Imperial Chippy in Leicester

Food was good and arrived fast.

We normally use this place but today wasn't a good experience, didn't get what we ordered, kebab meat was really dry and tasted a bit stale, not the usual nice meat. Not sure if I will order again

Coming from the black country, the home of battered chips I was worried about chips from the imperial..no need, they are perfect, crisp, fresh, and oil free....and plentiful, nice guys behind the counter too...they even said I smelled nice, Yes, I definitely recommend

Excellent service and quality food yet again.

First and last time ordering from here sadly! The fish was absolutely vile. The fish was grey, the batter was flat and soggy. Even my children have thrown theirs away. Disgusting.

I’d never been to this chip shop before and so glad I did. Chips were like old school chips my mum used to make in the chip pan really nice. Fish was massive. Ordered small and could have easily fed 2. Great value, crispy batter, quality fish and chips will definitely go back! Wish I could give 10 stars as 5 is not enough! Yum yum yum 😍

This place has definitely gone down hill. Two thirds of the large fish was batter and definitely not cod or haddock. Will not order again.

Used to go here a lot but their prices are ridiculous now. £15 + for a large kebab which consists of overdone chicken and doner kebab with roasted onion and peppers. I think considering other chippys charge at least 1/3 cheaper and it’s just as nice, if not nicer, Imperial needs to re-evaluate their pricing. It’s a real shame, as I used to enjoy coming here. Not to mention the last time I went there their doner meat and chips barely had any meat.

Used this chippy before and it was excellent but today not so good, chips seemed like they had been in the warmer some time and were not fresh, fish not brilliant either, nearly all batter and very little fish. Disappointed that we travelled 85 miles for my mums 96th birthday and she wanted fish and chips for a treat only to throw most of it away. Not keen on using them again as it’s a lot of money to pay if the quality is not there

We had pre-ordered for 5 of us on (as we thought Saturday's can be very busy with most places. We ordered Large fish Chicken and Mushroom Pie Large curry sauces Large gravy sauce Large jumbo sausage Small tray of donor meat 2 large bags of chips They gave us a free large bottle of pepsi max and everything was nice hot and very fresh. The Big bag of chips is excellent value as it can feed 4 adults. It's a bit further than our local chip shop but worth the trip, not just for the friendly service but great taste and value too.

Dry tasteless food, delivered with the urgency of a snail.

The food was nice the only fault I have is there was no chilli sauce on the kebab which was ordered

the driver didn't get out of his car to bring the food up to my door. he rang me to fetch it. I thought delivery service meant the driver brought the food to the door 🤦‍♀️. not good when you've paid for delivery

Fish and chips were very nice. Best delivered fish I’ve had in Leicester. Large kebab is nice. Perhaps better with naan or more pitta. Delivered on time

I veered away from my usual, delicious fish and chips and went for Chicken kebab. I was not disappointed! Definitely my fave chip shop ♥

Everything was fine but the Kebab, I ordered a large and it wouldn't feed my young Grandson let alone my Son, if I had ordered the small I think there would have only been 2-3 strands as there wasn't much more in the large. So overall the fish, battered sausage and chips were good, but I would not go there for a kebab again if that's all you get for nearly £10, I was disappointed.

Lots of lovely kebab meat & piping hot fish & chips, really happy with this company, when I went to collect an order they gave me a small plate of chips while I waited!

Normally lovely food but this time it was not good, chios were hard and dry and fish tasted burnt.

If you order your food to be delivered via an app. Please be aware if you tip the driver, none of it goes to the driver. The restaurant keeps it - doesn't even split it!

this was really nice. the kebab and salad tastes so fresh and delicious. really enjoyed it. only thing I'd request is option to add pickled onion and gherkins on menu

Was supposed to be delivered by 5.30 didn't arrive till 6.30

Driver never had just eat bag... fish and chips weren't wrapped up properly. Looked like had been opened.

Excellent service. There was an outage with the Just Eat app connecting to drivers, so they called me and delivered personally. And the food was good.

Food was amazing but delivery was abysmal from just eat.

The delivery delay was down to just eat not having enough couriers, I find it unbelievable that you took the order when you don’t have the means to deliver on time.

The driver was rude 20 mins later put the food on the bin and said there your food thanks for the chippy give me free food again and drop of but just eat is a waste of time

The salad smelt off, chips were well over done and hard! not a good experience would have preferred for it to be late and fresh than early/on time and foul..well over priced for what was ordered large kebab that was basically a small and chips £17 think we got the drag ends..😕

Would have liked the food to be a little hotter but it was ok and I put the fishcake in my airfryer for 5 minutes to warm it up...

We had a delivery of a large, mixed kebab, large chips, curry sauce, salad and a drink. Outstanding - big portions, hot tasty food, quick service and easy to order. Cheap as well, especially for the quality. Will definitely order again 👍🏻

Curry sauce was piping hot at the bottom but cold at the top, so clearly was microwaved without stirring. Gutted, I love Imperial Chippy but they've clearly let themselves go :(

This could well be the best chippy in Leicester. Despite getting chilli sauce instead of the garlic I ordered this time, this small mistake did not detract from how good the food was. Many thanks

Order from here regularly and have always had lovely food, except today the burgers taste off.

always good to have a nice chippy every now and then

After initially stating delivery at 16:55-17:15 our food finally turned up at 17:56. The food turned up only just warm and near on as cold. We use imperial chippy all the time and never usually receive this poor service and state of food if we collect it. All of the food has had to be reheated which is unacceptable.

Cant go wrong here the food is always nice, the chicken kebabs are lovely! and decent prices too.

The delivery man was lovely and apologised for being a bit late. It’s the first time we’ve ordered from here and we wasn’t disappointed. It’s definitely value for money, the fish and chips were huge and were fresh. The fish was lovely and the portions are massive. The curry sauce is thick with loads of flavour. We definitely will be ordering again. Thanks for a lovely meal. We definitely recommend ordering from here you won’t be disappointed.

Ordered food at 15.32 it arrived at 17.55 nearly 2 and a half hours when it stated be there by 16.10. Will not be ordering again. Delivery driver was ignorant and rude

Lovely hot food, plenty of it & we really enjoyed it, lots of meat with the mixed kebab.

Unfortunately we had some issues with the Just Eat Delivery driver forgetting half of our order but the person who answered the phone (13/10) was very polite and brought the remainder of our food to us within 15 minutes. The food was so tasty and we all throughly enjoyed it. Chicken kebabs are fab and well worth their value! A massive thank you to the person who I spoke to down the food and then dropped the food off, you are a star!

Food was like warm when it got to me, which surprised me as I picked it for how close it was. Having said that, the portion sizes were good. I just wish it had been warmer.

The food was good, especially the curry is just as I remember. Very happy with all of the service.

First time ever I’ve given this place less than 5 stars. We both had doner meat and chips and we both felt that a) the diner meat was a bit dry and old and b) there wasn’t alot of meat to go with the chips, therefore I felt it wasn’t really value for money. I think given the massive price hike as well, I don’t think I will be returning to imperial. Very sad indeed.

Had fish and chips from here last night and I’m sure the fish was cooked the day before. I’ve never had fish like it before as it was so hard and dry I could have used it as a cricket bat. The worst chippy I’ve used in a long time.

Meal was Luke warm ! Not enjoyed at all

I asked for chip cob in the leave a note box I asked for cheese the chip cob and never got it disappointed

A bit late but the food was hot and good quality. This my first time and I was not disappointed with the food. So I recommend it to anyone and be back again.

Food was spot on service was good and fast considering the line for food and then gave a free big bottle of Pepsi you just don’t get people or places like this anymore 👍🏼
