring music along with hoards of obnoxious Gen Zs is rare. The food was perfect. We had the confit potatoes, fish, the lamb was melt in mouth with the veggies. The burrata was amazing. Couldn’t fault anything. Even the cocktails were quality. Wanted to mention Gayatri who was attending to us. She was super helpful, patient but efficient, informative, really knew her stuff and was super friendly. Will definitely go back again. Super impressed!!

Whilst the venue itself was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was unfortunately disappointing. The dishes themselves were well presented, however they really lacked in much flavour. Both my friend and I ordered steaks, which were both cooked perfectly, however we both felt that they were missing any seasoning. We found that the broccoli which came with the steak had been seasoned better than the steaks themselves. Our friend ordered the gnocchi which she didn't finish because it was too mushy and my partner ordered the lamb which again felt a bit bland. Given the prices I'd expect a bit better. 5* for the venue and service, but sadly 2* for the food.

We had three excellent meals and the service by Khushi was superb. What a lovely member of staff. Will definitely come back. Lovely setting too.

Elegimos el Restaurante In Horto porque queríamos probar nuevos sabores pero con el toque del horno de leña. Para empezar, el lugar nos pareció precioso, de ambiente tranquilo y acogedor. Decorado con mucho gusto. En cuanto a la comida, pedimos 3 entrantes, dos platos principales y dos postres. Lo compartimos todo (éramos dos personas) y nos ENCANTÓ. Finalmente, he de decir que la atención fue exquisita de principio a fin. Sin lugar a dudas, recomendáremos In Horto a nuestros familiares y amigos. Saludos desde Donosti!!

Such a beautiful open air restaurant tucked away in London Bridge. The food was really tasty and I loved the decor, will definitely be back!

This was our second visit to In Horto. Last time, the weather was chilly, and the square pretty much deserted; this time, it was a sudden summer's evening, and the after-work drinkers were packed in... but In Horto itself remained a calm, peaceful space in which to enjoy beautiful food, perfectly cooked. Service was efficient and friendly - all the staff seem so happy to be there, and so proud of the restaurant, which is lovely to see. I had the whole baked cauliflower, which was incredibly good; my friends had onglet steak (amazing) and the gnocchi (perfect little silky parcels). AND, because I'd mentioned it was a special occasion when booking, the staff came out with a complimentary tiramasu and sang 'happy birthday' at the end. Love this place and would highly recommend it. PS oh, and someone's furry best friend was welcome, too, with a bowl of water brought out for him :) There is so much space that even a non-dog-lover wouldn't be at all bothered by the presence of a well-behaved pooch!

What are superb place. Food is all slightly different because it’s all cooked in an oven. Staff are fantastic. Wine list is limited but good. Just something a bit different.

I hadn’t heard much about In Horto, but we were looking for somewhere that looked a little different, and so glad we did! The setting, on a semi-sunny day, is amazing. Pre-drinks outside in a funky courtyard, and then the restaurant itself - a fantastic indoor/outdoor concept completely unpretentious, where you can still experience the vibe from outside. The staff were all fantastic. Warm, friendly and knowledgable - special mention to our waitress Khushi who was so friendly and attentive with my wife’s gluten allergy, and made some amazing recommendations. The food itself was even better than expected. The two starters we had were so fresh, and went nicely with a cocktail. Then the 3 mains we shared - the cauliflower and Dover Sole particularly - were delicious. If anything, the portions were too generous, but Khushi boxed up some leftovers. They catered very well for gluten-free diets, and the guy (who’s name I didn’t catch, but assume was the manager) offered me a free side of the amazing confit chips for free, when they realised there might be a risk of cross-contamination to my wife. The type of generous reassurance that’s rare, but so appreciated. We’ll be recommending In Horto to everyone. It’s a hidden, not mega pricey, gem which I’m sure will be full to the rafters every night when word gets round. So don’t hesitate.

Came here as a group of 4 on a Friday lunchtime and it has a nice chilled vibe. It is quite hidden away in London Bridge which is good - it has a cool al fresco dining atmosphere. The food was great especially the chicken, confit potato and the tarte tatin. The one negative was a particular waiter who kept coming over for no need- we did feel a bit rushed and pressured which is crazy as it was Friday lunchtime and it was not busy at all. We would have stayed for extra drinks but at that point we felt we had outstayed our welcome even though we had a bill of over £350 and were only there 2.5 hours.

The service was excellent, the food was good and the venue is unique and interesting. The music was a little loud and the portions were quite small. The dishes were fusion dishes. They didn't quite work. I liked my quinoa salad, but my son disliked his. If you order chicken and pay 20 pounds, you expect a decent portion. They give you a small drumstick and a thigh...and quinoa salad with raw parsley. A little generosity and a food consultant would go a long way.

What a wonderful experience. the food is creative and delicious. Atmosphere is rustic and sophisticated at the same time. Our server Tamas added to our experience with his friendly personality and excellent service. Will be back on our next trip to London. Super cool neighborhood as well. Great to get away from the crowds.

Had a very nice time at In Horto. Booked for a dinner to meet with former colleagues, waiter was attentive, and kind. Gave advice on fairly priced wine which we enjoyed, and was very transparent on the quantity of alcohol in the carafe of cocktails that is being offered. When we arrived, I was instantly recognised, and guided to my table. Service was very smooth. Food was fair priced. All in all, ~50£ each for a table of 6, with one starter, one bottle of wine, 2 carafe of cocktails, 6 mains, and 1 tarte tatin + ice cream to share. Restaurant itself is very nice for summer. It's quite obvious that a lot of thought has been put into making it profitable, with slightly speedy background music (think trendy restaurant music, not the restaurant where you want to chill in your sofa), and waiter ever so slightly pushy for ordering more drinks, but that's only fair given the good pricing of the food and drinks. So 5 stars for a very good experience overall. We had a good time.
